*A roar of boos can be heard in the distance at the sight of Barrett. The camera slowly pans outwards to reveal Matt Striker standing by with a microphone.*



[Matt Striker] Wade... first of all, congratulations on becoming Intercontinental Champion for the second time after defeating five other men in the Elimination Chamber. One of those men was your long-time nemesis Randy Orton. Orton and yourself were the two remaining competitors and when it was all said and done, you were the one to emerge victorious. Following your win you then pr-

*Wade grabs the mic out of Striker's hand.*



[Wade Barrett] Thank you Matt, I'll take it from here.

*Barrett begins to walk away with the mic leaving Matt Striker with a bemused look on his face.*



[Wade Barrett] XWL Universe! I hope you're listening and watching this. I told you I would walk out of Eye For An Eye as Intercontinental Champion and I did just that. I dominated five other men to regain my title, just as I dominated five men at Unforgiven. I've said it before and I'll say it again... I am the most dominant performer in this company and I am the hottest commodity in this business today. You can keep all your Ted Dibiase's, your Rock's and your CM Punk's... I am the greatest competitor to ever grace an XWL ring.



[Wade Barrett] Nobody can hold a candle to my success. I have been the one constant since the start of 2011. Ever since my debut in January, I have done nothing but impress and overachieve. Nobody has had a greater debut year than Wade Barrett.

*Barrett breaks into a smirk reveling in his own success. He continues his journey through the backstage area.*



[Wade Barrett] The highlight of my year so far came this past Sunday when I finally got the retribution I deserve over Randy Orton. Over the last couple of months, Randy has put me in a hospital bed and cost me my job. But like the strong character that I am, I prevailed and justice was finally served this past Sunday when I took back my title and beat the living hell out of him following the match. As far as I'm concerned Randy... now we're even. I hope you enjoyed your few nights in hospital sitting next to good old Bob Orton. By the way... how is he lately? Send him my best wishes.

*Wade chuckles to himself knowing full well that Bob Orton will never be the same again after the brutal assault at his hands a few months back.*



[Wade Barrett] So now that Randy is out of the picture, we're back to business as usual. I am back where I belong at the helm of this company holding the most prestigious title in this business. Everybody knows the World title has become a joke when you have guys like Ted Dibiase competing for it. In the first quarter of this year, I beat Ted five shades of blue day in, day out and yet he is the one in the main events? If that's not a joke, then I'm not sure what is...

*Barrett is shown passing through the Gorilla position and walks through the curtain out onto the stage. A hugely negative reception from the XWL fans greets him.*



[Wade Barrett] But you see, I'm not at all bothered by the fact that I'm not in the main event of Pay Per Views. Because I am the main event. Everybody tunes in to see Wade Barrett whether they admit it or not. And like I said, nobody can hold a candle to my success, and I'll reiterate my next goal right now for those of you who missed Eye For An Eye... I aim to surpass Shawn Michaels' record to become the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion in XWL history. And I can assure you right now that I will accomplish that and forever be labelled as the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time.



[Wade Barrett] Speaking of that historic record... CM Punk claims he will hold his World title for longer than Shawn Michaels, but we all know that won't happen. And Punk, I suggest you get your own ideas and set your own original goals instead of stealing them from me. I know it must be hard for you holding the title which supposedly means that you're the best when you know that I can beat you, but stealing ideas from me to try and overshadow me only further emphasizes the fact that I am better than you.

*Barrett is now in the middle of the ring. The heat from the fans continues to rain down upon him.*



[Wade Barrett] But enough about the shortcomings of this company and their supposed "top talent". Tonight I go one-on-one against Evan Bourne. Evan Bourne is a shameless brown-noser. Evan has done it all here in XWL... he's a Grand Slam Champion. He accomplished all of that despite being as entertaining as a dead sloth - and it irritates me. I should be the one with the list of accolades under my belt, not some arse-kissing loser like Evan.



[Wade Barrett] I have a hundred times more talent than Evan Bourne and I don't even have to open my mouth to prove that I have more charisma. I also look the part of a champion, whereas Evan looks like a 12 year old kid in spandex tights and boots. But despite all of that, he is the one who is in the history books as something of a legend whereas I have a long way to go to even be considered to be on his level. It sickens me.



[Wade Barrett] Our careers pale so much in comparison, but tonight Evan will be nothing more than another name on the long list of competitors to be defeated by Wade Barrett. Now you, announce me to all of these people and let's get Evan out here.

*Wade hands his microphone over to XWL ring announcer Tony Chimel.*

[Tony Chimel] Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is our main event of the evening and it is scheduled for one fall!

*Barrett takes his IC title from around his waist and holds it in the air proudly as his introduction begins.*



[Tony Chimel] Currently in the ring, from Manchester, England... weighing in at 246 lb... he is the XWL Intercontinental Champion... WADE BARRETT!

*Barrett kisses his IC title as his name is announced. A huge volley of boos is aimed his way as his introduction comes to a close.*

*After a few seconds, Wade begins his exit. He turns to look back at Evan Bourne and shouts back "Is that all you've got?" before breaking into another grin.*



*An XWL logo flashes across the screen as the show comes to a close.*
