XWL Breakdown: 2/6/2015 - 2/13/2015

Breakdown kicks off with its usual stunning pyro display. The cameras are about to do their usual scan of the lively audience when we’re suddenly whisked away backstage.



MVP
So it seems that there was a lot of hullabaloo regarding my interview last week. But what else is new, right? When MVP is around it’s a guarantee that big things will be poppin’ and little things will be stoppin’ so the fact that everybody spent the entire week talking about me shouldn’t come as a surprise at this stage of the game. From what I’ve been told there have been a lot of folks who are up in arms about me and Big Johnny “conspiring,” as they falsely put it, to ruin Mick Foley’s career. There ain’t no conspiracy; ain’t nobody huddling up around a candle plotting anything. I’ve been open and honest about my intentions from the get go. I laid it out for ol’ Mick, and I told him: you wanna get in that ring so badly? Apologize!  Mick Foley’s fate is in his own hands; if he wants to be the same old stubborn, set-in-his-ways fool that he’s been his entire life then he’s going to suffer. Big Johnny is not a petty or unreasonable man; if Foley just does as he’s told, then I’m sure he could be squeezed into something as early this week.

But let’s take a step back and examine this whole “ruining Mick Foley’s career” issue a little closer.  Have you seen Mick Foley lately? Surely I can’t be the only one with the capability and common sense to see through the smoke and mirrors. I know y’all are still in the honeymoon phase cause your boy just came back and all that, but he’s far from some knight in shining armor here to save the day. That thinning hair, those missing teeth, those raggedy-ass clothes: which part of that hot mess looks like he has a successful career in him? Which part of I’m doing Mick Foley a favor can you idiots not comprehend? He is set on dying in that ring to make up for struggling so hard to do anything of note, so the longer I keep him out of the ring the better it is for all of his so-called fans. Or maybe I had this XWL Universe pegged all wrong and they actually are selfish enough to want to sacrifice Mick Foley so that they can be entertained for a couple of minutes.

Though I guess the idea of Mick Foley always being so eager to gamble with his life is fitting considering where we are tonight…gambling central itself where marriages begin almost as quickly as money goes down the drain. The fact that this cesspool attracts so many people who are so willingly carefree with their money disgusts me. Money, power and respect are the keys to life. I keep saying it but I don’t think you guys are hearing me. Without those three things you aren’t anybody in this world and once you do have those three things you become a force to be reckoned with. I already have the money in spades, most of you would need to hope to get lucky in a place like Las Vegas to afford the custom-made suit that I’m wearing. I may be no Vincent Kennedy McMahon when it comes to power in XWL or anything like that, but you can’t say that I haven’t put myself in a position to succeed thanks in no small part to my alliance with the man with a plan in Big Johnny.

As they watch Mick Foley suffer, begging to be in a match, dying to have is moment in the spotlight again people are never going to doubt the amount of pull I have in this company. There are guys with much more to lose than Foley and they’re going to be watching in fear knowing that if they try to cross me they’re going to end up on the unemployment line…or worse. And as far as respect goes? Well how could you not admire a man with this much ambition? Who isn’t afraid to say what he means and take what he wants? If you’re not watching what I do and taking notes, then clearly you’re more than content living paycheck to paycheck as you work your pathetic nine to fives. Wrestling is a 24/7, 3-6-5 commitment and not many have it in them to survive and even fewer have the smarts to thrive in this dog-eat-dog world.

For all the complaining people are doing and the effort they’re going through to try to paint me as a villain, they’re forgetting that it was because of Mick Foley’s sucker punch that cost me my match against Shinsuke Nakamura that kept me on the sidelines last week. I needed time to recover, to make sure that there was no lingering damage so that I could return and compete to the best of my ability. Not only that, but I took the week off to take a stand. If you people were going to cheer mediocrity then I was going to deprive you of greatness. But now that Mick Foley cannot compete and mediocrity is no longer an option, I will go out of my way to continue educating you so that you do not make the same mistake again. You got your week of Foley, you got your heartwarming nostalgia, and now it’s time to let go of the past. Life isn’t a fairy tale. Foley having a career resurgence and winning the big one for one final time before sailing off into the sunset isn’t plausible.

I know this harsh truth is a bitter pill to swallow, and so Big Johnny and I came up with a little somethin’ somethin’ to help it go down a little  easier. Tonight I’m returning to in-ring action against…a local athlete. Who better than someone from Las Vegas to take this big of a gamble with his career? Sure I could have made this a big deal and faced somebody who’s already on the XWL roster, but I thought I’d do something different and give an up-and-coming wrestler the rub of the lifetime. Now, chances are very high that he may lose, and that’s okay; it’s nothing to be ashamed of. After all, he’s going to be stepping into the ring with the jaw’ droppin’ bottle poppin’ modern day mack who is, was and always will be half-man, half-amazing. Better men have tried to slow me down, only to get end up in my rearview when I cross the finish line miles ahead. Succeeding when everyone is trying to hold me down? Now that’s ballin’.

MVP devilishly smirks, as the screen fades and Breakdown continues. For a man that relentlessly bashes Mick Foley for taking “the easy way out” in his career, MVP certainly has no issues wrestling what amounts to a rookie when there are probably dozens of wrestlers chomping at the bit to shut him up for good. What’s that they say about the pot and the kettle?

In a different area backstage, Samuray Del Sol is seen meditating, psyching himself up as his clash with Rob Van Dam draws near. For the proud warrior, last week’s loss against Bryan Danielson was a setback, and RVD isn’t going to make bouncing back an easy task.

Del Sol pumps his fist as he explaims, the passion for wrestling, the desire to ascend to the top of the food chain and the need to prove that he is the best have all come together and help him putt he heartbreaking loss out of his mind. To able to find a victory in defeat, to find the light in the darkness, to find hope in waves of the despair are all hallmarks of true warriors. Men who understand that the war matters more in the end that the battle.



Samuray Del Sol
My opponent tonight, here in Las Vegas, in none other than Rob Van Dam. He’s another man that I respect because he never let success change who  is deep down inside. Su alma es puro y su corazón es lleno. He’s a legend in this busiess because he leaves it all in the ring, but your experience will be your downfall, Rob. Your body has a lot of milage on it, you’ve been through the most grueling battles imaginable. Dicen que edad es solamente un número, pero tú no puedes volar tan alto como antes y yo puedo tocar el cielo. I know there’s a lot more involved than age, my friend. There’s also pride, we both have egos and none of us want to be the one to lose…but one of has to, and I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure that man is not me.

You can hear it in his voice—the confidence. He believes every words that he says, and delivers each syllable in a way that makes the young luchador likeable, when many would have been unable to keep from straying from the thin line as exuding unbearable arrogance.



Samuray Del Sol
You’ve fought a lot of men in your day, many of them we consider legends today, but none of those men were me and I promise you Rob Van Dam that after tonight Samuray Del Sol will be a name that you never forget.

An ominous image abruptly takes over the titantron and transitions into thunder and lightning sounds causing a vibration across the arena flooring.





A few rain droplets are seen in slow-motion falling out of the sky and hitting the ground with a splatter.
This happens for about a good five seconds before it becomes a
full on down pour.
The street is filled to the brim of puddles all around the layout.  


A quick flash and seamlessly without warning the calming shower of rain becomes blackened along with the surroundings
 


The immense retraction of the rain so cold that it would be dangerous to stand out in the desolate area it's captured

The vision spirals out of control with the wind picking up speed in seconds passing.

Another flash of lightning sends a cryptic tale with a portrait of a man coated in multicolored paint covering his face.



Footsteps are heard clasping against the pressure of the rain
In between each step the rain becomes black and red simultaneously.





The figure emerges from the harrowing darkness with the rain shrouding and forming a perfect circle around the area he stands

He reaches out with his hand drenched and completely covered in rain, It's shown dripping off his fingertips.
making the tape on his fingers tear becoming see through from the density.
The air becomes clear of all weather and a heavy breathing sound cohering with the winds howl gets sent off into the distance on repeat.

A slam of bars being clanged against one another with a logo slowly forming it's shape takes over the suddenly quiet area.


 The vignette fades to black and everything gets set back to it's normal setting.


 

XWL Breakdown returns from a commercial break to see the smiling faces of both King and Michael Cole.

Michael Cole
Welcome back ladies and gentleman to Friday night Breakdown! It's been a great night thus far, and still to come we've got a HUGE, main event!

King
Oh boy, you said it Cole! Seth Rollins vs. Alex Shelley for the Intercontinental Championship!!! I've got goosebumps for this one!

Michael Cole
Finally we'll crown a NEW Intercontinental champion tonight, the question on everyone's mind is, who will it be!?

Without warning the entire arena goes black, the sounds of a motorcycle revving up echoing throughout the stadium. King and Michael Cole don't know what to make of it as the big screen shows the face of none other than Baron Corbin.



Michael Cole
Who the heck . . .

King
Wait a second, Cole, that's . . .

The Lone Wolf of XWL
Tonight, two things will happen . . . One, Baron Corbin makes his impact. Two . . . I DESTROY, my opponent.

XWL, get ready for your End of Days . . . You can't escape fate.

The lights shoot back on as the fans are all abuzz.

Michael Cole
What on earth was that!? Who was that guy!?!?

King
That was Baron Corbin, King! It looks like he's here tonight, and he has a match!



King
Whoa, whoa!!! Here he comes!!!

Michael Cole
I've got a bad feeling about this, King . . .

Four spotlights dot the stage as Corbin makes his manacle walk across it. Once he hits the forth one, his music picks up and he takes a deep breath, surveying the arena. The crowd is hot as he heads down towards the ring, his local athlete opponent waiting inside for him.

King
I wouldn't want to be that kid right now, Baron Corbin looks like he's just been uncaged!!!

The Lone Wolf of XWL removes his jacket, never once breaking eye contact with generic local athlete #1.

Lillian Garcia
The following contest is scheduled for ONE fall, introducing first, from Las Vegas, Nevada, Jerry---

Before Lillian can even finish the introductions, Corbin rushes his opponent, slamming him back first into the closest turnbuckle. The referee rings the bell as Baron quickly lifts Jerry up and gives him a nasty Snake Eyes, followed up by a career ending big boot!!! Corbin could easily get the 1, 2, 3 right now if he wanted to, but he doesn't, wanting to make good on his promise of an impact. He yanks up the lifeless body of poor Jerry what's-his-name and swings him straight into an End of Days!!! 1 . . . 2 . . . 3! Who'd of thought it to be true, Baron Corbin def. Jerry Local Athlete!!!

Holy cow, King, this man's a beast!

What did he say about making an impact!? Wow . . . Flawless victory here tonight by Baron Corbin!!!

*The camera shifts from Baron Corbin standing over his victim to that of the announce team who are clearly in awe at what they just witnessed.*

Corbin certainly looks like he's going to be a force to be reckoned with around here after that display.  Can you remember a quicker debut match-up?  Unbelievable!

So last week, you made your highly-anticipated return to XWL after a spell away from the squared circle in a match-up against Adrian Neville.  Neville is a man similar to yourself in that he has a bright future ahead of him and will no doubt be a Superstar to watch over the next decade or so.  To defeat someone like Neville in your return match, in the way that you did, showcasing your power and dominance and finishing it with a devastating Spear that would break a man twice, maybe three times Neville's size... was it just the perfect return?  What are your thoughts on last week?



[Roman Reigns]
You know what Byron?  Let me ask you a question instead.  What do YOU think about my return last week?

*Byron is slightly taken aback at the response and takes a split second to think of his own answer.*



[Byron Saxton]
It was definitely impressive to say the least.

*Reigns appears quite upset as he barks back.*



[Roman Reigns]
Impressive isn't good enough for me.  I said last week that I'm here to be the very best and I meant that.  Last week was just another day at the office for me.  Another win and another notch on my belt... another feather in my cap.  The way I see it Byron, I'm the big bad wolf of XWL and everybody else... they're the sheep waiting to be victimized by me.  They're the sheep too afraid to go against the grain, mindlessly milling around going about their business... content with just being sheep.  But me, I'm different.  You cross my path and you get messed up.  You try to stop me from doing what I'm trying to do, and you're going to get hurt.  

*Reigns clearly means everything he says as a fire burns deep in his eyes.*



[Roman Reigns]
My routine every week here is going to be overcoming whoever is put in front of me, or stands in front of me trying to stop me, until I'm number one.  It's as simple as that.  Last week it was Adrian Neville.  This week, it's Kevin Nash.  Who knows who it'll be next week, the week after that, and every other week in the future.  Either way, it doesn't matter to me.

*Byron is surprised by this and fires another question in Reigns' direction.*

You don't think that anybody on the roster could pose a threat to you?



[Roman Reigns]
To be honest with you, I don't really take that much notice of what the other guys are trying to do.  Like I said, they're all a bunch of sheep... they're nothing special.  Nothing about any of them makes them stand out to me so I don't really get how or why the fans get behind certain guys like they do.  


[Roman Reigns]
I mean, you look at CM Punk and the guy is clearly an asshole but he's loved all around the world from New York, to London, to Sydney.  He's decent in the ring, but put him in there with me and I'd eat him alive.  It's crazy.  Then you have Steve Austin... a thug and an alcoholic who thinks that swear words and middle fingers are cool, yet he's as loved as anybody ever has been in this industry.  I can't explain it.  Don't even get me started on guys like Alex Shelley or Eric Young... I had to think twice just to remember their names right there.  And I don't mean any disrespect to any of those guys.  It's just there's a clear difference between them and me.  That's why it's One Versus All.

I could sit here for hours giving you examples just like that but as long as I have my own fans supporting me and I know that I'm doing my bit to stand out, I'm happy.  Because I know that sooner or later the success I want in my career will be achieved.  I might be sounding arrogant or over-confident but I don't mean to come across that way.  I just know I have what it takes.  It's in my blood and my heritage to succeed in professional wrestling and I intend on doing that in the best way I can.  It might take me weeks, months or years, but it'll happen.  



[Roman Reigns]
One day I'll be sitting here with the World Heavyweight Championship around my waist and I guarantee you that my name will go down in the history books.  It might seem like a bold statement right now, but when my career is over... when I've hit my final spear and I've hung up my boots for the last time... everybody will have no choice but to

XWL returns backstage where Dean Ambrose can be seen. He made his return to XWL last week in his irratic fashion and had some very kind words for his former partner Seth rollins, who later in the night returned the favour.



[Dean Ambrose]
Last week we saw Stephanie McMahon made right on some wrongs, whenever that woman starts spewing lies from her face I tend to tune out but something caught my attention, something drew me back in and made me listen very, very closely and it was that gesture, righting some wrongs in XWL history. A new-era, a new start, a new way of thinking? Is Stephanie McMahon true to her word? Is Stephanie McMahon going to right the wrongs that have been a mark on XWL's grand history so I started to wonder, maybe I'm going to get what's coming to me, maybe I'm going to get what I deserve, what I WAS NEVER GRANTED and that was my rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship. A long time coming but maybe it was time to let the past go and move on...

A brief smile reveals itself on Ambrose's face



[Dean Ambrose]
I walked into the building tonight with my head held high, expecting someone to find me and inform me that I will be competing in the main event against CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship tonight. But not only did nobody come to find me in the back, turns out I'm not even booked tonight. But I don't get it Steph, was it a lie? WAS IT ALL A LIE?! "RECTIFY A NUMBER OF WRONGS" that's what you said! Except that wasn't the wrong you were referring to... That wasn't the INJUSTICE that she was thinking about because as far as Stephanie McMahon is concerned Dean Ambrose is just a distant memory, not even an after thought in her ditzy, little head! She only had sought to correct one wrong... For one man...



[Dean Ambrose]
My brotha'...

Last week when Ambrose uttered those words a smile showed itself but not tonight, there is nothing but a cold gaze and distain



[Dean Ambrose]
I bet you're feeling pretty good about yourself right now. You stood out there last week, you made your cute little remarks about how you deserve this, how you see the "Bigger picture". You tell me I "Don't get ther system" and you're right Seth, I don't so please answer a  question for me so I can't understand. How does it feel going from the Baddest faction on the planet to having your balls put in Stephanie McMahon's purse? How does it feel knowing that there is a line backstage of people who want to kick your ass and not because "To be the man, you've got to beat the man" no... They want to kick your ass because you're an undeserving, SELLOUT, little BITCH that hides behind Stephanie McMahon's skirt and you better believe Seth, YOU BETTER BELIEVE that I am at the front of the line! You better BELIEVE that when I get my hands on you nothing will EVER BE THE SAME!



[Dean Ambrose]
You stand there in your cheap suit, with your fake Title from the fake tramp and you call me crazy? ME? CRAZY?! I could say that's like the pot calling the kettle black but what I would rather do is take that pot and SMASH YOU OVER THE HEAD WITH IT. Don't you dare, Seth... Don't you DARE let that vile, scumbag get into your head and let her make you believe that I am not a threat. I am not just a threat Seth, I am your nightmare, I am your deepest fears incarnate. You know what I am capable of, it's not a matter of "If" Seth... It's a matter of "When"...



[Dean Ambrose]
It might not be tonight...
It might not be tomorrow...
But rest assured Seth...
I will find you...
I will fight past everyone of The Authority's security if I have to...
And when I do, NOTHING will be the same...
Not you...
Not I...
Or XWL will be the same again...



[Dean Ambrose]
BELIEVE THAT!...

Ambrose stares into the distance, the camera remains focused on him, God only knows what sick and demented thoughts are actually running through Dean's mind right now. Aptly nicknamed "The Lunatic Fringe" but you can't help but wonder what Dean has in store for his former brother if he ever manages to get his hands on him.

Normal Match



Breakdown may be coming off a commercial break, but the action is nonstop.

Del Sol has RVD backed into the corner and nearly through his opponents skin with a hard chop. Del Sol then hoists RVD onto the top rope setting him up for a huge move. After climbing up himself, Del Sol is ready to hit a super hurricanrana! He leaps onto RVD's shoulders and tries to send them plunging to the mat, except RVD holds on tight!

Del Sol falls alone, but avoids taking any damage at all by doing a back handspring! On his feet again, Del Sol charges into the corner and eats a boot to the face courtesy of RVD. The Michigan native finds his footing while Del Sol staggers backward. With leap RVD takes to the air, nailing Del Sol with the Rider Kick!

Immediately, RVD tests to see if that was enough to earn him the victory...

One!



Two!


Kick out! The match continues as RVD backs up until he's pressed against the ropes. He charges forward with the rolling thunder, primed to put Del Sol away with his signature manuver! He gets all of it! The crowd is getting hot as RVD tries for the pin once again:

One!


Two!


Del Sol's shoulder shoots off the mat, keeping himself alive in the match. When He gets back to his feet RVD is right there pushing the offensive. After a hard kick to the midsection, RVD grabs Del Sol's hand allowing him to shoot his opponent across the ring.

Del Sol bounces off the ropes while RVD sets up for the back body drop. The attempt is a tad pre-mature and a split-second is all the time Del Sol needs. The masked man leaps onto RVD's back, stands there as if riding a surfboard, then drops down into a sunset flip Powerbomb that drives the back of RVD's skull against the mat!

One!


Two!


Kick out! The match isn't over yet! The crowd is split between these two men. They're obviously giving RVD a lion's share of the love; he's been in the business for decades and he's one of the few men from many of the XWL universe's childhood who's still around kicking ass today.

Still, the young upstart has been hanging in there, showing the crowd his heart, his passion and his desire to succeed in this company.

Del Sol works his way over to the corner, climbing to the top ready to put it all on the line for the chance to take the victory from one of the best this business has ever seen. The luchador takes a moment to find his footing, then throwing caution to the wind he jumps into the air, rotating his body beautifully 450 degrees but all gets are RVD’s knees to the ribs! Del Sol stands clutching his chest, trying to get some air into his lungs, while RVD seizes the opportunity and superkicks his opponent in the face!

As Del Sol, lays sprawled out on the mat, RVD leaps to the top in his signature fashion and moments later takes to the skies with the Five Star Frog Splash! He gets all of it! The impact makes RVD bounce off Del Sol as though he were made of rubber, but RVD crawls over and is able to make the cover:


One!



Two!



Three!











The crowd cheers when RVD’s theme hits the speakers. He rises to his feet clutching his stomach, the effects of the match clear as day. However, when his name is announced as the victor, RVD lets go long enough to do his signature self-point in time with the thousands of people in attendance.

Smiling, proud of what he was able to accomplish, RVD turns to see the ref helping Del Sol up to his feet. RVD takes over, and once Del Sol is up, he offers a hand, a shot of sportsmanship despite the fierce, competitive battle these men just put themselves through. After a moment, Del Sol accepts the shake and the crowd cheers at the show of respect. Del Sol exits the ring after allowing RVD to continue his victory celebration as Breakdown rolls on.

Micheal Cole: King! What a match that was!

Jerry Lawler: You're right Micheal! What a great match between such great talent!

Micheal Cole: Now ladies and gentlemen if you're just tuning in you're tuning in at the right time because we've got plenty more!

Jerry Lawler: Absolutely Micheal, I cannot wait for the main event.

Lilian Garcia: From St Louis,Missouri, He is the Apex Predator, Randy Orton!!

Jerry Lawler: Oh My, this crowd is truly on it's feet screaming their lungs out Micheal!

Micheal Cole: Why wouldn't they king?! it's the viper it's it's * Micheal begins to stutter *
