For the first time since the revival of XWL, Dean Ambrose captured the World Heavyweight Championship. Though he is no stranger to gold, he did seem to have a new take on his career after returning, first ending the streak of Brock Lesnar and then beating the other number one contender at the time, Randy Orton. Ambrose would go on to face Orton for the championship and ultimately win, defending against him only one time.

The new photo boy of the Authority arrived on the scene with quite the buzz, taking on then champion, Dean Ambrose. He would defeat Ambrose after quite the match, setting the stage for just a few weeks later. With the Authority backing him up, Balor would challege Ambrose for the belt, having been selected by the XWL Universe at Cyberslam. 4.) Dean Ambrose [2]

Won: 3-28-2016
Defenses: 1
Lost: 7-4-2016
Days Held: 98

Dean Ambrose is no stranger to this title, having won it from Randy Orton back a few before this reign started. After setting his sights on the Authority, he has become determined to hold onto the belt in an attempt to rebel against those in power. Winning it off of Finn Balor, who at the time was the Authority's "Next Big Thing" Ambrose has set the standard for your average rebel. Going through months of hell and coming out victorious at final stand, Dean Ambrose sets his sights on Downpour and his former partner and new number one contender, Roman Reigns.

5.) Roman Reigns [1]

Won: 7-4-2016
Defenses: 1
Lost: 9-5-16
Days Held: 63

After walking out of Downpour with the XWL World Heavyweight Championship around his waist, Roman Reigns has been a completely different man. Loved by some, hated by others, the Empire himself has walked around with quite the sense of confidence since winning the belt. Roman Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar with some controversy surrounding the outcome, being there was no verdict from the ref as to who won, but nonetheless, going into Emergence, Roman Reigns holds the title high for the challenge that awaits him.

6.) Brock Lesnar [1]

Won: 9-5-2016
Defenses: 1
Lost: 10-31-2016
Days Held: 56

Emergence was a groundbreaking event that saw Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, AJ Styles and the one and only, Brock Lesnar face off to not only decide the fate of the World Title, but also the fate of the company. The Beast Incarnate walked in and signed his name to history, walking out of the second biggest PPV of the year with his name across the belt and the title around his waist. Lesnar went on to prove that his victory wasn't a fluke by retaining the title against the former Champion, Roman Reigns. The Nightmare of Suplex City would continue to reign supreme over XWL as he heads into his second title defense against XWL's Phenomenal One at Roulette.

7.) AJ Styles [1]

Won: 10-31-2016
Defenses: 0
Lost: 63
Days Held: 01-02-2017

Roulette has gone down as one of the most historic events in XWL history as the show opened for the first time ever with the World Heavyweight Championship match. Although the outcome of the match was in favor of AJ Styles, things couldn't be more bittersweet for new face of XWL. AJ Styles had finally conquered the beast to claim XWL's richest prize but his celebration didn't last long as the golden ticket Matt Sydal stole the World Heavyweight Championship belt from AJ. However, Styles didn't let that get him down for long as he's planning a World Tour to unify all of the major championships from across the wrestling globe. Nevertheless, with an impending showdown with Sydal on the horizon and an inevitable rematch with the Beast Incarnate to come, the 2K17 premiere of XWL Anarchy will be another unforgettable night for the Phenomenal yet title-less XWL World Heavyweight Champion.Dragons

8.) Matt Sydal [1]

Won: 01-02-2017
Defenses: 0
Lost: 03-20-2017
Days Held: 77

The Golden Ticket emerged at Breakthrough as the new XWL World Heavyweight Champion. Sydal had the ultimate ups and downs on his path to the title and after having his calf crushed and even stealing AJ's title, Sydal has climbed to the top of the mountain once more in XWL. Sydal now has punched his ticket to the ultimate main event of Final Stand and is looking to cement his legacy as the true golden future and present of XWL.

9.) AJ Styles [2]

Won: 03-20-2017
Defenses: 0
Lost: 04-20-2017
Days Held: 0

In what was a long journey back to the top of the mountain AJ finally crawled his way back. After having attacked Matt Sydal to the point of losing his rematch clause, then to the point of regaining it, Styles went to the biggest stage of the all, Final Stand IX and almost stole the show having beaten Matt Sydal and stealing his golden ticket out from underneath him.

10.) R-Truth [1]

Won: 03-20-2017
Defenses: 0
Lost: N/A
Days Held: N/A

When it was said that AJ almost stole the show, it's R-Truth that is solely responsible for stealing the show. Mr. Money in the Bank walked into Final Stand and competed in a gauntlet,
throwing off the world from knowing that he planned on cashing in just later that night. After a hard fought title victory with Styles desperately clawing to the title, Truth took home the gold and with it, the Golden Ticket. His future is bright, but slightly..... Broken.
