Normal Match

MATCH RESULTS:

Our cameras take us backstage to a private conversation already in progress between General Manager Stephanie McMahon, and Head of The Divas Division Layla. Unlike most segments we're not watching this go down in full plain view, instead, a cameraman is peering through Layla's cracked office door, perhaps trying to get some insight into her state of mind this week. Is Layla still emotionally defeated by recent events with the mystery attacker and everyone pointing the finger at her?

[Layla]
I just, I can't...

[Stephanie McMahon]
Sure you can, you've gotten past allegations like this before.


[Layla]
Maybe I'm tired of always being the accused?


[Stephanie McMahon]
I'm not saying it's right, but people are threatened by successful and powerful women like us. They'll say anything to try and take that away from you and me.


[Layla]
And while they do that, the real attacker is getting away with it...

Layla's head hangs, sighing as she leans up against her desk, fed up of all of this.


[Layla]
I should just, I should just give them what they want.


[Stephanie McMahon]
What? What are you talking about?


[Layla]
If everyone's so convinced that it's me, then does the truth really matter at this point? Whoever was behind it seems to have gotten whatever they wanted out of this, it's been two weeks without another incident.



[Stephanie McMahon]
Of course the truth matters, it's wrong for people to blame you without even a single shred of evidence to prove it. You can't just accept their guilty verdict if you weren't the one that actually did it.


[Layla]
Well what else am I supposed to do, huh? No matter what I say, nobody believes me when I say I had nothing to do with this. If they really cared about the "truth" they would be trying to unravel this mystery, but to them...it's no mystery. It was me, end of...they want someone to point the finger at, and it's been pointed at me since the get go. So I may as well let them be "right" just to get this over with.


[Stephanie McMahon]
You can't be serious? You can’t do that if you didn’t do it.


[Layla]
Honestly, I knew I wasn't the most "liked" person, but to be assaulted not once, but twice now...and no one care...I'm just done. Why fight this? In the end, somehow...someway...I'll take the fall anyways, so why prolong it? Why even care at this point? I've done nothing but give this division ALL of me...and yet, here I stand...boarded up in my office because I can't actually do my job BECAUSE...the entire world thinks I'm some corrupt bitch.  

You can see the frustration all over Layla's face, she's at the end of her rope. And despite Stephanie's attempts to keep her spirits up, she seems to be ready to accept her fate. Nobody believes her, nobody thinks she didn't do this, despite being the third victim of this attacker, people insist she faked the attack to throw the scent off of her, which ironically has only intensified that stench of "guilt" in their minds. It's impossible to be sure if it's really just Layla being done with all of this, or it's perhaps because she was actually the one behind it...but regardless, she stands there...done. Stephanie remains speechless for a moment before exhaling a deep sigh.


[Stephanie McMahon]
Layla, the fact that you seem to be so willing to take the fall for this...is starting to really making me think. I never felt the need to ask you this, but for my wellbeing...and yours...I find it very necessary. I understand that when I approached you about running The Divas Division, you were understandably upset, you felt you had more to give as a competitor...and I had hoped that in time you would grow to love your role, and support the women who are still competing. Unfortunately, given these attacks, and a clear motive you would have for doing them, it’s possible I’ve been blind to the truth this entire time. This doesn’t have to be the end of you, there’s ways to comeback from all of this...but in order to do that, we all have to know the real truth. So I’ll ask you, were you responsible for the attacks against Bayley, and Paige?


Layla looks at Stephanie almost in disbelief, the one person who hadn't questioned her, that believed her...now has asked her if she did it. Sure it could look that way, that she's trying to backtrack after possibly regretting doing said attacks...but she also could just feel like no one believes her, and they never will so why delay the inevitable? Why fight for your innocence when you've already been branded guilty?



[Layla]
You want the truth? You’re right, I-



Suddenly, as she was perhaps about to make either guilty, or innocent admission...Layla, out of the corner of her eye...sees the lens of a camera poking through the cracked door.

[Layla]
Are you freaking kidding me?


In a fit of rage, Layla barges past a confused Stephanie, and throws open the door, revealing the sneaky cameraman. Stephanie seems surprised, not noticing that they were being watched...but Layla on the other hand, begins to question that. She looks at the cameraman, then back to Stephanie, the gears turning in her head.

[Layla]
This is what you wanted, ISN’T IT?!


[Stephanie McMahon]
What? I..


[Layla]
Save it, I know when I’m being coerced into some type of confession. Thank you SO much for being there for me Stephanie, you….AND THE ENTIRE WORLD!


Motioning to the camera, Layla seems to see this as Stephanie trying to get Layla to admit it on camera by being “friendly” to her. Not being a “private” conversation, but instead one that the whole world was listening in on. Whether that was her intention or not, The British Boss of The Divas Division seems to believe it was as she then storms out of her office in a huff, leaving Stephanie standing there with the camera now in her face. She just screams in her shrilled agitated tone “SHUT IT OFF!”  and the feed cuts, and we fade away.  

*The scene is that of the backstage area.  Interviewer Rich Brennan is standing by with none other than Authority members Seth Rollins and the XWL World Heavyweight Champion Finn Bálor!  Rollins is to the left of the screen and Bálor is to the right with the World title draped proudly over his shoulder.  You can tell that Brennan isn't exactly comfortable between the two of them given their past actions and their standing within the company.*

[Rich Brennan]
Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guests at this time.  Seth Rollins and Finn Bálor!

[Finn Bálor]
I think you're forgetting something Rich...

[Rich Brennan]
S-sorry Mr Bálor... Ladies and gentlemen I do apologize for my mistake.  Please welcome my guests at this time, Seth Rollins and the World Heavyweight Champion, Finn Bálor!

*Finn looks much more satisfied at this introduction.  Rollins smirks maniacally and even chuckles to himself.



[Rich Brennan]
Finn... to you first of all.  What are your thoughts on what happened at the conclusion of Anarchy last week?



[Finn Bálor]
What do I think about what happened last week?  You really ask the hard-hitting questions don't you.  I think it's fairly obvious what I think about last week - I'm annoyed.  I'm annoyed how Dean Ambrose and CM Punk think they have the right to disrespect me, and to disrespect The Authority.  I'm annoyed that they felt it was okay to brutally assault me and my good friend Seth Rollins.  And I'm annoyed that Deano thinks that he's evened the odds by recruiting a washed-up has-been like CM Punk.



[Finn Bálor]
The odds are never even when you oppose The Authority.  The Authority always wins.  And because of that, CM Punk will sooner or later find himself on the unemployment line once again, and Dean Ambrose will either be laid up in a hospital bed or locked away in a mental institution where he belongs.  This World Heavyweight title on the other hand...

*Finn looks down lovingly at the gold strap.*



[Finn Bálor]
This will be going nowhere and will remain in my possession.  So Deano and Punk can do whatever they want to try and rattle my cage... to get inside our heads.  But it's not going to happen.  We're focused on remaining at the top and that's exactly where we'll remain.  The Authority rules over XWL and we will for the foreseeable future.  Nothing can change that.  Not Dean Ambrose, not CM Punk... nobody.

*Rollins grins as Brennan turns the mic in his direction.*



[Seth Rollins]
Last week had no affect on us, It didn't change our plan...it didn't change the fact that WE are the top guys in this company, WE are the faces of this company. CM Punk can claim he carried the company all he wants, but each week when he didn't show up..who was there to save the show? I was. I carried this company on my back week after week, and now...WE Carry this company. This isn't about me, This is about The Authority. We went into Cyberslam with one goal, and that was to leave with the World Heavyweight Championship, that's exactly what happened. And with Final Stand around the corner, We have full control. Who knows...Maybe we will have a all Authority Main Event...Maybe me and Finn here will go face to face and steal the show. Hell, everybody knows I'm the only one who deserves a shot at championship.



[Seth Rollins]
Tonight, I'll show that Dean Ambrose isn't worthy of that championship when I stomp his face into that mat. Whilst Finn here will show CM Punk, that he no longer belongs in this business. He can try change it all he wants, but NOTHING is going to stop us.


*Bálor and Rollins perform a fist bump before walking off camera together.*

As the show rolls on, we head backstage to see Rich Brennan standing by with Bayley!




[Rich Brennan]
Bayley, thanks for joining me. Now at Cyberslam, the fans voted you to face Eva Marie, but with the help of a handful of tights, she managed to defeat you and retain the Womens Championship. What are your thoughts after getting the Championship match you dreamed of?



[Bayley]
I'm not surprised at Eva, I went into that match expecting her to try take whatever short cuts she could to retain that title. I'm not going to say I had her beat, she's a tough competitor, but she took the easy way out. She didn't represent that championship how it deserves to be represented. We had a close battle, and she managed to come out on top, and while she cheated to do that...I couldn't help but feel I let everybody down...The XWL Universe voted for me. They could've picked Paige, They could've picked Natayla....but they chose me. And when that bell rang, I wasn't surprised at what Eva did...I was disappointed that I wasn't able to beat her, and I felt like I let everybody down.



[Bayley]
It wasn't just that I lost why I felt I let the fans down, it was how it ended. The fans deserve better than that, they don't want to see somebody take a short cut, they don't want to see somebody cheat just to retain their championship. They want it to come down to who the better woman is, and I don't think Cyberslam decided that. Eva, I want a rematch for that championship. I want to give the fans what they want, I want you to prove that you are the champion you claim to be. I want a match for that championship....Tonight.

A huge smile then comes across the face of Bayley as she looks off camera...seconds later it's clear why...It's Paige! Paige walks into camera shot, with a smile to Bayley she starts to talk.



[Paige]
Bayley, Bayley, Bayley... you know I love you right? But I don't know if you saw but last week but Nattie and I put on a classic. Some people are already calling it the Match Of The Year and we're only in March. I think you do deserve a rematch, but if you fail to get the job done this time... with all due respect... I think you should step aside and let someone else end Eva Marie's reign of terror. Someone like... me.

Bayley looks a little upset that even her closest friend is doubting her. Paige realizes this and seeks to comfort her.



[Paige]
Now don't get me wrong, I'm definitely in your corner for all of this. Eva has made the Divas Division a disgrace and each day that goes by that she remains champion tarnishes women's wrestling as a whole. The fact that she had to cheat to beat you at Cyberslam tells the entire story. I'm actually quite embarrassed and ashamed as a female wrestler myself that her reign has gone on this long... and if you can't end it someone else needs to. I know I can if I'm given the opportunity... so just remember that. Not all is lost if you fail again! But I know you can beat her in a fair match so if you get another chance please, please, please don't slip up!

Bayley nods and launches at her friend into a vice-like hug. Paige looks displeased at this however and when Bayley releases her grip and turns her back...

Paige grabs her by the hair and slams her face first into a nearby TV screen mounted on the wall! Glass flies everywhere as the sickening collision between Bayley's face and the screen is made. She falls to the floor like a sack of potatoes as Paige mounts her and begins screaming like a crazy woman. She slams the back of Bayley's head repeatedly into the ground. Bayley is unable to defend herself, having been taken completely by surprise.

[Paige]
That's why you don't deserve it Bayley!

Paige's assault is relentless. Like a woman-possessed she just won't stop caving her friend's head in. Finally after what seems like an eternity, her attack is broken up by the mystery attacker! The masked individual bursts onto the scene and appears to be playing hero by focusing their own attack on Paige. A swift roundhouse kick to the side of Paige's head floors her and she lies on the ground dazed next to the unconscious Bayley.



"STOP RIGHT THERE!" what's this? SOMEONE'S SPOTTED THE ATTACKER! You know, besides the cameraman filming...the masked assailant attempts to run, but before she can, a swarm of security surround her on all sides. They grab a hold of her arms, she struggles, doing everything she could to break free. Attempting to stomp their feet, kick their shins, she manages to slip one arm free, backhanding the one that was holding her other arm, then starts to run for it. She side steps the fallen bodies of her victims Bayley and Paige, looking back to make see how close the chasing security is behind her….when suddenly she runs into a roundhouse kick! The masked woman immediately folds from the sudden blow, and the camera pans to the left...showing LAYLA standing over the masked assailant! It’s as if she takes the first breath of relief she’s taken since this saga all began. Over a month of emotion, accusations, all worth it...for this moment, the moment...of truth. Layla reaches down, snatching the mask off of the unconscious woman...revealing red locks, belonging to THE XWL WOMENS CHAMPION EVA MARIE! She twirls the mask in her hand, then snaps her fingers and looks at the gathering security team.


[Layla]
Get this bitch out of my sight, NOW!


Display raw emotion with such a simple statement, the men scrape the unmasked Eva off the floor, and begin to carry her away. Layla crosses her arms, obviously upset that her very own champion was the one behind all of this..but she’s too happy in a way to be overly angry. She’s cleared her name, the truth is finally out, and and now everyone, as they watch the real mystery attacker be carried away, must find themselves questioning the way they’ve treated Layla over the last month. She was enemy number one, the only one people, her fellow divas, Jerry The King Lawler, even Stephanie McMahon believed to be under the mask. But what now? The XWL Womens Champion has been attacking divas, including Layla herself...the last woman to lay her hands on Layla….was fired, so what will happen to the woman that not only laid her hands on The Brit, but also let the whole world to believe Layla was behind it all?

MAIN EVENT

STEEL CAGE

Intercontinental Championship




This has been one hell of a main event and now we are in the dying moments of the match, everyone can see what this championship means to both Sheamus and Matt Sydal as they have almost killed one another tonight to lay claim to it. Matt Sydal hits a dropkick and takes Sheamus down, he then scales the ropes to do a high risk move, but Sheamus was right back up to his feet as he grabbed Matt Sydal and with all his might he throws him from the top rope right down to the mat as hard as he could. Sheamus smirks as he sees that Matt Sydal is laid out, he wastes very little time before moving to the cage wall, beginning to climb up! And soon enough, he's made it to the top of the cage, and manages to make it to the other side - Sheamus is going to escape, he is going to win! He's going to escape the cage! ... NO! Here comes Matt Sydal! The champion has recovered, and he's managed to scale the cage wall to catch Sheamus as he reaches over the top of the cage, and grabs his challenger by the hair! Even with everything that has happened to him in this cage, the champion manages to keep a firm grip on Sheamus hair, forcing the Irish man to scale back up to the top of the cage to try and fight Matt Sydal off, but before he can even try, Matt Sydal managed to pull Sheamus back inside of the cage! Both men are now high up above the ring on that cage wall, both wanting to make their way out and fighting each other to make that happen - but it's Sheamus who gains the advantage, as he manages to elbow Matt Sydal in the face! And, with Matt Sydal caught off guard, Sheamus grabs him by the hair and proceeds to yank him backward, sending the Matt Sydal to the mat below! ... But by God, Dolph rolls right back to his feet! Matt Sydal right back on his feet, and he wastes NO time before going right back at Sheamus, scaling the cage wall and reaching up to deliver a clubbing forearm to the back! And another! And with Sheamus ascent momentarily halted, Matt Sydal scales the wall again, himself, until he's right beside Sheamus! Moving in even closer to his challenger, Matt Sydal delivers a hard elbow to Sheamus face, before suddenly reaching over; grabbing the dazed Sheamus and jumping off the cage with him and right down to the canvas below. Both men crash hard into the mat below as the fans start to cheer.

HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT!

Both men are laid out, the referee stands over them looking a little bit worried, the referee on the outside is looking in, both men are broken in half. Matt Sydal starts to stir as he rolls to the ropes and pulls himself up, he looks up at the cage and then starts to climb the cage. He was now fighting right through the pain as he was looking to use this moment to escape. As he starts to climb, Sheamus has recovered and is making his way up the cage as well. He quickly stops Matt Sydal escape attempt with a clubbing forearm to the back! Continuing his climb, Sheamus waits until he's in reach before reaching out and grabbing Matt Sydal with a handful of hair; proceeding to slam him, face-first, into the cage! And again! One more time, and Matt Sydal finally falls; crashing down to the mat below! And now Sheamus all alone, half way up the wall - can he make it the rest of the way up?! One thing's for sure; he's sure as hell trying as he moves, somewhat sluggishly, up the wall - eventually making it to the top! Sheamus is on top of the cage... and he's climbing down the other side! ... But here comes Matt Sydal! Here comes Matt Sydal yet again, as he quickly scales the cage - but Sheamus halfway out! Sheamus halfway out! So, in a last ditch effort, Matt Sydal reaches through the holes in the top of the cage - managing to grab a handful of Sheamus hair! Matt Sydal has Sheamus by a handful of hair! The challenger has little choice but to start climbing back up...as Matt Sydal  climbs up and over the cage wall as both men are now on top. Matt Sydal  keeps yanking the hair as Sheamus grabs his other arm and slamming the hand on the steal over and over again! ONE more time forces separation, as it's all Matt Sydal can take no more, and he's forced to let go of Sheamus hair while Sheamus simultaneously lets go of Matt Sydal arm - leaving the champion to fall OFF the cage wall, and to the outside below! ... And Sheamus falls down as well and crashes to the outside, both men falling right of the top of the cage at the same time and crashing below!

Ring Announcer: Ladies and gentlemen, the winner and NEW Intercontinental Champion, SHEAMUS!

His theme music would start to play, but Sheamus would just lay there, looking up, not able to move, but a smile on his face, but that smile would fade as the outside referee runs up to the ring announcer and starts to speak with him.

Ring Announcer: Ladies and gentlemen, it appears that Matt Sydal hit the ground first and that means the winner, and STILL Intercontinental Champion, MATT SYDAL!

Sheamus moves his hands to his head and lets out a scream, but then the other referee runs up to the ring announcer, now both referees where talking to the ring announcer, talking over what they saw from in the ring and out the ring, the talking goes on for a little bit as the ring announcer nods his head and raises the microphone up to his mouth to speak again.

Ring Announcer: I am sorry again, but it appears that BOTH men hit the ground at the EXACT SAME TIME, which means this match is a DRAW and because of that, MATT SYDAL is still the Intercontinental Champion!
