PostSubject: XWL.com Exclusive: The Monster Bash Preshow    XWL.com Exclusive: The Monster Bash Preshow Icon_minitimeSun Oct 21, 2012 6:32 pm

A mini-pyrotechnics display goes off for the people in the arena and those still shuffling in. For the first time ever XWL is having a pay-per-view preshow and there are some people who wouldn’t miss this historic event for the world. The camera moves around the arena showing the smiling faces of the kids and the adults sporting the wrestling gear and proudly waving their handheld signs. The camera finally rests on Joey Styles sitting alone at the announce table, though the time away from Michael Cole most likely doesn’t bother him.

Joey Styles
Ladies and Gentleman welcome to The Monster Bash preshow! This is Joey Styles here, getting ready to call the action of this show by myself, and remember, this free event is just a taste of what this XWL pay-per-view will have to offer, so make sure you go out and order the show so you don’t miss a single moment of what is bound to be a spectacular show. We have two epic matches lined up for you tonight and I managed to get a peek at the list and these matches are definitely one that you want to catch. Kicking off the show will be a match up months in the making between Kurt Angle and Big Show: two former partners who had a major falling out and now they’re getting the opportunity to settle the score once and for all. Will Big Show’s size and strength come into play against the Olympic Gold Medalist? Or will Angle’s experience, technical prowess and speed advantage come into play when these two go head to head in the opening match of this show? Those are the questions along with many others that will be answered when the bell rings, so sit back relax and enjoy the show folks!

Joey Styles
What a match that was, but don’t forget there’s one more incoming and it’ll be a hard fought match as two men step into the ring ready to go all out for the chance to continue their tag team. That’s right, the match between Chris Sabin and AJ Styles is coming up next where the winner of this match will earn the right to continue tagging with Alex Shelley, if that’s what Shelley wants. Either Generation-Next or The Motor City Machineguns won’t make it another day, and the best part of this whole thing? That fact that it’ll be Shelley himself who will referee this matchup between his two friends.

This all began when Shelley sought the help of longtime friend, Sabin, to take on the newly reformed Kings of Wrestling but The Kings got to Sabin first putting him out of commission. It was AJ Styles who came to Shelley’s aid and for weeks they battled The Kings eventually bringing back Generation-Next. At Supremacy during the first ever Tag Team Elimination chamber match, Gen-Next brought in Sabin to referee the match in an attempt counteract The Kings and their personal Ref Shane Hagadorn. But Sabin wasn’t there to help out Gen-Next, he was there to let Shelley know face to face that he was tired of sitting on the sidelines watching Shelley team with someone else.

That began a war of words between the three men that led to Shelley ditching Styles and Sabin and forming a brief alliance with John Morrison, until Morrison’s actions during a triple threat match led to Shelley questioning how sincere Morrison’s motivations were. Soon Shelley returned during a confrontation between Styles and Sabin and announced that there would be a match where the winner would get to tag with him again. But will Shelley call this match straight down the middle? Or does he favor one of his former teammates over the other? We have Jeremy Borash standing backstage with Shelley himself and we’ll see just what Shelley’s mindset is heading into this match.

The camera cuts backstage and an image of JB standing backstage with Alex Shelley appear on the titantron and the people cheer when they see him.

Jeremy Borash
Folks, I’m backstage live with Alex Shelley who is about to be the official of the match where the future of his career is on the line. Now Alex, what is possibly going through your mind when you have to make what is possibly the biggest decision of your XWL career?

XWL.com Exclusive: The Monster Bash Preshow Shellpsho1

Alex Shelley
Whoa, hold on there a second Mr. Interviewer man, we have to clear something up before we get any further. I made a decision to put an end to this fighting once and for all by going to the GM and getting him to make this match official and I made a decision to get involved in this match by have XWL provide me with my own personal zebra shirt, but when I get down into the ring the power is out of my hands. I won’t be deciding who wins this match, AJ and Chris will be, I’m just going to make the three count that seals the deal.

Jeremy Borash
So it’s really the best man that’s going to win this match. Do you have an idea of who will come out on top here?

Alex Shelley
I have no idea, they both hate each other and they both are going to do whatever they physically can to win this match, and you know what? I’m not going to stop them.

Jeremy Borash
So you’re saying that you’re going to allow them to do whatever they want in this match?

XWL.com Exclusive: The Monster Bash Preshow Shellpsho5

Alex Shelley
I’m saying that this may as well be pin-fall only match because that’s the only way I’ll end this match. I don’t want any controversy and no drama after this night is done. If this is going to be the show that determines who I’ll go on tagging with then I want the winner to be determined without a doubt.

Jeremy Borash
Thank you for your time, Alex and good look out there. Watching your two friends go at it like this must be hard for you.

Alex Shelley
Like you wouldn’t believe.

Shelley walks away and the camera cuts back over to the stage just as a familiar theme hits.

XWL.com Exclusive: The Monster Bash Preshow 4SGYo

Styles steps onto the stage as his regular theme blasts through the spears and he shouts that ‘Generation-Next will live on’ as he flips off his hood and throws his arms out while pyro flows down behind him. Styles makes his way down the ramp slapping a few hands until he gets to the ring and slides inside. Styles throws out his arms one more time until his music is abruptly cut off by another.

Sabin gets some cheers when The Motorcity Machine Guns’ theme hits and Sabin walks onto the stage and points right at Styles with his gun taunt. Sabin throws off his vest and suddenly makes a beeline down to the ring and when he slides inside Styles begins stomping away at him, but Sabin fights his way to his feet and the two men begin trading heavy strikes.

XWL.com Exclusive: The Monster Bash Preshow RmteH

The crowd cheers as the shots get stiffer as these men let out weeks of frustration and they’re both determined to team with Shelley after this night. Shelley still hasn’t come out yet, meaning this match isn’t official, but the two men going at in in the ring couldn’t care less at this point. They’re out to hurt each other and they’ll be damned if they allow the other man to walk out of the arena in one piece. Styles begins to pick up steam as he throws in some stiff kicks to go along with his punches until he has Sabin backed against the ropes. Styles takes Sabin by the arm and attempts to throw him towards the ropes, but Sabin reverses the irish whip and Styles hits the ropes instead. When Styles bounces off, Sabin charges forward with a clothesline and misses as Styles ducks under it and continues running over towards the other side of the ring. Sabin’s momentum causes him to run over to the other side of the ropes and both men bounce off and seem to have the same idea as they both go for the crossbody ad collide in the middle of the ring. They each get up clutching their guts and leap into the air both going for the dropkick and the soles of their boots connect before they drop to the mat. Styles and Sabin get up a little more slowly this time and when the crowd begins to cheer the two men think it’s for them, but the camera cuts to the ramp and we see what the people are really cheering about.

XWL.com Exclusive: The Monster Bash Preshow Shellret7

Sabin and Styles stop their fighting long enough to watch Shelley get into the ring and when he does Shelley gives each man a look before walking over to the side of the ring closest to the bell-keeper and telling him to ring the bell. Shelley then walks over to the corner and leans against the turnbuckle and tells his two friends to have a ball. Styles and Sabin don’t have to be told twice and they race over to each other and lock up. Sabin quickly drives his knee deep into Styles’ gut and sets him up for a suplex but Styles blocks the attempt with his leg. Sabin stomps on Styles’ foot and manages to lift him in the air this time but Styles knees Sabin on the top of his head causing Sabin to let him go. Styles lands behind Sabin then spins him around so he can kick him in the gut and then Styles goes for a suplex of his own, but instead of falling to the ground, Styles lets Sabin fall on his feet behind him, but before he can hit the stylin’ neckbreaker, Sabin gets out of his clutches, spins around and drives his forearm into the back of Styles’ head.

XWL.com Exclusive: The Monster Bash Preshow Shellret19

Sabin’s shot causes Styles to stumble forward into the ropes where Sabin grabs him from behind looking to hit a german but he can’t pull it off as repeated elbows from Styles to the side of the skull causes Sabin to lose his grip. Styles turns and grabs Sabin from behind with a roll up:

1

Sabin kicks out and the momentum causes Styles to stumble forward into the corner where Shelley is standing and Styles grabs Shelley by the arms and asks if he’s okay, until Sabin pushes him out of the way and tells Styles that they have a fight to finish. Styles pushes Sabin back and they exchange a few more words until Sabin goes to throw a punch that Styles blocks and then he takes Sabin’s arm and twists it behind him for the chickenwing. Sabin tries to throw an elbow behind him to get Styles but Styles ducks under while at the same time letting go of Sabin’s arm so that his momentum causes Sabin to spin around and Styles quickly grabs him and hits a northern lights suplex with a bridge:

1

Sabin shows some strength by doing a bridge of his own and he gets himself off the mat then twists so that he has Styles’ head tucked between his arm as if he were going for a DDT and he lifts Styles in the air for what looks to be a suplex, but then he drops Styles gut-first over the top rope and Styles bounces a few times before he falls forwards back into the ring. Sabin watches as Styles slowly makes his way to his feet then he dashes over to the ropes and goes for a big boot and Styles slyly pulls down the top rope and Sabin crashes and burns outside of the ring. The camera cuts back to Shelley to catch his reaction to his friend possibly getting hurt but Shelley’s face reveals nothing.

XWL.com Exclusive: The Monster Bash Preshow Shellret18

Styles takes a moment to catch his breath but he springs back to action when he sees Sabin slowly getting to his feet. Styles runs over to the ropes on the other side of the ring to gain some momentum, and then he flips over the top rope with the fosbury flop but Sabin slides back into the ring at the last second causing Styles to land on the thin padding outside with a sickening splat. Sabin walks over to Shelley and asks if that’s the kind of guy who he wants to tag with and Shelley doesn’t respond. Sabin spots Styles getting to his feet in the corner of his eyes and he charges to the ropes and dives through the ropes and connects with a suicide dive! Sabin does throws his hand in the air hyping the crowd up then he turns back to Styles and rolls him into the ring while he gets onto the apron. Sabin begins stomping his foot on the apron to get the people clapping and when Styles gets up Sabin leaps to the top rope for the springboard.

XWL.com Exclusive: The Monster Bash Preshow KbjWf

Sabin hits the crossbody and sticks the landing for the pin!

1

Styles uses his feet to roll himself backwards and now he’s on top of Sabin, but instead of waiting for Shelley to count the pin, Styles works his way to his feet with Sabin in his arms. Styles drops Sabin onto his knee and then throws him over his shoulder with a fall away slam. Sabin crawls over to the corner and pulls himself up to his feet and Styles charges and leaps into the air for a forearm but Sabin ducks out of the way leaving Styles to hit nothing but the turnbuckle. Sabin takes Styles by the arm and throws him into the corner but he wasn’t prepared for Styles to leap to the top and backflip over Sabin catching him on the way down.

XWL.com Exclusive: The Monster Bash Preshow VT8e4

Styles hits the inverted DDT and when he gets up he throws out his arms and screams and the crowd cheers. Styles walks over to the turnbuckle and begins undoing the pad slowly at first as he waits to see how Shelley will respond and when Shelley does nothing Styles undoes the pad fully and throws it out of the ring. Styles grabs Sabin by both legs so he can drag him over to the corner easily, then he falls backwards and catapults Sabin head first right into the exposed turnbuckle. Sabin slumps against the corner and Styles gets up and begins banging his head against the exposed turnbuckle. Styles looks over at Shelley who’s watching with that same expressionless look on his face and after slamming Sabin’s face a few more times against the steel, Styles stop and walks over to Shelley and asks if he doesn’t care what he’s doing to his friend, and Shelley responds by pushing Styles away and telling him to end the match instead of wasting his time. Styles listens and grabs the now bloodied Sabin and tucks his head between his legs and we all know what’s coming next.

XWL.com Exclusive: The Monster Bash Preshow PCeIT

Sabin crawls between Styles’ legs and when Styles turns around Sabin connects with an enzuigiri and Styles collapses to the ground. Sabin looks to be in a bad shape, but the thought of a future without teaming with his friend motivates him and he crawls over to the ropes and uses them to pull himself to his feet. The camera cuts over to Shelley and for a second he looks worried at the state of his bloodied friends, but it’s only a second as he goes stone-faces again. Sabin stumbles over to Styles and brings him to his feet and drives his forearm into Styles’ face and the force of the blow knocks Styles backwards and he trips over his feet and tumbles through the ropes and out of the ring. Sabin rolls out after him and stomps on Styles a few times before walking over to the announce table area and grabbing a chair. Sabin looks at Shelley as he walks over to Styles with chair in hand, and when Shelley doesn’t say a word, Sabin swings the chair and cracks Styles over the head with it.

XWL.com Exclusive: The Monster Bash Preshow Shellret11

Sabin throws the chair down shouts at Shelley that that was how much he wants the win. Sabin pulls Styles onto his feet and drives him back first into the ring apron once, twice, three times, but Sabin does stop there. He goes to throws Styles into the steel steps but Styles reverses it and throws Sabin instead and luckily Sabin is able to leap over the steps and stop himself before he runs into the barricade. Sabin turns and then he charges over to the stairs then he steps off it and leaps high into the air for a forearm but Styles ducks under and Sabin is somehow able to roll through and get back onto his feet. Sabin runs at Styles, but almost as if he has eyes on the back of his head…

XWL.com Exclusive: The Monster Bash Preshow DL3zJ

Both men are down on the ground and Shelley remains in the ring and doesn’t even bother checking on them. He hasn’t tried to enforce any rules thus far, so he may let them lay out on the ring for an hour. For the sake of the people, only a minute or so passes before Styles begins to stir and he stumbles over to the apron where he leans for a second to catch his breath. Sabin begins to stir after a moment and Styles heads over to him and chops him across the chest and Sabin responds with a punch to the face and Styles comes back with a knee to the gut. Styles grabs the doubled over Sabin and bashes his face across the covering on the announce table until Sabin starts driving his elbow into Styles’ gut until he lets go then Sabin takes Styles by the head and slams his face onto the announce table with all his might and Styles crumbles to the ground. Sabin drags Styles over to the ring then gets in himself and goes for the pin:

Styles kicks out! Sabin looks at Shelley as if the thought that maybe Shelley is trying to rig the match for Styles is running through his mind, but then he quickly shifts his focus back to Styles and pulls him back to his feet and lifts Styles onto his shoulders for the Cradle Shock!

XWL.com Exclusive: The Monster Bash Preshow YU7tb

Before Sabin can hit the move, Styles throws some elbows until Sabin drops him. Styles spins Sabin around and kicks him in the gut then he takes Sabin by the head and it looks like he’s going for the Sliced Bread! Styles runs over to the ropes but Sabin stops him before he can flip over and plants Styles on the top rope and drops him into the tree of woe position. Sabin backs up and throws up the guns before charging and hitting the hesitation dropkick! Styles is still hanging there so Styles backs up and hits another hesitation dropkick! This time Styles falls off and Sabin drags him away from the ropes leaps into the air and hits a huge elbow drop before going for the pin:

Styles kicks out! Sabin slaps the mat in frustration after two near falls and he slowly stands to his feet. Sabin waits for Styles to get to his feet before he runs over to the ropes and springboards off looking for the DDT.

XWL.com Exclusive: The Monster Bash Preshow QxWvD

Somehow Styles is able to keep Sabin in the air and then he drops him onto his knee for an atomic drop then Styles runs over to the ropes and hits a beautiful dropkick! Styles pulls Sabin to his feet and tries for the Styles Clash again but Sabin drops onto his knees trying to make himself as heavy as possible and Styles eventually gets frustrated and slams both of his fists onto Sabin’s back repeatedly and then he boots Sabin on the side of the head. Styles walks over to Sabin’s legs and stomps on them repeatedly before locking in the figure four! Sabin is screaming in pain as Styles puts so much pressure on the hold that it looks like he’s going to snap Sabin’s leg in half. Shelley is asking Sabin if he wants to kick out and Sabin shouts no as he drags himself over to the ropes and finally grabs the bottom rope. Shelley tells Styles to break the hold and Styles gets up and yells at Shelley for his decision to enforce rules now and he asks Shelley whose side he’s on. Shelley tells Styles that he was getting nowhere with the move and Styles waves him off and walks back over Sabin.

XWL.com Exclusive: The Monster Bash Preshow Q8exK

Styles pulls Sabin back into the middle of the ring looking to do the figure four again but this time Sabin kicks him off and rolls onto his feet. The two men meet in the middle of the ring and lock up and battle for the upper hand and it’s Sabin who’s able to push Styles back into the corner and he knees Styles in the gut then backs up and as he does Styles explodes out of the corner for a clothesline but in an impressive move Sabin does a handspring backflip to evade the move and Styles flies by him and his momentum causes him to crash into the turnbuckle chest first. Sabin crawls over to the corner and it looks like the landing on that backflip tweaked his knee or something and Shelley breaks his composure and goes over to check on him. Styles comes over and pushes Shelley away and tells him to mind to stay out of this until the match is finished but while he’s talking, Sabin grabs Styles by the tights and pulls him forward and Styles hits the top turnbuckle face first… the same one he exposed earlier leaving him dazed on his feet and Sabin hops up and rolls him up.

3!

Shelley calls for the bell and seems about miffed about what Sabin pulled to get the win and Shelley rolls out of the ring and heads to the back.

Sabin’s theme hits and he receives a mixed reaction from the people because of the way he won that match, but Sabin is all smiles at the thought of The Motor City Machine Guns living another day and he shouts after Shelley that he did this for him, but Shelley is well out of earshot and Sabin climbs out of the ring to go after him leaving Styles in the ring by himself. Styles gets up slowly and the people cheer him but he doesn’t seem to be in the mood for their pity. He slams the mat and then he kicks the ropes before finally leaving the ring and making his way up the ramp. The camera then cuts back over to the announce table and Joey Styles delivers some parting words.

Joey Styles
Alex Shelley said earlier in his interview that he wanted this match to end in a way that there was no doubt who the winner was, but after the stunt that Chris Sabin pulled by faking that leg injury to win the match, AJ Styles definitely has a legitimate claim to a rematch and it looks like Shelley knew that from the way he angrily left the ring. Just when he thought he could put this drama to rest, it looks like it’s only just beginning. I don’t know what will come next in that story folks, but what I do know is that this Pre-show is just about over and if you haven’t ordered The Monster Bash yet then you’re definitely about to miss something that will be just as exciting and dramatic as these two matches were. So go out in and get your snacks, your friends, and something nice to drink because this is Joey Styles and The Monster Bash begins next.

The camera cuts away from Styles and back to the people in the arena, which is much more full than it was when the show started, and the camera slowly zooms out before the screen fades to black and The Monster Bash pay-per-view preshow officially comes to a close.

Just finished reading this, I didn't expect it at all. It was REALLY fun to read and got me hyped for the upcoming show (As long as it doesn't blow) and the ending to Styles/Sabin has me interested. Great contribution. I'm also glad to see Joey Styles getting to do something since he's not good enough to call PPV's plain mischief:

I seriously hope these continue because it adds a whole different dimension to PPV days, adds extra hype, gives others that might be left off a chance at having a match for the week, and it finally gives Joey Styles something to do! Dat no good cheating Sabin.
