-/-  News heading into tonight's show  -/-

1. Bad Blood Runs Deep, But Can Time Heal Old Wounds?
This past year was home to some changes in character and morale around XWL. But none far so greater than that of Eric Young. Having returned to XWL a quiet and depressed man, only to find solace in a love interest that was Renee Young, Eric would have his work cut out for him as Matt Sydal would steal his girl friend, and his smile. Eric and Matt became the unspoken titans that all of XWL knew about and while Breakthrough went Matt’s way but not Eric’s, one can only assume what will come out of tonight when our newly crowned World Champion, Matt Sydal takes on his old foe, Eric Young in the Main Event, Last Man Standing Match!

2. The Beast and The Phenomenal One Dance, Just One Last Time?
2016 had it’s fair share of feuds and rivalries but the latter half of it was surely dictated and ran by this one. Brock Lesnar and AJ Styles. Having started upon AJ’s return to the company after a rather odd absence, the duo clashed multiple times. This would later lead them into the World Title scene in which Lesnar would capture the gold, causing their bad blood to soak onto the belt itself. Tonight we are allowed to see what is estimated by many to be the climatic conclusion to one of the longest feuds in 2016, this taking place in a Falls Count Anywhere match-up!

3. The Story Of A Boss, And Woman With A Lot Of Hart
At Breakthrough one year ago, after a rivalry had ignited between both women, solely based on their competitive nature they were to meet in a No Count Outs Match. A match devised solely to ensure that unlike the previous match between them it didn't have such a sour end that left the fans chanting "Let Them Fight" as both were counted out. However this match never took place, instead, Sasha would not show up, and she would return months later where she would eventually find herself in the ring with Natalya, and lose, only to beat her a month later evening the score...leaving us wondering which one would have come out on top at Breakthrough? Well wonder no more, because tonight we see which one of them wants The Women's Championship the "baddest" as The Boss puts her newly won title on the line against The Queen of Harts!

4. Who Really Runs The Asylum?
Just last week at Breakthrough we saw a completely different side of the Lunatic Fringe, Dean Ambrose. Having not only beaten but having broken Bobby Roode and assault Lilian Garcia as well as an official, Ambrose has been sent on a trip down memory lane. Whether it’s a consequence or to save him from Seth who is sure to be lurking, we get to relive the Main Event of last year’s Final Stand which was Ambrose’s ride through hell to defend his World Championship. Tonight he takes on CM Punk yet again inside of Hell, in a Cell!

5. The Real Face of Fear?
Earlier this year, the XWL Universe was subjected to one of the darkest and most vile rivalries we have ever seen. Leo Kruger took on Bray Wyatt with the Intercontinental Championship in the middle of all the hellfire and brimstone. This feud would have its climax inside of a hell in a cell on an episode of Anarchy but tonight, we relive the beginning of this rivalry that dictated most of the IC Title scene during 2016 by having the still ever so dark Leo Kruger take a newly reformed Bray Wyatt.

Normal Match – Anarchy 4/11/2016 Rematch

They had failed to advance in a tournament designed by The Authority to bring about the demise of Dean Ambrose, and so they were given a second chance...to face one another, where the winner would move on to a number one contenders match on the grand stage. Roman would win this match, become number one contender, and ultimately at Downpour bring about the demise of Dean's World Title reign. Can Austin avenge his loss, and prove that it should have been him?

Normal Match - Breakthrough 12/19/2016 Rematch

Alexa issued a challenge, and Charlotte accepted...they just met last night but now with a New Year...and due to the fact Alexa's hand was under the ropes...a rematch has been ordered. Will it be bliss for Alexa? Or will she bow down to The Queen?

Extreme Rules Rematch From Roulette – There Must Be A Winer

A wheel decided they would meet in a match with no rules, other than to be as extreme as you could be. However Edge would spear Cactus Jack off of the stage, and the referee would call it there. But tonight? THERE MUST BE A WINNER. It will go until one man pins, or submits the other.

Emergence 8/22/2016 Rematch Match With A Twist

Back in August, these four men collided in a Ladder Match for The Money In The Bank contract. R-Truth would defy "THEY" and leave with an opportunity at The World Championship whenever he wants it. Tonight, we bring them back together where this time? Climbing a ladder is not the goal, pinning someone is. At stake is a non-title match up with The New World Champion on the next Anarchy, giving them an opportunity within an opportunity..

No Count Outs Match For The XWL Women's Championship

[Mauro Ranallo]
Sasha's looking for that low head scissor again, last time she tried it the veteran Natalya countered into a drop toe hold that sent her throat bouncing off the ropes, this is a big risk but if it pays off it may be the move that keeps the dungeon trained challenger down!

[Corey Graves]
Sasha's motto this past year was if at first you don't succeed try again, and it's part of why she is now The XWL Women's Champion.

Sasha comes flying at a kneeled Natalya, wrapping her legs around The Queen of Harts attempting to spike her into the canvas, but Natalya using what she's learned through her years of wrestling latches onto Sasha's legs, preventing her from using the momentum to spike her, and instead....begins to LIFT her now fully controlling the move that Sasha had hoped might spell the end of Nattie. The fans gasp, Sasha screams as Natalya completely overpowers her, uses her own momentum against her, and in the blink of an eye, DROPS HER with a sickening N-Powerbomb! Dana claps shouting in support as the referee gets in position to count.

[Mauro Ranallo]
MAMA MIA WHAT A SITOUT POWERBOMB!

[Corey Graves]
This is why I'm Natalya's biggest critic, she has all the tools to be a champion, and she may have just used them to finally become Women's Champion.

The official starts to count as Natalya leans forward feeling the title already in her hands, emotionally exhausted...

1.....

Sasha's hands are dangerously close to the ropes, Dana being the still learning rookie, that is a little rough around the edges when it comes to playing by the rules...sees the referee's back turned and without a second wasted, grabs a hold of Sasha's hands holding them down, keeping them out of reach from the ropes.

2.........

His hand comes down for the three, but before it strikes the mat Natalya's eyes open, she sees Dana trying to cheat to help her, and IMMEDIATELY thrusts herself back way from the cover, and the referee looks confused, stopping his count.

[Corey Graves]
WHAT THE HELL IS SHE DOING?

[Mauro Ranallo]
Didn't you see Dana trying to cheat for her?

[Corey Graves]
SO? SHE JUST GAVE AWAY THE WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP! IT WAS HERS, IT WAS FINALLY GOING TO BE HERS, WHAT WAS SHE THINKING?!

[Mauro Ranallo]
Natalya has fought honorably this entire last year, she wants to prove her methods work, she saw her protege trying to undermine albeit with good intentions...and had to stop it.

[Corey Graves]
But it wouldn't have made a difference, if Sasha's hands did grab the ropes the referee wasn't in position, he wouldn't have seen anyway!

[Mauro Ranallo]
It's the principle of the matter, Corey.

[Corey Graves]
No the truth is Natalya just made the biggest mistake of her entire career, and now...she may have just lost the only chance she had at winning The Women's Championship.

Dana yells "What are you doing, Nattie? YOU HAD IT!" to which Natalya walks over to the ropes leaning through the second one shouting back "What are YOU doing, I told you that's wrong, that there's no honor in cheating!" as they bicker back and forth, Sasha's given valuable time to recover as the referee checks on her. Dana continues "I just wanted to help, you deserve that title over her!"  "Not if it's through cheating!" Natalya claps back.

[Mauro Ranallo]
A bit of a battle of morals between Natalya and the woman she's taken under her wing.

[Corey Graves]
If the referee doesn't see it is it really cheating? Like come on quit being Dudley Do-Right all the time...it's gotten you nowhere!

The two of them continued to bicker with one another in a battle of good and evil. The bickering ran on and on and on... until Sasha Banks took matters into her own hands. No, she didn't attack Nattie or try to go for a quick roll up to pin the Hart Family member. Sasha ran off the opposite ropes and by putting everything on the line, she leaped over Nattie and took Dana Brooke out as she connected with a Somersault Senton.

[Corey Graves]
Sasha Banks putting it all on the line!

[Mauro Ranallo]
I can't say I blame her one bit for attacking Dana. Dana tried to cheat her out of her championship and Sasha Banks wasn't having any of that.

The Boss got back to her feet and the crowd cheered for her while Nattie was left a little shocker, not once expecting to be leaped over. Sasha shouts to the crowd "That's right, Chicago!" before looking back at Nattie with a wide smirk on her face. Then, with eyes that turned back to Dana, the champion walked towards the protege and bent down to give her a small little pat on the head. All attention was turned back to Nattie as Sasha stepped back into the ring and the two of them shared a stare down. After a moment, the champion goes for a forearm but the Hart ducks it and as Sasha turns back around, Nattie is already in full spin to hit her signature Nattie by Nature clothesline... but Sasha ducks it! And the Boss lifts her foot up high and kicks Natalya in the side of the head with a roundhouse kick once she turns back around. It sends her down to the mat and Sasha looks towards her fallen opponent and then the turnbuckle before she got an idea in her head.

Both the champ and the challenger lay on their backs staring at the ceiling gasping for breath. Both women have given this match their all and then some and the fans appear to be loving it. As both women begin to stir and take in their surroundings the lights go out...and a familiar light shines through the darkness at the top of the stage. A familiar lantern. A familiar smile. Familiar vacant eyes. The former champion Sister April stands at the top of the stage

[Mauro Ranallo]
What is Sister April doing out here?!

[Corey Graves]
Whatever her reason...I bet it's bad for Sasha

April walks slowly down to the ring. Her eyes locked on one of the shadows in the ring. April slithers through the ropes and stand before both women who are just beginning to stand on shaky legs. April blows out her lantern and the lights come back on. April seems to be staring a hole through Sasha. Natalya makes it up first and the surprise is written on her face as she sees April. Sasha finally gets up and sees April too

"What the hell do YOU want?" Sasha yells as April slowly advances on her

[Corey Graves]
This is genius by Sister April! She's killing two birds with one stones. She gets revenge on Sasha AND she helps her friend Natalya!

"AJ stop!" Natalya yells

Without a moment of hesitation April spins and smashes her lantern across the face of Natalya, send glass and the challengers body crashing to the ground

[Corey Graves]
...What?

The crowd goes silent and Sasha's mouth drops. April looks towards Sasha and sends her a twisted smile before lashing out with a kick that sends the champ flying through the middle rope and to the outside. April slowly turns back towards Natalya and slowly stalks her body. A cut right above Natalya's left eyebrow runs with blood. April kicks Natalya over on her back and mounts her

"You were supposed to be my friend...my sister. You betrayed me." April whispers. And with a roar of anger and anguish grabs Nattie by her hair and slams her head into the mat over and over and over.

[Corey Graves]
I just...don't understand this at all...

[Mauro Ranallo]
Look! There's Dana!

Sure enough Dana Brooks comes racing out the back and to the ring. As Dana slides in she's pulled out by Sasha Banks

"What the hell are you doing?!" Dana screams at Sasha

"This is MY fight! I'm gonna help her!" Sasha fires back

"She's MY mentor. I'M gonna help her!" Dana responds

Meanwhile in the ring April cradles Natalya's blood covered head in her lap. A low kind of laughing can be heard coming from the Queen of Darkness. Suddenly the lights go out once more. And when they return...April and Natalya are gone. The lights changing alert The champion and Dana to look inside the ring and notice they are gone. The two glare daggers at each other as the segment fades to black

Non-Title Extreme Rules Rematch Anarchy 6/6/2016 – The Match That Started it All

1 - XWL Anarchy Presents: A Surprise Slammy Awards Special 1/2/2017 - 1/16/2017 - Page 2 R13XPEd1 - XWL Anarchy Presents: A Surprise Slammy Awards Special 1/2/2017 - 1/16/2017 - Page 2 VsF1a1X

Kruger stares over the carcass of Bray Wyatt. He giggles to himself as the ref continues counting. Kruger lifts Wyatt to his feet, and rolls him into the ring. A smirk crosses the face of Leo Kruger as he jumps onto the apron as he senses the end draws near. He gets into the ring, and quickly gets into the ring then lifts Bray Wyatt to his feet. Kruger then Irish whips Bray Wyatt to the ropes. After Bray Wyatt's rebound off the ropes he is caught by Leo Kruger for Spinebuster.

1 - XWL Anarchy Presents: A Surprise Slammy Awards Special 1/2/2017 - 1/16/2017 - Page 2 Spinebuster%2B2

Kruger pins Bray Wyatt in the middle of the ring.

3!

Kruger pushes off of Bray Wyatt, and stands up to his feet. He brushes the side of his nose with his thumb as he backs up tor the corner in the most cocky way possible. Kruger celebrates in the corner then makes his exit out of the ring, and up the ramp The camera is now off of Kruger as now it shows Wyatt struggling to get to his feet, but does. As he began to walk towards the ropes to make his walk to the back, a loud gong echo through the arena, and Wyatt's posture immediately changes to a fighting stance. The lights fall to pitch black.

Corey Graves

It seems like Bray Wyatt's night went from bad to worse.

Mauro Ranallo

You have to remember Wyatt slipped out of Undertaker's grasp at Breakthrough. You have had to had seen this coming.

Corey Graves

And I bet the Deadman is pretty mad at JBL's actions earlier, so it can't make this situation any better for Wyatt.

1 - XWL Anarchy Presents: A Surprise Slammy Awards Special 1/2/2017 - 1/16/2017 - Page 2 11017240_535674423237815_5273575153437190270_n

The lights finally turn back on to the sight of Undertaker shooting a look of pure rage into the eyes of Bray Wyatt. Wyatt is ready to fight off Undertaker, as he is in a stance to fight, but in the midst of no movement in the ring and the crowd anxious to see how this scenario goes, Undertaker screams at Bray " Your soul will be mine tonight, and you will be first to enter the graveyard". After those words Undertaker launches himself at Wyatt and knocks him down with a right hook to the jaw. Undertaker keeps hitting Wyatt in the corner as he is defenseless in the corner as his body fails to put up a fight. Eventually Wyatt collapses to the ground and Undertaker looks at the lifeless body of Bray Wyatt on the mat. Undertaker undoes his shoulder straps and lifts Wyatt up

1 - XWL Anarchy Presents: A Surprise Slammy Awards Special 1/2/2017 - 1/16/2017 - Page 2 RemoteCleverGypsymoth

Undertaker had drilled Wyatt into the mat with a tombstone and after he stood up, Undertaker grabbed Wyatt's feet and began to drag him, this time No one would be in his way. As Taker was about to exit the ring with the carcass of Bray Wyatt, Undertaker looks back and says to himself " forget a burial " and leaves Wyatt in the ring. Undertaker lifts up the apron cover and drags out a ladder and throws it into the ring, then another and also throws a second ladder in the ring. Undertaker sets up both ladders and picks up Bray Wyatt, Undertaker ascends the ladders dragging Bray to the top with him. As they reach the top rung, Bray begins to regain consciousness, but it was too late. Undertaker had a firm grip around his throat, and as Wyatt's eyes grew wider realizing his current problem, Undertaker looked Wyatt in the eyes and said " Welcome to Hell " and Chokeslams Wyatt off the two ladders. Wyatt body splatters into the mat and the ring breaks through where he had fallen. Wyatt reaches one hand up into the air barely noticeable to the crowd and when it does flames engulf the hole that Wyatt's contact with the mat had created. Undertaker walks by the flame filled hole and kneels

1 - XWL Anarchy Presents: A Surprise Slammy Awards Special 1/2/2017 - 1/16/2017 - Page 2 WWESummerslam20082

Undertaker

His soul is finally mine..

[b]Undertaker words felt like they had echoed through the entire arena. Fear struck the crowd as Undertaker stared at the fire. The only sounds that could be heard was the crackle of the flames and and the laughter of the Deadman. Darkness has engulfed XWL, the camera fades.

The Slammy Awards continues as the cameras cut to the ring where Lillian Garcia is about to announce. . .

LILLIAN GARCIA
Please welcome our Slammy Award Presenter for Match of the Year. . .RIC FLAIR!

RANALLO
Ric Flair has had so many great matches, plenty that have been considered the match of the year. A perfect presenter for this Slammy Award I would say.

GRAVES
The dirtiest player in the game huh. Well if you ask me the dirtiest player in the game tonight was Alexa Bliss against that man’s daughter Charlotte.

Flair enters the ring and gets the mic handed to him.

RIC FLAIR
WOOOOOO!

The crowd woos surround the arena.

RIC FLAIR
What an honor it is to be here tonight to present the Slammy Award for Match of the Year. I have had plenty of matches in my career but it was really hard for me to think of a match I had that was better than this year’s Match of the Year winner. Man was that won hell of a match! And that man who won this match has proven himself to be a true superstar in this business. Tonight this man was stylin and profilin and I loved it. So without further ado, XWL’s Slammy Award winner for Match of the Year is none other than Mr. Money in the Bank R Truth for the match he won to get that briefcase. WOOOOO!

1 - XWL Anarchy Presents: A Surprise Slammy Awards Special 1/2/2017 - 1/16/2017 - Page 2 52iQK5U

RANALLO
What an absolute spectacle of a match we saw at Emergence between Rollins, Ziggler, Broken Matt, and the winner R Truth!

GRAVES
We all know the man who made that match special and that man was R Truth. The man who has overcome the odds since he has come back to XWL, and overcame the odds against those three men in that match. Let’s not forget about Cesaro also interfering in that match and trying to stop R Truth from winning what he has earned.

R Truth is handed the award by Ric Flair with a look of disbelief on his face. Ric Flair shakes R Truth’s hand and says “Congrats kid you earned it.” Flair then hands R Truth the microphone.

R TRUTH
I can’t believe it.

My Broken Brilliance is what made this match ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL, and I shall prove it here tonight.

Broken Matt starts walking down the ramp quickly to get into the ring

.:A Broken Matt Hardy:.
As once again all of us are stepping into the ring to see who the better man really is, but this time there will be no briefcase hanging high above the ring. In this case, winner gets to face Matt Sydal in a non-title match. To showcase their talent, and see if they really belong in the World Title scene.

Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins make their way to the ring as the rematch of the Match of the Year is about to start.

Before the crowd can truly react to the sound of The Owner's music, he's already strutting his way over to the podium, wasting no time. As he stops he looks out into the sold-out arena then smiles grabbing a hold of The Slammy he'll be presenting.

[Vince McMahon]
Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my honor and privilege to present tonight's final award, The Slammy for Male Superstar of The Year!

The audience cheers, excited for the reveal given the fact that they've all been voting since the polls opened, and they're eager to find out which man won.

[Vince McMahon]
This isn't just any award, it is THE award, because for one year, this man that will be presented with The Slammy in just a moment, has been good. Not just good, GREAT....better than every other man that has stepped through that curtain, be it once, or hundreds of times. In the wrestling industry, there's an intangible group of men that can't be matched. They are the best of the best, the greatest of all time...and this award? Is the personification of that. For 365 days, one man has outdone the other nominees, he's fought hard, and he's shown what he's made of.  It takes a toll on you physically, and mentally. He's gotten up when he's gotten knocked down, and he's proven people wrong. When you are the best, you just are, and no matter how many times you tell them...once you SHOW them...they have no choice but to recognize it, WITH THIS AWARD RIGHT HERE! So let's get to it, shall we? The power was in your hands, who deserves it? Let's find out. The nominees for Male Superstar of The Year....are...

One has stood out, one...has been without a shadow of a doubt, the best...so The Superstar of The Year.....is...

[Vince McMahon]
MATT SYDAL!!

A loud pop follows as the growingly infectious music of The New XWL World Heavyweight Champion and now newly named Superstar of The Year sounds throughout the building. The lights dim, and a gold spotlight focuses on the stage, the moment we see rustling the cheers get louder and out from the back is the man of the hour himself, dressed in a well-tailored black suit, a golden tie and pocket square to match, and the most important statement piece of all, The World Title over his shoulder, The Golden Ticket is all smiles even though he sports a noticeable limp.

[Mauro Ranallo]
The man that ended 2016 as The NEW World Heavyweight Champion has been named SUPERSTAR OF THE YEAR!

[Corey Graves]
I'm not a fan of how he's relaxed his stance over not caring what these people think, but you can't deny he gets it done, and this is well deserved.

[Mauro Ranallo]
Towards the end of 2016 it looked like Matt would be finishing the year on the injured reserve, but the reason he stands there Superstar of The Year is because he didn't do what others had done in his shoes before...no, he fought through the injury, and it could have been a career-ending decision...but he pushed through, and did EXACTLY what he said he would, he dethroned AJ Styles, and reclaimed the championship he still holds the record for being the longest reigning champion of as well.

[Corey Graves]
It's stupid to risk your career to prove a point, but he proved it...I do have to ask how long he can continue to push through the pain before it all catches up with him but you have to admire his strength.

[Mauro Ranallo]
The same fans that hated him for the majority of 2016, the same fans that then rallied behind him as he persevered through injury, have now voted him their Superstar of The Year.

Vince holds his hand out, and without hesitation Matt accepts it, shaking his hand mouthing some things we didn't catch, but you can tell it's a really great moment between the two. A moment later Vince uses his other hand to present Matt with his golden prize, The Slammy for Superstar of The Year. He thanks Vince then hobbles over to the podium and sets it down, his hand still wrapped around it, eyeing his new golden prize that pairs just wonderfully with The World Heavyweight Title across his shoulder.

[Matt Sydal]
You know, a lot of men stepped through that curtain last year, they made claims that they were the best, that 2016...would be...THEIR year. But this right? The World Heavyweight Championship? THE SLAMMY FOR SUPERSTAR OF THE YEAR?! This makes liars of ALL of them! Because I came back with something to prove, a chip on my shoulder...that is now covered with the richest prize in this industry. THIS is what it's all about, we go through rigorous training, fight through injuries, endure unspeakable amounts of pain, ALL FOR THIS. To be the best, to give your career meaning, to cement your legacy and make THIS matter.

His eyes look at The World Title with pride, and he hoists it into the air to a tremendous pop.

[Matt Sydal]
I'm not a hero, you have found support for me because of the scum the previous holder of this title was...but let's not get it twisted, sooner or later...I'm going to piss you off, but you know what's beautiful about that? It's okay, you don't have to approve of me, because deep down? Despite your feelings of me? You see me for who I am, a prick....that gives a DAMN about THIS. All of this, I care...maybe my methods aren't up to your liking, but everything I do? I do for this business, to make it better, to give you the champion you deserve. And that's why you named me Superstar of The Year, because although the majority of 2016 made you groan whenever my face popped up on your screen? You couldn't deny the fact that I...I made you feel something. Everything I touched turned to gold, gold that you watched week after week, you loved to hate me...and you hated to love me. I'm going to do something I don't do, and don't get used to...but I want to say thank you.

More cheers follow, it's quite the contrast in reaction comparing this time last year to now.

[Matt Sydal]
If not for you, you know, the people who usually hate my guts...rallying behind me with this whole AJ thing, honestly who knows if I'd still be standing here today, with this and THIS. The truth is I'm in a lot of pain right now, but it's numbed by the fact that I once again can call myself The XWL WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!  Numbed by the fact that...in my hands right now, is recognition for all my hard work, even the most hated...can't be denied that he busted his ass in 2016, and that's the reason he ended it by reclaiming the crown AJ Styles tried to tarnish. See, a lot of men have won this award over the years, and they've stood out here, given sappy speeches about how much this means, how great this makes them, but you know what happens a month later? They leave, or they stop caring. They lose the excitement they had over getting this award, and you never see it again until the next Slammy Awards pop up. Not me, no...every single week, just as you see The World Title over my shoulder, around my waist, or in my hands? You'll see THIS Slammy in the other hand!

He grabs The Slammy and raises it high for all to see, keeping it up high as he continues his speech.

[Matt Sydal]
Long through 2017, when you hate me again, and I brush it off, whether I have The World Title or not, which let's face it...I'm freaking amazing so I will...you'll see This Slammy right along with it. I will cherish it, and everything it stands for. Because AJ Styles, while he's a sorry son of a bitch that that'll never get his grubby mitts on this title again as long as I have anything to do with it...he's a talented guy, one of the best. Brock Lesnar? A freak of nature, a BEAST that had a destructive year. Leo Kruger? I haven't had the pleasure of facing him, but I've seen his dominance, he's making The Intercontinental title mean something again, that's why you named him Champion of The Year,  an award I'll be claiming as my own next year...you know, after I shatter my own World Title Record, because if you want something done you've gotta do it yourself, right? There's CM Punk....

Chicago lets out an immediately known "CM PUNK!" chant for the hometown superstar to which Matt just smirks.

[Matt Sydal]
A man I've had my issues with but has taken this new "Elite" Championship and made it matter, defeating challenger after challenger, and really trying to make it mean something. To get rid of the stigma that if it isn't The World Title, then it's a waste of my time. He's a man after my own heart, he cares about championships, no matter what title it may be. There's Dean Ambrose, the man that had the entire road to Final Stand last year devoted to his demise. He fought man after man, in every type of match imaginable, and ended it by stepping inside Hell in a Cell...a match I've lost my title in before, but he overcame The Authority, and he walked out STILL champion. You put me above all of those names, and while I've been known to be a disrespectful jerk from time to time...I'm not going to disrespect any of them, or this....by forgetting it. So with that said, I am your Superstar of The Year, and you'll never hear the end of it!

With an emphatic speech coming to an end, the fans can't help but cheer the fact that he takes great pride in the award he's been given. We know he'll never shut up about it, much like he never shuts up about everything else he's ever done...but as he said, it's because he cares because he wants to stress the importance of what he does so everyone else knows how much it means. He takes a step back, with his Slammy in one hand, and his World Heavyweight Title in the other, he smiles...genuinely...proudly..and raises both arms showing off the golden prizes in his possession. You could almost say a "you deserve it" chant would be appropriate right now but you'd be wrong because it isn't needed...because he knows he deserves it, as do they, that's why they voted him their Superstar of The Year, that's why they backed him in his quest to dethrone AJ Styles and restore integrity back to The World Title.

[Mauro Ranallo]
Now that's how you deliver a speech, our Superstar of The Year...MATT SYDAL!

[Corey Graves]
No matter your feelings about him, you cannot deny that he is a rare individual. He feels honored to hold any title or award, and that's what it's all about at the end of the night.

[Mauro Ranallo]
He's been tested more than he has in a while the last month, overcoming an injury, an injury that is still bothering him, to get revenge over the person he caused it, and take his title. You have to believe being named Superstar of The Year, and having The World Championship in his hands makes everything worth it.

Matt tosses The World Heavyweight Championship over his shoulder, then with The Slammy still hoisted high for all to see, he shouts "I OUTDID EVERYONE ELSE FOR 365 DAYS, SO HERE'S TO 365 MORE! With that last statement, the camera zooms in on a prideful Matt Sydal with the objects of his deepest admiration in full focus.

Sydal rolls off of Young, the duo lying in heaps on the ground. The crowd is chanting how amazing the match is as the commentary table freaks out over the spear onto the steel steps. The ref, standing in the ring, watches over the two from the elevated position as there is a good view of both from here. And the count begins.

1!

There's not a lot of movement between the two throughout the ringside area as the ref continues the count. Reaching 5 in no time.

5!

Sydal begins to crawl to the apron, using it to help him up. Young crawls to the table, using that to help him up. The duo are both struggling to their feet at this time, the crowd chanting "yes!" over and over, wanting this match to continue.

6!

7!

[Corey Graves]
Wait a minute, what's that!?

Sydal appears to be struggling to stand, something obstructing him. From under the ring comes two hands, grabbing onto the leg of Sydal, pinning him to the ground. Sydal fights it, trying to pry off the hand, losing. Young stands, leaning on the table for support as the ref hits the count of nine.

9!

Young turns around, seeing Sydal fighting the hand, panicking now as the count almost over. Young then yells at the ref, jumping onto the apron quickly, stopping the ref from counting. Young then looks down, Sydal breaking free as the hands disappear under the ring. The duo share a look as Young hops off the apron, them standing face to face before their eyes shift to the apron.

[Mauro Ranallo]
Eric Young had this match won but his respect of competition has led him to saving Matt Sydal.

[Corey Graves]
He's a moron, and is Sydal for not taking advantage of attacking Young here.

They both at the same time snatch the apron up, finding a cowering man in a sweater vest in under the apron. In one swift motion Young and Sydal snatch him out, revealing Matt Striker crawling away from the men. Sydal goes in, planning on evening the score but Young slips in front, stopping him. Eric turns to Striker, pointing for him to leave. Striker seems to want to argue it but Young yells at him, demanding he leave. Without warning, Sydal tries to grab Young, to throw him into the ring. But Eric knowing his former rival very well sees it coming and instead sends The World Champion rolling into the ring.

[Mauro Ranallo]
Right onto the steel chair, Eric's neck could be broken from that impact.

[Corey Graves]
Good maybe he'll stop trying to compete against people like Matt Sydal when he clearly doesn't belong. I mean can we talk about the Striker thing earlier? HE COULD HAVE WON!

After a grueling match, it looks like that was the final moment of this match...but Matt looks around, spent from this encounter, still not sure how he's been able to endure an Unsanctioned Match at Breakthrough, and now a Last Man Standing Match when it's difficult for him to stand, but he knows it's now or never...he has to win he doesn't have much left in him. So instead of taking a chance, he goes for a sure thing...he grabs Eric, and pathetically begins to drag him over to the corner, he's dead weight, almost lifeless, and the fact that Matt keeps almost losing his balance as he drags the sack of potatoes around is showing how desperate he is.

[Mauro Ranallo]
What's he doing?

[Corey Graves]
Either something stupid, or something genius, I'll be the judge in a minute.

Now at the corner, Matt uses all his strength to pull Eric up against it, trying to keep him standing but that's easier said than done. He takes a deep breath then lets out a loud grunt pushing Eric up onto the top rope, nearly collapsing from how tired he is. Matt then stumbles over to the chairs, grabbing them and setting up a pile. Stagger back over to the corner he takes another deep inhale, then jumps up onto the second rope landing only with one foot to avoid any pain along the way. Exhaling he starts to wrap his arms around Eric setting up a move we haven't seen in quite some time from Matt, in fact not since he returned have we seen it.

[Mauro Ranallo]
Is he setting up The Cyclorama?! ONTO THE PILE OF CHAIRS?!

[Corey Graves]
When you fight this long, this hard, sometimes you have to dig deep into your repertoire and find something that can end it, and if he can hit this...it'll definitely end it.

[Mauro Ranallo]
Eric is in a bad place right now, if he doesn't snap back into reality his goose is cooked.

The fans are on their feet, watching with shock, excitement every emotion in between. Matt with a firm grip around Eric then tries to step up onto the top rope....but his foot slips! He risks dropping straight onto his injured calf, but as he's about to tumble down with high risk not paying off....his legs dangle in the air, and the camera pans up...to see Eric is now the one holding onto Matt Sydal inadvertently saving him from making his injury much worse.

[Mauro Ranallo]
That was almost a horrible turn of events!

[Corey Graves]
No, not quite....but it looks like it's about to be.

Without much warning Young takes Sydal, hositing him onto his shoulders, looking around at the arena. His eyes then pan over to the table on the outside. He slowly stands on the top ropes, looking around at the crowd and in one fluid motion his sticks his tongue out and leaps, diving out of the ring and hitting him with an EY Driver from the top rope to the table below.

[Corey Graves]
HOLY-

[Mauro Ranallo]
MOLY GRAVES, THAT WAS INSANE! THESE MEN MAY BE HURT!

The ref can't help them however as this match is unforgiving. Both men lay in the broken heap that was the table and floor below. The ref, beginning the count. Young is the first to move, however it takes him up until count number six. He begins to stagger, crawling for the apron. Striker stands, having not left yet, looking to Young, yelling at him to get up. Then, he takes off in a sprint.

[Mauro Ranallo]
What the hell!?

Striker unleashes a vicious punt, kicking Young right in the temple as the ref continues the count, unable to break as Sydal did not harm Young. Sydal begins to stand as Striker takes off, rounding the ring and heading up the ramp quickly. Sydal slowly stands, using the apron for help as the count hits nine. Sydal's feet are firmly planted on the ground as the ref yells out for the final time.

10!

The bell rings as Young lays, incapacitated and Sydal stands, careful of his calf. He looks around as a new announcer comes over, announcing Sydal as the winner of the match. Unbeknownst to Sydal, Striker is the reason this match ended, as if not for him both would have gotten up before the count...so to him he thinks this is just a hard fought victory, he grabs his title, and his Slammy that was presented to him earlier, and raises them up to end the Slammy Awards the last man standing, much like he was to end 2016. But with an encounter coming up with The Mr. Money in The Bank next week, and the risk of him cashing in, will he still be standing as World Heavyweight Champion by the end of next week's edition of Anarchy?
