| Okay so it's painfully obvious XWL isn't what it once was, We want to get it back to what it was, and I'm sure all you do too. So as usual, We've come to you for an ideas or suggestions you have...anything. Be it about titles, how cards are booked...even things we can add/do...Tournaments or whatever. Just anything you think could be good, suggest it and the admins will discuss any ideas. | |

Just anything you think could be good, suggest it and the admins will discuss any ideas. In all honesty, I don't want to be a martyr but it's 2k15's fault for sure. The game doesn't get anyone psyched as it did in previous installments. We can always implement newer aspects such as specific divisions (X Division and Tag Team) It'll give the elements needed for XWL to survive through this winter. | |

The break killed the activity in this league. | |

The break killed the activity in this league. Wasn't exactly active before the break, which is why we had the break. | |

| Recruit, obviously. Something that keeps feds alive is young and hungry competitors. That's something you need. Even if XWL is all about fun, having these kids come in, wanting a title, wouldn't hurt. | |

| Can't justify a specialized title like the X Division belt til activity picks up. And tag division can't work when singles matches are hardly getting done. | |

| Honestly think Tyler hit the nail on the head, XWL needs members right now. Because usually 1 out of every 3 or 4 is a member that the league will keep, and one that will add to the activity. So since the current crop of members aren't all being active, you need to find ones who will. You should organize a thread or something that gives members as well as admins a guideline for how to advertise, because I think that might be XWL's only real chance at this point.
Truthfully I'm in the group that thinks the break killed XWL too. Yes the activity wasn't anything to brag home about before, but because it was so disorganized leading up to the return (by both members and admins) that was a big fault in getting things going. It's not an easy thing to run a league, so right now what XWL needs is for it's admins and members to come together for one last ditch effort.
Get some fresh meat involved, sure some might be a little immature and may need work, but if they'll be active, and follow the rules, then they're what this place needs.
Adding divisions won't do anything, if people aren't doing matches now, there's no justification in adding anything title related.
Really titles, tournaments, special events aren't what XWL needs right now. They help when activity dips, but that's the thing to have activity dip, you need an established crop of people being active in the first place. And while there's a select group that are being active, it's not enough and that's the main problem. So my suggestion is to do exactly what Tyler said. Advertise, it's never been our thing, but things have also never been this bad activity wise either. | |

| For the record I agree about advertizing and I've said I'm willing to help with that. I just got paid today and have only been home for about an hour or so. Willing to look into this in the morning to see if some things can get moving for the better. | |

Already tried this, they monitored the advertizing heavily, and made it where you can only link your leagues once and it has to be in a specific "league/fed" thread. So that window of opportunity to grow this place is rather small actually. | |

| This is RCP on an account I've been using to lurk. Never really intended to post on it, but I think now is a good time.
First off, I'd just like to say I'd still be willing to join and I'd obviously add to activity but Pats or someone would need to do my matches. I mean, I don't expect to be allowed to... just putting it on the table.
Anyways, you guys definitely need to recruit. Yes, 2k forums suck for advertising these days. However, 2k forums aren't the only place to advertise. I know you guys don't think highly of the leagues I ran, but I did know how to recruit for them and Jerry can attest to that. Here is what I did:
--- Post on gamefaqs, caws.ws and gamespot. I'm unsure of the rules on the latter two, but on gamefaqs you can make a thread for advertising and, since they don't allow "double-posting," either have multiple accounts have a nice lil' conversation or just keep deleting and reposting the same message every couple days. I know, it's gimmicky, but it's how recruiting works... unfortunately.
--- Play a ton of quick matches online. No clue what the current landscape is, but if you quit any games where people use custom caws, (or host your own w/custom rules disallowing created content) then you should find decent people now and then. Send out a mass online message to those people included with the link and a friendly little hook. Some will join. For those people you are DEFINITELY going to need to teach them fair play, but I've had some decent league finds through this method.
--- Message people from dead leagues online. See, I'm anti-advertising on living leagues because it's a real douchebag move. What's the harm in contacting people from dead leagues? It isn't member-stealing... it's providing a member what they wanted but were unable to find in another league.
Edit: Extending that point, why not pop a message on XBL to some former members? XWL has been around for six years there must be loads. Think about it. I'm sure some of them would love to come back, but XWL doesn't cross their minds anymore.
--- For anyone who has friends that play, invite them. This is a point I always used to stress in my leagues.
--- Lastly, the important part for whoever is going to run this is to understand the landscape of recruiting. It isn't easy. The rejections FAR outnumber the people who end up joining. If contacting five people and having none of them join is going to discourage you, then don't do it. On average, I'd message between 100-300 people when I set up a new league. Usually, I'd get between 20-30 members. However, you guys may get more or less because less superstars are available, but the league looks nicer/trustworthier.
Again, I know you guys realize I can't run a league. I completely agree. But it isn't the recruiting part I struggle with. I just can't be asked to keep up maximum effort year-round. Recruiting wise over the last three years or so many of XWL's 'best' newer members have, in some way or another, been brought here either by me or by people who've met people I brought in.
I'm just saying my recruiting methods work. There are other sites out there, but I don't know any off the top of my head. That's you guys's job. Just try out recruiting the way I did and, if you have a couple people taking different roles, it won't be hard and it will get you, in a months time or so, a solid amount of members.
However, there is one underlying problem. Nobody has an Xbox One. Compared to, rough estimate here, ~80 million Xbox 360 units sold the Xbox One is in the single digit millions. The possible member pool is just smaller these days. Honestly, the league shouldn't only be open to one system... at least right now.
Anyways, to respond to other things, I don't think a gimmicky title is needed right now. First and foremost, members are needed. However, how do you encourage new members to give a fuck? Have fun things. Not everything needs to be super serious. Like Jerry suggested, have a series, have a tournament, have a storyline where another GM is coming in for a hostile takeover and he needs to hand-select three guys to fight another three guys and, I don't know, throwing out random shit. Whatever you do, have something that new members can invest themselves in.
Also, last thing, make the whole forum available to guests. I don't even know why it's like the way it is. Hiding the site from guests makes them not want to join.
Wait, one more last thing, good call on the cutting to two superstars. Never liked that. Some people (like Krzy) can pull it off but that's way too few people. | |

| Sorry for going off topic, but RCP sounds familiar to me lol.
But on topic, from what I've learned from the past when you're dealing with hard times the best thing to do is keep your spirits high and keep the moral with who is here high. We have to keep the fed enjoyable for each other and welcoming to others. The key to gaining members is advertisement, but come advertisement comes 50% of the people who aren't active. It's really hard to find people like ourselves who where around feds for years and are still around today. People today really don't want to take the time to role play and everything like that, they just want to play the game, and with WWE 2k15, people really don't even want to play the game.
I'd love for XWL to thrive like it was '09-'11 again. Those years were booming for feds. | |

I'd love for XWL to thrive like it was '09-'11 again. Those years were booming for feds. Yes, you were in WWEO. I know everyone in leagues. And true, but advertising is vital. Don't for a second think members "just happen" to appear in leagues. Just sort out the garbage inactives and keep the goods. Clearly, NOT advertising isn't working. It is hard to find people who are active and committed. That's why I said you'd need about three advertisements and messages to about 100-300 people. However, I've found many people who've gone on to become good league members. Mad Dash, Jerry, etc were all found through the ways I listed. All you guys really need is someone committed & devoted to give the massive amount of time advertising requires. Time to round up gamertags from around the web and to make sure multiple advertisements are floating around the top pages of websites. | |

It's not a game changer unless you're unable to put on a show, I'm not entirely against new blood.. Hell I even once was a few months back. You're right in how we're limited in resources and we should branch out with social media to our advantage. Possibly once we find the loyal members and ween out the one's who come at their own leisure. The holy place of XWL will be in it's rightful path. | |
