The scene that unfolds before us as Breakthrough goes live is the last thing we expected to see when tuning into XWL programming, ever. The XWL Cemetery. It was a place that not many wanted to pay a visit to. Most feared this place. They wanted to stay as far away from here as possible. It was the resting grounds for the biggest superstars whose careers have sadly come to an end. It was old, rusted and the gate to enter the place wasn’t even guarded. Anyone could come and go as they pleased. It has been a while since anyone paid here a visit. Not since the former Intercontinental Champion Leo Kruger checked himself into a permanent stay here. There was a light drizzle on this night and through the slight fog and darkness that the night brought, we saw a figure approach the gates of the place. They were covered in dark clothes and we couldn’t exactly make who they were, but we could figure out their actions. We could see them looking up at the gate, reading the rusted nameplate that showed where they were and they didn’t even flinch. The figure stood strong and showed no fear in a place like this. A couple more steps were taken to the gate and when they reached it, from beneath the dark set of clothes a caucasian hand emerged and it wrapped around one of the rusted bars of the gate and with a pull of their hand, the gate began to come open. The sound of metal twisting and turning against each other came as the gate opened but stopped once the gate was halted, the figure giving themselves enough room to enter the place, they did just that. They entered and when inside, the gate closed itself with a loud crash as the metal came together again. It startled the figure a bit, causing them to jump in place slightly, but they stayed strong and kept their eyes facing forward.

A moment passes before they begin to step forward. One step at a time. Left foot and then the right foot. Each bringing them one little bit forward into the cemetery. They begin to approach the first plot for a ‘career’ to be buried and the plot was filled to the top with dirt. Above it, we see a statue of the man beneath the dirt. He was the son of a man worth a million dollars. A former World Heavyweight Champion and we knew that because the way the statue was posed, the man was holding a stone version of that very championship high above his head. A man who was loved by many, hated by more, respected by all. As the figure drew closer to the statue, we are able to catch a glimpse of what the plaque says beneath the statue. It read the following:

Ted DiBiase Jr.
2009 - 2014

A name we haven’t heard in a couple of years now. He’s moved on and begun a life outside of the business. Perhaps we might witness the very same to another member of the roster who was competing in a match tonight. The mysterious figure stares intently at the statue of Ted DiBiase Jr for a couple more seconds before they begin to walk away from it. As they are walking, they pass three more statues but unlike before, the plots beneath the statues were still open, signifying that these men were still fighting to keep their jobs. Their stories weren’t over yet. It was John Cena, his stone figure standing with his hand to his head in his signature salute pose, AJ Styles, with his hands brought together like he would, except now in stone form, and lastly, we have the Miz. The World Heavyweight Champion who even had Maryse with him on his platform of stone The three warriors who will be battling tonight to capture the most prestigious championship that this company had to offer. We are able to see the figure flash a satisfied grin, as if they knew that the future of that division was in good hands with men like them leading it. Even if they might not agree with some of their actions. Three men who were ready to give it all one last time, one last triple threat, in a historical first a ⅔ Falls HIAC Match where only the best will walk out of Hell with their head held high, because the winner can only pin each person once, which means it introduces an entirely new challenge to a traditional Triple Threat Match, especially when a championship is on the line because the challengers WILL have to pin The Champion. With everything on the line. Bragging rights. Supremacy. Most importantly, the World Heavyweight Championship. The cloaked figure stares at the three men for another minute before they begin to walk away, like they did before with the statue of DiBiase. They didn’t have the time to stop and stand around. They had a deadline to meet and a place to be. A date with destiny. A coming together of them and possibly their fate.

Journeying through the dark and forgotten path that no one ventures down until their time is up, this figure doesn’t get far until the next monument of sorts, catches their eye. For it’s what they don’t see, that peaks their interest. A new plot in front of a not yet dug grave that reads “Rich Swann” while every career has a plot in this graveyard, some are so fresh that nothing is even there yet, because in Rich’s case, his career has only just begun. The same is said for the unfinished plot that their eye turns to, reading “Chad Gable” the man who achieved his goal of becoming Intercontinental Champion so shortly into his career, even his plot doesn’t have a fully formed statue, no as it stands all we see are his boots, with the tongues of his boots flipped over just as he usually wears them. There were two men actually working on the statue. They seemed to be in a bit of a rush, paying no attention to the figure who was watching over them. Probably because they didn’t even notice that they were being watched until they catch a glimpse of them from the corner of their eye. One of them spoke up after a couple of seconds of silence and their voice was very rugged and deep. A little out of breath because of how hard they had been working.

“The boss said this statue is a high priority and needs to be finished as soon as possible. Something about the kid becoming an overnight star. Either quit standing there or get your ass over here and help us.”

They weren’t in any position to help. They couldn’t, even if they wanted to. But this particular gravesite is so intriguing because it shows the stages of careers perfectly, because as we scan past The Current Intercontinental Champion’s burial plot, we see a fully formed statue, one that’s been erected for quite some time of a former Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler. His statue has been there for quite some time, he’s not wearing his long tights he’s recently began sporting, no this is modeled after his appearance quite a number of years ago when he was last a prominent feature in XWL. We saw a new career, a growing career, and a career anyone would be proud to have, these 3 plots symbolize the uniqueness of The Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat Match we’ll see at Breakthrough. The Earth still intact on Rich’s, Gable’s is half dug, and Ziggler’s is fully open. With one last look, the mysterious figure turns back to their path, and continues onward.

Back behind the statues of the three men who’ll be competing for the championship, they noticed broken, torn down statue of Bobby Roode. Clearly some last minute changes after a sudden change in Intercontinental Champions. The figure stops almost as quickly as they started walking when they come upon a statue of another prominent figure in XWL’s history, Chavo Guerrero. Staring at this particular monument, they rub their hand over the name Guerrero, a name that means so much in The Wrestling World, a name Chavo carried proudly as he navigated his career, and just like Ted’s, this plot has been filled, he hasn’t been seen in The XWL realm in a very long time, so long that we can only assume he’ll never be seen again.

Their hand pulls away, lowering their head and they continue onward, navigating this ominous landscape of careers ended, and careers that hope to have long lives ahead of them, that hope they never have to venture into this desolate territory. With the sounds of leaves being crunched underneath this person’s feet as they walk further and further, their eye catches something else, except it’s not one thing, it’s two. Two monuments that look quite old, there are cracks in their foundation, and even a few cobwebs formed in several places of each statue. The statues are none other than The Hardy Boys. Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy each stand side by side, captured in their signature pose. While when these statues were made they may have been one of Wrestling’s most famous tandem of brothers, the same cannot be said for the present time. Given the fact that their careers began about the same time, you’d have expected them to end together, but with everything that’s transpired between them within the last year, from Jeff’s deletion, to his then later betrayal of Matt, this symbolizes unlike their statues, their relationship would not stand the test of time. No, they don’t enter Breakthrough as “brothers” or the men that were once known as “The Hardy Boys” they step in as Nero, and Awoken Matt, rivals set to do battle.

You can see a faint expression of sadness as the figure looks at the statue that no longer reflects XWL as it is today. Seeing two brothers torn apart, it’s difficult to witness...but then again any betrayal is. Anytime you see people that were once so close, become such bitter enemies, it’s a sad sight to behold, knowing that they’ll never be able to come back from this. The silence is broken for one solitary second, as we hear a faint “Why?” come from this unknown individual. With the sounds of the night resuming, we watch this person carry on with their walk through XWL’s land of memoriam.

The figure turned their head back to the direction which they were walking. Their pace was picked up a little. The rain continued to drizzle on them lightly. Another set of statues was coming up in the distance and this time things were a little different. Two of the statues had open plots beneath them but one of the plots looked as if they were filled in at one point, only for the dirt to be dug up and the superstar in the dirt to be retrieved from it. The name beneath the statue was scratched and worn out to the point where we could no longer make out the name, but there was a name left there in writing that was not made by the people who made these. The writing some outside figure added was ‘Sister April’ and you had to assume that the scratched out name was AJ Lee. That was made even more obvious as they looked up and saw AJ…. or better yet, April standing there. The statue was a little disfigured and that was probably because it was supposed to be of AJ Lee. She’s gone though. She’s been gone. Is she coming back? Who knows. The figure then turned their head and to the left, she saw a statue of Carmella and to the right, a statue of Alexa Bliss. Coming together, they were the three women who’d be clashing for the Women's Championship. The figure turns their eyes back to the center statue of April and stares at her before giving them a nod, the words “I believe in you” being said to show their faith in April going into this big fight against two women who had everything to gain from an encounter like this.

Leaving April’s statue behind her, the person we’ve been following all this time stops taking in the sights, seemingly with somewhere to be, so they pass by a multitude of statues, one of Randy Orton, XWL’s first ever World Champion, even of current General Manager Layla who was the first Women’s Champion crowned. There’s a few we only recognize due to the fact their names are on their statues, such as Pete Dunne, who didn’t spend very long here. Mike Knox, Madison Eagles, Mschif, Marty Scurll, Johnny Gargano, TJ Perkins. Its of a mix of names that are forever etched in history because of their impact, and names that may be back one day to avenge the afterthought they became. John Morrison who came the closest to ever breaking Shawn Michael’s Intercontinental Championship record. Brie & Nikki Bella, Suicide, Drew McIntyre, there’s Eva Marie, Alexa Shelley, Chris Sabin, Madison Rayne, Will Ospreay, Nikki Storm, Michael McGillicutty. It’s nearly endless statues of careers ended, careers not truly begun, and careers we hope to see back on The XWL stage at least one more time before they call it quits.

Passing these names and faces we may or may not recognize, we come across one we do, one recently reemerged in XWL Kenny Omega. He is among  the names that had been forgotten, that made a splash and soon evaporated into nothing many times through his XWL tenure. But the Kenny Omega of today appears more determined and ready, already finding himself in a recently announced Best Of 7 Series with one of XWL’s most talented Superstars Seth Rollins. Omega was trigged by Seth’s theft of “his” signature move, and that has triggered the first match of their series at Breakthrough.

Continuing their long dreary walk through this final resting place for careers in XWL, the figure passes by a statue of Michelle McCool, the woman that held The Divas Championship more than anyone else in XWL history with 4 reigns, and this statistic is forever immortalized with her statue having its own Divas Championship over its shoulder. Our nighttime wanderer gazes up at the statute, specifically at The Divas Title, seeing what it represents as a staple in what once was The Divas Division, which now has become The Women’s Division. And while this title is looked at as an embarrassment to some of the women of today, to some it still hold meaning for everything good that it represented, and the memories associated with it.

With focus on the past, they turn and see the future...a statue of Peyton Royce posed in a way that she’s smelling a flower, representing Mother Nature’s Favorite Daughter even in a place where nature is anything but alive. One of XWL’s most unique women we’ve ever seen, who as of late has collided with someone in similar standing. The plot beside her is intriguing because the statue that once stood there is completely shattered on the ground, and the name “Athena” has begun the stages of being scratched out in favor of the name of the woman this plot will represent going forward, Ember Moon. With her arrival brought about by a full moon, she’s eclipsed who she once was. But these two women aren’t the only representations of the future of The Women in XWL tonight, no there’s also a statue of Ruby Riot, the woman that so quickly into her XWL career won The Miss Money in The Bank Ladder Match, in fact it all coincided so fast that when her statue was made, they included The Money in The Bank Briefcase, firmly held in her statue’s hand as it raises it to the sky. And just like Ember’s plot, there’s no statue on the one beside Ruby, only the name “Tamina.”

On a night as dark and gloomy as this, nothing stands out at first glance, but when this individual turns away from Ruby’s statue, it’s impossible to not notice a statue glowing in the not so far distance, so much so that their pace quickens just slightly in order to see what is illuminating this desolate and depressing environment, and that’s when we see it, Matt Sydal. His statue appears to have been coated in gold paint in order to truly capture his career is stood today, The Golden Ticket of XWL. It’s especially interesting to see such a huge contrasts in his statue, compared to others, including the one beside him, Dean Ambrose, who much like its real life counterpart is gritty and disheveled even when captured in stone. Two men so opposite in Sydal & Ambrose, even when stood as statues.

Panning over just a few plots away, we see a statue befitting a “god” a “Wrestling God” as JBL is captured in stone, sporting his hat, and that all to familiar smirk of his that we’ve seen especially as of late with his dirty dealings against Bad News Barrett. Beside JBL is a statue that appears to have been started on a recently added plot, where the only thing we see is the name “Aiden English” who of course is JBL’s right-hand man. These two are set to go to war literally alongside The Beast that is stood beside them, Brock Lesnar. The trio known as The Cabinet collide against what has become an “Anti-Cabinet” whose statues stand directly across from The Cabinet, none other than Bad News Barrett, the man that began a rivalry with JBL which truly began at Downpour back in May when he took JBL’s Intercontinental Championship, and quickly grew more personal with every encounter. Stood alongside him is one of his partners Sami Zayn who much like Barrett has had a rivalry with one of The Cabinet’s own, Aiden English. Having his case stolen at one point which given what it represents surely didn’t sit well with The Mr. Money in The Bank. However the third man beside them Eli Drake who recently captured The Elite Championship may be their partner tonight, but his title is on the line in this huge Six Man Elimination Tag-Team Match...and the person that scores the final pinfall, leaves as Elite Champion. With every factor playing into this match, including the natural desire to be the best, and the finale in XWL’s rivalry of the year between Barrett & JBL, this encounter certainly is one of the ones to watch very closely.

Out in the distance, the figure sees another person. It didn’t look to be another person working on the statues. It looked to be someone who was actually filling in one of the plots. It was a little confusing of a sight because why would anyone else be here trying to fill one of them in at a time like this. Our character comes forward and continues to approach the person. They turn their head up a little to see them standing beneath two characters made in the same way we’ve seen before, in the form of statues. A look of concern was worn on their features as they saw the statue in clear view. The statue above the plot that was being filled in was… it was a statue of Natalya. The other person was filling in the plot with dirt to signify the same fate as a lot of others. The dirt filled plot meant that their career was over, buried and has come to an end. The other person, the one shoveling in heaps of dirt, turns and looks over at our character. The hood that covered their head was thrown off and a heavy amount of purple locks were thrown through the air and if it wasn’t obvious who it was, you clearly haven’t been paying attention.

“Natalya, my best friend, you’re a little earlier than I anticipated.”

Sasha Banks, the woman who was throwing the dirt into the plot, plunges the head of the shovel into the ground. She reveals who this has been the entire time walking through the cemetery. This wasn’t just some random stranger. This was Natalya. Natalya is the character that we’ve been following.

“I’m not quite done yet as you can tell. A little more to go before it’s filled.”

The Boss takes a look back at the plot that is about three-quarters of the way filled.

“It’s such a sad sight to see. Walking through here, seeing all these careers that have come to an end. People who you grew and evolved as a person with. People who you have watched come and go over the years and never once did you think this would be you. You probably thought you’d be doing this until they said you can’t anymore.”

Sasha shakes her head, laughs and pulls the shovel from the ground. Natalya has a clenched fist and wants to charge and attack her. Beat her up and throw her into the plot for everything that she’s done… but her body won’t let her do anything but sit there, watch, and listen to everything that Sasha has to say. The voice of a woman that has caused Natalya nothing but pain and agony for the past two months or so.

“What’s the matter? Has it not sunk in yet? What’s going to happen tonight is beyond your control because your fate and your career is in the palms of my hands. You are going to end up like the rest of those that you passed. You are going to join Michelle, Madison, Eva, The Bellas, YOU are going to a plot that someone passes this time next year, as they struggle to remember what you even ever did. Buried Alive is going to be your downfall… "

Sasha steps close, a confident smirk across her face as she utters her final words.

“While Buried Alive is going to be my BREAKTHROUGH!

With a sinister, yet arrogant smile, Sasha starts to laugh, laughter that becomes suddenly terrifying the longer it goes on. Digging up more and more dirt and tossing it into the grave. We zoom in closely on the shovel full of dirt, emptying repeatedly into the grave that may be the final resting place of Natalya's career far sooner than any of us had expected, and with the powerful image of Natalya's grave being nearly filled being the last sight we see as we fade, we yet again are left to wonder what fate has in store for both women when they clash tonight in a Buried Alive Match.

RETIREMENT

It is a word no one wants to hear. When you are a part of this business for as long as I have been it is a word you push to the back of your head. It is a word that is almost foreign to you. That when spoke to you in conversation you have no understanding of it. Retirement -- it was the last possible thing on my mind. when someone said it to me I would laugh at them and say that I was going to do this forever. I am not one of these people who invested everything into this. That had nothing else to walk away to. I have other interests and skills -- I could drop it all right now if I wanted to and go home and find something else and become the best at that -- but I won't do that because I love what I do in the ring -- I love it as much as I love my wife and daughter.

and it was all taken away from me.

Just when I had reached the top. Just when I had finally made it. Just when the decades of hard work had finally paid off it was all taken away from me. I got hurt. I got hurt really bad and I had to sit on the side and heal. I had to wait for over a year to get back into the ring and when I got back into the ring again -- it was not the same. People looked at me as if I was damaged goods. As if there was something wrong with me. That I was glass and would shatter easily in their hands. They avoided me. They tiptoed around me. They looked at me funny and would not give me the chances I once had. I knew I was fine -- I knew I was still me.

I didn't change anything. I didn't dare slow down. I was as fast as I ever was and just as good. I worked my ass off to show the world that I was fine -- but something happened. A mistake was made and I got kicked in the head and I said something I should not have said -- I told them I was not feeling right and that's when it all ended for me. They sent me home. They sent me to their doctors who spent months checking me and putting me through there tests. At the same time I went to my own doctors. I spent my own money on different tests and they told me I was fine. That I was indeed hurt -- but if I took better care of myself I could get make a comeback -- I could get back into the ring, I was ready as well. I was ready to do that -- I was ready to get back into that ring and do what I do best -- but then they said a word that crushed me.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

They told me no. They told me that it was over for me. That they would never let me step foot into the ring again. That it was too dangerous for me to ever wrestle for them again. They forced me -- yes that's right -- they forced me to retire. To stand in my hometown -- in the very same building where my father once cheered for me and cried when he saw me perform -- they made me stand there and retire and end my career and ever since then I have held a grudge. I allowed them to end my dream. I allowed them to take everything I had worked hard for away from me. I allowed them to put me in a suit and force me to watch as others lived my dream.

So I walked away from them. I could no longer be there. Money isn't everything for me -- wresting is what I love and I would do it for free if I had to. XWL was the company I would return to. I have been there before and I had tasted success -- but success was not what I wanted. The chance to perform to the crowd and to wrestle. That was the only thing I cared about.  I wanted to get  back into that ring more than anything. I signed the contract with XWL -- but they had some concerns. They knew me and I knew them -- they knew I wanted to go full speed -- that I was ready to unleash -- but they also knew that if I got hurt under their watch it would be a PR nightmare. So I had to find my own opponents first. I had to show them that I could go -- that I was not injured -- that I would not break -- that I would not shatter -- that I could still get back up after I got knocked down and in order to do that I had to find people willing to get into the ring with me so I held a

OPEN CHALLENGE

and thankfully someone accepted

Maybe they were all wrong

Maybe there doctors and there teams of lawyers all lied to me. Maybe I was fine all along and they only wanted me gone so they good push who they wanted to be the top guy. I knew when I was there I was never meant to be above a certain level -- I looked at that ceiling and I smashed my way through to the top and they took it all away from me. They crushed my dreams -- they wanted it to be over for me -- but just now -- right here in this ring -- I have proved them all wrong. I have proved to them that I can still go. That I am fine. That I can hang in with the very best. When I  brought Hawkins down -- and made him submit -- it was just like old times and in my heart I know that I can do this -- that my return will not be short lived -- that I can reclaim everything that I had lost --

Dolph walks into the arena with his suitcase and gear. He is stopped by an XWL interviewer

XWL Breakthrough: 12/18/2017 - 1/1/2018 Guclu-ve-karizmatik-sporcularin-muca_o

Interviewer: Hi Dolph, tonight is the biggest match of your career. You will face Rich Swann and Chad Gabel for the intercontinental championship. This is your first PPV match in XWL and you're already fighting for a championship. How has your preparation been in the lead up to this match?

Dolph: Ever since I returned to XWL people have doubted me. They say "I can't do this" "I can't beat this guy" "I shouldn't be here" I hear that and that gives me motivation. Those comments make me want to get up in the morning and go to the gym and get better to prove all them wrong. My only preparation to this match was me thinking about raising that title up high. The whole week up to this night I've sat at home with all my girlfriends thinking about this night,

I have set high goals I know that but if you don't want to be the best then there's no point in even being here.

Not long ago I returned to XWL at roulette and I knew that at the next PPV I will be fighting for a championship belt, it was no surprise to me.

what got me here was believing I'm the best and proving to myself that I'm the best. So, I hope all those doubters are tuning in and I hope they see me do what I said I will do for the past 3 weeks and that is to win that championship.

Interviewer: Last week on Anarchy Rich Swann and the IC champion Chad Gable teamed up to give you a beatdown what are your thoughts on that?

Dolph: Well them two are smart. They know that I'm the biggest threat in this match so they tried and take me out before the match. Rich, Chad you will need to kill me to stop me from being here tonight. I have waited for this night for a while and now it's here, I'm even more confident than ever.

Dolph makes his way into the arena

The promo comes from oddly enough not the ring or even the locker room. But from a street. A street illuminated by a single street light. And standing under that street light is none other than Dean Ambrose. Like normal his appearance is disheveled and messy looking. In his eyes is a dark but oddly comfortable look. as if standing in the middle of the street nothing can happen to him. Dean finally smiles a crooked smile at the camera before holding his arms out wide

[Dean Ambrose]
Welcome!

Dean does a short bow before standing up and gesturing around

[Dean Ambrose]
Welcome to Downtown Cincinnati. Now, for those of you who have ever had the displeasure of being here this is where I grew up. Since becoming a wrestler I never come back here. Not because I'm ashamed, there is just nothing left for me here anymore. I think a couple of weeks ago JBL called me trash. Said he could have me back here eating out of soup kitchens again. Now most people would have taken that as an insult and gotten angry but I don't get angry over the truth. JBL was right, I am street trash. Every important person in my life has called me it at some point or another and while I don't take pride in it, I don't run from the truth either. Let me let you inside the head of Dean Ambrose for a second. Oh! Before I forget, lets not make too much noise. I've crossed a lot of people and I'm sure they'd like nothing more than to put a bullet btween these eyes

Dean walks backwards and motions for whoever the camera man to follow. As they walk away the street light they were standing under goes black. But as they draw near another one lights up. Dean stops and points down an alleyway

[Dean Ambrose]
Down there? That's the first time I ever got mugged. I was about thirteen I think and I was walking home from school the next thing I knew I was grabbed. A hand covered my mouth and my hands were held behind my back. They didn't asked any questions there were no warnings just fist. All to my ribs and stomach The first one knocked the air out of me and would have finished me itself but they wanted to make sure I wasn't getting up. And I didn't. I ended up face down and they ran my pockets. All I had was five dollars my mom gave me for the week. After one more kick they were gone. It was the first but not the last. It went on for six more months. No mattered how I tried to go home or what route I would take they would find me

Dean's eyes have a far away look in them as he recalls the events.
As if her remembers every insult, punch, and kick they they hurled at him. His fist clench and his teeth grate against each other

[Dean Ambrose]
Walking home with a bruised eye and a busted lip I ran into the last person I expected to see. My mom. My mom's job didn't usually allow her home that early. But she was waiting for me. She was holding something in her hand but I didn't focus on it for too long. I hold my head down. I was hurt. I was emasculated. I didn't want her to see me like this. But like most moms she already knew. She'd said she'd heard what had been happening months ago. When I asked why she didn't do anything sooner she repeated the same question to me. I just held my head down and started to cry. She told me to open out my hand. I did and I felt something heavy in it. When I looked at it I found out it was brass knuckles. My mom didn't say anything else besides she expected me to handle my business. She kissed my head and walked out to go to her job. I slid those brass knuckles on my right hand and I could feel all the anger and rage boiling in my heart I went to sleep preparing to handle my business

Dean clenches and unclenches his fist

[Dean Ambrose]
You ever knocked someones teeth out?

The camera man shakes his head no

[Dean Ambrose]
I did. I did the very next day. I hid my right fist in my pocket and when they followed me down to this alleyway the first person who reached out to touch my caught what is probably still the hardest punch I've ever thrown. I knocked his two fucking front teeth out. When I got up and saw the two other guys staring at me. They ran and left there friend. I saw the guy getting up and I hit him again. And again. And again. Until my fist were as bloody as his mouth. This was my survival kit. Not the brass knuckles. It was courage. Courage to not back down and to fight even when the fight was unwinable

Dean motions the camera man forward until they stop at a corner

[Dean Ambrose]
It tis the season right? Wanna know what I got for Christmas? Nothing. I've never been given a gift for Christmas. Once when I asked my mom why I never got anything for Christmas. She took a puff of her cigarette and asked what would I rather have. A new remote control race car or food to eat and a roof over my head. My mom always worked at night but she never told me what she did. One day I found out..

Dean gets quiet and he slowly stares at the corner. He just stares and runs his hand through his hair

[Dean Ambrose]
...I wish I hadn't. Growing up here it wasn't hard to figure out she was whoring herself out. My mom...the person who meant the most to me resorted to this to put food on our table? Every night she would come home at four in the morning I knew what she was doing. Everytime she came home with bruises I knew some man had hit her. She deserved better than this. I wanted to help but what could I do? Nothing. I was weak. But I promised that I when I got older I would give my mom a better life. After falling in with drugs in my later teen years I found my salvation. Wrestling. What started off as a hobby grew into passion and love. I wrestled in bingo halls and gyms. The best you get is a cup of coffee and a handshake. I spent less and less time away from my mom but I needed to. Eventually my name started circulating. I was the crazy psycho who would do anything. People started paying to see me. I was thrown on thumbtacks, thrown into barbed wire, anything really. That's when I started getting paid real money. Nothing great but it added up. And that's when CZW came knocking. Offered me a contract. I was finally making consistent money. I went straight to Cincinnati. When I came home instead of finding my mom I found some guys moving her furniture. Before breaking their jaws I asked what the hell was going on.

Dean smiled a smile that had no mirth in it. It was hallow and there is pain and anger behind his eyes

[Dean Ambrose]
The fucker looked me dead in the eye and without any care in the world told me she died two weeks ago. My mind turned to mush. I found out later what happened. They found her dead with knife in her stomach. I wondered what went through her mind when she was dying. How scared was she. Did she keep fighting or did she accept it. Did she know how much her son loved her? She wasn't the picture of a perfect mom but she did what she had to to take care of me. I worked so hard, put my body through all that punishment and had to spend all that time away from her for what? For this? I almost dwelled back into drugs. I had suicidal thoughts for months. But...something told me to drag myself to my feet. To keep fighting. Because what else did I know?

Dean looks straight into the camera

[Dean Ambrose]
You call me weak Matt. Weak is the one thing Dean Ambrose isn't. I've lived through horrors that you see in movies. Is Matt Sydal more polished than me? He is. Is he better technically than I am? You bet your ass he is. Is he going to beat me again? I'll tell you right now....he isn't. All that flippy crap isn't gonna mean a damn thing when I punch you across the face. All that those vicious kicks you through? I'm gonna take them all and give it back full force. And when your diving on top of me I'm gonna kick out. Because there is no killing the fight in Dean Ambrose! I wasn't supposed to survive Cincinnati. I wasn't supposed to learn to wrestle. I wasn't supposed to be a champion in CZW. I wasn't supposed to be the XWL World Heavyweight Champion. And on paper I'm not supposed to beat Matt Sydal. But I've made a life out of doing things I wasn't supposed to do. And it's made me stronger! So when I I walk into Breakthough and beat the ever loving shit out of Matt Sydal in my match I don't want anyone to be surprised. Because doing the impossible is what Dean Ambrose does best

Ambrose stares into the camera and in his eyes all you can see is intensity and wanting to fight. Something he's done all his life and will continue to do until he can't fight anymore. One thing is for sure,
the fight between Dean And Sydal will be on to witness later tonight

The arena darkens as a video package starts to play. The sound of war drums begin to beat, echoing around the people in attendance, resounding in their chests and filling them with a primal sort of aggression. The voice of Nero begins to sound over the rhythm.

Nero
War. It's a funny thing. It's been waged for countless centuries and for myriad reasons. It is the defining feature of humanity. All sorts of animals kill, but we as humans do it for fun. We take joy in watching those who oppose us suffer. Nothing spells out a relaxing friday night like watching our enemies bleed. This manifests itself in many ways, from football to horror movies to the XWL itself. War, whether it is between two nations fighting for sovereignty or a street gang laying waste to the poor fools on the other side of the street, has a certain elegance to it. There is a purity that can be found in the chaos, a catharsis in the terror that comes from the knowledge that any second could be the last. It makes people behave in a way that we don't see any other time. Manners go out the window. Family goes out the window. The only thing that matters is self-preservation. The question of what one needs to do to make it home.

In the darkness we see video of wars from the past and the present. The video slowly starts to back out, revealing that there are multiple screens with these scenes playing out on them. As it continues to back out, we see Nero from behind sitting in a large leather chair watching the battles play out.

Nero
That mentality leads to some interesting situations. A man that wouldn't have the fortitude to kill a fly can find themselves burying a knife in someone's gut if that's what it takes to survive. People are terrible animals. We are the worst of what we have to offer. Celebrities want to go on the Television and talk about the beauty of humanity but there is no such thing. Humanity is a scar on the face of nature, a mistake. I don't know if there's a god, but if there is he's left us by now. War is the cause of this and the solution. Our lack of empathy for each other caused out downfall and ultimately, it is the only thing that might pull us out. Unfortunately for most of you, that means you won't make it.

Nero slowly turns in his chair to face the camera. The war scenes continue behind him and the light filtering over his shoulders obscures his face in the darkened room.

Nero
That lack of empathy means the weak won't survive. It's people like me that will rise above and seize the reigns of the world. It was said that the meek will inherit the earth. Well, it's time to take it back. The man who was once someone I considered family...Matt Hardy...he speaks of war as if he knows what it is. His mouth has been allowed to run uncontrolled for far too long. His weakness is about to be exposed tonight. If he wants a war, he is going to get one.

[Mauro Ranallo]
Some strong words from Nero there, Corey.

[Corey Graves]
Yeah, but you can't get the feeling that with the minds of both the Hardy brothers, that Madison Square Garden may end up looking like a warzone by the time those two are through ripping each other apart...

[Mauro Ranallo]
There's no telling what both Awoken Matt and the ex-communicated knight of the Hardy realm are capable of in battle against each other, and...and...

[Corey Graves]
Uh, security? We, uh...we got a fan...wait...that...who is that, Mauro!?

[Mauro Ranallo]
Is...is that? Is that Nikki...

[Corey Graves]
It's Nikki Cross! The once self-proclaimed "Best In The Galaxy" is here at Breakthrough, Mauro...but clearly, the time away has taken its effect...look at her. She looks like a woman that's not all there. And if she's back in XWL...oh my god...this may end up disastrous for the women's division.

XWL Breakthrough: 12/18/2017 - 1/1/2018 Normal_WWE_NXT_2017_2017_09_13_720p_WWE_Network_HDTV_x264-Ebi_mp40363

The mysterious, unkempt woman at ringside has a wicked smirk on her face as she quickly slides inside the ring, ripping at her matted strands of hair before screeching out for a microphone, which a ring attendant fearfully gives her.

[Nikki Cross]
She wants a challenge! She wants it all! But I'm here to take it all away from her! I'm here to take...everything! Take...take...take! Here...here is your one...your one and only warning! Sleep...with one...eye...open. The monster...under yer' bed...has arrived! And I...am here...to ruin yer' dreams. To turn them...into yer' own worst nightmare!

[Nikki Cross]
Keep...keep on sittin' nice and real pretty for me. 'Cause I will take everything you hold dear and I will sit and warm my hands by the fire...the fire I use to burn your throne to the ground! A boss shall be fired! A hart shall be shattered! A goddess shall fall from grace! A princess shall be removed from power! A flower shall wilt! A moon shall fade to darkness! A savage shall be captured! A ruby shall be worthless! A champion...shall be...dethroned! One...shall rise...as the one...shining...star!

Nikki's head tilts to the right with a deranged look in her eyes. She viciously slaps herself multiple times across the face, entangling a hand in her unkempt hair and tugging hard.

[Nikki Cross]
April! April! April! You...you are no sister of mine! You are no sister to me! You! You...shall...fall. I...shall...rise!

XWL Security finally steps in, swarming the psychotic Scot and attempting to begin forcefully dragging her against her will back through the crowd, with Cross kicking, flailing, screeching at them all. However, Nikki breaks free and instead sprints out of the arena, microphone still in hand as she maniacally giggles and cackles until the sound of the microphone hitting the floor is heard, a door opening and quickly shutting somewhere in The Garden.

Breakthrough cuts to an advertisement for KFC's "Georgia Gold" Chicken, with "The Golden Ticket" Matt Sydal munching away on the greasiest chicken known to mankind.

As Breakthrough rolls into its next segment we are taken to a backstage hallway were we see none other than JBL, Aiden English, and Virgil all hastily walking as if on a mission. The crowd boos at the sight of the XWL “Mega Heels”, but they pay no attention. As they continue down the hallway JBL turns back to Aiden.

$JBL$
I can’t believe the nerve of this man. Brock knows what this match means for the Cabinet yet he still ignores all my phone calls. Well he’s going to have one hell of an awakening when he hears what I have to say...

JBL turns back to his path which eventually leads to the door going to Brock Lesnar’s locker room. JBL knocks, and to his surprise the door creaks open with his knock. It seems the door wasn’t even closed. JBL turns back to Aiden and Virgil, confused. The three men walk through their doorway and are in utter shock at what they see. For upon the floor lays Brock Lesnar. Scattered around him are three sledgehammers. The room is completely trashed. Virgil and Aiden look around the room as JBL kneels next to his newest member. He can’t believe this is happening. How did the beast get assaulted without the aid of his comrades. Not to mention that it happen on the same night JBL has the biggest match of his career.

$JBL$
Virgil!

Virgil turns and prepares for JBL’s commands.

$JBL$
Run and fetch the medical team.

Virgil bows before he leaves the room and heads down the hallway. Aiden now walks to JBL and hands him something that he found. JBL takes hold to the item, revealing it to be a note. JBL begins to read it...

$JBL$
“Good luck without you partner, your pals Barrett, Eli, and Sami.”

JBL’s face turns red with anger as he crumbles up the note. He tosses it to the ground before turning to Aiden.

$JBL$
Get ahold of Matty boy, he has another match to prepare for tonight.....

Aiden nods as he leaves the room leaving JBL alone looking down at Lesnar before the scene fades.

XWL Breakthrough: 12/18/2017 - 1/1/2018 RRg9Pk

Matt Hardy appears on the screen making weird noises as the fans begin to cheer at the mere sight of him as it has been two weeks since we last heard from him.

XWL Breakthrough: 12/18/2017 - 1/1/2018 200

.:Matt Hardy:.
OOOOOOOoooooooOOOOOOOOOOOAAHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhh.... My apologizes my Woken Army that I have no been present these past what you call weeks. As you all know my soul is over thousands years old so your calendar days are like moments to me, but you may ask yourself...

Matt steps forward

.:Matt Hardy:.
What were you doing in this time of absence?

A slight smile comes to his face

.:Matt Hardy:.
I have been traveling through time once again talking with one of the greatest war generals who have ever lived. Alexander The Great was a remarkable man, and very bright man. His mind was a head of his time, but I had the pleasure, the honor, to be shown his ideas for my given situation as I step into battle tonight with the very thing I have created, and Brother Nero I know somewhere deep inside you can hear me. Tonight, I am going to have to hurt your mighty vessel, and I do apologize now for what I may have to do to your vessel to bring you back into control of your vessel. I am so sorry that I corrupted your mind Brother Nero this is all my fault, but I am not gonna just walk away. I am going to fix the problem, and that starts tonight do you hear me Nero? There shall be no stopping me with my Woken Army behind me FEEDING ME THEIR ENERGY!

The fans cheer loudly as Matt begins speaking once again

XWL Breakthrough: 12/18/2017 - 1/1/2018 Giphy

.:Matt Hardy:.

Yeahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahhas!

Matt smirks, and leans into the camera so it is a close up of just his face.

.:Matt Hardy:.
Do you hear them Nero? We all stand against you. You and your El o ise stand alone against MY army, and it shall be DELIGHTFUL as we bring you to your knees. Maybe then you shall finally see that someone else is in control of your vessel, and this will be your wake up call to fight back against the being that dwells within you. By the end of tonight the monster that I created within you Brother Nero shall be DELETED!

Matt begins swinging his right arm outward screaming DELETE as the camera fades to black.

"Hard work. Determination. Heart."

The words echo as we come across the image of a highway. The image is during the evening, one would assume it was of tonight, showing the bussling streets of New York. It's late however so the bussling is at a bare minimum, only a handful of people caught in the image. The image glides to the right, showing the opposite side of the street. Then, we see him. Chad Gable. Dressed in a hoodie and jeans, street appearal for him as he comes walking across the street, voice being able to be picked up from the camera.

[Chad Gable]
Hard work. It's a vurtue many people think this world's lost. We see people sitting down, allowing others to do the work for them. Others, they take it for themselves. Last week on Anarchy I took for myself. I'm not one to step on top of others to make my fortune. This business, there aren't friends once you're inside of that ring and Rich, he knows that. Rich and I, there's no bad blood between us because he's worked just as hard as me to get here. He knows what it takes to hold a title, and that means doing what you have to do. Tonight, we'll do what we have to do but when it's all said and done, we'll be cool. But you all know about hard work. I mean, this is the city of hardwork, isn't it? Full of people trying to catch their break, trying to make their fortune. The city of dreams, and the city that never sleeps. I've never been one to go into big cities and feel at home but here in New York, I truly do. Because I'm surrounded by hard working people. And hard workers, they're hard to come by.

Gable takes a turn, dipping into an alleyway. The camera moves quickly, dipping past him and catching him out on the otherside. He walks into a building, the camera following him as he makes it to an elevator, pushing the button on it. The doors slide open and Gable steps inside, alone with the camera. He leans against the wall, facing the doors and begins to speak again.

[Chad Gable]
Determination. It's not enough to talk the talk, you have to walk the walk, even when the odds are against you. I think Dolph has complained more about this match being a triple threat match than anyone but then again, I don't think I have. I haven't mentioned it. Because honestly, it doesn't matter to me. This is my first title defense. My first title, ever. I refuse to allow any kind of hurdle to stop my sprint to becoming the greatest of all time. That means no matter how many people I'm in the ring with, I plan on stealing the show because I'm determined to.

The doors open and Gable begins to walk, speaking as he makes his stride towards doors down a long hallway.

[Chad Gable]
Heart. You can't teach heart. It's what my coach used to always tell me. It's what seperates the losers from the winners. In amateur wrestling, there is a saying that the first round will be won by the strongest and fastest of the two. The second round, will go to the veteran of the two with the most experience. The third and final round, will go to the kid who has the most heart. The kid who doesn't know when to quit, even when everything in his body is telling him to. That's what I pride myself off of. That's what I strive to be. That's who I AM! I am the kid who doesn't know when to walk away. I'm the kid who doesn't know when to quit. I'm the kid who wins the third and final round and with it, the match. I'm the kid, with heart.

Gable makes it out the doors and before him is the city of New York. He stands atop a skyscraper it would seem, staring down on the City that never sleeps, smirking as he does. The city still rushing away beneath him, lights illuminating every inch of the city. Gable turns to the camera, nodding with a smile on his face.

[Chad Gable]
Tonight, I walk out in front of the Big Apple for the world to see and tonight, I'm walking back out, with MY Intercontinental Championship.

With that, we cut to a hype video for the Buried Alive Match that is soon to come in the evening.

[Corey Graves]
Is Sydal trying to kill Dean Ambrose? Is the theme of this PPV to kill your opponent?!

[Mauro Ranallo]
With how physical of a match these two have had I think Matt just wants to be sure that he ends it

Dean lies motionless in the wreckage of the table as Matt reaches the top of the ladder. He stands on the top of it and stares down at his adversary. To a normal man the height alone would scare him off.
But moments like this are what Sydal lives for. The crowd scream for the Golden one as he takes a deep breath. Dean faded out at the point he was driven through the table. Something told him to open his eyes. As Dean opens his eyes he see Matt Sydal soaring through the air. On instinct Ambrose roll to his left which takes him out of the ring and to the floor below. This leaves Sydal with nowhere to go but the mat

[Corey Graves]
Oh my god did the see the way Sydal just bounced off the mat?

[Mauro Ranallo]
See it? I heard it!

Dean meanwhile is slowly digging underneath the ring for something. He pulls out another table and grins to himself. Ambrose slides it into the ring slowly due to wear and tear this match has put on his body. Dean lifts the table and steps over Sydal's body. He pushes the ladder over with his foot knocking into into a different corner

[Mauro Ranallo]
I don't get it, why doesn't Dean just pin him right now? I doubt Sydal would kick out

Dean sets the table up in the middle of the ring. He digs around in his pocket before finding what he's looking for. A match! Dean laughs a little to himself as he lights the match on the bottom of his shoe and lights the table on fire

[Corey Graves]
I think that's why Mauro

Dean limps towards Sydal, grabbing him by his hair and draggiing him to his feet. Dean leads Sydal towards a corner before turning him around. Dean hooks the arms of Sydal and with a show of power climbs Sydal and himself to the second rope!

[Corey Graves]
Dean Ambrose is gonna kill Matt Sydal tonight

[Mauro Ranallo]
Dean! This has gone far enough! Don't do this!

Dean eyes light up with a wicked gleam as he sends Sydal and himself through the flaming table with a Hook & Ladder! Dean of course falls through the table but Sydal takes the brunt of the punishment falling face first. The medics at ringside waste no time getting in there with fire extinguishers. By the time the foam has started to clear up Dean is laying on top of Sydal, neither moving. The ref slides into position

Dean groggily stands, on shaky legs, from Matt Sydal. The ref tries to raise his hand but Dean simply fall back to the mat. He slowly rolls out of the ring and begins his ascent of the ramp. Dean has done what he promised he could do. He beat Matt Sydal one on one with no help from the Bullet Club. Though some would say Dean had the advantage in an extreme rules match it was still an earned victory. Medics are checking on Sydal who is just now coming to as Dean holds up the 'Too Sweet' as the camera fades to black

{Corey Graves}
He’s done it! JBL has done it! He just captured the Elite Championship.

{Mauro Ranallo}
No.....I can’t believe this is happening.

{Corey Graves}
Start believing Mauro because it’s happening. JBL proved all the nay sayers wrong right here tonight. He was left alone to fend for himself against not one but TWO opponents. Then he did the unthinkable, for just when everyone thought that he was done for he eliminated BOTH Eli Drake and Sami Zayn! He’s the most deserving Elite champion we’ve ever had!

{Mauro Ranallo}
I can’t believe I’m saying this but I agree Corey. I believe JBL just impressed the entire world, myself included.

{Corey Graves}
It’s just like I’ve been telling you all along Mauro, JBL truly is a Wrestling God.

{Mauro Ranallo}
I’m not sure I’d go that far Corey. He may have just impressed me, but he’s still no Matt Sydal or John Cena.

{Corey Graves}
Matt Sydal? He just lasted longer than the man you say is his superior, and as for John Cena. Ha! We will see later tonight in our main event just how he fairs.

JBL is laid out right next to the man he just pinned, Sami Zayn. Neither man able to move fire they just put everything they had out on the table. Both men gave it their all, yet JBL seemingly came out on top. These two men have done battle numerous times, each time the victor just narrowly becoming so. It can easily be seen however, that this time in particular, the crowd is not at all happy with the one that came out tonight’s winner and new champion for they are dead silent. Not a single person in the crowd makes a noise. Everyone thought that JBL and the Cabinet would finally get what they had coming to them, yet all that happened was cement JBL as a “top contender”. Finally, the first sign of life is shown from JBL. It’s not him rising up, but it’s his chest pumping. And through all the silence the sound of laughter loud enough to echo through the silent arena.

{Mauro Ranallo}
Is that JBL laughing?

{Corey Graves}
I believe so Mauro, he just realized that he’s done it. He’s finally finished the purge and wiped Barrett, Eli, and Sami off the map of relevancy.

JBL eventually rolls onto his side, and as he does the camera reveals him to be smiling from ear to ear, ecstatic with his performance here tonight. He slowly begins crawling to the ropes, and as he makes it to them, uses them to aid him to his feet. He leans all his weight against them, obviously still battered and exhausted. As he leans on them in an attempt to regain his composure Aiden English and Virgil slide into the ring beside him. His comrades. His business associates. His Brothers in arms. His.....Cabinet. JBL turns back to them and as they all greet each other they begin shaking hands as a sign of respect. As the three men celebrate the referee is hades the Covenant Elite Champion between the ropes. JBL turns to him, holding his hands out preparing to receive HIS gift. As the referees laces it into JBL’s palms, we see a sign of the JBL we all know and hate as he snatches it out of the referee’s hands. JBL looks at the gold, taking this moment in, soaking in the “awe” of the crowd.

{Corey Graves}
JBL is a former TWO time Intercontinental Champion, and now he's just added The Elite Championship to his very impressive resume to close out one hell of a year. I’ve got to say, this is his most impressive win yet.

{Mauro Ranallo}
Agreed Corey, but you’ve got to remember. Winning this match not only puts a belt around your waist, but a target on your back as well.

{Corey Graves}
Please Mauro, he just beat two top players here in XWL, BY HIMSELF. He has nothing to worry about.

{Mauro Ranallo}
He wasn’t by himself Corey. Matt Sydal and Aiden English were there too or have you forgotten?

JBL raises the championship into the air and simultaneously a blast of fireworks shoot through the arena. Then suddenly it begins raining.....green from the sky? It’s $100 bills with JBL’s face upon them. For a split second the crowd had actually become happy with JBL’s victory but now? Now it’s just another time they gain even more hatred for the new champion. JBL, Aiden, and Virgil all laugh as they see the looks on the fans faces as they see what on the bills. Virgil then steps between JBL and Aiden, grabbing both their arms, and raising them into the air. After a few moments of soaking it all in JBL leaves the ring alongside Aiden and Virgil. The three men turn to the crowd one last time as JBL lifts the title into the air before we go to a commercial break.

As Breakthrough rolls on, we see the XWL commentating team. They begin to speak.

XWL Breakthrough: 12/18/2017 - 1/1/2018 R8EtsDY

Mauro Ranallo
After weeks of attacks and insults on one another, it is finally time for these two ferocious superstars to square off.

Corey Graves
That's right, Mauro. These two have been at each other's throats ever since a certain international superstar made an impact attacking "The Future" of XWL.

Mauro Ranallo
Kenny Omega and Seth Rollins have been at war. They've argued over who has the better knee strike but most importantly, who is the most legitimate superstar. Tonight per stipulations put in place by our general manger, these two men will settle it once and for all as they begin their Best of Seven Series.

Corey Graves
I would also like to point out that both men have agreed that the loser of this series must kiss the winner's knee, signifying that the winner does in fact have the superior knee. After talking to the Layla earlier today, this has indeed been added to the contract.

Mauro Ranallo
Let's not forget the nonaggression clause in that contract. It states that Kenny Omega and Seth Rollins are not allowed to lay one finger on each other unless it is during an official match of the Best of Seven Series.

Corey Graves
Contracts aside, I can't wait for this series to kick off. These men are two of the most dynamic performers in all of professional wrestling!

Mauro Ranallo
Wait no longer, Corey! The Best of Seven Series is about to begin!

The shot of the XWL commentators fades to black as a video package begins to air. The video package begins with words from one of the participants in this Best of Seven Series, the video pitch black.

Kenny Omega
No one is better than me...

As his theme song begins to play, we see a clip of Kenny Omega walking on an empty sidewalk on a sunny day. We cut to another clip of him entering a facility labeled, "XWL Performance Center". In the facility now, we see Kenny participating in what appears to be exhibition matches with up and coming athletes in the XWL Performance Center as he prepares for his match against Seth Rollins.
After a few seconds of a clinic being put on by Omega, he ends a combination with a brutal V-Trigger knee strike, incapacitating his opponent.

We now see what appears to be a clip recorded just earlier this evening as Kenny is seen sitting in a dark room somewhere backstage. He begins to speak to someone sitting off camera.

Kenny Omega
He and everyone else claim I'm the bad guy in this whole situation. They say that I'm wrong. I'm wrong? That's complete bullsh*t. This dude watched one of my matches... ONE.. and he has the audacity to steal MY move?

As Kenny continues to speak, we begins seeing highlights of his previous matches in XWL.

Kenny Omega
It's one thing to steal it, but to actually claim that it's better? Get real. Everyone knows the sequel is never as good as the original. I've already proved it for the past few weeks. Sure his knee is effective, but my V-Trigger... my knee... when I strike, you don't wake up.

We get another shot of Kenny sitting in the dark room.

Kenny Omega
Trust me when I say, I have put better men out with my knee. Tonight, it may be the "official" start of our Best of Seven Series, but I have a feeling Seth isn't going to make it out of the first match, because I'm planning on knocking his f**king head off.

After making that statement, Kenny's theme song abruptly stops.

BURN IT DOWN

Highlights from Seth Rollins' past matches begins to air. After about 15 seconds of highlights, we see Seth. Like Kenny, Seth speaks to someone off camera.

Seth Rollins|The Future
Kenny talks and talks about me taking his move, how I have the "weaker" knee, I've said my peace. It doesn't matter what he brings , I will prove that my knee is superior and will win this best of 7 series. I won't be cocky and say it'll only take one knee, I know it won't.

Seth turns and is now speaking directly into the camera,
hoping his rival is watching.

Seth Rollins|The Future
You're a fighter Kenny, but so am I. This'll be one hell of a series but make no mistake, I will win.

The shot of Seth Rollins fades to black.

Intense music begins to play as we begin the recap portion of the video package.

Quote :

Slammy Awards

Seth Rollins|The Future
I will no longer let ANYTHING stand in my way! This is my time now and I WILL become Intercontinental Champion VERY soon!

Seth throws down the mic as the audience begins to roar as something is happening off screen. Rollins notices the commotion, turning to see what the audience is reaction to.

Corey Graves
What the hell is going on?

V-Trigger Knee Out of Nowhere!

Rollins is blasted with a knee strike under his chin.

Mauro Ranallo
It's Kenny Omega!!

Corey Graves
What's he doing here?!

We see Kenny Omega looking down on Seth Rollins. Omega sports a sadistic smile as he nods his head, approving of his actions.

Mauro Ranallo
Kenny Omega has just knocked out Seth Rollins!

Omega appears on the apron! Omega charges Seth when Seth sticks out his leg and kicks Omega off the apron!

That little bit of time was enough for Sami Callihan as he runs up the turnbuckle and clutches Seth into a butterfly lock, Sami jumps off the top and hits Seth with a top rope Cradle Killer! Seth is out as Sami crawls to the cover... The ref counts to 3 as Seth still doesn't move, Sami rolls out of the ring as Omega is seen laughing.

Seth starts getting to one knee as Kenny runs at Seth and nails him with a vicious V-Trigger to the back of the head! Omega once again stands over Seth Rollins.

Seth Rollins sprints down the ramp, looking to get revenge on Omega. Hearing the music of his rival, Omega finds a second wind as he springs to his feet. As he turns toward the entrance ramp, it is too late to prepare for the incoming attack as Seth Rollins is already in the ring.

Rollins unloads a series of punches. Surprising Rollins, Omega connects with a hard forearm to the jaw of Rollins. Rollins is able to spring up from his knee and drive Omega into a corner.

Rollins runs to the other side of the ring before charging at Omega on the other side of the ring. Rollins leaps toward Omega, connecting with the forearm. Rollins jumps with a kick that connects to the side of Omega's head.

Rollins looks into the cheering audience. The crowd begins to grow louder as something is happening behind Rollins. A sound similar to the first time he was attacked by Kenny Omega.

Rollins' eyes growing big as he turns around. Rollins avoids Omega's knee, stepping behind his rival. From behind, Rollins grabs the arm of Omega. Taking a step back, he pulls the arm causing Omega to quickly spin around. As Omega spins, he his met with a hard knee strike under his chin.

Omega drops face first to the mat below. Finally getting his revenge, Rollins stands there, his eyes glued to the lifeless Kenny Omega.

Last Week

Layla makes her way down the ramp with a slight serious look on her face, she's holding a clipboard.

Layla
I've decided to make this feud you too are having something special. You'll both be able to get your own vengeance on the other as this contract is for A BEST OF 7 SERIES!

The fans go nuts as Seth nods in approval.

Seth Rollins|The Future
Hell yeah Layla! Thats what I'm talking about! I'm going to break Kenny Omega and best him 4-0 with no problems. I'll show him I'm the true master of the knee strikes and he will have no choice but to admit to himself and all these people that I'm better than him!

Kenny Omega
A Best of 7 Series? Normally, I would have absolutely zero interest in such a thing, but this intrigues me. You see, if there's one thing I love about wrestling, it's the competition and what says competition more than a series such as this? Unfortunately,.. this will be no competition. This will be a beat down.

Kenny steps closer to Seth Rollins.

Kenny Omega
4 and 0, really? I know it sounds cool and it's what your fans want to hear, but you and I both know it's not going to happen like that.

Seth Rollins|The Future
You're right, I won't win this match 4-0, unless you're as much of a push over as everyone else seems to think, but I know better. I know not to underestimate anyone. You won't win this best of seven Kenny, it's just not in your future when you face THE FUTURE, SETH FREAKIN" ROLLINS!

Kenny shakes his head, disagreeing with the man standing across from him.

Kenny Omega
That is where you are wrong, Seth. You might be the present, sure... but you sure as hell are not the future. That title goes to the man that rightfully deserves it, Me! May I remind you that no matter who I face.. no matter what the match type, I step into this ring and put on the best showing that I possibly can. I push my body, my heart to limits that people in this company could only dream of!

Seth Rollins|The Future
I push my body and soul EACH and EVERY day in and outside of this ring, I go to charities for sick kids, for people who don't have anything but the clothes on their backs! I do ALL of this for all these people here tonight and at the end of the day it doesn't matter what you think about me Kenny, these people's opinions is what truly matters to me. I push myself to limits I didn't even know I had each day I push myself more and more, the one thing I have, that you never will is the respect of all these great people here tonight!

Seth asks for the contract, Layla hands it to Seth. Seth signs the contract without taking his eyes off of Kenny. Seth puts the pen back into the top of the clipboard, he then takes it with one hand and shoves the clipboard into Omega's chest.

Kenny Omega
You talk about giving back to the people, doing this for all your fans. Well Seth, I do this for...

V-Tigger!

Seth crumples to the mat.

Kenny takes a knee next to the laid out Seth Rollins.

Kenny Omega
If you really think you're beating me in this Best of 7 Series, you are wrong again. I am far more dangerous... far more creative... and a hell of a lot smarter than ANYONE you have ever faced. GOODBYE!

Kenny proceeds to aggressively sign the contract. After signing, he drops the clipboard on the chest of Seth Rollins.

Kenny Omega
...AND GOODNIGHT!

Kenny stares down at Seth before showing a evil grin.

The intense music stops as the screen is pitch black once again. We hear the final words of this video package. Words spoken by Seth Rollins weeks ago.

Seth Rollins|The Future
You call yourself the "King of The Knees"...

A quick flash of Kenny Omega connecting with his knee shows for a moment.

XWL Breakthrough: 12/18/2017 - 1/1/2018 GwbEbKe

In the background of Seth Rollins' words, we hear Kenny Omega's maniacal laughter.

Seth Rollins|The Future
...all kings will eventuality fall.

Seth Rollins' knee is now shown.

XWL Breakthrough: 12/18/2017 - 1/1/2018 AjqZBrM

As the video comes to an end, we hear Kenny Omega's laughter begin to fade.

Austin & David Broke The Word Part 1 Of 2

After an extensive video package highlighting the friendship Natalya & Sasha Banks once had, we're taken directly away from the stage, where we see it, the grave that one of them will find themselves BURIED ALIVE in tonight. There's a very large tombstone with posed portraits of Natalya & Sasha Banks, with the words "Breakthrough:  Buried Alive" just below their images. There's forklift with a scoop full of dirt hovering just above the empty grave. A huge mound of dirt also rests beside the hole, with a shovel sticking out of it. This is a very real scene, it's gritty, it's ominous because we know that this isn't just a challenge that was answered, this is ACTUALLY happening. As we get one last sight of the grave, we zoom in further, until both of their portraits are all we see, and that's when the first competitor's theme sounds throughout Madison Square Garden.

[Mauro Ranallo]
The reaper is near, and the time is now...for one woman to be Buried Alive!

[Corey Graves]
This going to be absolutely insane, beyond anything we've ever seen from The Women of XWL. This isn't a match, this is a fight for survival, where one will meet their demise.

[Mauro Ranallo]
6 years ago, Supremacy, Ted DiBiase Jr. versus The Undertaker, that was when The XWL Audience was first introduced to Buried Alive, and 6 years later...here at Breakthrough, we welcome back the most spine-chilling match in all of Wrestling.

[Corey Graves]
That's because there's nothing quite like a match where the only rule is to incapacitate your opponent long enough to literally bury them, alive.

Pink lights cast down all over the stage as Natalya steps out from behind the curtain, dressed in an all black body suit with slits across the chest, down the outside of her thighs, it's an attire we've seen her wear before, but tonight it almost feels symbolic. The friendship she shared with Sasha was something she's been mourning whether or not she'd admit it ever since Sasha betrayed her on that fateful night in Canada. But tonight, as they both prepare to risk it all, to end this, to move on with their lives. Natalya arrives as if she's dressed for a funeral, and given the type of match she's about to compete it, it might as well be. It's not long before her eyes gravitate to the gravesite just to the left of the stage. Staring at the headstone, the empty grave, everything about it, she never expected in her life to compete in a match like this, she said it herself, she was here when Ted DiBiase fought The Undertaker...she remembers the feeling, and now that feeling is far more magnified because she's actually the one competing, she's the one at risk of being Buried Alive.

[Corey Graves]
I can't help but feel like Natalya didn't fully grasp the fact that she is facing the woman who was just her best friend 3 months ago...to go from, an example that you can have friends in this business, to a slap in the face from reality that you really can't...it's rather unfortunate for Natalya's sake how everything has fallen apart.

[Mauro Ranallo]
Can you blame her? She thought Sasha was different, that sure they had a rocky start, but they had become such close friends. They supported one another, they had the utmost respect for each other. And Sasha just threw it all away, blaming Natalya for all of her problems.

We notice Natalya slightly "gulp" as her eyes are locked on the empty grave, but after doing so her head shakes and her eyes are suddenly refocused. The fear is obviously still there, how could it not be, this is unlike anything Natalya's ever faced. But we see a determination in her eyes, it feels like she knows what she has to do, and she's prepared to do it. Turning away from the end goal and back toward her path to the ring where it'll all begin. With each step, she takes the cheers echo through her and our ears, we know the fans want nothing more than for her to survive this upcoming match, especially after all the horrible things Sasha has done. But while she appreciates their support, this isn't a night to feed off of their energy, to show appreciation for their love...no, one wrong move tonight could allow Sasha's wish to come true, to end Natalya's career. The Anvilette stares at the ring, still little ways away, and at this point she just wants to get there already, to have the bell ring and start this match, to jump forward into the future where this match is over and she can finally get on with her career, most of all her life. With a deep breath in, she exhales, almost letting out a smile, knowing that this is it, she will be free of Sasha when the night is over. But as soon as that ever so faint smile appears, suddenly the devil we've spoken of herself, Sasha Banks comes out of nowhere rushing behind Natalya with a shovel in hand and chops the left leg out from under former best friend with such force that she collapses to the ramp like a tree after someone yelled "timber" falling on her face and immediately grabbing at her leg wailing in pain.

[Mauro Ranallo]
OH COME ON!

[Corey Graves]
Looks like Sasha's forgoing all formalities, she wants to get things started.

[Mauro Ranallo]
This is absolutely appalling, a cheapshot? Really?

[Corey Graves]
Hey, it's Buried Alive, that's the kind of ruthlessness you need to win a match like this.

Like night and day, the once love-filled arena of loud cheers turns to venomous boos as Sasha Banks stands over Natalya, the shovel acting as a cane to express her arrogance. Leaning on it she looks at her free hand, the one with the rings that say "Legit" and starts to mockingly pout her lips as she exclaims "Oh Nattie, when they say break a leg, they don't mean to actually break your leg!" Natalya slowly rolls over, still holding at the back side of her leg immediately filled with rage. She sees Sasha's confidence and it infuriates her because she couldn't for one night just play it straight, she couldn't wait for the bell to ring once they were in the ring, no...she had to cut corners and attempt to get a literal leg up on her competition in Natalya. "Quit being such a drama queen, I didn't hit you that hard. But if you want something to cry about, then let's give you something to cry about!" Raising the shovel up high, she shouts "This is gonna feel good, well...for me that is!" swinging it down to the leg of Natalya, but thankfully the third generation Superstar is able to roll out of the way, and the shovel ricochets off the ramp giving Natalya an opportunity she seizes right away, using her arm she sweeps the leg out from under Sasha, no shovel needed, and as The Bullet Boss is tripped up and falls on her rear, Natalya pounces on her and starts to unload a fury of strikes! Sasha Banks is doing her best to block the shots but she’s not able to stop all of them from hitting her. A few good shots got in, enough to probably leave a bruise, but not enough to take the fight out of the Boss. Eventually, the onslaught gets to the point where Sasha has no choice but to push Natalya off of her. She quickly scurries to her feet and as Natalya is about to strike, Sasha goes low and hits a low dropkick to the same leg that she hit with the shovel moments ago. Once again, Natalya falls back on the ground, gripping her leg in pain.

Sasha takes a couple of steps back and wipes her mouth, checking to see if Natalya drew any blood from those shots she threw. To her surprise, there was no blood but still, there was a lot of pain. The pain made Sasha grow a smile, a wicked one at that, as she once again approached the Hart and grabbed her by the hair and forced her head back so that she could look at her in the eyes. Her other hand grabbed her chin to make sure Natalya would get a good look at her as Sasha shouted the words ‘You agreed to this! You agreed to all of this!’ before shoving her back down, quickly going to stomp the leg once more which triggers the fans to boo on.

[Mauro Ranallo]
I get that there are no rules but this is still sickening!

[Corey Graves]
Sasha came into this match with a plan and it’s going to perfection. I wouldn’t say Natalya should’ve been watching her back… but she should’ve expected something like this. Sasha is going to do whatever it takes to win.

A referee, probably the referee for the match, rushes out from the back and comes to check on Natalya. Demanding that Sasha takes a step back, Sasha is confident enough in her attack that she saw no harm in giving Natalya a chance to breathe. Her hands were held up as she creates more distance from the two of them before eventually turning to the New York crowd. They were still livid and that brought even more joy to the face on the Boss. She asked them, ‘is this your hero!?’ while pointing over at the fallen Hart. Sasha was satisfied with her work. She would have continued, done more of an attack and really did some more serious damage to Natalya, but she was satisfied for now. A lot of emphasis on ‘for now’ because there was an entire match ahead of them for the Boss to get every ounce of anger and disgust out. The Boss moved down the ramp before eventually rolling into the ring where the match was supposed to begin but looking at Natalya, you had to wonder if she could even make it down to the ring. She could barely get herself up without the assistance of the referee. Sasha relished in this and it gave her all the confidence in the world. To make matters worse, she began to mock Natalya and her damaged limb. Sasha was doing jumping jacks and whatever she could to rub it in Natalya and the fans’ faces that she was at one-hundred percent and their hero wasn’t. The referee is asking Natalya if she wants to even go through with this match and despite the pain, she had no choice. She had to. She’d be letting everyone down if she didn’t. Her fans. Her father. Her mother. Her uncle. All of them were counting on her. Natalya told the referee that she wanted to do this and she limped her way down the ramp as Sasha still stood in the ring, arrogantly showing off that she was ready for this match to begin and end a lot sooner than anyone would’ve expected.

[Mauro Ranallo]
You can love her or you can hate her, but you have to respect the heart this woman has - no pun intended. There is too much riding on the line for Natalya to give up that easily. The fate of this division is riding on her back in a sense.

Natalya reaches the bottom of the ramp and then the steel steps. Each step up the steel was hard and it caused pain, but she was strong. She fought through it and refused to let it get the best of her. One step, another and then she entered the ring. The referee soon followed and he especially made sure to keep Sasha away from Natalya. There wasn’t going to be anymore cheap shots on his watch. Not until the bell rung. He approached Natalya and one last time, he checked on her and made sure she wanted to go through with this match. Once the bell rang, there was nothing he could do. Natalya shook her head and said ‘yes’ and the referee then moved over to Sasha who was in her corner, warming herself up for a fight. ‘I’ve been ready’ was the Boss’ response. The referee gave each woman one last look over before he directed his attention to the ringside area, swung his arm in their direction and called for the bell to be rung - the signal for this match to begin.

DING! DING! DING!

The instant the bell sounds, Sasha rushes at Natalya, aiming for a low drop kick to the leg she struck with a shovel just minutes ago, but Natalya is able to avoid it, or so she thought...because what seemed like Sasha going back to what she started, soon became something entirely different when she used the momentum she had to slide at Natalya yes, but not for a dropkick, no...she slid in between her legs, rising back up behind her, and leaps up driving both knees into the back of The Anvilette. As if all apart of some perfect plan that’s worked out exactly as she wanted it to thus far, Natalya’s instability from her leg causes her to easily stumble with the added weight of Sasha mounted on her knee, and makes it impossible to avoid what came next. Sasha pulled Natalya down to the canvas, flipping over her, and LOCKING IN THE BANK STATEMENT! Sasha’s not skipping any beats or taking her time, no she’s going hard because she has no intention of going into that grave. The arrogance is riddled all over her face as she cranks back the pressure on Natalya’s neck. But this isn’t a traditional match, all the referee can do is stand there and watch as Sasha punishes Natalya with her best shot straight from the get go. There is no giving up, there is no passing out and being saved from the official. No, Sasha can have this locked in for as long as she deems necessary, until Natalya is out and she can chuck her lifeless corpse into the grave just off the stage.

[Corey Graves]
This is what makes Sasha Banks so good, she challenged Natalya to this match, and she has executed everything flawlessly thus far to ensure she isn’t the one that’s Buried Alive.

[Mauro Ranallo]
If you ask me I’d say she’s afraid, that’s why she’s gone so hard before it even began, I see fear in her eyes, masked by what she’d like us to believe is superiority.

[Corey Graves]
Of course she’s afraid Mauro, there’s a grave right up on that stage with either of their names on it!

While this is a very painful hold, and usually it’s what seals the deal on a victory for Banks, this match just got underway, and with everything Natalya has prepared herself for, she isn’t about to go down this quickly, or that easily. The pressure is difficult to endure but Natalya as if deja vu from the last edition of Anarchy, uses her expert mat technicality to push off and try to roll herself and Sasha to the ropes, which won’t force a break but can give her an easy exit to this situation if she could get under the bottom rope and use the ropes to push Banks off of her. But while she’s technically sound, Sasha herself is as well. The moment the first roll happens and it’s completed, Sasha shakes her head and shouts “I don’t think so!” before placing her foot on the bottom rope and using that position to push her and Natalya off into a roll of her own, that puts them back where they started. This of course causes the audience to boo even more, while yes it’s a testament to the ability Sasha possesses to render Natalya’s quick thinking utterly useless by using her own, the fans after after everything Sasha has done to Natalya have zero desire in seeing her succeed on this night. They don’t care to appreciate her craftiness, they just want to see Natalya show Sasha that she’s not as in control as she thinks, but as the seconds go on and Sasha’s submission is still very much intact, it’s hard to argue that she isn’t in absolute control.

[Mauro Ranallo]
This is just difficult to watch, Sasha’s been one step ahead since Natalya first started to walk down that ramp.

[Corey Graves]
She knew what type of match she was stepping into, and while Natalya may have been present on the night Ted DiBiase & The Undertaker fought in this match 6 years ago, I don’t think her memory has served her enough to realize that everything she knows about the makings of a match need to be thrown out completely. This is a fight for survival, and she’s almost making it too easy for Sasha to dispose of her once and for all.

Natalya claws at the mat, trying to crawl to the ropes, she just needs to get there, to use the ropes as her ally and get free of Sasha, but The Boss is literally in full control. The moment Natalya’s within grasp of the ropes, Sasha once again places her foot on the bottom rope, preparing to push off, when suddenly Natalya takes a trick out of her former best friend’s bag when she stops reaching for the ropes, since it won’t force a break anyways it’d just give her a chance to distance herself. And instead raises her arm up and begins to repeatedly ram it into the foot of Sasha Banks. Firing away up and down like a woman reeking of desperation Natalya lands several shots, which not only catch Sasha off guard, but the pain from an elbow crashing down into her foot over and over loosens her hold over Natalya just enough so that Natalya can grab the bottom rope with both hands, then with all of her strength yanks on them, propelling herself, but most importantly Sasha at them in a gutsy display that causes Sasha’s throat to ricochet right off of the second rope, and at last, Natalya is free!

[Mauro Ranallo]
These women know each other so well, which you wouldn’t think would matter in a match like this given it’s uncharted territory for the both of them, but that right there...that was experience paying off. Sasha is usually the one that in that situation would start to stomp on the hand of her victim to prevent them from grabbing the rope, and Natalya just put her own twist on that strategy to find the opening she desperately needed.

[Corey Graves]
I’ve gotta give it to her that was smart, she’s going to need to continue to do things like that if she hopes to avoid being chucked into that grave.

Momentarily stunned, Sasha profusely coughs grabbing at her throat, allowing Natalya to take a second of a breather, trying to figure out how to capitalize. The fans are rooting her on, and that energy that support helps her to roll out of the ring, then as she takes a slight tumble to the floor, still favoring her leg. Natalya tosses up the ring skirt, and begins to scour for a weapon. She finds a kendo stick, pulling out, lifting it into the air to a huge “pop!” and then tosses it into the ring, going back under for more. She soon returns with a trash can, which while she’s never used one of these herself for anything other than its intended use, which is storing trash. She looks at it for a slight moment, and then tosses it into the ring as well. But she’s still not done, this isn’t a match this is a fight, and in fights, especially ones where your opponent is playing dirty, you need to bring everything you can yourself to the table. As she dives back under, with both hands firmly on something, she starts to pull out a table to an even louder response! Resting on her knees, she tries to punch the feeling back into her leg, while it’s not severely hurt, its definitely an easy target and she can’t risk anything giving Sasha the edge, not after how horribly the start of this encounter has gone thus far for Natalya. Staggering to her feet, she pulls out  the legs of the table, then hinges them into place, and lifts the table up right just a foot or two from the ring. She needs to think three steps ahead of Sasha, and this appears to be a sign she’s doing just that. The goal isn’t to put your opponent through a table, but hey...it couldn’t hurt, right? Pushing herself up onto the apron, she slides under the bottom rope, just as Sasha finished recovering, and their eyes lock. Without a single word, they rush forward at each other, each aiming for a clothesline, but Natalya ducks, just as Sasha herself ducks, and the two spin back around back to where they started. Sasha gives a little nod then smirks as she kneels down and grabs the kendo stick Natalya introduced into the match, it’s no shovel...but it’ll do just fine.

She lunges forward, kendo in hand, swings it at Natalya, who quickly grabs the trash can off of the mat, and uses it almost as a shield, blocking the hit. But despite Natalya blocking her attempt at whalloping her with a kendo stick...Sasha’s smirk doesn’t disappear, no, it’s almost a look that sort of makes you feel like Sasha almost expected it. With the trash can still raised, Sasha swings her leg back, then connects a stiff kick to the injured leg of Natalya, and with that shot the trash can itself falls to the mat.

[Corey Graves]
She left her leg exposed, and Sasha went right for it!

[Mauro Ranallo]
I can’t believe it, Natalya feels completely lost. She’s making crucial mistakes, I can’t help but feel like her heart isn’t in this fight. I know it just began, but...to be so careless and not expect that kick, and everything before it...I wonder if while yes Natalya says she’s ready to end this, is actually in the mindset where she needs to be in order to do that.

[Corey Graves]
It’s like she can’t remove the person Sasha was, that was her best friend, from the woman that stands across from her in that ring. Sure she introduced weapons, and maybe she intended to use them on Sasha, but how do you not guard your leg when that has been the number one target of Sasha’s from the very second you stepped down that ramp?

”You’re making this too easy” Sasha grins, rushing for a low drop kick….BUT NATALYA SIDE STEPS HER! Using her good leg to push away, she wastes no time wrapping both arms around Sasha as she dashed by, then in a move no one saw coming...DRIVES HER BACKWARD WITH A GERMAN SUPLEX, INTO THE TRASH CAN!

[Corey Graves]
HOLY SHIT!

[Mauro Ranallo]
I take back everything I said…all of it!

The trash can, flattens to the mat, just as Sasha herself crumples from the impact of the back of her neck being driven into it as the audience echoes Corey’s exact words, erupting in a proud but still stunned “HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT!”

[Corey Graves]
Did Natalya just sucker Sasha in?

[Mauro Ranallo]
That’s what it looks like, Corey...she took that kick, knowing Sasha couldn’t resist an “easy” target...and Sasha fell right for it!

[Corey Graves]
Forget falling for it, Sasha was just German Suplexed into a metal trash can, with such force that it literally is lying on the mat, under her, as flat as a sheet of a paper! The human body is not meant to do that!

[Mauro Ranallo]
Well “best friends” also aren’t meant to stab you in the back so I guess Sasha is just full of surprises all around.

For perhaps the very first time in this match, Sasha Banks is probably regretting this. For a woman of her size, smaller and not as much muscle, to crush a trash can how she did, the strength behind Natalya’s German Suplex might’ve even put Brock Lesnar to shame. Sasha is down and Natalya takes a moment to shake off the pain in her leg and gather herself, looking up the ramp, to the top of the stage, and seeing where she’d have to eventually bring Sasha if she wanted to win the match. All the attention gets turned back to the Boss because the veteran knew it would take so much more than that to keep Sasha down. She was stubborn enough to keep fighting back until she had no fight left in her. Natalya navigated herself to the Boss and her fingers took a firm grip of Sasha’s purple hair and began to pull her up, back to her feet, surely looking to inflict more pain. The trash can was once again her target as one arm went down while the other stayed up as Natalya looked to scoop Sasha up and slam her back down but as she tried, Sasha wiggled herself free from Natalya’s hold and immediately created some distance between them to give herself a second to breath and catch her bearings. It was literally about a second because Natalya wasn’t giving Sasha the chance to run and hide from her. Natalya was already at a disadvantage and she had to stay on top for her own good. Sasha has a hold of the ropes and Natalya is trying to pull her off but it’s not working and before long, Sasha is able to muster up the strength to push Natalya away. Like before, Natalya doesn’t stay away for long though as she charges at Sasha and Sasha pulls the top rope down enough to cause Natalya to stumble over the rope and down to the ringside area.

[Corey Graves]
The Boss is feeling it! She’s got Natalya right in position!

Sasha looks forward, then back, and forward again. She rises from her knee and quickly makes a dash towards the opposite ropes. Rebounding from the ropes, Sasha sprints at the ropes closest to Natalya and head first, the Boss dives through the ropes and takes out both her and Natalya with a suicide dive that sent the both of them to the floor beneath them.

[Mauro Ranallo]
Sasha Banks throwing caution to the wind, which Corey I think is the perfect analogy for this very type of match itself.

[Corey Graves]
Absolutely, as we’ve continued to stress from the very second things got underway, this isn’t about being the better “Wrestler” this is about surviving, and sometimes in order to survive, you need to be willing to go “there.” And with Sasha leaping through the ropes, after no doubt still feeling the effects of that German into the metal trash can, Sasha is GOING there.

The Boss drags herself off the floor, clinging to the apron skirt as if it were her best friend in order to rise back up and seize the moment. But by the time she stumbles around, grabbing at the back of her neck, still writhing from that last suplex...Natalya is already on her knees, nearly up herself. Sasha quickly screams “GET BACK DOWN WHERE YOU BELONG!” rushing at her former friend with one looks to be a shining wizard of sorts, but as she gets within contact of Natalya, The Anvilette not only evades the knee, she scoops Sasha up off of her feet, and across  her shoulder! Not skipping a single beat Natalya rams Sasha forward, STRAIGHT INTO THE SIDE OF THE STEEL STEPS! The Boss groans in agony as her back arches off of the steel for a moment, however Nattie’s far from finished with her, no she’s only just getting started. Scooping her back up for round two, Natalya backs away, Sasha helplessly draped over her right shoulder, then with the steps once again in sight...Natalya rushes forward...and again The Bullet Boss is driven against the Steel Steps!

[Mauro Ranallo]
This is a ruthless side of Natalya that we haven’t really seen before.

[Corey Graves]
It’s just proof that underneath that “let’s all be friends and respect each other rah-rah” spiel she shills out every night, lies a cold hearted woman that’s fighting against who she really is.

[Mauro Ranallo]
I wouldn’t exactly say that, Natalya was trained to be the most destructive force to set foot in any company, we saw it when she first arrived over 8 years ago when she dominated EVERYONE. She broke every woman that stood across from her in that ring, we know it’s in her. But because of how it nearly destroyed the division itself, she vowed to never be that person again. Sasha however, her actions, deserve consequences, and I think it’s very fitting that in a match Sasha’s vowing to end Natalya’s career in, Natalya is going all the way back to her roots as a competitor in XWL.

Sasha falls into a slump against the steps, in a great deal of pain, and Natalya backs away, is she really remorse, something Sasha didn’t show her, or her family the last 2 months? No, that’s not it at all. She’s not backing up to give Sasha some a breather, she’s backing up to gather enough momentum for her next move. Sasha’s head is perfectly lined up with the steps, primed and ready for Natalya to give her the kick in the head she’s needed since betraying their friendship. Rushing forward with everything she’s got, Natalya swings her boot out….ONLY FOR SASHA TO DUCK AT THE LAST SECOND, CAUSING NATTIE TO RAM HER BOOT, BELONGING TO THE ALREADY INJURED LEG INTO THE STEEL STEPS! Instantly Natalya regrets her decision, falling against the steps clutching her leg, but it’s about to get even worse. Sasha living on adrenaline alone, refusing to give Natalya the satisfaction in knowing her back is killing her right now, props up onto the steps, places Natalya’s leg in between both hers, and then screams out in rage as she stomps Natalya’s leg into the top of the steel, not stopping at one time, bringing it back up for a second time, then a third, a fourth, and lastly a fifth time that ends with a shrieking squeal echoing throughout the arena as Natalya collapses to the floor, holding her leg, trying to shield it with her body to prevent Sasha from targeting it further.

[Corey Graves]
Back to that leg, Sasha’s strategy is proving thus far to be quite effective, just when Natalya is in control, one wrong move caused by that injured limb turns everything back in her favor.

[Mauro Ranallo]
The sound that just came out of Natalya’s mouth just now is very troubling. We don’t know if that last stomp seriously injured her, and the referee isn’t allowed to check, this match can’t end in stoppage, it only ends when one of them is Buried Alive.

Finally having a moment to catch her bearings, Sasha stands there, very satisfied by the sight of her former friend writhing on the floor. But once she’s done admiring her handiwork, she begins to plot what to do next. Does she think she’s done enough to get Natalya into the grave? No, she knows better than that, she knows Natalya won’t go down this early, so she needs to do something that will make her. She stomps over Natalya’s back, not to do damage, but to reflect on how little she thinks of her now, using her as a stepping to approach the ring apron. Almost like she’s trying to use her a stepping stone in this very match to move onto bigger things. As she lifts up the ring skirt she starts to search for something, not reaching in for long, she soon returns with a steel chair in hand. But this isn’t just an ordinary steel chair, no….this is the steel chair that she drove into Natalya’s skull on the night of her betrayal, the chair she’s shown off as a bit of a trophy since then given the fact that it’s marked with Natalya’s blood. Firmly grasping the object of her betrayal, Sasha starts to unload on the back of Natalya, swinging like a crazed madman connecting with shot after shot until Natalya’s been struck so much that her defensive position is broken, as she’s lying on her stomach, no longer protecting her leg. Sasha slightly pulls the chair out of it’s folded state, just enough to where she could fit Natalya’s leg between it. But she’s only got one of Natalya’s legs and thankfully for Natalya, she has two. Using her other leg, she starts to fight back trying to kick Sasha away, frantically flailing it until her boot catches Sasha right in the jaw! Slipping the chair out from around her leg, Natalya grabs it in both hands, then readies it to swing at Sasha….except before she can, Sasha charges at her, ramming both knees right into the chair, straight into Natalya’s facet!

[Mauro Ranallo]
Oh goodness that was quick thinking on behalf of Banks.

[Corey Graves]
She’s seen what happens when Natalya is given an inch, she can’t afford to let it happen again.

Wagging her index finger as if to say “I don’t think so” the fans can’t help but boo not only the fact that Sasha is in control, but because she seems to be getting cocky, she’s gloating as if she knows victory is already in the bag. She makes her way back to the steel steps, and begins to try and push them out of their position, grabbing the top half, she’s able to make it budge just ever so slightly,  pushing them aside, seeing no use for them in her current plan. Then using all of her might she soon pulls the flat portion of the steps away from the ring post. We can’t begin to know what’s going through Sasha’s mind in this very moment, but we’re about to find out. She grabs a handful of Natalya’s hair and starts to drag her over to the steps, yanking her closer until she’s halfway across the  base of the steel steps. Once Natalya’s in position, Sasha’s head tilts, and her eyes turn to the barricade, where nearby fans that she by proxy is “looking” at pelt her with nothing but boos but she’s been tuning them out throughout this contest so it doesn’t bother her in the least bit. As she approaches the barricade, she places one hand on the top of it, then raises one leg up, starting to climb the barricade and also make sure she doesn’t lose her balance. The last thing she needs is to slip after all. So while she may be taking her time, it’s for good reason, and it’s also quite easy to do when you realize Natalya’s not moved a single bit since being sprawled across the steel base. Rising to a fully standing position, Sasha looks around, and throws both arms out then yells “VIVA LA SASHA!” Paying tribute to one of her idols growing up, Eddie Guerrero, in a slightly disrespectful manner...she jumps off the barricade with a Frog Splash! But because she took too much time to get in position, Natalya rolls off at the last second, and Sasha’s body goes “SPLAT!” right down onto the base of the steel steps!

[Mauro Ranallo]
Natalya gets out of the way, and Sasha’s “tribute” just landed her in a whole heap of pain.

[Corey Graves]
Natalya better be thanking her lucky stars she got out of the way in time, if Sasha hit that she could have been in serious trouble!

The Boss’ hands clutched her ribs and yelled out in pain after colliding body first with the cold steel. She wasn’t like Natalya who might’ve had a little bit of padding between skin and steel. Sasha’s ring gear left her midsection wide open to take the brunt of the splat. The Veteran Natalya uses this moment as a chance to sit back, rest her aching body for a second and gather her thoughts before going back on the attack. She couldn’t afford not to have a gameplan. You had to have one in a match like this, especially when her opponent came into this match with one of her own and so far, it’s worked well. Perhaps not to perfection, but Natalya was down a limb… but who’s to say Natalya couldn’t regift the pain that Sasha has dealt? It was the holiday season and Sasha had more coming her way than just a lump of coal. As the Hart used her strength to pull herself up, she glanced over at the smaller set of steps and then at Sasha. Back at the smaller steps, back to Sasha. A light bulb then went off in her head.

[Mauro Ranallo]
Natalya has something in mind now. She’s got her sights set on those steps. Sasha may not have wanted them but Natalya would gladly use them to her advantage.

Natalya wrapped her fingers around the holes in the steps and lifted them up. Sasha was beginning to get back up but for as fast as she got up, she went down just as fast. Natalya charged and slammed the steps face first into the Boss which sent her down, possibly knocking her out cold in the process. The steps were dropped and we quickly found out why. The lifeless body of Sasha was dragged closer to the bigger set of steps. The ankle of the lesser experienced woman was placed on the steel and the smaller steps were lifted again. The fans were cheering Natalya on and begging her to do what she was about to do because they had an attire what was coming next. A taste of Sasha’s own medicine. Natalya was ready to repay the favor and eliminate Sasha’s ability to use one of her limbs. Sasha was still out of it. We saw her move a little, but she surely had no idea what was coming her way next. She had no clue until it happened. Her body jolted up and pain filled every inch and pore of her smaller frame as Natalya brought the steel steps down, smashing the Boss’ ankle between the two heavy pieces of steel. Hearing Sasha’s crys was almost like music to these fans and Natalya’s ears.

Sasha could barely move her ankle after it was smashed between two pieces of steel. Once again, she had to hold some sort of regret now. Her own plan put an idea into the head of the Veteran and Natalya gave Sasha a nice dish of revenge. The Boss had one hand wrapped around her ankle as she began to try and pull herself away from Natalya. She was moving at a very, very slow pace but she was trying to pull herself up the ramp. Natalya turned her head and saw this happening which made her shake her head, mouthing the words ‘Not yet’ before going after her. Caucasian fingers mixed in with purple strands of hair were used to force Sasha up, forcing her back down the ramp and forcing the Boss inside of the ring. This would normally be the part where Sasha would quickly get up and do something like a dropkick to Natalya as she tried to enter, but she couldn’t. When Sasha tried to bring herself to her feet, she fell right back down and to the ring floor. The Boss is down. The Boss is hurt.

[Corey Graves]
What goes around, comes around and I’m sure Sasha is regretting everything. Natalya is showing that she’s not afraid to hurt some either, especially someone who has hurt and hospitalized her family.

[Mauro Ranallo]
But Natalya needs to get Sasha up the ramp and to the grave. She’s doing quite the opposite right now by bringing Sasha back into the ring. I’m not going to say that her plan might be wrong, but I really hope she doesn’t get ahead of herself. Get this over with before you hurt yourself even more than you already have.

Natalya slides in the ring and stands of the Boss, her former best friend, who is pretty helpless right about now. She’s struggling to get to her feet and having to use the ropes to help her out. Just when she was about to get to her feet, Natalya swings her good leg forward and connects with the Boss’ ankle which sends Sasha back down, just when she was about to be in-control and on her feet again.

[Corey Graves]
Natalya is possibly looking to torture the Boss right about now. For all the torment and mental suffering that she’s been through, you could argue that Sasha has this coming. I gave Sasha plenty of credit for coming into this match with a game plan in mind but I have to credit Natalya just as much credit for being able to quickly adapt and come up with a gameplan of her own on the spot like she has.

Natalya presses the bottom of her heel on Sasha’s ankle, not applying a lot of pressure, just enough to assert her position over Banks. Sasha looks up wincing slightly, trying to swipe at Natalya but she’s just out of reach. “It didn’t have to be this way, Sasha” Natalya exclaims, before pressing down harder on the ankle making Sasha’s grimace grow. “But if you think for one second that I’m going to let you walk out of here, you’re in for a rude awakening!” Before Sasha can begin to try and strategize out of this predicament, Natalya yanks on Sasha’s hair, pulling her up, releasing her ankle...not because she’s had a sudden change of heart, no...as she grabs a hold of her locks, Natalya next uses her power advantage to literally fling Sasha up into the air, and back down to the canvas, slinging her around by her hair, she’d hope once would be enough but the second Sasha’s back hits the mat, Natalya launches her back overhead, to where she originally was, then without skipping a beat flings her around a third time, this time sending her flying towards the corner.

[Mauro Ranallo]
Natalya is just tossing Sasha around like her own personal ragdoll.

[Corey Graves]
Sasha’s awakened something within Natalya, and it’s the side that she’s had locked dorment, the side that can punish you like no other. The Bullet Boss better come up with a plan quick or else she’s going to be slung all over this entire arena.

When Sasha flies toward the corner she instinctively reaches for the ropes, trying to pull herself together, to get back to her feet, but she’s not quick enough. Natalya stumbles slightly, but still with a pep in her step she reaches Sasha and easily hoists her up, planting her onto the top rope, we can only begin to wonder what thoughts may be entering Natalya’s mind in this moment. Is she seeing flashes of everything Sasha did to her family? How she betrayed their friendship as if it never meant anything? Natalya starts to step up onto the bottom rope, trying to balance herself despite her bad leg, reaching the second rope, she starts to grab a hold of Sasha, tossing her arm over her shoulder, looking for might be a Superplex. As she lifts Sasha up, The Boss decides she’s not going down without a fight, struggling, trying to break free, she lands a few clubbing blows to the top of Natalya’s back, a couple more after that, and with an opening, she starts to slip out of her grasp, sliding down Natalya’s back, landing on her feet...only for her leg to collapse out from under her as she unfortunately landed on the bad leg. Clutching her ankle for a moment, she screams out in frustration. Wanting to make Natalya pay, her other hand claws at the mat, and something comes within her grasp….IT’S THE KENDO STICK FROM EARLIER! Furious, wanting to make Natalya pay, she grabs a hold of the kendo stick as if it were a bat, and she were at the plate, stumbling onto one leg, she lets out a banshee like cry striking Natalya in the back of the leg, over and over and over all while Natalya’s now desperately clinging onto the top rope, not wanting to fall, but the damage that’s being done almost unbearable. Like woman possessed, Sasha continues to fire away until her last shot SNAPS THE KENDO STICK IN HALF!

[Mauro Ranallo]
Mama Mia how hard did she hit her?!

[Corey Graves]
These two are determined to hurt one another, because that is what you have to do in a match like this, you need to injure them, to prevent them from being able to use their limbs to crawl out of the grave once you put them in it, you need to destroy them and that’s what they have done thus far.

Tossing the two pieces of what once was a kendo stick, Sasha doesn’t take any time to talk trash, no she’s far too pissed off for that. Hopping over to her, she grabs a fistful of Natalya’s hair, pulling it so hard Natalya’s virtually rendered defenseless, using her grasp to lie her former friend across the second rope. Perfectly positioned for her signature double knee drop to the ribs. With a deep breath, knowing this is going to hurt her slightly as well, Sasha gingerly steps out onto the apron, then tries to hop up onto the bottom rope with her good leg, knowing she needs to be quick she tries to hop to the second one immediately after but nearly slips, thankfully her grasp over the top rope was able to save her from taking a nasty spill. Exhaustion has set in, these two have been going hard from the very beginning, but this is far from over, it hasn’t even truly begun until they’re at that gravesite. Trying again, this time slower, she manages to hop up onto the second rope, then throws caution to the wind, saying her prayers as she springs off the second rope, bringing both knees together as they successfully crash down into the ribs of Natalya, sending her crashing to the canvas!

[Corey Graves]
The Boss is feeling it, in more ways than one. That’s one of her key moves to hurt an opponent, and the added height and momentum behind that, that could have potentially given Natalya a busted rib or two.

[Mauro Ranallo]
But as we see, while it was effective in hurting Natalya, Sasha paid a little price for that as well.

Sasha isn’t able to maintain her balance following the move though as she also falls down to the canvas. Between exhaustion and the struggle it was to carry the weight of her body, could you really blame her? Even standing was becoming a tougher task and they’ve put each other through so much yet, despite everything, they still had to drag one another up to the stage where the grave was. The Boss reaches out and finds the ropes which she is forced to use them to her advantage. She has to use the ropes to pull herself up because Sasha couldn’t do it on her own. She glanced out into the crowd and most of them were booing, a lot of them were sitting there in awe. Without any doubts, these two women have put on one hell of a match so far and there was so much more to it.

[Mauro Ranallo]
From the start of this match until now, both women have changed so much. Sasha’s confidence isn’t what it was. Natalya is putting up more of a fight than expected because even after that move, she’s still moving.

Sasha turns her head and sees that the veteran is still moving. After everything that she’s thrown, every stiff shot and every time she’s hit a weapon over her body, Natalya was still moving. She still had some life in her to move. The Boss pushes herself off the ropes and limps over towards her once friend. She grabbed her by the face and dragged her to the rope and began to use the rope to choke the life out of Natalya. To top it all off, trash talk was thrown in because it was Sasha Banks. Of course, to no one’s surprise, she loved running her mouth and talking a verbal fight on top of the physical fight. “This is my time, Nattie!” The Boss shouts as she pulls against the rope which sends Natalya back a little. Nattie held her hand against her throat as she coughed and tried her very best to catch her breath again. “You ASKED for all of this! You should’ve gave up when you had the chance! You caused all of this… but I’m going to end this once and for all!” The trash talk from the Boss continued and the few fans who heard it, of course, they booed and held out a thumbs down.

Sasha grabbed Natalya by the hair and forced her up to her feet. It wasn’t easy, but Sasha was able to and before she tried anything else, Sasha tossed her outside of the ring yet again, through the top and middle rope to get her out of the ring. Sasha leans against the ropes and watches Nattie. It was a similar position from earlier with Sasha in the ring, Natalya out of the ring and an idea growing inside of Sasha’s twisted mind. The Boss glanced forwards and then she glanced back. Sasha was feeling it, thinking once again about taking a dive to the outside and use the weight of her body to topple Natalya and take her out. When Sasha began to move to the ropes opposite of the ring where Natalya was, she couldn’t do it. She couldn’t make the run without the injured ankle giving out on her. She bends down and grabs it before taking another look back at Natalya. She didn’t have much time before Natalya would be back on her feet and back to her senses.

[Corey Graves]
The Boss has to act quick right about now.

Sasha Banks hobbles back over to the ropes and grabs the top rope with the both of her hands and aligned herself up with Natalya. When Natalya was in position, Sasha sprung into action - quite literally. She flipped herself over the rope and was looking to hit her own tope con hilo… BUT NO! She isn’t able to connect with it because as she comes down, there isn’t enough momentum behind her move. The Veteran is able to CATCH Sasha and she’s in perfect position to lay her out with a powerbomb… but Natalya doesn’t yet. No, she has an idea in mind. Sasha is panicking because we know what’s about to come next and when Natalya drops Sasha… THE BOSS IS N-POWERBOMBED through the table that was brought into the match earlier. The crowd explodes in cheers as the Boss is once again taken out after that devastating maneuver.

[Mauro Ranallo]
MAMA MIA! Sasha is OUT after that! She just got slammed through that table and that has to be it. Natalya has to get Sasha up that ramp. This is her moment. This is her chance. She needs to take advantage of this.

[Corey Graves]
She just broke her in half, if they were at that grave right now it’d be all over!

Austin & David Broke The Word Limit Part 2 Of 2

As Sasha lies on the floor, pieces of the table embedded in her spine, the audience breaks out in an overwhelming dual chant. “LET’S GO NATTIE!” one half of the arena chants, “BURY SASHA!” the other half follow suits, these two chants perk up Natalya’s ears, she may be exhausted, she may have just powerbombed Sasha through a table out of nowhere, but she doesn’t have the luxury to take a breather, not yet, not until Sasha is in that grave and she is buried alive. Clearly the more powerful of the two, Natalya bends down, hoisting The Boss over her shoulder, and it’s very clear how bad of a position Sasha is in. Her arms and legs dangle as if there's very little life left in them, she’s out, she’s hurt, she’s done. But while Natalya wishes she could sprint around the ring, and up the ramp, and easily fling her former best friend into the empty grave, she’s dealing with a leg injury that she needs to be smart with. So she begins to hobble toward the ramp, gingerly making her way around the ring, with as much of a pep in her step as she could possibly be able to have at this point. Still the chant remains strong, fans are 100% in Natalya’s corner, they know this could very well be it, and since they can’t physically hop the barricade and help Natalya carry Sasha up to the grave themselves, they’re chanting so loudly to give Natalya the only support they can. They don’t want her to slow down, or take a minute, they want to keep her fueled with motivation to continue the long painful walk ahead.

[Corey Graves]
Sasha’s in a bad way right now, she hasn’t moved a muscle since that powerbomb.

[Mauro Ranallo]
Which you have to admit there’s a semblance of irony there considering that powerbomb is what ignited their rivalry back in Sasha’s first months as an XWL Superstar. She tried to defame Natalya’s name, claiming she was reckless, that she was a danger to the division due to her lack of professionalism, which of course was entirely unfounded. But I just find it funny that the very move that was so innocently done back then, was just utilized in a way that almost makes Sasha’s words come back to haunt her. And that very move could have spelled the end, the move that started it all, may be the move that ends it once and for all.

[Corey Graves]
I mean sure maybe that makes sense, but to me all I think went through Natalya’s head is, oh Sasha’s launching herself on me, I should catch her and hey, look at this table I set up in the beginning of the match, I’m glad I did that so I can now drive Sasha through it with all of her momentum used against her.

Natalya passes by the steps that were utilized by both women in big ways, she passes the chair still stained with her blood, she passes the broken kendo stick, all on her way to finally now reaching the bottom of the ramp, the last obstacle in her way until she’s at the grave. Limping very noticeably, she soldiers on, refusing to stop, knowing that every second that passes is only going to give Sasha an opportunity to recover, something she can’t afford to happen. With a slight stumble as she passes the metal plate, she stops for a second, and unfortunately for Natalya, that second was one second too long because suddenly like a panicked animal in the grasp of a predator, she starts to flail and scream, clawing at Natalya’s back, clubbing away with slaps, and fists, she’s literally having a panic attack as she notices she’s being carried up the ramp, and away from the ring, that means Natalya knows she has her, but not if Sasha has anything to say about it. Continuing to fire away with every kind of strike she can do in a predicament such as this, Sasha finally lands one hard clubbing fist to the small of Natalya’s back, and that’s all she needed...her grip loosens, and Sasha being the opportunist she is, wraps her arm around her former friend’s head, then uses all of her body weight to overpower the stunned Natalya bringing her down and spiking her into the steel plate of the ramp with a sickening implant esque DDT!

[Mauro Ranallo]
GOOD LORD WHAT A DDT!

[Corey Graves]
If you thought The Bullet Boss was going to roll over and give up, you don’t know Sasha Banks, one of the most, if not the most LEGIT SUPERSTAR in all of XWL.

[Mauro Ranallo]
The journey was long, apparently too long because Sasha Banks was able to recover, and what a recovery indeed, that DDT just drilled the top of Natalya’s skull into that steel plate, absolutely brutal.

[Corey Graves]
This is where the match truly begins, once they’re up on that stage, it’s really anyone’s match.

The Hart’s head took the brunt of the damage but Sasha Banks’ back took a good hit as well. Her back crashed down onto the steel and the pain was visible as she clutched her lower back and yelled out in pain. She had to sit there for a second to recover and collect herself before she could do anything else. The Boss took a second to sit there, numb the pain and collect herself before she began to pull herself back up. Even that was a struggle from everything she’s done this match. From having her ankle smashed by the steps, probably breaking the bone in there, to being put through the table, the Boss was in more pain than she’s ever been in. Sasha looks down at her friend,t then at the pile of dirt at the top of the stage before turning her head back to Natalya. The Boss limped over and tangled her fingers in the blonde’s hair and began to pull Natalya, forcing her to come with her as Sasha began to start what her ex-best friend was trying to finish. They were getting closer and closer to the top of the ramp where the big pile of dirt was. The steel on the floor began to form specs of darkness from looses particles of dirt that fell a little far from the pile that was formed earlier before the match began.

[Mauro Ranallo]
It’s starting to get a little hard for us to cover this match, Ladies and Gentlemen. These women have finally made their way up to the stage and this match has to be coming to an end soon… at least we hope. These women have done so much damage to each other that it’s becoming sick to watch them put themselves through this torture.

Sasha pushes her ex-best friend down to the steel and fully turns her attention to the dirt. The giant pile of it that stood in front of her was quite the intimidating thing considering one of them was going to be placed inside of that by the end of this. That bulldozer in the back would dump a giant load of dirt to fill the hole and as confident as Sasha was, she was a little nervous. The lump in the Boss’ throat was swallowed down and she was frozen for a momentary second before shaking herself from that miny trance she was in.

[Corey Graves]
Sasha Banks can say whatever she wants and act however she wants, but we see it here now that she’s face to face with the beginning of the end - she’s just as scared of Buried Alive as the rest of us are for the two of them.

Sasha grabs Natalya and pulls her up to her feet and drags her over towards the pile of dirt and tosses her into it. The Hart falls against the slanted side and her skin takes a darker tone in some spots where it became stained by the dirt. Suddenly, she’s knocked right back out as the Boss comes flying at her with double knees to the back and she stumbles back down after. Sasha digs her hand into the dirt and pulls herself up the pile, climbing up until she was standing on the top of it. A sea of people in front of her, all wanting her to be thrown into the hole behind her. They booed her but Sasha didn’t let the words effect what confidence she still had - showing that as she spread her arms wide and let the boos sink in. “THIS IS MY MOMENT!” Sasha shouted back at them, reminding each and every one of them that (in her mind) this was her time and her chance to back up her word.

[Mauro Ranallo]
Sasha taking a second to tell The XWL Universe that this is her moment.

[Corey Graves]
But with Natalya almost at the bottom of that hill, and Sasha at the top, I’m not sure what Sasha could have in mind next.

Natalya’s hands are clawing into the dirt hill, trying to regain her composure and figure out her next step, but as she starts to push away from the dirt to try and get back up...her eyes shift upward at the very top where Sasha Banks stood. Without any hesitation or fear of how badly this could go, Sasha brings her hand out, shaping it into the Bullet Club’s “gun” taunt, taking aim at Natalya but...again, what does she have in mind? As she “fires” she gives her ankle a good pat and LEAPS OFF...using the height to give her all the momentum in the world as she quickly lands onto the hill, both knees gliding down the dirt at such speed that as Natalya looked up and saw it, she was helpless...Sasha’s knees collide right into Natalya’s jaw, and they don’t stop there, the momentum sending both women zipping downhill until the back of Natalya’s head smacks off the stage floor, as Sasha’s knees are once again driven into the jaw of Natalya giving her a whiplash the likes of which she’s never felt before!

[Mauro Ranallo]
I think it’s safe to say I’ve never seen anything like that in all my years of calling professional wrestling!

[Corey Graves]
Sasha Banks with that killer innovation, Natalya’s skull was driven into the stage floor, at the same time Sasha’s knees were driven into her jaw, that’s it. There’s no recovering from that, that was the killshot, and she landed it perfectly!

Horrified by what they’ve just seen, in disbelief and terror, the audience is completely silent. They just saw their favorite competitor in this match, get utterly decimated in such a sickening way that, that it’s almost hard to believe they haven’t just witnessed as Corey put it, the killshot. As Sasha steps off of Natalya’s body, she’s far too consumed by adrenaline to even think about what it did to her ankle, she knows that was it. She just needs to drag Natalya back up that hill, and throw her worthless corpse into that grave to finally end what she deems to be an embarrassment of a career. Sasha stares down at the unconscious Natalya, and flashes a smirk that says everything without uttering a single word. With a handful of Natalya’s hair, she lifts her head up, and the sight is one that makes us cringe, because as Natalya’s head rises, it’s evident that Sasha’s grip is the only reason it’s even raised.

[Corey Graves]
Of course now the challenge is how does Sasha get Natalya’s dead weight back up that hill.

[Mauro Ranallo]
It was effective, but was it TOO effective?

Sasha put in a little elbow grease, dragging her former friend toward the hill, digging her feet into it, trying to get some traction in order to try and complete the challenge of dragging Natalya up this steep hill. Which, while it’s slow, she starts to make some progress, taking the slow and steady approach, doing her best to not only make movement, but also maintain a level of caution to avoid her ankle getting twisted the wrong way as she continues pressing against the hill’s side. Much to the dismay of the arena, Sasha at last finally takes that last step, and her efforts have paid off, they’re back on top of the hill, and the grave is within her sight. Just a few more inches and she can chuck the third generation Superstar into the grave, and try to bury her alive. Bending down ever so slightly, she prepares to throw Natalya in, fling her forward...except Natalya doesn’t budge. Filled with confusion, Sasha’s expression changes as she turns her head, and sees that although she’s clearly loopy, Natalya has regained just enough wherewithal to avoid being thrown in. Sasha’s confusion turns to anger immediately, swings her knee forward to knock her back out, but Natalya side steps out of the way, and Sasha nearly falls into the grave, stumbling on the edge of the end, but just narrowly by the tips of her toes she stops herself in time. She turns around trying to act fast to defuse the system, to prevent Natalya from doing anything else, but the moment she spins around….Natalya herself completes a full circle, spinning around right in time to clock Sasha with one hell of a discus clothesline! With such force that Sasha flies back first...INTO THE GRAVE!

[Corey Graves]
SASHA JUST FELL INTO THE GRAVE!

[Mauro Ranallo]
My eyes have been glued to our monitors, IS THIS IT?! CAN NATALYA COVER HER IN DIRT IN TIME TO END THIS?

Natalya isn’t able to maintain her balance after that devastating discus clothesline and she collapses to a knee, the leg that was previously targeted once again giving out on her. The fans were cheering her on and begging for her to end this and trust me, you can bet that Natalya wanted nothing more than to end this as well. Put all of this behind her and start a new chapter in her career but her own body was working against her right now. The injured leg wouldn’t cooperate and let her get back up. Natalya crawls to the edge of the grave, looking to peak over the edge and find out if her deceiving her or anything. Wanting to make sure that Sasha was really in that hole and she was in position to end this match… but as her head came over the edge, her vision was blinded as dirt was thrown right into her eyes from inside of the grave. Sasha Banks, with a handful of dirt, chucked some up and into her ex-best friend’s face which distracted her enough for Sasha to grab Natalya by the rest and with all of her power, she pulled and pulled until Natalya was forced into the grave with her. The cameras couldn’t get a good view of what was happening right now and neither could the fans. Both women were in the grave and of course, the match couldn't end like this, right? It couldn’t end with the both of them being buried alive.

[Mauro Ranallo]
I CAN’T SEE WHAT’S GOING ON!?  HAS THE MATCH ENDED!?

A few more seconds pass when we start to see one of them climbing out of the grave - that someone being Sasha Banks! It triggers the fans to boo as the Boss begins to climb out… BUT SHE’S STOPPED! Another hand grabs the Boss’ ankle and tries to stop her from climbing out. It’s Natalya, but she’s stopped as Sasha kicks her hand away and scurries to make her way out of the hole, leaving Natalya in there. The Boss is out and she quickly moves as fast as she can to go and get the shovel but she’s not able to move fast enough. Natalya is able to get out of the grave. That doesn’t stop Sasha from grabbing the shovel though and when she turns around, she aims the handle of the shovel at her former ally and locks her sights on her. The Boss charges and looks to clock Natalya over the head with the shovel but Natalya trips Sasha and the Boss goes HEAD FIRST INTO THE TOMBSTONE! And she might as well be out cold at this point. Her head bounced off the cement structure that had both of their names etched into it and Sasha was barely moving. When we finally got a glimpse of her face, it was quite the gruesome sight to see. Hitting her head over the cement gashed open her forehead which causes blood to seep out of the gash and down her face, giving her the crimson mask no one wanted to wear.

[Corey Graves]
THE BULLET BOSS HAS TAKEN A SHADE OF RED AND IS BUSTED WIDE OPEN!

Everyone was a little disturbed by the sight. As much as they wanted to see Sasha get beaten and thrown into that grave, no one wanted to see this. It was far from being a little papercut because for god’s sake, her head bounced off a cement structure. She might also be concussed for all we know. Though, this might have been the opening that Natalya need to really take advantage of this match and close in on the win. Natalya stares at Sasha who is struggling to get up, having to use the tombstone that had some blood spots on it to get up, and for a split second, she seemed concerned… but she quickly shook that off. She remembered everything that Sasha did and how this might as well be a case of what goes around, comes around for the way she blooded both Natalya and her uncle, the Hitman, Bret Hart. She deserved this. She deserved all of this. Natalya hobbles over to Sasha and refuses to go easy on the woman despite what happened. The Boss’ lighter body was easily lifted and Natalya drops her gut first onto the cold headstone.. Sasha cries out in pain as she pushes herself off it and grabs the area her ring gear didn’t protect. The area adorned a few scratches down from the cement too.

[Mauro Ranallo]
I think this was the turning point, Corey. Everything is about to go down hill for Sasha now. I don’t think she can come back from this. She’s one hell of a fighter, one of the toughest women in this division, but she’s so out of it now.

Sasha Banks is crawling away from Natalya, diggin her hands into the dirt and wanting to get away from the other warrior who she’s gone to hell and back with. She’s trying to get away… but she can’t because Natalya grabs her by the ankle. Sasha tries to pull her ankle from Natalya’s grasp but she isn’t able to. Sasha looks back with a very obvious amount of fear in her eyes at this point because she knows that she’s at a disadvantage now. She tries to use her free leg to kick at the leg of Natalya that she injured in hopes that it works again but Natalya is smart enough to realize what she’s doing and dodges the attack, not letting Sasha do that to her again. Sasha isn’t sure what to do at this point. She’s given everything she’s had and even attacked Natalya before the match to try and get the upper hand but nothing has worked like she’s hoped. Natalya has had an answer for every response that Sasha brought to the table. Maybe it was time for Sasha to admit that she didn’t have what it took to beat Natalya. Maybe it was time to admit that Sasha clearly pushed Natalya to a level that she couldn’t compete with. Maybe it was time for Sasha to admit these words: “You win… are you happy? You win. I can’t do it anymore.” The words said by the Boss struggled to form and come out, but she eventually got there. She soon spit those very venomous words out..

[Mauro Ranallo]
Did Sasha just say what I think she said…?

[Corey Graves]
It sounds like she’s giving up, but that doesn’t seem very Boss-like of her. I expected her to go down with a fight. Not just hand the victory over to someone when the going got too tough for her to handle.

[Mauro Ranallo]
She’s been going this whole match… so to say she didn’t go down without a fight is unfair to say.

Natalya isn’t sure how to really respond. She’s shocked to hear those words from someone so stubborn and determined to win, but there was really only one way she could answer this and it’s been the same thing from the very start. “I never wanted a win, Sasha. What I wanted as a frie-” and in the middle of her, Natalya is cut off as Sasha Banks uses the distraction to her advantage and is finally able to blast Natalya right in the injured leg. It causes her to let go of the Boss and fall down to her knees.

[Corey Graves]
I KNEW IT! It was a trap all along.

Sasha Banks rises to her feet and takes a couple of steps back. She mouthed the words “Well, now you got neither” before she raised her arm, curled her fingers and let her hand form the shape of a gun - we all know what was coming next. The gun was ‘shot’ before Sasha charged and rammed her knee into the side of Natalya’s head, but she wasn’t able to get all of it. The injured ankle and exhaustion slowered her and she wasn’t able to get everything into the shot. Natalya still fell to the ground but she was still moving - not out of it yet. Sasha Banks reaches down and grabs her ankle and tries to not think about the pain but it is a little too much for her to handle… but she has to fight through it. She can’t let Natalya get this chance to get up. Sasha moves back to Natalya and forces her back up to her knees and once again backs up, aims the gun and readies herself to hit yet another B-Trigger on Nattie… but she can’t do it. The exhaustion got the best of her and her ankle gave out on her and Sasha Banks fell to the ground, gripping her ankle and trying to catch her breath.

[Mauro Ranallo]
She couldn’t hit it!

[Corey Graves]
That could have been the final nail in Natalya’s coffin, but instead it may have just been the final nail in Sasha’s.

We switch to an overhead camera view, Natalya on her hands and knees, crawling ever so slowly towards Sasha, who seems to be immobile at this point. Once more the audience breaks out in an overwhelming “LET’S GO NATTIE!” chant, trying to fuel her to the end, the end that finally seems to be in sight. These two have killed each other, they’ve spent nearly every last bit of energy they had, and with both women so close to the grave, just one move away before the other would find their final resting place, all eyes turn to the scene of the eventual crime, intently focused, not wanting to miss a second, because that’s all it will take, one second to shift the hand of fate into their favor. As Natalya finally drags herself over to Sasha, she mounts on top of her, and begins to just unload with closed fist after closed fist, pulling Sasha’s head up off the floor, only to deck her repeatedly, Sasha may be a bloody mess, but after that last trick, after that final act of deceit, Natalya isn’t taking any chances, she is going to beat Sasha within an inch of her life, if that is what it takes. If she needs to bruise every last knuckle in her fingers, if she needs to stain every inch of her fists with the blood belonging to the woman who was her best friend just 3 months ago, then that is what she will do. After the attacks on her reputation, on her credibility, on her Uncle, her Mother, her Father...her home, Natalya is a woman that just desperately wants this to end. She’s tired of being known as the woman that got betrayed by her best friend, she just wants to bury this painful memory that Sasha represents, and put all of this behind her.

[Mauro Ranallo]
Natalya is unloading every last bit of frustration she’s dealt with since the night her best friend betrayed her in her homeland of Canada, in The Main-Event of Anarchy.

[Corey Graves]
Sasha is an expert at getting into her opponent’s head, we saw it with April when she was trying to prove she had changed...but I don’t know, I think Sasha went too far this time.

[Mauro Ranallo]
Oh do you? What was it that pushed it over the line, Corey? The assault on her Uncle, her Mother, her Father? Costing her The Women’s Championship at The Slammy Awards? Hosting a VIEWING of Natalya last week on Anarchy where she essentially gave her last rites? ATTACKING NATALYA BEFORE THIS MATCH EVEN BEGAN? They say what goes around comes around, and I think Sasha’s no longer able to avoid karma’s mighty wrath.

Pummeling away at Sasha, we may not like Banks after everything she’s done recently, but it’s becoming hard to watch. As Natalya brings her fist up for another strike, Sasha’s hand had been secretly clawing into the dirt trying to grab the shovel that had fallen earlier, and at last her hand wraps around it, and in a last ditch attempt to save face, her bloody and beaten face, Sasha grips the shovel with both hands, then thrusts it forward into Natalya’s throat, provoking an immediate reaction of coughing and gasping. Having anything no matter what it is, rammed against your windpipe is going to momentarily stun you, and with Nattie stunned, Sasha uses the shovel again to push Natalya off of her, and roll into her own mount over Natalya. But she’s not interested in punching her, no, her strategy of using this shovel to take Nattie’s breath away has been stellar thus far, so why get rid of a winning strategy. She rams it back against the throat of Natalya and pushes into it, choking the life out of her, the ever so  slippery Sasha has yet again managed to turn the tide in her favor, using the very object that was utilized at the start of this match. She tried to break her leg, but turns out, all she really needed that shovel for in the end, is to drain every last breath Natalya has. Fans once more are watching in disbelief, the bloody mess that Sasha has become, is choking the life out of their hero, is this really it? Is such a simple strategy about to do Natalya in? The look on Sasha’s face is terrifying, she’s smiling...after everything she’s been put through, as blood drips down her skull, she’s SMILING. She’s got the biggest smile on her face as she continues to press the very air out of her former best friend’s lungs. Natalya’s flailing, her arms, her legs, she’s completely pinned down.

[Mauro Ranallo]
I can barely stand to watch this…

[Corey Graves]
It’s an act of desperation, but that doesn’t make it any less effective. You need to incapacitate your opponent in order to bury them alive, and look at Nattie, Mauro...she’s fading.

[Mauro Ranallo]
How is Sasha doing this?

[Corey Graves]
The word legit isn’t thrown around lightly, she truly is one of the most legit competitor to set foot in a ring. To be covered in her own blood, and somehow be choking the very existence out of her opponent, that speaks to why Sasha has been wildly successful since arriving in XWL.

In complete control of Natalya’s destiny, Sasha’s smile grows far more sinister with every passing second, knowing that any moment now, will be her last breath, will be the end of this match, will be the END of Natalya. She relishes this, she’s in a lot of pain, she’s disoriented, but none of that matters now. It will matter tomorrow, but not in this moment. The pain she feels is numbed by the excitement that is rising up within her over the realization that Natalya’s career is OVER. She has succeeded, oh sure Natalya put up a valiant effort, she even almost had her...keyword as she would say of course, being almost. No, she beat the hell out of her, she left her a bloody wreck, she may have nearly broken her ankle after that “Con-Stair-To” of sorts we saw earlier in the match. But is she the one on the cusp of victory right now? NO. Because unlike Natalya, Sasha isn’t a failure. She actually beat April to become Women’s Champion, a victory she attained at this very event one year ago today. Sasha knew exactly what she was doing when she betrayed their friendship, she needed someone to make an example out of, and who better than everyone’s goodie two shoes herself? The woman that thinks her day will one day STILL come despite it being almost EIGHT YEARS since she held a title. No, as we watch Sasha celebrate her victory as she jams the handle of that shovel into her ex-best friend’s windpipe, Natalya is nearly faded away. Her memory just as Sasha promised, will soon be easily forgotten because all she ever did is disappoint people, like she’s disappointing those in attendance and watching around the world right now, as she FAILS to do something as simple as BREATHING. The supposed “Graduate of The Hart Family Dungeon” is about to have that certification ripped  away from her by someone that has now in her head, proven she’s better than her in every way. Sasha takes this moment to gloat one last time, and drive the knife of betrayal further in, leaning in close to her opponent and uttering these last words. “Give Uncle Owen my best.”

[Mauro Ranallo]
D-di-did...did she just say what I think she just said?

[Corey Graves]
That she did, Mauro...that...that she did. Wow.

Pinned down, hearing those cold words leave the lips of the woman she once thought of as almost like a sister, her eyes suddenly pop open, her jaw clinched in fury, Natalya’s hands grip the handle of the shovel and she screams out as she PUSHES AWAY THE HANDLE, overpowering Sasha so suddenly that she can’t react, or think of what to do, all she had been thinking about was her victory, the victory she had already claimed in her mind. But those last words, the rage that they’ve spawned within Natalya may very well come back to bite her just as she was seconds within succeeding in ending Natalya. As the panic fills Sasha’s face, her jaw drops, as Natalya thrusts the handle forward with such force that it’s sent straight into Sasha’s own windpipe! A gasp escapes the astonished “Boss” collapsing backwards, falling to her knees grabbing her throat paralyzed by the blow. Her eyes look up, and there Natalya is, towering over her. She chucks the shovel away, gritting her teeth, Natalya pulls the frantic yet frozen Sasha Banks up, and shoves her between her legs, wasting no time in following up she lifts The Boss effortlessly up, she may be worse for wear, but what Sasha said has awoken something in her, something that takes everything Sasha’s said and done, and balls it up into ONE LAST MOVE! Natalya stumbles close to the grave, breathing heavier and heavier by the second, and as everyone is stunned, silently watching what’s happening, the enraged Natalya Neidhart screams out and DRIVES SASHA DOWN WITH THE N-POWERBOMB…..INTO THE TOMBSTONE! Sasha’s back cracks off the stone, as the stone itself cracks from the impact and The Bullet Boss bounces off of it with such force that she immediately collapses forward...INTO THE GRAVE!

[Mauro Ranallo]
MA-MA MI-A!

[Corey Graves]
As JR would say...GOOD GAWD ALMIGHTY, SHE’S BEEN BROKEN IN HALF!

Still seething with anger, Natalya storms over to the digger tractor that was near the grave, yanks open the door, where we see a handler inside. Having zero desire to “mind her manners” right now, she grabs him by his shirt, and chucks him out of it! She steps in, taking a seat as the camera inside shows us a side of Natalya that’s truly never been seen before. She is consumed by rage, rage that can ONLY be subdued  by burying the “bitch” as we’re sure Natalya would refer to Sasha by now, herself. She pulls on every lever within her reach, then with one correct pull, we cut to an outside camera as the scoop lowers….AND ALL OF THE DIRT CRASHES INTO THE EMPTY GRAVE, BURYING SASHA BANKS, ALIVE!

[Mauro Ranallo]
She’s done it…

[Corey Graves]
Rest in Peace, Sasha Banks.

A rush of pure joy fills the hearts of the sold-out MSG crowd as Natalya's music sounds in victory. The victory stumbles out of the forklift and falls to her knees as she realizes it's over, it's truly over, every horrible thing Sasha did, every wretched thing she said, she's finally free...she's rid of Sasha Banks, and while part of her will always hate that it had to come to this, she, at last, feels sweet relief.

[Mauro Ranallo]
That was a rollercoaster ride of a match, but it's over now, and Natalya has survived.

[Corey Graves]
Those two gave it everything they had to be the one to avoid that grave, but I think that last bit of trash talk, that last shot at Natalya's family, pushed Natalya over the edge.

[Mauro Ranallo]
Absolutely, going after someone's family is a low blow, but bringing up a family member that is no longer around, and saying to say hi when you see them....that's going so low that you essentially buried yourself in that instant.

The referee walks over to Natalya, helping her up to her feet, and raising her arm in victory to a tremendous reaction of respect and love from the fans witnessed the fight of her life just now. Her eyes stare at the grave, not sad for the loss of a friend but happy at the loss of an enemy that was deadset on bringing about her demise. Natalya is hurt, that much is clear, from her leg to her throat, still trying to recover from coming so close to blacking out due to loss of air, but this victory marks the end of the hardest year of her entire career. From the 9 months of hell she endured with April, to the betrayal by her best friend, and the heartache she felt as she was forced to watch Sasha Banks & The Good Brothers decimate her parents right in front of her, in her own home. She almost didn't make it out alive, literally...but as she stands there, just a few feet away from the grave now belonging to "The Bullet Boss" she looks to leave all of the painful memories this year made behind her, as prepares to step into the new year more ready than ever for whatever challenge may await her in 2018. She said she was unbreakable, and while 2017 did it's damnedest to break her, she stands unbroken, and quite possibly stronger than ever before.

[Mauro Ranallo]
What a way to close out 2017, Natalya has made history, becoming the only female to compete in, and survive...Buried Alive.

[Corey Graves]
I have to be honest, I didn't know if she had it in her, but what we just saw tonight, shows us that there's more than meets the eye to Natalya. Don't mistake her kind demeanor for weakness, because that's what Sasha Banks did, and she's now 6 feet under.

[Mauro Ranallo]
I'm still stunned by that N-Powerbomb into the tombstone.

[Corey Graves]
I think we all are, still to this very minute, as we stare at the closed grave and the crack on that tombstone that formed when Sasha's spine bounced right off of it.

[Mauro Ranallo]
I'd ask now what might be next for Natalya, but I think we all know where her sights will be set next.

[Corey Graves]
It's hard to argue that she doesn't deserve a Women's Championship match after that performance and considering her last attempt was spoiled by the woman taking a dirt nap courtesy of Natalya.

[Mauro Ranallo]
And after the lengths she went through to survive this match, if I were Alexa Bliss, Carmella, or April...I'd be cautiously holding that title whichever one of them walks out of tonight's Triple Threat as Women's Champion because after what we just witnessed, I'd say Natalya won't rest...in...peace...until that championship is FINALLY around her waist.

[Corey Graves]
I'm going to end this by saying something I didn't expect to say heading into this match, 2018 will be the year Natalya becomes Women's Champion, and you can count on that.

Stumbling away from the referee, Natalya staggers over the hill, to where Sasha Banks is now buried under piles on top of piles of dirt, and she just stares at the filled hole. Underneath it, was the woman she called her "best friend" but now...she'll call as a warning to every other woman in XWL, that if you try to make a name for yourself at her expense, yours will be left etched into a tombstone. With every emotion possible spent, with both us the viewers and Natalya herself left exhausted by what we just witnessed, we fade away, with the final image we see is a faint smile returning to Natalya's face.

XWL Breakthrough: 12/18/2017 - 1/1/2018 Empty
PostSubject: Re: XWL Breakthrough: 12/18/2017 - 1/1/2018   XWL Breakthrough: 12/18/2017 - 1/1/2018 Icon_minitimeSun Dec 31, 2017 2:05 am

As Breakthrough continues, we see Rich Swann by himself in his locker room, getting in some stretches before the triple threat tonight. However, eventually he notices the camera in front of him, chuckles, and turns to face it.

{Rich Swann}
Ya know what Chad, you're right. There's no hard feelings about what happened on Anarchy. You did what you had to do to make sure that you had the edge going in tonight's match. And I respect that, I really do. But no amount of respect in the world will save you from the simple fact that tonight, when it comes down to it, regardless of all the "hard work" and "dedication" you put behind that belt, it's coming home to yours truly.

Swann turns away for a second, before suddenly turning to face the camera once again.

{Rich Swann}
Well actually I guess, one thing could save you from losing that title. That little punk Dolph Ziggler. Dolph man, I just don't get what your problem is. You could've had everyone in XWL in the palm of your hand by now if you weren't such a complete and utter dick. I mean, that super kick you hit me with? To be honest, I still kinda feel it. You got talent. But with a garbage attitude like that. But don't worry Ziggie poo, I have plenty in store for you tonight as well, don't worry.  So my question to the both of you then, since I don't really need to say much more, is can you handle this?

Swann does his signature moonwalk out of frame, and the camera lingers for a few seconds, before we hear "But like, seriously, can y'all get out of my locker room?", after which the camera fades away.

April raises up, holding her right arm as the ref retrieves her belt

[Corey Graves]
Is anyone ever going to take the title from around April's waist?

[Mauro Ranallo]
Well Natalya got possibly the biggest win of her career when she buried Sasha alive earlier. Ember Moon defeated Peyton Royce in an awesome match. Nikki Cross has made her claim in that race and Ms Money in the Bank made a statement in her win against Tamina tonight

Corey Graves shakes his head

[Corey Graves]
We do this every time. We hype someone up. Natalya, Sasha, Rosemary, Alexa, Peyton, Carmella, and the list goes on. But when the bright lights turn on it's April still standing. January 30th. On that day April will have been champion for a year straight. That's an out of this world accomplishment

[Mauro Ranallo]
It's very impressive that's for sure. The woman has had one hell of a year

By now Renee Young has come down the ramp, microphone in hand. April breath is ragged from the forty minute performance she's given

[Renee Young]
April, I know you've just had a grueling match but I just wanted to get your thoughts on a couple of things. It was a tense road here to Breakthrough. Your back and forths with Carmella and Alexa attacking your right arm on several occasions. Now that you've come out on top what would you like to say to Carmella and Alexa?

April flips a strand of hair matted to her face back overhead as she turns towards Renee

[April]
Better luck next time girls. Those two are talented. Rather I like their attitudes or not I would never deny that. And they gave an effort worthy of a champion. That's what's great about this division. Rather you like them or not everyone gives their all. But sometimes someone's will is more than yours. And my will was greater than their. All things come to an end and I will lose this title one day. But I won't lose it to someone who doesn't understand what it means to be a champion. You represent the division and you are known as the best. Not everyone is ready for that responsibility. I sure wasn't. But after some soul searching I represent the division proudly. I'm not perfect, but Renee if I don't try to achieve perfection everyday I hold this Women's title

[Renee Young]
I don't know if you've been keeping count but January 30th is the day you took the title back from Sasha Banks. If you can reach that day you will have had a title reign of exactly one year. When you won the title did you expect to have this much success?

April shifts the title around her shoulders as she stares around at the crowd

[April]
Yes and no. I was...not a good person. I expected to rule over everyone. I expected to rule with an iron fist and I would crush anyone who defied me both physically and mentally. I was half right. I have been the champion of this division for a while. But I've done a good part of it with compassion and respect. Because being how I was before wasn't helping anyone. I was contributing to the problem. I pray to never be in that mindset again

[Renee Young]
One last question. Some people would say that you have overstayed your welcome. Is there anything you want to say to people who are tired of seeing you?

The crowd boos at the question and this brings a smile to the face of April. Where as once this crowd and many others would have been some of the people who wanted April to fade away now cheer for her.
A turn around April welcomes

[April]
My response is simple really. If you want me to go away...

April stares at her title in the way that only a champion would

[April]
Then take this from me. This isn't a game. I'm not gonna just buckle because some people are tired of seeing me win. This is competitive and I'm as competitive as it gets. Natalya, Ruby, Tamina, Peyton, Carmella, Alexa, Nikki, Ember or anyone else...step up to the plate because I love the thrill of competition and I don't plan on slowing down in 2018! Oh! Before I forget...congrats Nattie. I knew you could do it

With that April smiles and holding her right arm slowly makes her way out of the ring and up the ramp to the cheers of the crowd
