The scene is New Orleans, Louisiana. A police officer is leisurely driving along an empty highway at night, passing a street sign that reads “Bourbon Street” that’s been spray painted with “P U R G E” in red paint. The officer is listening to instrumental jazz on the radio when suddenly…
[Public Address Announcer] This is not a test. This is your emergency broadcast system announcing the commencement of the Annual Purge sanctioned by the U.S Government. Weapons of class 4 and lower have been authorized for use during the Purge. All other weapons are restricted. Government officials of ranking 10 have been granted immunity from the Purge and shall not be harmed. Commencing at the siren, any and all crime, including murder, will be legal for 12 continuous hours. Police, fire, and emergency medical services will be unavailable until tomorrow morning, until 7 a.m., when the Purge concludes. Blessed by our New Founding Fathers and America, a nation reborn. May God be with you all.
The officer in his squad car finally just slams his palm down on the radio dial, shutting off the radio, shaking his head while taking a sip from his black coffee as he makes his way down Bourbon Street.
[Police Officer] This goddamn city...I need a vacation! I’m so si—JESUS CHRIST!
The squad car swerves off the road as he approaches towards a bus that has been set alight, a group of people surrounding it carrying baseball bats, lead pipes, and fire axes. This mysterious quintet turns around in unison, the shortest one in front ripping her mask off to reveal “The Psychotic Scot” Nikki Cross!
Nikki Cross suddenly pulls out her signature tire iron, draping it over her shoulder. However, the four people behind her are suddenly set up on a stage with musical instruments. In unison, they take their masks off, revealing themselves to be the members of Bring Me The Horizon.
The band begins to play as Nikki Cross slowly staggers towards the wrecked cop car, twirling her tire iron in her right hand while giggling maniacally to herself. As the camera swings around, you can see that New Orleans has delved into complete and total chaos. Cars overturned, buildings ransacked, glass destroyed, fires raging throughout the city...all behind XWL's resident "Twisted Sister" as she has her eyes set on nothing but destruction.
[Oli Sykes] Looked on the bright side, got keratitis And you can’t sit there unless you’re righteous I wear a happy face like I’m Ed Gein. I feel all numb now, is that a feeling? Like plastic boxed orange with no peel on, I wanna waste, I wanna waste, I wanna waste away…
As the instrumental to “wonderful life” plays in the background, Nikki Cross has a wild, wicked grin on her face before she leaps up and jumps onto the hood of the wrecked squad car. Nikki raises the tire iron over her head with both hands before beginning to bash the windshield in with repeated blows, shattering the glass as the officer inside covers his head.
[Nikki Cross] Let’s play...
[Oli Sykes] This is…not a drill no, this is the real world! Domesticated, still a little feral. Well, don’t you know to chew with your mouth closed? It’s all gone wrong!
Nikki jumps off the hood of the squad car, walking down Bourbon Street.
To her left, The Undisputed Era are sitting around an oil drum with flames flickering out of the top, all holding up their “U-E” hand symbol. To her right, Chris Sabin and Chad Gable are standing on a rooftop holding their Tag Team Championships high above their heads.
On the ground, Kenny Omega is armed with a baseball bat, shouting "YOU CANNOT ESCAPE!" before swinging it at Roderick Strong, the group pouncing on him in an instant while Matt Sydal slinks away down the sidewalk.
As she continues down the street, Alexa Bliss is seen with her arm around Kairi Sane while Ruby Riott is behind them, planning a vicious assault.
Toni Storm is sitting on the front steps to a music store while Shayna Baszler is fighting off a group of thugs single-handedly. Beth Phoenix tries to swing a crowbar at Becky Lynch, only to be taken down and put in the Disarmher in the middle of the street.
Liv Morgan is giggling and playing with her pigtails as she’s getting a piggyback ride from Sasha Banks, the duo moving past Natalya carrying her Women's Championship. Meanwhile, Ronda Rousey and Tessa Blanchard stand in the shadows at opposite sides of the street, both eyeing Natalya.
Finn Balor transforms from Man to Demon at the snap of a finger while Bray Wyatt stalks down the sidewalk holding his precious lantern. Eli Drake is carjacking a nameless dummy before Drew McIntyre boots a hole in the driver’s window, only for Matt Sydal to jump from the skies and land atop the car.
As Nikki Cross nears the end of the street, Johnny Gargano and Chris Jericho look each other in the eye, both men holding up their respective World Heavyweight Championship. Jericho has an arrogant smirk while Gargano looks on with pure determination as the XWL Roster begins to stand beside them on both sides of the street.
Battle lines are drawn as Nikki Cross walks through the sea of Superstars while they square up on either side of the street.
As soon as Nikki walks through them all, they charge into the middle of the street, a massive brawl erupting on Bourbon Street as numerous cop cars suddenly surround the massive melee.
However, Nikki is stopped dead in her tracks as a massive Venus Fly Trap shoots up from the ground, it’s mouth opening to reveal Peyton Royce sitting inside.
[Oli Sykes] Alone getting high on a Saturday night... I’m on the edge of a knife... Nobody cares if I’m dead or alive, Oh, what a wonderful life...
As the camera is still on Peyton Royce, Nikki Cross is suddenly brandishing a chainsaw. Nikki brings her mask down over her face before lifting up the chainsaw and bringing it down to slice into your living room.
[Nikki Cross] Oh, what a wonderful life...

Subject: Re: XWL Breakthrough: 1/7/2019 - 1/21/2019 Tue Jan 08, 2019 8:12 am
The cameras switch to the arena, showing a very excited crowd ready for the action to begin.
-Mauro Ranallo- Welcome everyone to New Orleans, LA and welcome to Breakthrough! We have championship matches, grudge matches, and everything in between. Corey?
-Corey Graves- That's right Mauro. We are going to see Chris Jericho and Johnny Gargano finally come to terms on who truly is better, and who will walk out of Breakthrough as World Heavyweight Champion. Can't leave out the women either, seeing Natalya facing off against Liv Morgan. And of course, Bray Wyatt vs Finn Balor in a Hell in a Cell match.
-Mauro Ranallo- That's only part of all the great action we will have here tonight, and I welcome you all again to XWL Breakthrough.
As soon as Mauro finishes his last syllable, the arena goes black. When the lights come back up, sitting in the middle of the ring cross legged is Aleister Black. The crowd is stunned, Aleister has not uttered a word in nearly a month, since the lights went out and in his place Finn Balor stood.
-Aleister Black- You. You all were so happy to see Finn in my place. I was ready to attack. To kill for your pleasure. But no. You choose a little man who is punching with someone high above him. All you people are the reason I did what I did to Tyler Breeze. Taking his head off, offering him up as a sacrifice. I needed you all to understand how serious I am. Deadly serious.
With one movement, Aleister goes from seated to standing. He moves around the ring, stalking it like a predator looking for his next meal.
-Aleister Black- What is to come. It is all your fault. I have seen the future of the XWL. I have seen it in flames. And when it's all burned to the ground. Only then, will you all be absolved of your sins.
The lights go out in the arena, and when they come back the ring is empty, as Breakthrough continues on.

As the lights returned following Aleister Black's ominous message, Breakthrough moves right along with it in the back of our mind as suddenly the titantron lights up, and the audience erupts in cheers for what they see. The Women's Champion that dominated 2018, and looks to carry on that dominance into the New Year as she's set to defend her title against Liv Morgan later tonight. Natalya Neidhart stands in front of a stationary camera ready to speak, and as she begins to the cameras cutaway from the ringside view and go directly to her feed.
[Natalya] As a New Year dawns, I reflect back to my "resolution" one year ago. I had one goal, a very simple goal at that. To seize 2018 as MINE, to leave no shadow of a shred of doubt that I am, THE BEST THERE IS, WAS, AND EVER WILL BE! I may have had a rough journey, a lot of setbacks, and shortcomings...but 2018 was going to be different. I would put the pieces of the puzzle that was my seemingly unattainable success together. And it wouldn't be easy, it would be harder than the near 3,000 days up to that point...but it would be MINE. At long last, the stars would align, and it would be MY time in the spotlight. I wouldn't just be that mother hen applauding the success of her peers anymore, I would be the one on top of that mountain, and when I finally scratched, and clawed my way up it? NOTHING would bring me down from it for a LONG time.
You hear the passion mixed with the remnants of pain in her tone, recalling her state of mind upon The New Year in 2018.
[Natalya] Nothing is forever, so to use that word wouldn't be realistic...but it wouldn't be a moment that you would miss in the blink of an eye, no, it was going to be CHANGE. For me, for the title, for the entire division and all of Women's Wrestling. I had big shoes to fill, a lot of broken promises to mend and retell. But 2018 was going to be THE year. I was done feeling sorry for myself, being a stepping stone for the next Champion I would congratulate shortly after...no...NO MORE. ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH, AND IT WAS TIME FOR A CHANGE!
Yet again the fiery intensity displays on her face, Natalya is a very emotional Superstar, because she hasn't had it easy, even despite the claims over the years from previous rivals that she was only here because of her last name she endured a period of lows for longer than any other active Superstar in XWL history. She was essentially coming to work everyday and despite her shortcomings would not throw in the towel or hang her boots up.
[Natalya] Maybe it was my best friend stabbing me in the back, maybe it was the year before where I suffered my most crushing defeat infamously on the night the entire world believed was mine to have. Maybe it was every night I let my fans down, my family down, and myself down. But something clicked, as the year ended I needed to set forth a revolution, not a resolution.
[Natalya] So I did, I worked harder than anyone else, proudly. I stopped waiting patiently in line for a spot to open up, and demanded that spot. I kicked open the "gate" of it's new keeper...and I vowed to prove I was WORTHY BECAUSE WHO WAS ANYONE TO TELL ME OTHERWISE! I BURIED the the woman that threw away our friendship for a "spotlight." I went IRON FOR IRON with the unstoppable and did what no one had previously, and beat her twice in one night proving once and for all that I not only could, but that she was right when she said I was the one who would carry that torch next. I proved that making me jump through hoops to get you to do your job as Champion, and WRESTLE...is the LAST thing you want to do against a HART. Against THE HART & SOUL OF THIS DIVISION!
While she's one of the kindest spirits in the entire Women's division, her expression reeks of "but do not mistake that kindness for weakness."
[Natalya] I ended The "Riott" and after 2,945 days....I showed everyone, especially myself...that I could, would, and WAS...capable of being CHAMPION. I risked it all, I bet on myself when everyone questioned if it was going to end up like every other time. I knew 2018 was different, and every month that passed by, was another example of why. But I wasn't satisfied, I wasn't going to throw my hands up and say "WOO HOO I DID IT ALL THE HARD WORK IS OVER." Because no, the hard work had only truly just begun. I worked hard to become Women's Champion...but if I wanted every moment up to that to truly be worth it? I had to not only become Champion, but STAY Champion.
[Natalya] My career began in an dungeon, I won The Women's Championship in a dungeon, so it was only fitting that my first test as Champion not only test me as much as any other dungeon had previously...but MORE. I was put in the "unfortunate" position of defending my title in The Elimination Chamber. A structure where SIX Women would enter, and one by one, they would be eliminated until only one stood left to remain Champion. An intimidating spot to be in, not due to the rules of the match, but due to it's history. For, not a single Champion...male, or female...had ever survived it's challenge. Every reign that stepped inside of it, was brought to an end, it either killed or created champions, it was not a battleground for them to prosper.
Her focus shifts away from the camera and to The Women's Championship on her shoulder, the title she would have to carry into the "impossible" Elimination Chamber.
[Natalya] I remember stepping inside of it, ironically in my entire tenure in XWL...it was the very first time I was apart of that match, and it was to defend my title, to do the impossible. And as if 2018 was prepared to chew me up and spit me out for daring to believe this year would be any different than the last...I would also have to start that match. Every possible way for the deck to be stacked against me, was in place. Add the incredible talent in there with me, and I stood no chance.
Her eyes still glued to The Women's Championship, her head begins to shake as if to say or that's what everyone thought...but not her. Not her fans that saw her conquer the impossible before and believed she could again.
[Natalya] But I wasn't about to voluntarily offer myself up for slaughter, no...if I was "doomed" I was going to expend every last piece of myself, blood, sweat, tears, bones, nails, teeth, WHATEVER I needed to...to at least TRY. To prove that 2018 WAS my year, that this title win wasn't a "fluke." It was the start of something INCREDIBLE. Against all odds, I did it....I RETAINED The Women's Championship...and cemented my name, and this title in history. The failure that couldn't achieve anything, just did the "impossible" again...and I didn't just get lucky...I DOMINATED. My name was Natalya Neidhart, I was your Women's Champion, and that is how it was going to stay. "Impossible" be damned, I WAS the impossible.
She redirects her gaze back to the camera, staring into the lens with power.
[Natalya] That is how 2018 was proven to be different than any other year, but it didn't stop there. I vowed that the entire year would be mine, and it was going to take more than one defense to cement that as a fact. Perhaps even greater a challenge than The Elimination Chamber would come next, my ex-best friend had returned from the depths I drove her into...and won her way into being my Number One Contender. A rivalry that captivated everyone, that elevated the division to be a centerpiece. It wasn't ideal for me, because I don't enjoy needless drama...but everyone has their moments, and I gave Sasha what she wanted. I gave into my anger over everything, and the buzz was so great over our encounter that we wouldn't just be competing on the grandest stage of them all one on one...no, it would be inside Hell in a Cell...the final dungeon I had yet to conquer. It would be contested for The Women's Championship...and it would be THE MAIN-EVENT!
While we know none of it was the ideal catalyst to that history achieving moment...you see her eyes light up as she recalls being apart of something that before then was only a legendary level dream. Something that was....impossible. And yet again her reign had proven nothing was impossible.
[Natalya] I still get chills thinking about it, knowing the struggle to even find myself on that stage, let alone in that position? My entire downfall started at Final Stand 8 years prior. An infamous Montreal like screw job courtesy of Lay-Cool & then General Manager Vickie Guerrero. The only "Final Stand Moment" of mine that was "immortalized in my entire XWL tenure? Was the worst night of my entire career. And now it was all coming full circle. I had the biggest possible task ahead of me, and redemption at my fingertips. Because if I could somehow win? If I could prove I could retain on that stage, that no Dungeon could defeat me, I would finally be free of that painful memory, and never again would anyone think of that night 8 years ago when they think of me. They would know me as The Women that Main-Evented Final Stand, and left...STILL Women's Champion.
[Natalya] My promise to seize 2018 for my own, was holding strong, and I was finally showing the entire world what I could do, what kind of Champion I could be. Each Pay-Per-View I walked into, ended in nothing but VICTORY. For the entirety of 2018, I remained unbeaten on every big stage and I held firm to MY Championship...but, from such "unstoppable" strength can come a weakness. I had already began to celebrate my success, to...look at all of The Slammy Awards and as December entered the fray, I had done it. My revolution was complete, a perfect year...but my year was not yet done. I found myself in The Main-Event of Anarchy against The New AND First Ever North American Champion Toni Storm in A Champion Vs Champion Match. We went to war for 70 minutes, taking on each other's best and surviving every bit of it. I was being pushed to my limit, beyond them but so was she. It was the kind of match that even inspired me to follow in the footsteps of my family and join The Wrestling business. Just pure talent on display, until...our fun was ruined by Liv Morgan, and after suffering defeat, after they had tainted Toni's victory...she alongside Sasha Banks the consistent thorn in my side...beat me down as a message...no harm, right? Just your typical attack, you'll be okay the next week....but then it happened.
The Queen of Harts expression grows sour, as she remembers that moment in great detail, its foggy because she was already so spent, but it was the moment that could have ended her 2018 on the worst possible note.
[Natalya] Miss Money In The Bank came knocking...and with possession of the very case that brought about the end of the last dominant Champion, April...the reign that inspired my own. Carmella sprinted down that ramp, to repeat history...and defeat the "unbeatable" Champion with the very power that has proven effective for many in the past, including bringing an end to the longest reign a Women's Champion had achieved. My year, my perfect year...over, at least...that's what everyone expected the story to be, right? Toni Storm tried to stop it, fans booed, angry that this was happening...but I stood there, barely able to stand...and I didn't try to beg, to plead, to cry, to give my title one last kiss...no, I looked at that case, and I saw red. I saw the anger I had when it ended April's reign. THE KIND OF CHAMPION THAT CAME FROM THAT CONTRACT!
Natalya's been very outspoken over how she feels April was robbed, that instead of the person beating her becoming the next great Champion like you would expect after such a dominant run, it was a downgrade from everything April built because Ruby Riott didn't have to face the best at a hundred percent, she picked on a weakened Champion after she had already competed and as she found herself in April's shoes her anger now extended to the idea of her own ending that way.
[Natalya] After EVERYTHING I had endured, I would be DAMNED if THAT was how it all ended. There was no easy path to being Champion, because mine was more difficult than anyone else has ever had. I overcame a lot to be where I was, to PROVE there WAS another way. To break the status quo of what it meant to be successful. I refused to lose that way, to let someone waltz in there with a shortcut to the top of the mountain. So as that bell rung, as I stumbled forward into her super kick, and fell flat on my back..as she clung to my leg kicking her feet as if she had achieved anything worth being "giddy" I heard the referee's hand hit the mat in my faint foggy state. Once...and my reign began to flash before me, twice....and I laid there, asking how I could let myself fall to the very thing I vowed to not let be the end of me. And then his hand came down for that third time, and I don't know how, or what came over me....but I found the strength within to kick my shoulder up off that mat, and say NO. NO you are not going to take this from me, not like this, THAT WAS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!
Her vivid description almost makes us feel like we're able to go to that moment ourselves, and feel what she felt when it all nearly came crashing down.
[Natalya] But what could I do in my dire state? I was beaten, I didn't have much left in me, if anything at all. As she stalked me, as I stumbled up and she readied her kick one more time...I had one chance, and I seized it. I caught her foot, tripped her up, and locked her in The Sharpshooter. I dug deep, I held firm...and did...once again...THE IMPOSSIBLE. I bridged back, and she was left with no choice but to TAP OUT! Because after all, my reign was about shattering the "impossible." We've already established that, so it was only fitting that my final challenge of 2018, was overcoming the very thing that ended my best friend's historic reign. I stand here now in 2019, humbled and proud of what I accomplished in the year before. I stand here excited for what 2019 might have in store for me. Most of all I stand here now, entering my 10th Pay-Per-View since my "streak" as you'd call it began ready to face my 7th title defense.
Whenever any Champion reaches this point you know they've grown very attached to the idea of being Champion, especially Natalya who had to wait for so long for this moment to come, a bit of joy returns to her face as obviously she weathered the storm 2018 had for her, and with that comes relief because while she's recalling these events it all ultimately played out in her favor.
[Natalya] It's strange, because ironically enough...my challenger tonight Liv Morgan was right there when I defended my title the first time. She started The Elimination Chamber with me, and she was the very last person I eliminated...but as I've grown and evolved...so has she. She's not the same spunky fun loving rookie that burst onto the scene to seize the day. She's different now, she's evolved into a wildcard that could bring an end to everything I hold dear because I don't know what to expect from her. Not only is she unpredictable, not only has she grown leaps and bounds from that "rookie" that arrived last year. But she's been coached this entire time by my former best friend, The Woman that knows me better than anyone else. That knows my strategies, every move I might make, the will that I possesses, and the knowledge of how it all can go wrong against me. Sasha's experiences, her shortcomings, are like reminders of what not to do against me, and the hindsight of what she would have done differently every single time.
It's a unique type of challenger that will meet her for The Women's Championship tonight because in theory, Liv has been trained by the very Woman that knows Natalya better than anyone in the entire world. It's like she's been given all the tools to succeed where many have failed.
[Natalya] Make no mistake about it, Liv...it's going to take a lot more than homework to prepare for tonight...because you're not facing the same Woman you or Sasha for that matter last faced. You are going ONE ON ONE...with a Woman that has not lost on Pay-Per-View in 14 months. Let that sink in, no...seriously...wipe the cute little grin off your face right now...stifle your laugh as you try to make light of that...and truly let that sink in. That is not "luck" that is dominance that will not subside to anything less than THE BEST. So for your sake, I hope you're taking this seriously. I hope you and Sasha aren't hatching some scheme to try and rob me of this, because I'll save you the trouble. Whatever you could do? It won't work. I know Sasha you've promised you will let the match be between us, that you won't be ringside...but I know you. I know, just like you know me...I know you just as well. I've gained a knack for sniffing out your deceit at this point...and I smell something. I don't know what, but I don't buy this act. If you try to ambush me on that ramp, or hide under the ring to hold my feet down when she's pinning me, or toss her some weapon from who knows where when the referee is distracted....I will have them setup a grave before this show is over and bury you alive again.
It was this very event one year ago where Sasha Banks & Natalya made history competing in a Buried Alive Match, and Natalya casually takes this time to remind Sasha of that, she did it once before...and if you push her, she may not actually have someone build a grave site at the top of the stage so she can actually bury her alive...again...but we've also seen a side that Sasha brings out of Natalya. So maybe she will? Maybe she's speaking very candidly and allowing her thoughts to leave unfiltered from her mouth about what state of mind she's in as she prepares to face Liv Morgan tonight. It's a fact that Sasha Banks has easily deceived The Queen of Harts in the past, and tonight with the stakes very high for Natalya...she's not willing to take a chance on that happening. So she's making it clear, if they're up to any funny business they will feel her wrath just like Sasha felt Natalya's wrath at this very event last year when she drove her back into the top of a tombstone with a powerbomb, and into the grave where she buried her alive. As she collects herself, her breathing slows down, and she essentially settles her teakettle.
[Natalya] Now of course if you're making it your resolution to be a better person, and I'm just being paranoid, I'm sorry. But my point stands. If you two have something cooked up, instead of holding up to your word, and giving me the fair fight Liv agreed to when she shook my hand...you BOTH will be sorry.
With that final warning, whether warranted or not, Natalya removes The Women's Title from her shoulder and raises it up into the lens of the camera so that Liv Morgan can see it very clearly. That it is hers, that it has been hers, and no matter what happens tonight? It will STAY hers. You see determination in The Anvilette's eyes, a will to continue her dominance into The New Year just as she did for the entire past year. It may be a time for Superstars to turn things around and resolve to change their position. But for Natalya? She is in the opposite position than she was last year. This year, she starts it off with everything to lose, and thus that is her resolution, to not change anything, to not turn things around because it's no longer an arguable statement. She is the best in this division, the best champion as voted at The Slammy Awards, and that is how she wants to remain. Because after 2,945 days of failure...she has tasted success, a long standing flavor that just gets sweeter as time goes on. Will her reign survive tonight? Or will a new Champion in Liv Morgan "Breakthrough" the New Year as the one that ended not only Natalya's reign, but her Pay-Per-View streak as well? The camera remains on Natalya and her title for a couple more tense seconds before we fade out to a hype for tonight's Main-Event between long-time rivals Johnny Gargano & Chris Jericho...Co-World Heavyweight Champions...that tonight only ONE will remain.
It was one of the biggest shows of the year and the man of the hour, Curt Hawkins had roped himself onto the card against a man many say is a legend and the man that made the sport what it is today. This was a big moment for the man and the sport. This was a man who had gone on a losing streak for over a year, but since coming to XWL he has done only one thing, win - win and win some more and now here he is, at the biggest show of the year and you know - you just know a victory here will change everything for him.
RULES OF FIGHTING: 1) DON'T BRING A KNIFE TO A GUN FIGHT. 2) DON'T BRING A GUN TO A CURT HAWKINS FIGHT.
CURT HAWKINS IS THE ONLY MAN WHO HAS, LITERALLY, BEATEN THE ODDS. WITH HIS FISTS.
CURT HAWKINS CAN KICK THROUGH ALL 6 DEGREES OF SEPARATION, HITTING ANYONE, ANYWHERE, IN THE FACE, AT ANY TIME.
Curt Hawkins would appear backstage. His hair was slicked back, his cane was raised upwards and resting against his shoulder - this was a man who came to compete, this was a man who has come to win.
“Heartbreak kid, Showstopper, Shawn Michaels, tonight you get the chance to walk into a main event match for the very first time here and with that you get the chance to prove to the world that you are as good as you say you are. Right now at this very moment I don’t believe you are as good as you say you are. Never believed you were any good and probably never will believe you are any good to be honest. But regardless of me not believing you are any good you still have the chance to prove me wrong and defeat me. Imagine that? A man of your age would go on and defeat the man of facts, that would be quite a boost to your career here wouldn’t it? It is just a real shame that there is no way in hell that I am going to allow some senior citizen to get the better of me. Everyone calls you one of the best there ever was, people have whispered into my ear all week long that you are still as good as ever, but no matter how good you are right now, I am still far better than you. Even if you were in your prime and you stepped into the ring with me you would still be outclassed by me, that’s how good I truly am when I get into the ring. Nobody stands above me, nobody that’s my equal. Everyone stands below me as I am truly the greatest wrestler there is in this company and the entire world. They may say you are the best, but deep down they all know that is a lie as they know that I am the one and only true showstopper.”
Curt Hawkins would chuckle to himself as he calls himself Shawn Michaels nickname as he then gets focused against and continues where he left off. This was not a laughing matter, as hard as it was for him, it was time to get serious.
“Shawn Michaels I have to give you some credit for coming back to this business. It has been years since you have gotten in the ring and all you have done to pass the time from your absence is hunt wild animals and make small unimportant appearances from time-to-time. I don’t know what possessed you, or made you think that it was a good idea to return to the ring, but you should know it is a mistake. Every match you have had here, you have not shown up, it is excuse after excuse - will you even show tonight? Who the hell knows, but the one thing I do know is that I will be in the ring tonight and I will take the victory one way or another. You have had no time to really get yourself back into shape. You have had no time to train yourself for someone like me and what little training you have actually done will not be enough to defeat someone like me. If you think for a minute that you still have your old touch then you must be joking. I am not like everyone else, I am not afraid of your legacy. To me you are nothing and I will prove that tonight. Time and time again people doubt me. Everyone expects me to lose and just because you are the mighty Shawn Michaels everyone expects me to fall to you tonight. I have overcome so much here, I have had to overcome a lot more than you Shawn Michaels; tonight is basically a walk in the park for me, that’s how confident I am. I have beaten men twice as good as you. Twice your size and twice your strength and everyone expected them to defeat me. I have made a name for myself around here for proving people wrong and I will once again take pride in proving people wrong but defeating you. I need to regain lost ground and what better way to do that than defeat someone like you Shawn Michaels. The people still adore you for some odd reason, so defeating you will bring the people back in line and see that Curt Hawkins still means business here. You have everything to gain from winning this match and I have everything to lose if that happens. I normally don’t really give a damn about the victories, but tonight I really need this one and I will do anything and I mean anything to gain it against you.”
For the second time now Curt Hawkins would chuckle to himself as he takes a small pause and then continues.
“Shawn Michaels has one goal and only one goal tonight and that is simple. He is looking to defeat me and prove that he has not lost his touch. Not many people are handed an opportunity like this and Shawn Michaels is looking to make the most of it. This match tonight is one of the most important of my career. I know that I have said this from time to time, but now I truly mean it. This is the match that will define who I am here. In the time that I have been here this is the most important match I have ever been in as this is the one that will make my career or break my career. I am going out to that ring tonight to prove why I am better than Shawn Michaels. I am going out to that ring to prove why I am a champion in the making. I am going out to that ring to show the world why they should be paying attention to Curt Hawkins. There is only one way now that I can get the respect and attention I deserve and that is by defeating Shawn Michaels. I am going to be known as the guy that defeated Shawn Michaels and ended his career once and for all. I promise each and every one of you that I will be the guy remembered for handing Shawn Michaels a crushing defeat, one that he may never recover from. Shawn Michaels I know you doubt me, just like everyone else you don’t believe I am a serious threat here. You are making a mistake to underestimate me. I am better than you. I am stronger than you. I am faster than you and I am hungry for victory. I don’t care how much the people respect you Shawn Michaels, I promise to do whatever it takes to walk out the winner and I do mean that I will do anything to be the winner tonight.”
With that last line being said, Curt Hawkins would take a second as he looks around himself for a moment. He quickly gathers his thoughts and continues from where he left off, obviously having more to say about Shawn Michaels.
“Shawn Michaels you may think that tonight is all about you. That tonight is about your career getting back on track here in XWL, but you are a fool if you believe that. Tonight is about Curt Hawkins. It is about me proving everyone wrong. Tonight is about me defeating you. You are not my biggest challenge, but you are the biggest name I have ever faced. Not many people can say they have wrestled Shawn Michaels and I get to be in with that elite few. I also get to be in with the elite few that have beaten you. Tonight is my moment, my moment to get myself back on top. This night is all about me showing the people that they should have faith in me! Shawn Michaels tonight is not your night. Be grateful enough for being a part of my moment, because when tonight is over and done with, no one will ever remember the name Shawn Michaels.”
FACE THE FACTS OLD MAN - YOUR TIME IS OVER!

Breakthrough transitions to a video labeled "Earlier Today". As we begin, we see XWL Superstar Kenny Omega as he looks off into a large group of people standing in front of him. It seems to be a media scrum as he is surrounded by reporters from all over the world. Off-camera reporters begin to ask their questions.
[Reporter 1] "Kenny, tonight you go one-on-one with..."
The reporter is interrupted.
KENNY OMEGA "Whoa..whoa..whoa! What's the rush? We can get to my match later, but I would love nothing more than to talk about tonight... Breakthrough. A night for people to make a name for themselves. A night for people to put their stamp on the new year. This time last year at Breakthrough, I made my mark when I defeated Seth Rollins. After that I would continue the momentum from that match, nearly sweeping Rollins in a Best of 7 Series. A series that you will never hear him mention, because it emotionally scarred him and he fears me to this day... but that's for another time."
Kenny laughs at Seth Rollins briefly before continuing.
KENNY OMEGA "Breakthrough has always been a show of opportunity... but unfortunately that isn't the case this year. Just look at the card! The same few names have been at the top of the card for the last year! Why? I know why... Everyone knows why but no one has the cojones to say it. The main event scene is nothing more than a popularity contest in XWL. It doesn't matter how hard you work, how much time and effort you put in to your craft. At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is who your friends are. Besides Natalya, these jokes of professional wrestlers have been handed everything they've ever had."
A reporter from Kenny's former home of Japan asks a question in Japanese. Subtitles appear at the bottom of the screen.
[Reporter 2] あなたがしたばかりの声明の後、あなたはあなたがXWLの経営陣に間違っていると感じますか? (After the statement you just made, do you feel you been wronged by the management in XWL?)
Kenny smiles for a moment, appreciating the Japanese reporter flying all the way to New Orleans to ask him a question. He responds in Japanese.
(Yes, absolutely. I started last year off great, but the management here are petty. Once they find their shiny new toy, they toss the older but just as good.. if not better ..toy off to the side. I believe I have proven myself in XWL as a championship contender, but my hard work.. my dedication.. has gone unnoticed.)
Omega continues in English.
KENNY OMEGA "These fans deserve better and they know it. They don't want to watch some decrepit has-been go one-on-one with some high school gym dwelling loser that couldn't even lace my boots on his best day! These people want to see something they'll remember for the rest of their lives! These people want to see something that will actually excite them! These people want to watch the greatest wrestling matches of all time.. and who better to give them that than The Best Bout Machine.. Kenny Omega."
[Reporter 3] "Well tonight Kenny, you go one-on-one with Roderick Strong. How are you feeling going into this match?"
KENNY OMEGA "Roderick Strong is irrelevant to me. Roderick Strong will ALWAYS be irrelevant to me. Roderick came out one week on Anarchy thinking he was a tough guy and challenged me to this match tonight. If I had literally ANYTHING else going on tonight, I would have gladly declined facing this joke... but here we are. Tonight, I am going to show everyone just why Roderick Strong is not on my level. After I embarrass this Undisputed runt, I am gunning for the World Heavyweight Championship. Tonight, I show everyone once again why I am the Alpha... why I am the Whole Shebang... why I am the Best In The World."
KENNY OMEGA "GOODBYE..AND GOOD..NIGHT!"
As Kenny walks away from the media, Breakthrough transitions to it's next segment.

The camera cuts to a dimly lite room that obscuring fog begins to fill as creepy music begins building.
Just a few feet in front of the camera we can barely make out a table. A hand emerges from the fog, and motions for the camera to come closer. The camera without hesitation draws closer until we get merely inches away from the table. A figure can be seen from within the fog. Then the hand of the figure emerges from the frog slamming down an urn absolutely scaring the cameraman. A mysterious, but somehow familiar voice emerges from the fog.
.:Voice:. I am his keeper now. He was casted away from society like myself, and by all your judgement. We were sentenced to hell, but little did you all know know. I am the queen of hell, and darkness. Those who feel tossed away from society. Follow behind me, and you shall get your justice. You shall get your revenge. To you meat sacks who sit out there, and watch all around the world. Next week will start The Reckoning of XWL. You all will watch as your heroes will be tortured, and picked apart. We shall paint the canvas in blood of your heroes, and it will be a picture we will love to see..
A slight excited giggle emerges from the fog as the figure begins to step forward to reveal Rosemary looking directly into the camera.
.:Rosemary:. Next week... it begins...
A smile forms across her face as she grabs her urn, and walks out of frame laughing to herself.

With anticipation through the roof for this the first Pay-Per-View event in 2019, fans let out a loud mixed response as The Undisputed Era's all too familiar "SHOCK THE SYSTEM" echoes through the P.A. Graphics along the stage, and ramp light up with a mix of red and gold, the stretched ramp acting as the perfect center piece to the display as it lights up from the top to the bottom of the ramp "Undisputed Era." Just as the rift triggers, each member of the group proceeds to step out from the back. First is Matt Sydal, decked out in his best "gold" attire, rocking an Undisputed Era t-shirt under a jacket that seems to have mixed his "Golden" persona with his association with the group. Of course around his waist is The Intercontinental Championship which he'll be defending tonight in the first ever Triple Threat 60 Minute Iron Man Match.
Next out comes Roderick Strong, wearing a track jacket black in color with a golden yellow stripe running across the shoulders and down the sleeves with the Undisputed Era logo on the front. Roderick with his hair slicked back, noticeably wet, begins zipping and unzipping the zipper on his jacket smiling from ear to ear knowing tonight he is going to avenge what happened last week after he was viciously attacked at the hands of Kenny Omega.
Behind him are the duo of reDRagon, Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly. They are full of the confidence and swagger which has also been displayed by their brothers in arms, making a motion around their waists as they look to claim the Tag Team titles later on in the night against the Trash City Stupid Idiots.
Coming from the side view is The Bruiserweight’ Pete Dunne who is taping up his wrists as he’s walking out alongside his band of misfits He bites off the wrist tape end and is wearing his fresh Undisputed Era tee that is accustomed to him. Dunne puts in his mouthpiece and raises his fist up to his cheek strikingly. All that is on his mind is how he’s going to bend Sami Zayn to his will later on this evening. Poised and ready as he is, he looks over his left shoulder awaiting one man who made this group even possible.
[Mauro Ranallo] There they are, Matt Sydal, Roderick Strong, Pete Dunne, Kyle O'Reilly & Bobby Fish these five men make up The Undisputed Era.
[Corey Graves] All 5 of these Men have big fights ahead of them this evening, but I wonder what brings them out here right now?
[Renee Young] Well word around the locker room is that with it being a New Year...and the first Pay-Per-View of 2019 they want to come out here and remind everyone why they are indisputably the greatest collection of Superstars to ever be assembled. Alone they may have their own rivalries right now, but at the end of the day? They are brothers bound together by the same thing.
[Mauro Ranallo] A polarizing group at that, Matt of course as The Golden One is one of the most beloved Superstars in The XWL Universe, but as for his fellow members that love isn't as strong.
[Renee Young] Well to that point, Mauro...we have to remember that Matt Sydal wasn't exactly well liked in his beginning either, we grew to love him.
[Corey Graves] Some of us took that literally, huh Renee?
[Renee Young] We don't talk about that anymore, Corey. Besides I am a married Woman now, my past isn't relevant to the discussion.
[Mauro Ranallo] Anyways the determination in their eyes as they stand on that stage is truly unmistakable.
[Corey Graves] Everyone always goes on about New Year's resolutions, but to them? Their resolution is to keep being The Undisputed best, and to lengthen their Championship resumes, same as always.
All five Superstar look back and forth at one another, proudly standing united at the top of the ramp before they proceed down it. Matt points out a "Zayns in for a bruising" sign to Pete who cracks a feint smile at it. The duo of Kyle O'Reilly & Bobby Fish take this opportunity to snatch a sign in support of The Tag-Team Champions Chad Gable & Chris Sabin and proceed to rip it up, shouting "we're leaving THE NEW CHAMPIONS TONIGHT!" Leaving the fan to cross their arms annoyed by their stunt. Roderick Strong seems quite in good spirits until he spots a sign for Kenny Omega, but instead of following in the footsteps of his fellow brothers just a moment ago he opts to snatch a sharpie marker from another fan who wanted an autograph, and leans forward drawing the classic "mustache and sinister eyebrows over Omega's portrait on the sign. Having done so he proceeds to hand the sharpie back to the original fan, not granting her the autograph which leaves her disappointed. With their antics settling down on their path down the ramp, they at last reach the end of it and all stare at the ring where individually tonight they will all do battle.
[Renee Young] These 5 Men are all setup for success tonight, in spite of who The General Manager is, they have a spot on the card, and two of those spots are title matches.
[Mauro Ranallo] Matt Sydal of course put in a 60 Minute Iron Man Match against former Champion Eli Drake and The Sinister Scotsman Drew McIntyre.
[Corey Graves] For the first time Iron Man Rules will extend over to a Triple Threat Match, and this is going to be a difficult match for The Champion to overcome.
[Renee Young] Before reclaiming his title of The Golden One, Matt had recently referred to himself as The Iron Man Of XWL, claiming notable victories in that type of match back to back, obviously in classic JBL fashion he had used Matt's words against him much like he did back at Roulette with then Champion Eli Drake.
[Mauro Ranallo] The Elimination Match spelled the end of Eli's reign, can Matt somehow avoid a similar fate tonight?
[Corey Graves] With 60 minutes on that clock, he not only has to secure more falls than the other Gentlemen, but also prevent them from getting falls because that makes his job to retain that much more challenging.
Collectively they slide into the ring with authority, Pete making his way to the furthest left corner, Roderick the nearest left, Kyle & Bobby each mount the right corners motioning around their waist that they'll be The New Tag-Team Champions tonight. While Matt Sydal walks over to the ropes, stepping up onto the middle rope and raising his Intercontinental Championship up high and proud.
[Mauro Ranallo] The second Championship Match will see Kyle O'Reilly & Bobby Fish challenge The Trash City Stupid Idiots for The Tag-Team Championship after a whole lot of shenanigans have played out this past month.
[Corey Graves] I mean Chad Gable was pinned in the middle of the ring at Roulette, therefore The Undisputed Era were right to think they were The Tag-Team Champions.
[Renee Young] Normally, but as Kyle O'Reilly secured that pinfall, Chris Sabin was paying homage to his tag-team partner with an Ankle Lock that saw Bobby Fish tap out as well. Meaning they would retain.
[Mauro Ranallo] Belts have been stolen, and traded back and forth the past several weeks, but tonight it's all settled when one team leaves with both belts as The Tag-Team Champions.
After posing for a bit, they each dismount from their positions, and retrieve microphones through the ropes from a ringside assistant, once again lining up, this time in the center of the ring. Matt Sydal, with a gold microphone instead of the traditional XWL mic raises his up first as if he'd like to kick things off. His fellow members seem to have no problem with this, and turn to him as he prepares to start their address to The XWL Universe, and their opponents tonight.
[Matt Sydal] Ladies and Gentlemen, you are in the presence of the living, breathing embodiment of what it means to be THE BEST. Five Superstars, incredibly talented, and determined to never settle, to never stand by while others roam around with what WE want. You see, it's a New Year...and everyone's always talking about "resolutions" to their problems from the year prior, but you know what's funny about that? As we rack our brains, as we ponder what problems we really need to "resolve" The consensus is this, we are the solutions to our problems by simply existing. By coming together last year, we were the answer to any dilemma we could ever face.
Matt takes a moment to re-position his Championship before proceeding with his statement.
[Matt Sydal] One year ago, I walked out of this company because I had been taken for granted, and the company that I carried on my back for many "eras" told me it's either this...or you've gotta go. But see, my solution wasn't to fight an unwinnable war, it was to find Men to help carry me through that war. Men that thought like me, that fought as hard as me, that viewed themselves "the best" like me. Men that once assembled, would be unstoppable. We fought like hell, like any other day in our careers, and at Final Stand last year, we dismantled JBL's "cabinet" and proved everything we ever said. JBL may have weaseled his way into becoming our "boss" but as problematic as that may be, it still was easily solved...by being us. Look at me, I wanted a title, to be The Golden One again...and try as JBL did to prevent me from achieving that...fate, granted me the opportunity to spite him, and my talent granted me THIS.
The audience cheers loud as Matt thrusts his Intercontinental Championship into the air for all to see, Pete, Roderick, Bobby, and Kyle all applauding their brother proudly.
[Matt Sydal] I had a problem, I resolved it. And sure, being Intercontinental Champion with a power hungry General Manager trying to set you up for failure isn't easy, it's a problem all on it's own...but whenever something difficult comes my way, I bet on myself and I always come up big. See, when I first burst onto this scene, I was cocky, and people thought I couldn't back it up...kind of like you viewed my brothers, right? Young cocky pricks that believe their own hype because no one else will. But just like me, they're destined to make you believe in them too. 2019 is the year we run this company, from every title it has, to every event that takes place. Just look at Roderick Strong, the guy that was left off of Roulette, fought to be noticed, to be included, and now tonight square off with everyone's favorite loser, Kenny Omega.
Fans take exception to Matt's depiction of Omega, while Roderick nods in agreement with what Sydal said.
[Matt Sydal] Hey, don't boo the messenger, boo the man that despite opportunity after opportunity, has faltered under pressure. He could be standing here as Intercontinental Champion, just like I am right now. Because a month before my opportunity, he beat Eli Drake in a non-title match, just like I did heading into my Championship Match. But the difference between he and I? When he had to do it again, when the stakes got a bit higher...he fell flat on his face, and tonight? My boy Roddy here? Is going to break his back, just like Kenny breaks all of his promises.
Roderick Strong Last week I was brutally attacked at the hands of Kenny Omega while preparing for my match causing me to not be able to perform that night. Absolutely uncalled for, but he was lucky I was alone because if the boys were there to protect me it would have been a whole different ball game, I mean it’s downright cowardly to do something like that wouldn’t you think? At least give me a shot to get back up and beat your ass like a man, but no you left out like the coward you really are.
Fans begin chanting “You’re a coward”, “You’re a coward”
Roderick Strong But speaking of left out, being left out of Roulette was a tough pill to swallow, but I knew it would be up to luck regardless of what situation I would have been in. But that’s a part of life. When you get knocked down, you get up, dust yourself off, and make it your mission to not fall again. Tonight, is that night, tonight is the night that I beat “The Best Bout Machine” Kenny Omega. Tonight, is the night that I “The Messiah of the Backbreaker” Roderick Strong begin my path to Andrade “Cien” Almas and his newly won Television Championship and prove why I’m Undisputed. Just like my brothers in arms Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish, better known as reDragon.
The crowd begins chanting their name as both Fish and O’Reilly look around egging on the crowd getting them riled up and hyped for their Tag Team Championship match later on tonight.
Roderick Strong You see, these boys right here are one of the best tag teams to date, and tonight they are going to further submit their legacy as just that. Kyle, Bobby I’m sure you will agree when I say the Trash City Stupid Idiots have far over stayed their share of the title reign it's time for something new, something fresh, something undisputed.
[Bobby Fish] That's right, Roddy! The entire tag division needs a change, tonight is the start of something special...Once we defeat those idiots, hopefully they never step foot in an XWL ring again! They've made them titles seem like a joke...but me and Kyle here...Will make those titles relevant. Just like Matt did with the Intercontinental title. Because whatever the Undisputed Era touches...instantly becomes relevant. So by even stepping in the ring with Chris Sabin and Chad Gable we're doing them a favour...We're actually getting people to talk about them and pay attention to them! It's like our own form of charity.
[Bobby Fish] For once, a Trash City Stupid Idiots match...won't be a toilet break! And that's all because of us. Fans all over the world will be tuning in to see new champions crowned! To finally see a real tag team lead the way in this division, They got away with keeping those titles at Roulette....but tonight, they won't be so lucky! Tonight me and Kyle are taking them titles. THEN It'll be time for an Undisputed Era party!
O'Reilly raises up his microphone.
[Kyle O'Reilly] For years Bobby and I have scratched and clawed to get to XWL. We traveled the world honing our craft and we became one of the greatest tag teams in the world. No, we became THE best tag team in the world!
O'Reilly is all fired up as his comrades nod in agreement.
[Kyle O'Reilly] Everybody knew that we were the best. The only thing missing, was claiming a championship in the biggest company in our industry... XWL. But here we are. Tonight is the night. We've always said that sooner or later that the Undisputed Era would be drenched in gold. Matt here got our first piece and tonight Bobby and I fulfill our destiny and claim our own by bringing the Tag Team Championships to their rightful home: Not around the waists of the parody tag team known as Trash City Stupid Idiots... but with reDRagon and with the Undisputed Era!
O'Reilly lets his words sink in as the crowd cheers in anticipation of the highly anticipated Tag Team Championship match.
[Kyle O'Reilly] But that's not all. You see, tonight is going to be an even more historic night for the Undisputed Era. Because not only is Matt Sydal going to retain the Intercontinental Championship and show everybody exactly why he is the "Golden One"... not only is Roderick Strong going to break the back of Kenny Omega... not only are Bobby and I walking out of here as Tag Team Champions... let's not forget that the "Bruiserweight" himself, Pete Dunne will finally put that annoying little dweeb Sami Zayn out of action once and for all! Tell 'em Pete!
Dunne takes the microphone and nods to Kyle with approval.
THE BRUISERWEIGHT’ Pete Dunne I’ve waited for far too long to get my hands on that runt, that pesky bottom feeder that has been gnawing at my legs because he can’t find himself doing much else. The last time we were in this ring together, I knocked his head clean off in a Steel Cage of all environments. I have to give him credit, he doesn’t know when to give up.. I’ll keep beating him and beating him until he learns that he has no chance in hell. It doesn’t take much inspecting to know what he is. In the world of Pete Dunne’s, you are always going to come up short, and in second place.
The crowd has a mixed reaction because both Sami and Dunne have sizable egos on their lonesome.
THE BRUISERWEIGHT’ Pete Dunne Sami Zayn’s don’t belong in the same breathing space as a person of my magnitude and raw ability to put someone in their place. There won’t be a single man or woman on this Earth that can stop me from turning everything around. It starts with you, you make excuses after excuse and you do it because it’s what keeps you safe. Or at least that’s what you think, because this is my real problem with you. You are needing a Breakthrough, for reality to crush you, and snap your fingers. It’s no secret that we don’t like each other, I could care less.. You’re a stepping stone to what I really want.
Pete glares at the Intercontinental Championship and keeps himself at a distance but there is still unfinished business from that four way. Nevertheless, still brothers and it’s all in the spirit of competition.
THE BRUISERWEIGHT’ Pete Dunne No disrespect to you.. Matty, of course. You and I both knew sooner or later it would come up. You are going to take those mugs for everything they've got tonight, this is not only your night. This is what we came together for, to be top of the list and no longer let those who run wild in these XWL streets to continue their reckless abandoned ways. I think if anyone should be purging, it will be the Undisputed Era, keeping and taking what's rightfully ours.
Matt nods, as do Fish, O'Reilly and Strong who aim to make this night theirs.
[Matt Sydal] Tonight I may be defending THIS in an Iron Man Match...but let's make one thing very clear. WE all five of us are The Iron sharpening this company to be better, to BRING us better. This era belongs to us, and if you have any doubts? Just watch what we do tonight. Prepare for your systems to be shocked, and your expectations shattered. Tonight is aptly called "Breakthrough" but the irony of this night is, it's not us that will "Breakthrough" to greener pastures and cement our futures. It is you that will have the BREAKTHROUGH of a lifetime when you come face to face with the facts that WE...are THE UNDISPUTED BEST SUPERSTARS IN THIS ENTIRE COMPANY!
With that emphatic statement, or more so a promise...Matt raises his Intercontinental Championship into the air, as Kyle O'Reilly, Bobby Fish, Pete Dunne, and Roderick Strong throw both of their hands into the air in full "U E" formation. They've said what they're going to do tonight, the question now remains...will they do it? The camera pans all five Superstars showing their determination before we fade out to an advertisement promoting Final Stand XI.

As we head to ringside, set for our next match, suddenly the silence is broken by the theme of the next Champion to have their reign defended tonight here on the first Pay-Per-View of 2019...The Women's Champion Natalya.
[Mauro Ranallo] Well this is rather unexpected, typically The Champion makes their entrance last.
[Renee Young] I had an opportunity to talk to Natalya earlier today and you know she's here tonight to conduct business. She is here to fight, and she is here to leave with her reign still in tact. So she wants Liv Morgan to see her in that ring when she comes out here, so that she is forced to see the exact challenge awaiting her.
[Corey Graves] An interesting detail to what is sure to be an already interesting match-up here tonight for The Women's Championship.
As Renee said, Natalya is here to get down to business, and as she makes her way out onto the stage she doesn't lollygag around, she's taking her unorthodox challenger very seriously because at this stage in her reign, there is no room for a single mistake. The Championship that is around her waist as she descends down the ramp is very important to her, it has remained with her all this time now, and while every Champion's reign eventually comes to an end, she does not see end in sight just yet.
[Renee Young] We all heard Natalya's New Year address earlier in the night, she isn't here to play games, she has not lost on Pay-Per-View in 14 months. When you factor in the types of encounters she has had in those 14 months? That is no easy feat.
[Mauro Ranallo] Absolutely, a Buried Alive Match at this very event last year, a 60 Minute Iron Woman Match against one of the most dominant Women to ever step foot in this company, a Woman she up till then had been unable to defeat. A Steel Cage Match where her career was on the line...an Elimination Chamber Match where no Champion had ever retained inside of it...a Hell in a Cell Match in The Main-Event of Final Stand...a Tag-Team Match where she could have easily lost without being pinned. A 2/3 Falls Match which she didn't even know she was going to be competing in prior to that night...she is battle tested and truly on the roll of her career thus far.
[Corey Graves] But just as she resolved one year ago to seize 2018 as hers...you have to ask, and for that matter believe Liv Morgan has vowed the same of 2019 when it comes to her own success.
[Renee Young] The New Year hype behind her, added with the expertise Sasha Banks has bestowed unto her heading into this night certainly paints Liv Morgan as perhaps one of Natalya's most dangerous challengers because she is so hard to prepare for.
The camera follows Natalya as she further descends down the ramp, removing the belt from around her waist and now raising it above her head as her own eyes can't help but stare up at it pridefully.
This is what kept her going in her darkest hours, this title represents all the nights where she didn't give up, the days where she struggled to get out of bed because of the mounting failures that left the question of whether or not she'd ever be able to take possession of it. To say it feels like a part of her would be an understatement, as she makes her way down to the ring the way she looks at The Women's Championship is not just prideful, it's grateful. Humbled to have it, honored to see her name etched onto it's plate. This is why she fights so hard each and every time she steps into that ring. To carry this feeling on for as long as humanly possible.
[Renee Young] Natalya called last year not a "resolution" but a revolution. The year where she would finally turn her career around, and without a doubt no one had a better 2018. But now that it is a New Year, how long can she keep this up?
[Corey Graves] We saw as April's reign extended to historic lengths her body began to break down as she felt pressured to push herself further and further beyond her limits. As Natalya approaches that very mark herself, I'm not sure if she can keep it up. But then again, as mentioned also she's thus far shattered the "impossible" and who is to truly say anything is impossible to her at this stage in her reign?
[Mauro Ranallo] I think for The Queen of Harts it's a matter of remembering that it took 2,945 days to begin this incredible reign...and I believe not a day goes by where as she feels herself maybe getting more banged up the very memory of that almost numbs her to the pain. There is no guarantee in Wrestling, this could be not only her first but only reign as Women's Champion.
[Renee Young] A great point, and if that is the case then The Juvenile Delinquent Liv Morgan has a tall order ahead of herself tonight.
Natalya lowers her title and tosses it over her shoulder, making her way around the ring, briefly touching the hands that were extended along the barricade before quickly popping up onto the apron and staring out into the audience in full support of her. She once more takes this opportunity to raise The Women's Title high above for all to see, smiling but also maintaining a certain seriousness about her. She's not just focused on the audience, she's staring into the camera as if she were looking into the eyes of her challenger and letting her know exactly that she means business tonight. Once she's done, she lowers her title, then steps into the ring, removing her entrance shoulder piece and wasting no further time. She simply takes her place in the center of the ring, displays The Women's Championship over her shoulder, and stares at the stage as she awaits her challenger.
[Mauro Ranallo] And speaking of the devil herself, here she comes! Hailing from New Jersey, the same home state as the currently longest reigning Women's Champion in history and one of Natalya's most formidable foes, Liv Morgan looks to capitalize on the New Year and reignition of her career in her first shot at the Women's Championship since the Elimination Chamber she and Natalya stepped foot in at the start of last year.
[Corey Graves] The pink-haired problem child of the hour is here!
[Renee Young] You know, since coming back to XWL after her injury and under the tutelage of Sasha Banks, Liv Morgan has become quite the trendsetter among the young girls in the XWL Universe. Because of Liv, little girls everywhere are tying their hair in pigtails and sporting blue tongues. Like her or not, she's really come into her own this last year and has become an entirely different threat to Natalya's throne than she was the last time these two faced off. As I touched on before, that to me is why Liv Morgan is going to be so difficult for Natalya to prepare for. She was always wildly unpredictable as is, but with this new attitude and vibe on top of what we've seen her do to Ronda Rousey as well as Natalya herself, I think the only one who can derail Liv Morgan would be our Women's Champion, Natalya.
[Corey Graves] As much as I respect and agree with your opinion Renee, I'm going to go out on a limb and say Natalya loses her Championship to Liv Morgan tonight. Natalya has gotten too comfortable at the top, and my money says tonight is the night that Liv Morgan, a completely renewed and transformed superstar with the arch nemesis of the champion whispering in her ear and pointing out all of her most crucial weaknesses, Liv is going into this match with the knowledge of a superstar who has been to hell and back with Natalya. She's younger, quicker, craftier, and my money says tonight's the night that she closes the deal and ends Natalya's Pay-Per-View streak.
Liv finally bursts out from behind the curtains, surely enough without the Boss by her side. She twirls around on the heels of her feet and plucks the suspenders from her shoulders as the camera zooms in on her face while she makes direct eye contact with the Champion who is calmly awaiting her in the ring. Liv has never looked more focused in her young career here in XWL as she licks her lips, practically chomping at the bit to get her hands on Natalya's title.
After holding that gaze a bit longer, Morgan smirks flicks her hair back over her shoulder before waltzing down the ramp with her hands clamped innocently behind her back. Instead of toying with and tormenting the crowd on her way down, this time Liv keeps her baby blue eyes fixated on the Women's Champion in the ring. As she makes it to the bottom of the ramp and pauses before charging the apron and slapping her hands on the mat. Liv perches her chin delicately over the back of her hand and bats her eyelashes at Natalya a few times.
[Renee Young] Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but I don't recall ever seeing Liv Morgan more focused than she appears to be right now. Liv is typically bouncing off the walls, wreaking havoc and causing chaos and laughing in the face of anyone who has the misfortune of getting in her way, but tonight? She seems to be laser focused on capturing that championship.
[Mauro Ranallo] That's very true Renee. The young and energetic Morgan seems abnormally poised tonight. It stands to reason that such behavior would be normal from a challenger during a championship match, but given what we know about Liv, one can only assume she's got the worst of intentions in mind.
[Corey Graves] Of course she does, she's from New Jersey, Mauro! That isn't news to anybody. Liv has made a name for herself here in XWL as the resident delinquent, which is nothing special where she's from but here in a civilized business like XWL, it sets her apart from the pack. Liv doesn't play dirty just to get what she wants, she plays dirty because it's fun. It's in her nature. She enjoys it, she even thrives off of it, and I'm betting tonight will be no different. "Peace treaty" or not, I don't buy for a second that Liv or her best pal Sasha have any intention to play by Natalya's rules tonight.
Liv rolls into the ring as the ref steps between she and Natalya to ensure both parties maintain a safe distance, for now. Liv finds her way up to her knees, sliding her blue tongue across her grinning white teeth as she looks across the way dead into Natalya's eyes. The Juvenile Delinquent then hops up to her feet and jumps through the middle and top rope, finding a comfortable seating position as she crosses her legs and sticks her bright blue tongue out for the cameras. After her smile dies out and her tongue retreats back inside of her mouth, Liv makes her way back to the center of the ring across from Natalya. Just before the lights go down for the introductions to begin, the referee pulls Liv aside into the corner.
[Mauro Ranallo] What's this?
The ref then explains that per request of Liv's BFFL, Sasha Banks, Liv be frisked and checked for any illegal weapons to validate this bout as a perfectly fair contest.
[Renee Young] It seems that Sasha Banks truly is gunning for a fair match tonight, even going as far as to request that her best friend be frisked before the match begins!
[Corey Graves] This is a waste of time! I could tell you right now she's probably got 4 shanks, 2 switch blades, some brass knuckles and probably 8 or 9 stolen credit cards on her!
Liv screams in protest, pushing the ref off of her at first in disbelief that Sasha would do this without telling her first. Natalya on the other hand seems to be eating it up, relaxing in the opposite corner with her title and enjoying the show. Liv continues to argue with the ref about the fact that she's the only one getting searched and how this is unfair, but after being threatened with the cancellation of the match, the Jersey Delinquent finally complies and follows suit with the pat-down. Once the referee finishes checking Liv's arms, legs, waistband, and- well, everywhere, Liv blows her tongue out at the man in a disgruntled manner of "told ya so!" Natalya finally steps forward and meets Liv near the center of the ring as the lights dim down and leave the two under a single spotlight.
[Jojo Offerman] The following match is set for one fall, and it is for the Women's Championship! Introducing first, the challenger, from Elmwood Park, New Jersey... LIV, MORGAN!
Liv flicks her hair back over her shoulder once again and begins to skip around her half of the ring, letting her blue tongue hang out once more as the audience showed her little to no support whatsoever. Instead, she skipped and celebrated to the sound of boos, which she seems to have become accustomed to since returning on the hip of possibly the most hated woman in XWL, Sasha Banks.
[Jojo Offerman] And her opponent, from Calgary, Alberta, Canada...
The crowd's roar began to build before the announcer could even finish Natalya's introduction, clearly a fan-favorite through and through for her incredible rise to greatness and constant display of integrity and passion for this business.
[Jojo Offerman] She is the Women's Champion, NATALYA!
The Queen of Harts throws up her title high with both hands, which is welcomed by an incredible pop from everyone in the building with the exception of the woman standing directly in front of her. Liv rolls her eyes and cleans her ear out with her index finger while Natalya gives her championship one more long gaze before handing it over the referee. The referee brings the championship over to the challenger and lets her get a look at the championship which she's competing. The referee then brings the championship to the center of the ring and hoists the championship up before passing it off to the a hand at ringside.
Both champion and challenger ready themselves in the ring, keeping their respective gazes perfectly locked onto one another. Both superstars are revved up and ready to take off at the first chime of the long-awaited bell, when just as the official raises his hand to call for the start of the match...
The theme of Drake Maverick causes everyone to stop. Maverick rushes out before the referee has a chance to ring the bell and let the match begin.
[DRAVE MAVERICK] Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Pardon the interruption, ladies, but I cannot let this match happen. Not under these circumstances at least.
The camera cuts to both Liv Morgan and Natalya who look equally confused.
[DRAVE MAVERICK] Allow me to explain. There will be a Woman's Championship match right here, right now, but on behalf of our General Manager, there's something I need to announce. You see, Liv Morgan, you are the number one contender. You are going to be getting your championship match. Liv Morgan, however, is not the only woman who qualified for this match given what I was told by our General Manager.
Drake Maverick pauses and it gives the fans a chance to react. It's a mixed reaction though. Some of them are excited because this would now be something more. A Triple Threat? A Fatal Four Way? There were the fans who didn't like the sound of this. It sounded fishy. Like this was someone's plan all along.
[DRAVE MAVERICK] There's another woman who wanted another chance at the XWL Woman's Championship. There's a woman who wanted to be added to this match to make it a triple threat match. JBL said no, unfortunately, but he is a fair man. JBL is a fair man despite what some of you like to think. He allowed this woman a chance. Just like he allowed Matt Sydal and so many others a chance to accomplish their dreams. He looked at this woman and said "you want another chance at the championship? Do you want another chance to beat Natalya? I tell you what: you need to earn it by pinning Natalya sometime between now and Breakthrough" and as we saw last week in tag team action, she did just that! Ladies and Gentleman, let me introduce to you the third competitor in this match!
Drake takes a step back, exits center stage, and points back towards the curtain.
If that last statement wasn't obvious enough, the theme song which began to play made it clear as day. Sasha Banks, arguably the greatest rival of Natalya, has somehow managed to get herself added into the match. These fans are certainly not at all happy at this addition to the match. The 'best friend' of Liv Morgan snaked her way into yet another title opportunity. You might as well consider this typical Sasha Banks since she can't seem to go a month without the spotlight being on her. The Boss steps out from behind the curtain and goes about her entrance per usual.
[Corey Graves] Mauro, do you see what I see?
[Mauro Ranallo] What are you talking about? Sasha Banks?
[Corey Graves] No! I'm talking about the knife in Liv Morgan's back!
[Renee Young] I wouldn't jump to conclusions. Maybe this was part of the plan.
[Corey Graves] Look at Liv! Does that look like someone who expected Sasha out here?
[Renee Young] I don't know! Maybe that's part of the plan? Act natural or something!
The Boss marches down the ramp with confidence in every step. Maybe a little more confidence than normal. Neither Liv nor Natalya were expecting a third competitor in this match. Neither prepared themselves for a triple threat. Could this finally be the Boss' time to capture the Woman's Championship?
[Jojo Offerman] And introducing the challenger, from Boston, Massachusetts... Sasha Banks!
Banks flashes a confident grin towards the woman in the ring as she's officially announced. The fans boo - nearly drowning at Jojo's voice from being heard through the microphone.
Once again, the camera cuts to the champion who points at Liv Morgan and shouts "I knew there was some kind of plan!" and Liv seemed rather conflicted with what Natalya was accusing her of. Almost like she didn't know what Natalya was talking about. Almost like Liv's so-called best friend had gone behind her back. That doesn't sound like something Sasha Banks would do. Not at all. Sasha Banks walks around to the side of the ring closest to the hard camera and climbs up onto the apron in signature fashion. Her 'Legit Boss' rings are flashed to the camera.
The Boss steps into the ring and raises her arms towards the crowd and they boo her. No surprise there. They weren't happy to see her but you can bet she was happy to see them. Sasha then turns and faces Natalya with a wide smile on her face.
As she begins to take off her rings and jacket, Sasha says something towards her former best friend. The camera picks up the words and it sounds like she says "I told you! It'd only be the people involved and uhh... you know how this works!" Sasha laughs and shakes her head as she hands her gear to one of the workers at ringside. The Boss then turns to Liv and flashes the fakest genuine grin to her. "We've got this, girl!" she says as she approaches Liv and raises her hand and waits for a high five. Liv, for the first time we've ever seen, hesitates before raising her hand to connect with Sasha's. By the look on her face, it seems like she's trying to convince herself that her best friend isn't doing what everyone, and now even Liv herself might think that she's doing. Liv flashes an unsure smile to her alleged BFF and nods her head, patting Sasha on the back as all three women get into position for the start of this suddenly altered bout.
Natalya remains completely starstruck after what she just witnessed. Sasha Banks managed to kick out not once, but twice! But Natalya is not one who can be easily thrown off, especially not when she's remained on the throne of this division for so long. She's had quite a few curve balls thrown at her over the last year, and this would be nothing more than that in her mind. What the Champion momentarily did not account for, however, was the pink-haired delinquent outside of the ring. As Natalya pulls herself up to her feet, Liv rolls under the bottom rope and blitzes the Champion, catching her with the Jersey Codebreaker! Natalya's face snaps back off of the knees of Liv Morgan as she remains laid out on the mat. Liv looks as if she herself can't even believe it. With a grin stretched from ear to ear, Liv quickly falls into the pin and hooks Natalya's leg for the count!
1...
2...!
BAM!
Liv's torso is completely knocked off of the Champion's downed body by her own supposed best friend, Sasha Banks!
[Corey Graves] I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT! Now can you open your eyes, Renee? Sasha Banks isn't in this to help Liv Morgan capture her first ever championship, Sasha Banks is in this for Sasha Banks!
[Renee Young] I'll admit that certainly wasn't what I expected to see from Sasha, but that's just how these things go, Corey. It's a match, for crying out loud! Sasha and Natalya have had history longer than Liv Morgan has even been in this company!
[Mauro Ranallo] As often as we've seen championships come between friendships, I think it's safe to say that none of us, ESPECIALLY young Liv Morgan expected to see this from Sasha Banks tonight.
[Corey Graves] "None of us?" ARE YOU KIDDING ME, MAURO?! I've been saying for as long as I've been at this commentary desk that Sasha Banks is only ever going to care about herself! Liv Morgan got played, and let's hope for her sake and the sake of her career that she realizes that and serves the Boss with some cold hard justice, Jersey style.
Sasha stands tall over the body of Natalya, looking down at her best friend, Liv Morgan. Liv's back is turned to Sasha as she sits up, heaving in frustration. There's no doubt she knows full-well what exactly just transpired. With her chest and shoulders rising and falling furiously, Liv slowly stands to her feet before turning around to face Sasha with a look that we never thought we'd see be exchanged between these two "partners." Some inaudible words are exchanged between the two as Liv slowly steps closer to Sasha, who stands her ground firmly over Natalya. The impression we get from their conversation is that Liv seems to be realizing that everyone was right about Sasha, while Sasha herself is naturally completely unapologetic for her actions, even if they were placed against the young up-and-comer who spent the better part of 2018 at her side. Liv looks Sasha over in disbelief before Sasha finally says something that sets the Juvenile Delinquent off. Liv takes a quick step to Sasha and sends her jolting back a few feet with a solid shove! "YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE MY FRIEND!" screams the Juvenile Delinquent. Sasha is now the one with the look of disbelief on her face, which is quickly replaced with one of pure rage as she retaliates with a shove of her own! "THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON LONG BEFORE YOU CAME AROUND, SWEETHEART." the Boss answers back, referring to her career-defining rivalry with the Queen of Harts, Natalya. Liv's head angles down as her blue eyes peer up through her mangled pink hair and burn holes through the face of the Boss as she heaves in and out. With her fists clutched so tightly her hands become red and her knuckles burn white, Liv finally pulls the trigger and hits her best friend with the same devilish right that costed Natala a match just a few short weeks ago! "I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR STUPID BEEF, THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT ME! THIS IS MY TIME!" Liv screeches out like a wild banshee. Sasha stumbles back and holds her jaw in her hand, rubbing it back and forth slowly as she sucks her teeth and nods, realizing how it's going to be. Liv goes to followup with her step-up enziguri, but Sasha catches her by the foot, leaving Liv hopping on one leg at the mercy of the Boss. "NOT SO FAST, BABY GIRL." Sasha replies with a grin on her face as Liv shakes her head back and forth in regret and panic, but there was no repairing the damage took place over the last minute of this match. Sasha catches Liv under the chin with a hard knee before grabbing her by the back of the neck and whipping her through the ropes, sending Liv spilling out onto the floor at ringside! "IT'S ALWAYS BOSS TIME WHEN I'M AROUND!" the Legit Boss shouts over the top rope to her fallen friend. With a smug grin on her face, Sasha admires her handiwork before turning around to finish the job in the ring.
But this entire exchange between jilted bffs allowed something very dangerous to happen...The Women's Champion shook off the damage done by Liv's Jersey Codebreaker, and is back on her feet, and beyond that...she was stalking The Boss just waiting for her to turn around...and the moment Sasha realizes it it's already too late. The Queen of Harts scoops her long time rival off of her feet, tripping her up and putting in a position she unfortunately knows all too well. She's on her back, her feet are in the air, and The Anvilette is stepping through, intertwining her leg within Sasha's. As if she were having PTSD of the last time they fought for the title back at Final Stand last year, Sasha lets out a panicked scream, "NO!! I WON'T LET IT END THIS WAY, NOT AGAIN!" But as she wiggles and tries to swipe at The Champion all her efforts prove futile. She's overpowered and turned over onto her stomach, her nails digging into the mat clawing as she's dragged away from the ropes and into the center of the ring where the audience is on their feet roaring with elation over this plan from The Boss royally backfiring. She's now locked in the dreaded Sharpshooter, but rather than wasting valuable time that Liv could use to recover and save this match...Natalya goes right for the kill, bridging backward over the contorted body of Sasha Banks, locking in the very bridged sharpshooter that sealed the deal in their last encounter. She's left with no choice but to tap out just seconds later, angrily pounding the mat until Natalya releases the hold, and the bell sounds yet another successful defense for The Women's Champion
[Mauro Ranallo] New Year, same unstoppable Natalya!
[Renee Young] That bridged sharpshooter is no joke, there's no shame in tapping out to truly a tortuous hold like that.
[Corey Graves] But there is shame in doing it in the match you forced your way in at the last minute. She just robbed Liv Morgan of her opportunity to become Champion tonight by striking up a deal with The General Manager to get herself inserted into it.
Fans remain on their feet screaming with happiness over the Hart & Soul of this division once again reigning victorious securing her hold over the title we all know how hard she worked to attain in the first place. She rolls onto her hands and knees, clearly emotional and happy to hear her music playing. It's happened 7 times now, but somehow it feels like it's the first time all over again every time she's successfully able to prove that she still belongs at the top as our Women's Champion. 2018 was the year of Natalya, and 2019 is certainly starting off to be another great year. The referee helps Natalya up to her feet, presenting her with The Women's Title and she looks at it with a gleam in her eye, wiping away a stray tear of joy before taking it into her hand and having her arm raised to commemorate her victory.
[Renee Young] You just feel this warm fuzzy feeling inside when you see how happy she is in a moment like this. You know that title means the world to Natalya.
[Mauro Ranallo] The title and everything it stands for, everything Natalya has upheld it to mean throughout this time. That is the beauty of this reign, you feel the emotion each and every night she walks out here with that title around her waist.
[Corey Graves] I mean as much as I used to be one of her biggest critics you're insane if you think she's not one of the great Champions in this division's history. Her first defense was The Champion killer known as The Elimination Chamber, and after surviving that, she blocked Carmella's attempt at cashing in. That is the moment I, and the moment all of us should have seen as a warning of how difficult of a challenge she will be to anyone that hopes to one day hold the honor that is The Women's Championship.
[Renee Young] I do feel somewhat bad for Liv Morgan though...just look at her, she's absolutely frazzled by what happened. Her best friend that all month was hyping her up, and putting up this front steals her victory over Natalya on last week's Anarchy, which we now know was because JBL told her if she beat Natalya she'd be added to the title match...and worst of all, her best friend lost this match for her.
[Mauro Ranallo] A bitter pill to swallow that's for sure.
The cameras cut over to Liv Morgan dejectedly sitting against the barricade with her head in her lap, shaking her head in disbelief at how the night played out. This was supposed to be her time in the spotlight, and in true Sasha fashion...she was shoved out of that light and into the shadows where she now sits having lost without being the one pinned. Natalya doesn't focus on her though, there's a time and place for any sympathy she may or may not feel and that time is not now. This is the time to revel in her victory, to raise the title above her head as she mounts the corner and screams out in joy that she is The Women's Champion.
[Mauro Ranallo] The question remains, who will be the one to bring an end to this heartwarming story?
[Renee Young] There is no shortage of talent in the division that's for sure. Any Woman in that locker room would love the opportunity to bring this streak to an end.
[Corey Graves] I'm sure everyone would, but the question is...who actually CAN?
Natalya's left the ring now, slapping the hands of the fans, hugging several of them as she makes her rounds along the barricade until at last she's at the ramp. She then turns back around to face the ring, and her fallen challengers where she raises her Championship into the air with both hands to another tremendous uproar of cheers.
Sasha remains on the mat, she hasn't moved since tapping out, Liv peers up from the shielded view of her knees and sees Natalya celebrating, wishing it was her...knowing that if Sasha hadn't of involved herself, that very well could be her. The final sight is our triumphant Champion turning back toward the stage where she begins interacting with the very fans that gave her the support necessary to even be where she is to begin with. This moment as always is not just hers, but theirs for believing she one day could be on an incredible roll such as this.

“Yes!” chants fill the air in unison with every kick that has connected thus far to Tyler Breeze's exposed chest, each kick proving to be a shot of adrenaline for our Goat Faced Hero. With the final kick nearing its eleventh hour entry into this match, Bryan takes a few steps back to windup for the final act of Breeze's fashion show debut on Pay-Per-View. The live audience in attendance's energy reaching its crescendo when Bryan charges forward to deliver the kick that will put him one step closer to victory, but unfortunately for him, Breeze has other plans. Ducking under the horizontal arc of Bryan's kick, Breeze takes full advantage of the momentum that causes Bryan to do an unintentional one eighty, giving him the opening he needs to roll up the man known formally as The American Dragon. The referee drops down to the canvas to make the count.
1...
Breeze, knowing that it's going to take more than a simple roll up to defeat Daniel Bryan, takes it upon himself to give himself an advantage by throwing his feet onto the middle rope.
2...
Due to the referee's position, he doesn't see the dastardly deed being performed by XWL's resident Gorgeous Superstar.
3!
The referee's hand meets the canvas for a third consecutive time, signaling for both the bell to be rung and the end to this heated contest. The self proclaimed “King of Cuteville” quickly rolls out of the ring the second his theme begins to play, marking his victory, to avoid the wrath of the man he just screwed out of a victory. Breeze makes his way around the ringside area until he reaches the ramp, one arm on his battle scarred chest and the other raised up into the air in victory as Bryan is in the center of the ring on his knees, trying to process what just happened.
The realization sets in, he was just defeated in his return match and not just that, but on Pay-Per-View no less. His grand return resulting in nothing more than a loss, despite the way it happened, a loss is infact still a loss. Has doubt begun to creep into his mind, that perhaps he is no longer in his prime and his best years are behind him? The expression on his face sure makes the situation to feel that way. The live audience in attendance, doing their best to reaffirm what is already known, starts a “Daniel Bryan” chant in an attempt to convince Bryan that one loss doesn't define your career but it seems to fall on deaf ears when Bryan rolls out under the bottom rope and begins making his way up the ramp, his head hanging in defeat before he ultimately fades into the backstage area.

The arena explodes, and fans rise to their feet as Eli Drake walks out onto the stage. He smiles as he stops at the top of the ramp. He looks around at the crowd nodding his head showing his pure confidence.
[Corey Graves] There he is ladies, and gentlemen Eli Drake! The Elite Superstar of XWL!
[Mauro Ranallo] Tonight I feel like the arena is 50/50. Who does this crowd love more? Eli Drake or Matt Sydal!
Eli begins his walk down the ramp, and show his affection to the XWL Universe as he is reaching out high fiving all the fans as he is walking the ramp. He now stands in front of the ring, and quickly gets into the ring. He takes his place in his corner awaiting for his opponents.
The arena is then plunged into darkness.
The music begins, showcasing a couple of people far stage left. They begin to walk with the beat of the piano, falling as the bass hits to a bowing position. In doing so, another figure is hilighted. That being one in a throne, he sits, weilding a septor and a crown. More people begin to file in, bowing to his feet as the beat continues. They all bow to him, but leave the space directly in front of him open. The music slowly begins to die out as a spotlight falls on the figure. Drew McIntyre stands from his throne, holding the septor up to reveal it's golden metallic shade. He looks from left to right and then snaps it over his knee. As soon as he drops it to the ground, another is brought to him. This one being of silver shade- no, Titanium shade.
He stands for a moment as his subjects begin to take off his crown, remove his septor and leave only the man and trench coat he bears behind. He stands atop the stage for a moment before taking his first steps down the ramp, slowly strolling, eyeing up the crowd. Soon, his eyes set on the ring, a smirk rolling across his face. Tonight, is going to be his night as far as he's concerned.
[Corey Graves] Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present the Titanium Tyrant of Ayr!
[Mauro Ranallo] So much for not being one for antics and show!
[Renee Young] He's just living up to the hype he's set for himself. Though I may not agree, this does send a strong message to the "Golden" Matt Sydal tonight!
Drew McIntyre strolls down the ramp, making it to the ring in little to no time. He makes a full lap around it, eyes glued to the inside, only moving to those around the arena when he deems it necessary. He then climbs the steps, entering the ring and crossing it. As he makes it to the opposite corner from which he entered, he mounts the turnbuckle, throwing back his hair and hitting his signature taunt. He then looks around, the smile gone. Play time, officially over.
As both challengers are ready and waiting in the ring for The Intercontinental Champion to make his entrance, suddenly all the lights out of in the arena prompting a rush of excitement and cheers from the fans that knew what came next...but, within seconds instead of some lighting or props appearing on the stage like in true Matt Sydal fashion...the titantron instead lights up, and what we see is rather, unexpected? We're not in some spooky campfire scene, or an aquatic underwater cave...we're...in someone's closet? It's a very nice closet, but we're a tad confused as to why we're looking at someone's closet.
As our confusion began to grow, we hear the sound of footsteps in the distance, steps that become more prominent as they get closer, until at last we see...none other than Matt Sydal himself. But, he's not wearing any gear, or anything gold, it's as if we've been invited to his daily routine of getting ready for the day. He's wearing your typical white undershirt, we find out he's a boxers not a brief guy, and given it is Winter time he's sporting some longer socks. It's as if he's just come out of the shower and is browsing his closet to decide what he's going to wear today. He doesn't address the camera, walking right by it to a drawer that he pulls out, and inside of it is some of his older gear. Gear before he became "The Golden One." He quickly shakes his head, closing it back up before turning to the next drawer and opening that one. This drawer houses his best golden attires, appropriate given his recent return to his gold wonder. But as he fiddles around with his options, he shakes his head again, unsatisfied by his options.
He shuts that drawer too, and then his eyes turn to the back wall of the closet, which we notice there's a safe in the center of it, just your average safe to protect your most prized possessions, but as he begins to walk toward it we begin to wonder...is he really the type that hides his best "attires" in a safe? Isn't that a little much? But then we remember, this is Matt Sydal, he's more than a "little much" he is one of the most over the top individuals...but he's earned the right to be. At one time we would roll our eyes at his brash nature...but in time we've come to love that trait about him. He is un-apologetically himself, he says what he means, and he does what he says. Once he's reached the back wall, he goes right for the safe, our cameras pan in closer as he punches in the secret password. "197" Of course his password is the number of days of his record as The Longest Reigning World Heavyweight Champion in XWL history...should we really be surprised?
But as he punches in his 3 digit code, each key begins to light up gold, again...did we really expect anything less? The keys flash for several seconds before his hand grabs the handle and turns it downward, but the safe doesn't open. Did he forget his own password as he's secretly being recorded? That's embarrassing. But he doesn't seem thrown off by it not opening, instead his freehand gravitates to the shelf under the safe which had a nice pair of black dress shoes on display. He casually swipes them aside, and SURPRISE....there's something under them a black that that normally might be seen as a prop to support the shoes...but as he presses his hand onto it, and a gold aura surrounds his hand, we realize it's a secret hand print scanner.
"Welcome, Golden Avenger"
A digital voice echoes as he now pulls on the safe, and we find out that this isn't all to open up a safe, but instead a SECRET DOOR! The center panel of the back wall pulls outward, and a golden light beams from behind what once seemed like your average closet safe. He promptly steps inside, and our cameras hastily follow him as the door begins to close behind him on it's own. The cameraman sprints into the opening just in time as it closes shut, the camera turning around to show the now closed wall, well...he's committed at this point, there's no going back now. The camera turns back around and Matt's gone. "OH COME ON!" he shouts, it echoes down the long hall, and his hand seems to make a smacking sound as if he quickly covered his mouth, not wanting to give away his location, because as we're establishing XWL cameramen have secret predator technology that renders them invisible to everyone, this is now canon.
Worried he's going to miss what comes next he picks up his pace, running down the stretched hall, but the feed cuts away from his journey into the depths of Matt Sydal's secret tunnel behind his closet...and to the next shot which is rather different because instead of it coming from afar, as if we're watching someone, this new view is as if we are the camera, as if the source of this video is coming from Matt Sydal himself as he enters into a rather technologically advanced room, that is literally just made entirely of gold. Like it's as if someone saw the most high-tech lab and were like "no this isn't expensive enough coat everything in gold." He steps up onto a center podium, and extends his hand outward, prompting the computers to begin scanning him. A gold light beams down over him, and from the light statistics used to determine his identity appear in the shroud of light.

As the scan finishes, the light disappears, and a voice over the computer echoes.
"Analysis complete, Golden Ticket detected, phase two initiating."
Mechanisms begin to trigger, shifting at his feet as the podium starts to open up in sections, and fragments of some sort of red and gold metal shoot up around his legs, compressing around them as if he were being suited in some type of battle armor. He swings both of his arms with open palms out in T formation, and new sections of the pad on both the left and right side open up and red mixed with gold metal thrust up to his arms, perfectly concealing them now as it extends to his hands wrapping them as well, but in the center of his palms a circular gold light beams from them. He clenches his fists feeling the "power" of the suit. As more metal shoots up from in front of him, he turns his head and we see metal behind him rising up as well, coming together around his back and his chest to perfectly suit him up now from the chest down. We notice another interesting detail of this armor he's wearing, on the center of the chest is another circular light of sorts casting the same gold light that's coming from his hands. He tilts his head up staring into the air, and lowering from the ceiling is a mask of sorts, one we recognize all too well. As it drops down into his hands, he stares at it for a moment.
"I've been referred to as a lot of things throughout my career. A kid that thinks he's bigger than he is...because damn anyone that dares to believe they are, right? I've been called arrogant, a prick...an asshole that will never amount to anything. And even when I began to prove those claims to be false...still, it wasn't enough to stop people from ignoring what I was doing and focusing on their perception of me. "He'll never be World Champion." Said by not only the people who chose not to support me, but the very management that saw me as nothing more than a guy that could do a couple flips here and there. But to me, I've always been more. I MADE them call me World Champion, DOUBLE Champion, RECORD SETTING CHAMPION!"
You feel the emotion in his tone as his hands firmly clutch the mask within them.
I have always known who I was, and the names that were thrown my way, were merely a piece of who I was, not my true identity. I've been the iron that has sharpened this company in it's darkest hours, that has tested "future" Champions to show them what it truly takes to be A CHAMPION! I have been on the grind since day one, and even injuries haven't been able to keep me down. I found a way to harness what would become "The Golden One" and shatter EVERY SINGLE EXPECTATION THAT WAS EVER PUT ON ME! I hopped into this very event 2 years ago against a BEAST....and a BITCH. A Champion that saw me as the threat I was, and tried to take me out of contention, but as we saw, he failed to destroy THIS!
Matt's armor covered hand intensely pats the golden circle on his chest, perhaps symbolizing that this is the core of The Golden One.
I was, I AM The Golden One...but the funny thing about time, is that as it goes by, as new challenges come your way...as you're stripped of what you viewed your identity as...you see what you've always been beneath all the monikers and the nicknames. Yes, you may be The Man Of Gold ONCE AGAIN...but you feel something you didn't feel before, something that puts everything into perspective, something that finally shows you who you really are. Nothing can stop me, nothing is too much of a challenge, no feat is unattainable, and when the going gets tough...I BREAKTHROUGH MORE DANGEROUS THAN EVER! There's something powerful in knowing who you are, and the truth is...I am Iron Man.
He slips the mask over his face, and an objective flashes on the screen in his eyes. "Defend The Intercontinental Championship." The screen pans out, revealing the titantron once more as the arena is buzzing with excitement, screaming at the top of their lungs over this very appropriate introduction of The Intercontinental Champion, and with that...the screen goes black, and what comes next, only furthers their immense excitement.
[Corey Graves] You have got to be kidding me. Black Sabbath?
[Mauro Ranallo] Talk about getting into character.
[Renee Young] Are we about to see Matt Sydal come out here in full Iron Man armor? Because I am so on board for that.
[Corey Graves] HAS HE LOST HIS MIND?
[Renee Young] CAN HE SEE OR IS HE BLIND!
[Corey Graves] NO! DON'T ENCOURAGE HIM!
The lights return to the arena, but instead of them being gold as typically they would in this situation...they're a mix of red which is the dominant color, and gold. Smoke fills the stage, as gold pyrotechnics rain down onto the stage.
Fans are rocking out to his theme of choice this evening, it's not his usual infectious tune, but everyone knows Iron Man by Black Sabbath, so they're hyped nonetheless. You see Drew McIntyre impatiently pacing in the ring, he shouts out "COME ON ALREADY!" while Eli just patiently rests in the corner, he expected an over the top entrance, and well...mission accomplished. As the focus shifts back to the stage we notice a shadow behind the shower of pyrotechnics, a figure that gets closer with each passing second, until it's exactly what you could expect to see. Iron Man, literally Iron Man standing there with The XWL Intercontinental Championship wrapped around his waist. There is something none of us ever expected to see on XWL programming, but our eyes are not deceiving us, this is really happening.
[Renee Young] My first time being ringside for a Matt Sydal match, and he comes out here as freaking Iron Man...wow. What more can you even say?
[Corey Graves] How about this is stupid? He's taking his upcoming title defense so lightly that he went out and bought an Iron Man costume just to put across how easy this will be?
[Mauro Ranallo] I'd argue the opposite, Corey. He calls himself The Iron Man of XWL, a name that prompted JBL to try and use that against him by making him defend in the first ever 60 Minute Iron Man Match to be contested under Triple Threat Rules. What he has done is embrace that a hundred times over, in his effort to show that he's ready for a fight.
[Renee Young] I mean let's just call this match what it is...JBL is trying to repeat his success against the former Intercontinental Champion Eli Drake. He took his "ELI" deal and said haha you also can't spell ELIminate without Eli so that's what type of match you'll be defending your title in. It worked, unfortunately...and so now he's hoping the same fate will befall the current Champion.
With purpose "Iron Man" steps through the falling pyrotechnics, then extends both of his palms outward as a gold light beams from both of his hands. Next both hands lower to his waist, unsnapping The Intercontinental Championship and proudly, we assume...cause we can't really see his face, but his stance seems prideful. He proudly raises The Intercontinental Title into the air, as his hands act as a beacon lighting up the title in a gold light. Fans are still over the moon at this entrance cheering and screaming as "Iron Man" struts down the ramp allowing both of his challengers to feast their eyes on what he hopes to still call his when the 60 minutes on the clock have hit 0.
[Corey Graves] As confident as he looks in this ridiculous getup? We need to bring forth one important falsehood with this entire display. He's walking into a Triple Threat 60 Minute Iron Man Match where his Intercontinental Championship in his first defense of this reign, will be on the line. Do either of you want to point out the blaring issue he's previously had when it comes to The Intercontinental Title?
[Renee Young] Um, I'm not entirely sure I know that.
[Mauro Ranallo] That it's been a long time since he last held it?
[Corey Graves] Oh no, it's worse. He has NEVER successfully, defended The Intercontinental Championship. He's been able to retain every other title, but when it comes to this title? He can win it, but he can't defend it.
[Renee Young] I mean yes that is an issue previously but it is a New Year, Corey. Maybe his resolution is to do what he's been unable to do previously?
[Mauro Ranallo] We certainly know he's capable of defending a title after all.
[Corey Graves] I'm just saying if I had that blemish on my pristine record and my first defense was a Triple Threat, when his previous defenses were all one on one? I'd take this a lot more seriously. I would have ditched the theatrics, walked out here and had my game face on.
At last he reaches the bottom of the ramp, and eyes his two challengers. He lowers the title back down, then brings it even further down to the floor, sitting it at his feet. He remains there towering over the title, giving his opponents a nice long look at it before grabbing at his left arm, firmly clutching it...and with sheer ease, rips away the protective armor from around his entire left arm. Exposing a red and gold band around his shoulder underneath it, and red and gold wrist gauntlet of sorts. His now freely exposed hand then repeats the same with the right arm, ripping away the armor from the entire arm, exposing as always his Undisputed Era armband on his shoulder, and a similar gauntlet on his wrist. His hands both grasp at his legs, and just as easily he pulls away the armor from both legs, exposing a red pair of tights with gold detailing that has gone even beyond his normal gear and has several touches inspired by the armor he was just wearing. His kick pads follow a similar pattern, looking like the gear Iron Man himself might wear if he were a wrestler. Quickly he pulls away his protective chest plate, and with that the back plate falls to the floor into the pile of what was once a pretty accurate Iron Man costume at his feet. Both of his hands grip the mask that covered his face, and slowly he pulls it down, tossing it into the heap of his costume, and his gaze is intense. He isn't arrogantly smiling like "look what I did aren't I a badass." No, he has his game face on, his TRUE armor on. And he's ready to head into battle.
[Renee Young] Wow, something about ripping away his armor feels really, almost symbolic of something doesn't it?
[Mauro Ranallo] We heard him say that beneath all the monikers or names he was given, at his core...he is the Iron that has sharpened this company from the get go...and I think he's saying that he doesn't need a fancy getup to win this battle, because armor or not? He's the same man regardless.
[Corey Graves] SO WHY COME OUT HERE IN IT IN THE FIRST PLACE?
[Renee Young] Symbolism, Corey. He's sending a message to his challengers, and anyone that doubts his chances tonight, which includes you and our General Manager.
[Mauro Ranallo] He is The Iron Man Of XWL, no costume required. We've seen his success in the past couple of months that have really proven this new moniker true. Defeating Roman Reigns in an Iron Man Match. Then defeating Sami Zayn in a 60 Minute Iron Man at The Slammy Awards. Tonight is his wheel house, and he's here to prove himself to be the sharpest.
While maintaining his strong eye contact with Drew McIntyre and Eli Drake, Matt bends down to retrieve his title, throwing it over his shoulder, and sprints onto the apron, standing there for a moment as he once again eyes his competition. After a couple tense seconds, he steps into the ring, and shoves his title into the referee's chest as if to say..."Ring the damn bell."
[Corey Graves] If you ask me he should've given that title a kiss while he still could.
[Mauro Ranallo] That is the look of a man that has no intention of not being handed it back when time runs out.
[Renee Young] Absolutely, but with The Titanium Tyrant of Ayr, and The Elite Superstar all vying for his title? It's hard to truly lean in one specific direction. Once that timer starts, all bets are off. Only the best will be able to leave that ring with The Intercontinental Championship.
[Mauro Ranallo] Talk about an incredible match, and...Corey, an incredible TITLE DEFENSE for Matt Sydal!
[Corey Graves] I can't believe it...but with 3 falls, and neither challenger being able to keep him down for a 3 count, he's just proven...as absurd of a name it is...he is indeed, Iron Man.
[Renee Young] When you come out here dressed as Iron Man, you better win or else you'll be the laughing stock of the locker room. But it is Matt who will have the last laugh now, scoring 2 falls over The Titanium Tyrant Of Ayr and a fall over the man he originally took The Intercontinental Championship from.
Once again Black Sabbath echoes through the arena as Matt confidently struts to the center of the ring, paying no further attention to his challengers who stand there overwhelmed with their own emotion over the outcome. Drew pounds his fist into the turnbuckle before storming out, upset at himself for being pinned by The Champion twice. While Eli just looks disappointed, he had previously been pinned by Matt two times, once non-title before his big defense, then when Matt took his title...and to fall victim to another three count in his rematch clause is certainly a bitter pill to swallow. But he makes a quick exit as well, leaving Matt to be presented with The Intercontinental Championship he has finally been successful at defending. The official raises his arms as the fans cheer and even begin a mild "IRON MAN!" chant.
[Mauro Ranallo] I'm sure The General Manager is absolutely stewing right now, his plan backfiring majorly.
[Corey Graves] That's a bit much, he's probably off preparing plans for Final Stand, I highly doubt he was eagerly watching in his office salivating at the idea of Matt losing his title.
[Renee Young] Really? Because that totally sounds like something he would do. Like, I can imagine he's already called in several interns to yell at them about something completely random in order to unleash his rage. Matt Sydal has been a thorn in his side, and you know without a shadow of a doubt that Matt is going to rub this victory in his face the first chance he gets.
[Corey Graves] I mean he's gotta remember JBL is still his boss, he can make him defend that title anytime. If I were Matt I'd try my best to steer clear of JBL.
[Mauro Ranallo] Anyways, a huge victory for Matt Sydal tonight, you've gotta believe this feels good.
[Renee Young] Absolutely, a well deserved congratulations. Hashtag ANDSTILL!
[Corey Graves] But for how long?
The celebration is on for Matt Sydal who leaps up onto the second rope and raises his title proudly into the air as the "Iron Man!" chants continue to echo through the building. 2019 is off to one hell of a start, and with the grandest stage of them all serving as our next stop next time on Pay-Per-View? He seems poised and ready for whatever challenge may be on the horizon next. He continues showing off his prized Championship as the cameras fade out and we head to recap of the last episode of Anarchy when Andrade Cien Almas captured The World Television Championship from Jeff Hardy.

- . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . -
What a situation we find ourselves in. Kairi Sane, recently ejected from the ring, and Ruby's eyes begin to peer over to the fallen Bliss Stick on the mat as Alexa clutches at her left following the vicious chop block that's rendered her limb in serious trouble. She tries to pulls herself to the corner, crawling unaware of the sinister intentions on the mind of the woman that's taken such a sick satisfaction in her misery ever since Roulette.
[Mauro Ranallo] Alexa's helpless right now.
[Corey Graves] She felt awful powerful swinging that Bliss Stick into Ruby dozen upon dozens of times throughout this match, but now Ruby has taken possession of it...and god only knows what she's got in mind.
[Renee Young] I shudder to even think of what dark deeds may have entered into her brain.
Alexa manages to pull herself up into the corner, turning around to a sight that immediately instills fear within her, Ruby smirking as her hand glides across The Bliss Stick. Her fear of Ruby Riott, her weeks of anger and hatred, all coming together in this moment as Riott has her right where she needs her.
The theme hits and the crowd jump to their feet. Cheering for once for the monster of the women's division as Nia Jax comes charging from the back. Her face that of determination, eyes locked onto the ring. Ruby Riott, for the first time, has a glimmer of fear in her own eyes as a wicked smile sprawls across the face of Alexa Bliss.
[Renee Young] Bestie to the rescue!
[Corey Graves] Oh come on, Ruby's already been relegated to a glorified handicap match, now THIS?
[Mauro Ranallo] Ruby's trauma to her best friend has strained their friendship as of late, but the thing about a true friendship is that in your hour of need despite whatever arguments you may have had at the time, they will be there through and through. And that is what is what makes the bond between The Irre-Blisstible Force so powerful.
Jax makes her way down the ramp, hopping up onto the apron and entering the ring. As she does so Ruby gets in a ready stance, as though going to swing on Nia. Before she can, Jax steps to her, surprising Ruby just for the moment as Jax reaches out and snatches the stick out of Riott's hands. Riott takes a step back, Nia following her with each step she takes. Riott is almost pleading with Jax at this point as Nia looks to the stick in her hands. Alexa can be seen, moving out of her corner finally, smile widely across her face as her Best Friend stands, protecting her. Finally, the two have come back together.
[Corey Graves] How is this fair?
[Mauro Ranallo] There's no disqualifications in a triple threat match.
[Renee Young] That, and let's not forget everything Ruby has subjected Alexa to the past month. Emotional, physical, mental anguish that went well beyond the line the second she shoved her fingers into Alexa's mouth. She is a horrid human being and honestly? She deserves what's about to happen, it couldn't happen to a better person.
WHACK!!!
The sound echoes throughout the arena as the world seems to go silent for a moment. The stick is bent in half now, having been swung full force right into the skull of it's target. Nia Jax stands, almost shaking as Bliss crashes to the mat, as though taking a bullet. She's spread eagle, almost graceful as she hits the mat and bounces. The audience is on their feet, jaws hung open, you swear you can even hear someone audibly go "What the fuck?" as Alexa is struck down by...her best friend?
[Renee Young] I'm sorry, what the hell just happened?
[Mauro Ranallo] I...I have no earthly idea.
Ruby can't believe her eyes but doesn't miss the chance to crawl on top of Alexa. Staring up at Nia cautiously as the referee regretfully counts a clear three count, and Ruby Riott has beaten Alexa Bliss.
[Corey Graves] It's not conventional, but nothing about Ruby Riott is. She once again gets one over on Alexa Bliss, not only defeating her...but destroying the once solid friendship of The Irre-Blisstible Force.
[Renee Young] I just...I don't understand. Why would Nia do that? Why would she just stand there as RUBY, THE WOMAN RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THEIR RECENT CONFLICT PINS HER BEST FRIEND!?
[Mauro Ranallo] I wish I had an answer for you, Renee...but I'm as flabbergasted as you.
[Corey Graves] Let this be a lesson to everyone, don't neglect your friends when you suddenly become friends with your enemy.
[Renee Young] I'm sorry as the person that WITNESSED what Ruby did to Alexa? I am not going to sit here and let this narrative that Alexa was a bad friend pick up even ONE leg. She had her darkest period in her life thrown into the spotlight, haunting memories flood back through her, and yes she's been in a different mindset lately because of it...yes, she's been kinder to Kairi, because when Ruby tried to strike again, Kairi has been there to help her. So no, this isn't on Alexa. This is all Nia, Alexa did nothing to deserve this, she didn't deserve what happened at Roulette...and she doesn't deserve what just happened right now. Ugh, I just...
Ruby doesn't stick around to test her luck with the situation that's still unfolding and instead leaves the ring very quickly celebrating her way up the ramp leaving Nia standing over the body of her "Best Friend." Jax's face can be seen contorting with emotion as tears begin to run down her face, eyes glued to Alexa who has a small trickle of blood running down her forehead. The force of the stick was so brutal that it not only knocked Alexa out, but also broke the Bliss Stick into an L-shape. Nia just stares at Alexa as her tears begin to build, rolling down her cheeks.
[Corey Graves] Clearly it wasn't easy for Nia to do this.
[Renee Young] What we're not going to do is have ANY sympathy for Nia right now. She's crying? GOOD! Her best friend is lying at her feet, BLEEDING...because of what she did. It wasn't an accident, it wasn't in the heat of the moment...she came out here with the intention of doing what she did, and I am just disgusted with this entire situation. This was The Woman that immediately took her under her wing and helped her break out of her reserved nature. Before Alexa's influence Nia wasn't comfortable being out here, speaking publicly or at all...Nia forgets how much Alexa was there for her in the beginning. Just because she's been focusing more on herself lately doesn't mean Alexa suddenly stopped liking her.
[Mauro Ranallo] This is just a horrible situation for everyone involved...Nia for whatever reason did this...and it doesn't look like she's able to live with the decision based on her out of control emotions since doing so.
[Renee Young] You don't wanna feel bad for betraying your best friend? Here's a handy tip to avoid that, DON'T BETRAY YOUR BEST FRIEND!
[Corey Graves] I mean it's possibly more complicated than that.
[Renee Young] It's really not, I've managed to go my entire life without betraying my best friend, because no matter whatever you go through? They are supposed to be there for you no matter what, and if they're going through something? If they've just had their secret shame exposed to the entire world and someone is using that to cause her unimaginable pain? You stick by them and understand this isn't about you, if you truly care about that person you give them as much time as they need to feel better, you don't pile on betrayal to whatever already has their world in shambles.
While The Irresistible Force deals with her emotional struggles, on the far side of the ring, Kairi's head slowly rises past the canvas, struggling to make it back to her feet as she uses the steel ring steps as a proverbial crutch to assist her. When she makes it far enough up, she reaches for the bottom rope, slowly and carefully forcing herself into the ring, stopping herself as she stops the sight of horror before her: Her unlikely best friend motionless on the canvas, her weapon of choice in the Bliss Stick or its now broken version laying besides her and her former bestie towering above her, the clear cut culprit of the scene before her.
From Kairi's vantage point, she can't see the emotional mess Nia has become after her, in her mind, justified actions here tonight. Sane continues her journey to enter the ring, slowly crawling under the bottom rope and into the ring, the look on her face reading only one word: Vengeance. In an attempt to undo the wrong she sees before her, Kairi prematurely begins shouting at Nia in her native language of Japanese, receiving the attention of the larger woman who slowly turns her attention to the Pirate Princess, her tears turning to rage as the woman she believes in responsible for the friendship between her and Alexa dissolving lies mere feet from her.
[Corey Graves] Alexa's new best friend is about to fight Alexa's old best friend.
[Renee Young] Another thing, who said you can only have one best friend? And beyond that, Alexa hasn't even used that word to describe Kairi. This is all Nia thinking she was replaced, which...let's not forget when Alexa was being chased by Ruby Riott nearly a month ago at ringside, Nia felt it was more logical, to instead of saving her best friend, to leg drop Kairi Sane THREE times to get a pin fall BEFORE saving Alexa.
Without hesitation, Nia charges forward, not even allowing Kairi to attempt making it to her feet, dropping her leg across the back of Sane's neck, much like she's done in the weeks prior to this contest, stopping her in her tracks.
Nia doesn't stop there, with all the pain, all the anger, all the hate she's feeling fueling her, she quickly rises back to her feet and drops a second leg drop across the back of Kairi's head. She gets up a second time, dragging Sane's body towards the center of the ring much to the displeasure of the crowd. While it's not against the rules of a triple threat match, she had no business being out here and yet here she is, dismantling two thirds of the match that ended what feels like an eternity ago at this point. Nia runs too the ropes, ricocheting off of them with unheard of momentum, using that fully to her advantage as she completes the trifecta by dropping a third and seemingly final leg drop to put an exclamation point of her assault.
[Corey Graves] Nia unleashing more of her emotional turmoil, this time on the person she believes caused all of this.
[Mauro Ranallo] When in all actuality, that person is the very person she basically aided in defeating her "best friend."
[Renee Young] I know right? Like has she not been paying attention? Ruby is the root of EVERY SINGLE ISSUE SHE'S HAD LATELY WITH ALEXA!
While Nia was distracted by unleashing hell upon Kairi Sane, the medical staff was given enough of an opening to carefully remove Bliss from the ring and place her on a stretcher, the same luxury won't be extended to Kairi it would seem. With her appetite for revenge being satiated for the time being, Nia turns towards the former location of her once best friend, finding nothing but a proverbial chalk outline before she shifts her attention towards the ramp, where Alexa is being taken to the back for medical examination, the expression on Nia's face returning to a more somber one, knowing full well that she's gone well past the point of no return as far as her relationship with Alexa Bliss is concerned.
[Mauro Ranallo] As a precaution they've loaded Alexa up on a gurney and it seems her next stop is the local medical facility. With as dangerous as her Bliss Stick already was, adding the sheer power of Nia Jax certainly could have left Bliss in serious condition.
[Corey Graves] I don't condone what happened I feel like that's how I'm being portrayed...I just think in moments like this mistakes are made because of simple things that fester into something more serious. Nia felt like Alexa replaced her, and Nia's first instinct is always to turn to destruction.
[Renee Young] This wasn't a mistake, this was outright betrayal. I hope she is feeling consumed by regret, that those are real tears because you know what? She is going to have to live with this decision for the rest of her life. I don't know what Alexa will have to say about all of this, whenever she regains consciousness and realizes what happened...but, we might witness the return of her more "wicked" side at the expense of Nia Jax if she's as angry as I am.
[Mauro Ranallo] An unfortunate development here tonight, we hope to have an update on Alexa's condition as the night goes on, but our thoughts are with her.
The camera switches back and forth between a shot of Alexa being wheeled through the curtain, and Nia gripping the ropes as she watches the fallout of her actions here tonight. The audience is in a similar mindset as our very own Renee Young, booing as loudly as they can at the woman who just betrayed her best friend, and then allowed someone as vile as Ruby Riott the opportunity to easily score a victory because of that betrayal. The scene finally fades out as we're left concerned by what we all just saw play out.

The Titantron lights up as a video begins to play on it, taking us to the backstage area where we spot a noticeably disappointed Daniel Bryan, who suffered a crushing defeat in his inring return at the hands of his adversary in Tyler Breeze earlier in the evening, though the means were less than spotless, that doesn't make the loss much easier. Bryan, seated on a bench, is slowly removing the tape from his wrist, replaying the loss on loop in his head, how could he overlook such a simple, yet underhanded tactic? Was his mistake perhaps expecting Breeze to play fair instead of taking a shortcut? Expecting the man that hired someone to play Santa as a distraction in the same night he made his triumphant return after a hiatus lasting a handful of months to want to prove that he was everything he claimed to be in the weeks leading up to this match was perhaps an oversight, thinking that doing everything he could to make a name for himself wouldn't translate to the match earlier in the evening but here we are. Bryan finishes removing the tape from his right wrist, shifting his attention to his left hand before beginning to repeat the process. While doing this menial task, the female interviewer known as Kayla Braxton finds herself within range of him, taking this opportunity to gather some intel on his mindset after his loss.
Kayla Braxton Excuse me, Daniel. Can I have a moment of your time?
Bryan doesn't acknowledge Kayla or the question, causing her to continue, after all, he didn't say no, right?
Kayla Braxton After things didn't go as planned, I would assume, earlier tonight when Tyler Breeze managed to pull an undoubtedly upset victory, through some nefarious means, when he defeated you after using the ropes as he would an ally, what does that loss mean and where does that leave Daniel Bryan?
Now finished undoing the tape on his left wrist, he crumples the two now spheres of wrist tape together and rises from his seated position, walking away from the impromptu interview and tossing the ball of tape into a nearby trash can, continuing his walk down a corridor and disappearing from sight of the camera, leaving Kayla almost unsure of how to react to this. But fear not, there's someone that will take the place of interviewee following Bryan's silent exit.
??? Ah-heh-hem...
The camera promptly follows the dramatic clearing of a throat until its lens lands on the most gorgeous superstar in XWL, Tyler Breeze. The King of Cuteville can't help but smirk as he delicately strokes his chin. Kayla, naturally, shifts the microphone in the direction of the superstar who had managed to secure the victory, albeit not in the most honorable manner, over Daniel Bryan earlier tonight.
Tyler Breeze Allow me to interject, Karen. What that truly memorable loss meant for Daniel Bryan is that he's exactly where he's always been, the very bottom of the food chain. The uggo goat man likes to fade in and out of this company, and each time he comes back he paints himself as the "American Dragon," some great and magnificent, yet incredibly mangy little underdog. Well Karla, as I'm sure you and anyone blessed with eyes fortunate enough to feast upon this adorable mug can see, I'm Prince Pretty. If there's one thing we princes are known for besides being undeniably good-looking, it's slaying dragons, and tonight I single handedly slayed the American Dragon and sent him sulking back to his rustic bungalow in the woods where his uggo goat wife is preparing whatever food it is that ugly people eat, and his uggo goat baby is probably pooping and crying and doing those other things that unpretty people's children do. Meanwhile Tyler Breeze, the biggest and most physically appealing star that XWL has to offer, continues to pioneer a new path in this business for all of the pretty people that are constantly overlooked by those simpleton fans who just want yet another ugly duckling success story. Well what pray tell does the Definition of Delish have to say about this? Hahaha.. Not on my fabulous watch.
Tyler flashes another front-page grin as he turns and exits the scene in the opposite direction of Daniel Bryan, leaving Kayla Braxton alone in the shot as the cameras transition into the next segment.

Breakthrough rolls on and the lights dim with the energy soaring from every direction, the theme music of the current reigning North American Women’s Champion begins filling the arena.
She steps right out onto the stage with the belt clipped to her side. Wearing her black shades, scanning the room she tilts them down and the camera zooms in on her. A smile appears on her face as she heads to the ring, entering it and circling it.
Toni steps to the middle of the ring and raises up her rockfist and shimmy’s off her jacket, giving the championship to the official before retreating to her corner.
The sounds of horses gallop away in the distance, then the creaking sound of a carriage and the atmosphere changes completely. Out from the back slowly appears Shayna Baszler with a towel perched over her neck and her hands holding onto it. She steps to the top of the stage and rolls her shoulders.
Renee Young This is the first time, Shayna Baszler gets alone time with Toni Time. Everyone can see it, she has her eyes on the prize.
Baszler darts down to the ring without much hesitation, nothing can stop her now. Shayna enters the ring after going up the steps and gets right into the face of Toni Storm, who pushes her away.
A smile comes across her face and the official steps in, sending them both to their respective corners.
Shayna and Toni look at each other then the title which is now being shown to both of them simultaneously. They nod at each other, then to the official with the championship belt raised by him for them to lock in on what’s on the line here.
Mauro Ranallo This is for all the marbles, the bragging rights and we’re about to see Toni’s first defense go down.

15 minutes into a brutal match, they reconnect with themselves and regroup.. both opponents are looking to engage, one with the crowd and the other with physicality. Toni puts on her game face after working the crowd up. Shayna keeping her composure eases up and jostles her arms, slowly inching up to the center. Storm readys up her fingers and then goes closer to Baszler, until Baszler sends a warning shot with a sly calculated kick to the back of the thigh. WHAP!
Toni shakes it off and then gives a brief smile before sending one back, SMHACK! Shayna almost wants to yell out a cuss, and instead clutches at it then out of nowhere a huge forearm angled into the bridge of Toni’s nose. Toni covering her face and then falling against the turnbuckle. Shayna fixes her mouthpiece and laughs at her in the corner covering up. Shayna wastes no time and dissects the opportunity, stepping right up and smacking her across the side of the head, stomping her deep into a seating position repeatedly. Then when you thought she was done, using the ropes to only apply pressure to her throat. The referee begins to count..
1 .. 2 .. 3 .. 4
Shayna gets off immediately, and drags the hair of Storm along with her, Storm sends some stiff elbows into the stomach that catches The Ace Of Spades off-guard. OOHMPH. Shayna takes a moment to integrate her pain with emotion and then pulls up Toni by her chin, slapping her and then Toni slaps her back. The fans are swayed with reactions. OOH. AWW. Storm then doesn’t let up and fires back with forearms of her own rocking Shayna still on her feet. Shayna getting dizzy and Toni has a war cry after all of this.
She starts twisting the arm of Shayna and then pulling her into her shoulder, a shoulder block that drops her to a knee. Shayna wrestles with what to do next, after a grimace is all over her face. Toni bends the wrist of Baszler and drags her to the mat with a knee on her chest. Baszler sprouts right up and turns the hold on her. Toni looks at her and sends a headbutt unprovoked to Shayna, Shayna sends one right back, they both fall to the mat.
Both women are going for broke and you can see it play out, Shayna is a bit shocked by this and Toni is now trickling.. Blood from her forehead after the unprotected headbutt. The referee intervenes to check on her but she refuses to be looked at. Toni crawls up to all fours, Shayna rolling to the ropes shaking her head, uses them to get up. Toni points to Shayna and then Shayna comes firing back with closed hammer fists to the back. Storm captures the leg of Shayna and trips her up forcefully, they sprawl all over the mat.
Toni gets the better of the two, getting up to her feet and sending kick after kick to the ribcage of Shayna who cowers to the corner. Toni runs her hands through her hair and goes to the opposite turnbuckle. The fans egg her on, she takes a full run at Shayna, only for Shayna to slip out to the side barely. Catching her breath as Toni smashes chest first into the top buckle. Baszler hops up to her feet and does a 360 with her knee pointed outward and clips the jaw of Toni who is about to fall down until Shayna uses her momentum against her and connects with an awkward landing merciless Dragon Suplex!
The Submission Magician spits down at the mat, wiping sweat off her brow and Toni unbeknownst to her has bounced up from the move and is on her feet. Shayna turns to see this and mutters to herself before going to land a palm strike. Toni catches the arm and sends up a kick that causes Shayna to hold it closely. Toni takes her by the hair and hooks her arms quickly.
Shayna struggling and her arms out of her control, until Storm is able to lift with all her might and take Shayna off the mat, Toni stumbles when rotating and it allows Baszler to hook her legs on her neck upside down, all that weight comes crashing down and high angles Storm’s body. Baszler wraps her arms now free around her waist and Toni’s legs that are kicking wildly. The referee slides down to the mat to see the STORM ZERO countered into a HURRICANRANA pinning predicament.
He slaps his hands down to the mat as the force is unrelenting from Shayna and this position she forced Toni into.
1….
2…..
You can see the look on Storm’s face and Shayna not letting go, the jaws of life are closing in on her.
2.9
And so they did, she has been bested by not only her own emotions, Shayna was too crafty to be put into that ever so easily, she wasn’t accounting for everything that could have happened.
..
.. 3!
Shayna pops off the pin and her eyes widen as she falls to the mat, Toni visibly upset with herself and Shayna slaps the mat with joy and passion all at once. Storm huddles up near the ropes with a look of concern on her face. Shayna is all smiles, and she’s on her hind legs now. She looks to the official and tells him to get the championship belt. He grabs the title and the fans BOO relentlessly.
Shayna takes it and holds it close to her chest, kissing it over and over again talking to herself. Limping still showing the sure tell tale signs of battle, Toni shakes her head displeased and exits the ring, up the ramp after a few fans give her comfort.
Mauro Ranallo That was nothing short than an absolute clinic.
Renee Young Shayna and Toni showing the world time and time again why women’s wrestling is the pinnacle of this industry today. Leaps and Bounds we’ve come, the true Breakthrough is the emergence of a strong division with worthy contenders. Tonight, in the form of Shayna Baszler.
Corey Graves This is what we strive off of, bell to blows and only the strong survive, you’re right Renee. This title was in the hands of a Rockstar in this business, the mighty fought tough and now it’s in the hands of a Magician that did a trick to seal the deal and the change of power has begun.
Mauro Ranallo Wait, is that!?
Corey Graves It is Mauro, it's.....
As Baszler holds the newly captured North American Championship high above her head along with her Ace playing card, a blonde woman jumps the barricade before quickly sliding into the ring behind the newly crowned NA champion. Baszler turns around, to show off her new gold to the rest of the XWL universe, but before she can realize what is even going on, she is grabbed by an arm around her neck, causing her to drop the NA championship, as she is stunned by what's happening. For she cant believe her eyes. it simply makes no sense that she would be attacked by.....

Renee Young IT'S MARYSE!
Renee was right, for the French/Canadian Bombshell from Montreal, Quebec, Canada is back and has her arm wraped around the neck of the new North American champion. Maryse smiles as she looks directly into the camera, before whipping her hair back while simulatiosly hitting Shayna Baszler with a devistating 'French Kiss', a variation of the DDT.
Mauro Ranallo Oh my god, what buisness does she have out here?
Corey Graves Obviously to settle some sort of beef with the new North American champion, or to simply show that shes back and better than ever Mauro.
Renee Young Either way, this is an extremely cowardly way of going about it. why couldnt she come out here and show herself before blindsiding someone immeditly after they had a hard fought match.
Mauro Ranallo I completely agree
Corey Graves Of course you do Mauro.
Mauro Ranallo Whats that supposed to mean?
Corey Graves It means you just hate to see a talented, good looking, young woman rise to the topof this buisness.
Renee Young Hh come on Corey, i don't think thats fair.
Corey Graves Just calling it like i see it Renee.
Maryse makes it back to her feet and looks down at the fallen champion. the crowd begins to boo, however Maryse seems unfased by this. On the contrary actually, she doesnt even seem to notice. she is far more preocupied with the strap laying beside Ms. Baszler. the strap with the large, shining, gold plate in the center. the gold glimmers in her eyes as she cant seem to move her gaze away from it. A new prize that has been added to XWL since she has last been in the ring. she leans down and picks up the NA championship. she is in awe at its buety. she raises it high in the air above her head as the XWL universe shower her in boo's. She looks around smiling as the fans show just how much they "condone" her actions here tonight. She soaks in her moment, and holds the NA championship high, with the champion at her feet.
Mauro Ranallo What a show of disrespect. she acts as if she's the champion or something.
Renee Young in her mind she probably is Mauro.
Corey Graves don't be ridiculous you two. she knows shes not champion. shes a veteran of this business that demands respect, and when its not given she takes it by force.
Renee Young why are you sticking up for her Corey? do you act like this towards all the pretty women on the roster?
Corey Graves PLEASE Renee. id like to think you thought more of me than that.
Mauro Ranallo I know I don't.....
Corey Graves what was that Mauro?
Mauro Ranallo I didn't say anything Corey, nothing at all.
As Shayna Baszler begins to regain consciousness Maryse throws the Championship down onto her chest almost knocking the wind out of her lungs. Maryse drops to the mat, rolls out of the ring, and begins to make her way up the ramp all while watching Baszler begin to realize what is going on. Maryse laughs as Baszler holds her neck in pain, watching the woman who just attacked her walk away scot free. Maryse waves goodbye and blows a kiss to the North American Champion before Breakthrough fades away to a video package hyping up tonight Main Event between Chris Jericho and Johnny Gargano for the World Heavyweight Championship.

We return from commercial break and in the ring is The Bruiserweight’ Pete Dunne who we saw earlier on in the night with his Undisputed Era stablemates
[Mauro Ranallo] I wonder what he is doing out here again, he’s supposed to be having a match.
Dunne takes the microphone and doesn’t look too pleased with the circumstances of what’s going on.
THE BRUISERWEIGHT’ Pete Dunne I flew out here to New Orleans not only to make a statement, not only to send a message but to enforce my will upon Sami Zayn. This was going to be the final nail in the coffin, and unfortunately I was told before I came out here after literal weeks preparing.
Dunne runs his hands through his hair and snarls into the microphone then lifts it back up.
THE BRUISERWEIGHT’ Pete Dunne SAMI ZAYN.. Isn’t here, at the last moment he decided to back out? I can’t say I don’t blame him but all that talk about me being a coward. Doing what you just did, what does that make you? Sami Scared, you’re afraid of me because of the mayhem I put you through in that Steel Cage. You had your back up against that wall, your body indented with the confines of the steel, you didn't stand a slim chance.
He nods and the crowd has a mixed reaction to this allegation.
THE BRUISERWEIGHT’ Pete Dunne I took you for everything you’ve got, and your best shot wasn’t good enough. You are nothing without the spotlight I gave you, out of the kindness of my heart. I gave you a platform to show me the real Sami Zayn, not the dancing kissing Chris Jericho and Kevin Owen’s ass, mark. I gave you a purpose and in return you gave me the purpose to break you down piece by piece.
Dunne puts his tongue in his cheek and thinks for a few seconds to himself.
[Corey Graves] Confident, Bold and he's not sparing any truths.
THE BRUISERWEIGHT’ Pete Dunne You actually made it easy for me for once, and a LOT easier on yourself. There you have it everyone, the real meaning of this Pay-Per-View. Sami Zayn came to his senses, and finally.. FINALLY made a Breakthrough.
[Renee Young] Sami Zayn is not out here to defend himself, so i'm not sure he's entirely right. Personal matters exist too, you know?
[Corey Graves] He tucked his tail and ran, you heard it by Pete who said it best. Sami is afraid of coming up as a loser once again.
He twirls the microphone and then looks dead into the camera’s view.
THE BRUISERWEIGHT’ Pete Dunne When you get bruised by the Bruiserweight, it’s your own damn fault!
Dunne drops the microphone and XWL Breakthrough continues with those last emphatic words left on the minds of the audience.

Before the referee even has a chance to raise his hand, Omega rushes over to the corner. He calls for a microphone from ringside. His music quickly fades out.
KENNY OMEGA "As if there was any doubt..."
Fans around the arena cheer loudly for the great performance they just witnessed.
KENNY OMEGA "Roddy, you made a mistake when you challenged me and you paid dearly. Let this serve as a warning to the rest of Undisputed Era... heck, the rest of the roster. I suggest from now on you all pick your battles wisely, because if you end up in my crosshair you better believe you will be shot down. This is a new year.. This is a new Kenny Omega.. and when you step in the ring with The Best Bout Machine, one of two things will happen. I will either lift you up onto my shoulder and send your pretty little head crashing into the mat, beating you one, two, three.. or I will DIE trying!"
Omega shows a serious demeanor as the audience cheers for his confidence.
KENNY OMEGA "This is my time now!"
Omega slowly turns while point to the audience.
KENNY OMEGA "This is our time now!"
Loud "O-MEG-A!" chants fill the Smoothie King Center.
KENNY OMEGA "Now I would love to stay out here and speak to you more, but unfortunately time slots exist. So for now I must bid you beautiful people adieu."
Making a gun gesture with his hand, Omega raises said hand into the air.
KENNY OMEGA "GOODBYE..."
Omega lowers the "gun", pointing it away from his side now.
KENNY OMEGA "AND GOOD...NIGHT!"
Omega drops the microphone. As his theme song plays, I takes in the audience for a moment. He scans the crowd and points out fans wearing his T-shirts. After a few more moments, Omega exits the ring.
XWL Breakthrough continues.

Breakthrough has already been a night to remember and there's still a lot more to come. The camera zooms out and does a wide shot of the arena which showcases the thousands of members of the XWL Universe in attendance here tonight and judging by the excitement on most of their faces, we can bet that most of them feel as though they got their money's worth in regards to their ticket purchase for this event.
As a legendary commentator from a company we don't like to name around here used to famously say, BUSINESS IS ABOUT TO PICK UP!
It was last week on the Breakthrough go-home show where Tessa Blanchard picked up a win over Becky Lynch, not due in part to Beth Phoenix's interference in the match of course, that topic's for another day, point is, Tessa got the 3 count on Becky and that's all she cares about.
Tessa then proceeded to give an interview to backstage reporter Dasha Fuentes which went up on XWL.com's exclusives section just a matter of days ago and she proceeded to tear into Ronda Rousey once again for a variety of things, mainly criticizing her for her not appearing on Anarchy since their initial confrontation last month. Tessa ended that interview by calling out Ronda once again, Tessa made it clear that she was coming to the ring tonight and that she wanted Ronda woman up, show up, and stand in the ring with her face to face to settle all of this once and for all, it appears Tessa is making good on her promise right now, but will Ronda show?
Tessa makes her way out onto the stage but there's no theatrics tonight, there's no infamous cocky and swaggy Tessa pose at the top of the ramp to kick off her entrance, it's just a clearly frustrated Tessa Blanchard in her black ring gear and her new "The Diamond Is Forever" t-shirt which is up on XWLShop.com right now for $27.99. She makes her way down the ramp with intent, wasting no time she climbs the steps and enters the ring, she doesn't even waste time requesting a mic from ringside because she's came prepared, she pulls a mic out from the side of her waist area under her t-shirt and hits the top of it with her palm to do a soundcheck which causes multiple "thumps" to come across the pa system.
(Tessa Blanchard) Cut the music, CUT IT NOW!!!
(Tessa Blanchard) I'm a WOMAN of my word, I'm here to call you out just like I said I would be Ronda, and guess what? to no surprise to me at least, you're nowhere to be found. I did a little looking around backstage before we went live, did a little asking around to see if you had showed up, wanna know what the common consensus was? "She ain't here" "Nah haven't seen her" You get the gist of it, various versions of she's not here tonight, matter of fact? nobody has seen or heard from you since the moment I returned last month. Now we've seen your advocate and or daddy, whichever you prefer to call him, come out here and speak on your behalf, and quite frankly? all that did is piss me off.
(Tessa Blanchard) The nerve of you to sit atop your pedestal and act as though I'm so far beneath you that I ain't worth you showing up to WORK to address me to my FACE. I may talk alot of shit Ronda, but let's get one thing clear? I KNOW I can back it up, I DO back it up, and more importantly, I SHOW UP!!! (Tessa Blanchard) So let's cut the BS right now because I've been down this road multiple times before with you, I've said all I need to say and I'm DONE TALKING! The time for talk on my end is over Ronda, bring your ass down here and show me just how BAD you are! Otherwise? stay at home for good and don't show your name around here again because this business doesn't need another golden goose who's gonna show up a few times a year and milk their contract for all it's worth. This division? although it's filled with cupcakes? I believe in what it stands for, I believe that the BEST WRESTLER should lead it and should be the focal point of it, I don't believe Natalya is that person nor do I believe it to be Liv Morgan, but I'll give them credit for one thing, they're gonna settle their beef tonight, where as me? I might get stood up by the baddest woman on the planet, her words not mine by the way. And I'd say? that'd be a damn shame...
(Tessa Blanchard) So let's go honey, put up or shut up time what's it gonna be???
The crowd jump to their feet as the theme of Ronda Rousey hits across the arena! As the saying goes, be careful what you wish for. Seconds later, a clearly angered Ronda Rousey storms out from behind the curtain and directly down the ramp. Ronda doesn't remove her eyes from Tessa, just with a death stare towards her the entire walk of the ramp. Ronda jumps into the ring, and instantly gets into the face of Tessa Blanchard. Tensions rise even further, but a match official quickly jumps in the ring to split the two up.
Ronda backs up and requests a microphone
[Ronda Rousey] For the last few weeks, I've watched you talk and talk and talk. I haven't been here, you're right...but I don't need to be here. I don't need to be here any night...but I'm here right now because this is everything I wanted to do. You NEED this, you NEED to be here right now just so these fans don't forget your name. So you don't become even more irrelevant than you already are. You got here because of your father. I got here...because I worked my ass off my entire life, whatever I did I was successful, I dominated everything I ever did. Do you think this is going to be any different? I got thrown off that stage...and I walked away. What makes you think you can stop me? What makes you think you can do anything to me?
[Ronda Rousey] Many women have tried to step up to my level, and most of them have failed. You are no different! I get it, you're trying to use me to achieve more fame, to get people to talk about you! But it isn't going to work for you... Once I've done ripping you limb from limb, Once I've done smashing your face to an unrecognisable mess....NOBODY will ever see you, or talk about you ever again.
[Ronda Rousey] I am the baddest woman on the planet for a reason. You can complain I haven't been here, but the only thing I know how to do is fight... I'm not here to come and talk, I'm here to fight. So if you want to settle this, if you want to put an end to all of this....well, I'm standing right here.
Ronda Rousey steps forward, into the face of Tessa. Tessa shoves Ronda, and Ronda shoves her back. The official tries his best to once again separate the two, but they once again go face to face. Then a voice is heard over the arena...and it's the voice of Drake Maverick!
[Drake Maverick] Ladies! Enough of this! We've seen you at each others throats for weeks. You both have the same goal in mind, and at the moment you are both indeed top contenders in this division. But we don't decide the top contenders by talking! You both want to be in a possible future womens title match? Well, I'm giving you both the chance right now! This is your chance to put your name in the list for a future womens title shot....You have a ref, so lets settle this one on one right now!
A huge cheer comes from the XWL Universe, as a bonus match is added to Breakthrough! Ronda and Tessa both nod in agreement, this is clearly what they both want...and now it's going to happenen!
The jaws on some members of the XWL Universe are dropped as Tessa Blanchard has just pinned Ronda Rousey here at Breakthrough. After weeks and weeks of talk, Tessa backed up her words tonight and picked up arguably the biggest win of her XWL career over the former MMA phenom.
Tessa rises to her feet following the pin and orders the ref to stop checking on Ronda's condition and raise her hand in victory, the ref reluctantly obliges and raises Tessa's hand before immediately going back to checking on Rousey's condition. The camera focusing in on Tessa in the ring manages to pick up the following audio from Tessa directed at Rousey, "I told you so!, I told you what was coming BITCH!, IT'S MY TIME NOW!!!!"
Tessa stands in the center of the ring and executes one of her classic motions, she dusts off her shoulder in a cocky manner signalling to the world that her work is done for the evening and that in her mind? it was just another day at the office for Tessa B.
Tessa exits the ring and heads up the ramp, she pays no attention to any of the fans on the way up except for one fan who is holding a sign which reads "Tessa B = Queen B", she points at the fan and his sign and goes "See this guy? this guy gets it!!! It's my time to claim the crown and sit atop the throne of the Women's division. Congrats Nattie, I saw what your win earlier tonight, but no more cupcakes like Liv Morgan and no more has been's like Sasha Banks, Tessa B is coming your way Nattie and my ascension to the top is UNDENIABLE!!!"
Tessa stands atop the stage with her arms outstretched signalling that she's ready for Natalya or whatever comes next for that matter, she's ready to be crowned queen of this company, and at this rate? who knows if anyone, even the "Queen Of Hearts" herself can stop the rise of Tessa Blanchard in this company. As the saying goes, we'll just have to wait and see, and on that note, Tessa disappears through the curtain backstage and Breakthrough goes into another advertisement break.

SHOCK THE SYSTEM! Kyle o'Reilly and Bobby Fish stroll out from behind the curtain, as calm as ever. The cocky strut onto top of the ramp, as usual the both stop at top of the ramp. They look across at each other, before lifting up their hands for the Undisputed Era symbol!
A touch of hands between reDragon, then they begin their walk to the ring. Half way down the ramp, Bobby Fish stops at a fan with a hat in support of their opponents, Trash City Stupid Idiots. Fish grabs the hat off the head of the fan, looking at the hat. Fish shows the hat to, Kyle both laugh at the terrible design on the hat. Before Fish throws the hat away from the fan! The TCSI fan is furious about his hat, but reDragon just laugh it off and walk down the ramp.
Both men enter the ring, and once again shoot up the Undisputed Era hand symbols. They both remove their Undisputed Era shirts and tease throwing them into the crowd, before once again laughing at the XWL universe, and keeping their shirts in their corner.
The lights in the arena dim as the all too familiar theme that has become one of the anthems of the Trash City Stupid Idiots begins to play, a roaring cheer emanating from the live audience in attendance in support of the defending XWL Tag Team Champions. As the music kicks in, the dimmed arena has a random assortment of lights flashing in various colors in time to the theme, the rainbow of colored lights, while a beautiful sight, should have come with a minor epilepsy warning attached to them. This hill is quickly climbed with the vocals come into play, causing a spotlight to fall upon the stage as a familiar sight takes its place: One where Chad Gable is on his knees with his arms extended outwards and his half of the Championships worn proudly around his waist as his head is tilted upwards looking up at the ceiling with his eyes closed and a smile etched on his face.
Behind him stands Chris Sabin, his body turned ninety degrees to the left and his right arm extended towards the Undisputed Era occupied ring in the shape of a gun, his half of the Championships worn with pride sits snugly wrapped around his waist. With the unlikely duo turned Tag Team Champions holding the pose a bit longer, this allows the spotlight to reflect off the Championships in a beautifully cinematic shot for the ages. Sabin would fire his “gun,” causing Gable to rise to his feet and Sabin to move forward and take his place at Gable's side, the duo soaking in the positive reaction from the live audience in attendance. Gable waits patiently for his cue, the anticipation starting to build with every passing second and just when it seems like he wouldn't be able to wait for it, he throws himself forward, sliding about a quarter of the ramp down with his arms extended, shouting:
TAKE ON ME
The crowd joins in as they tend to do, repeating the line Gable just sung at the top of his lungs in unison: “Take on me!” This gives Sabin a split second to put himself in position for the next line as he charges down the ramp, granted not as quickly as Gable since he's running instead of sliding, but a split second is all he needs.
TAKE ME ON
For the second time, the crowd plays as the backup vocals, shouting out “Take on me!” once more, allowing Gable to make it to his feet and the Champions to throw their respective arm around the other, using their free hand to undo the Championships around their waist, lifting them into the air and singing along to the next line as a team.
I'LL BE GONE
With that masterful rendition or the butchering of a classic, whichever you see fit to use, the Tag Champs break apart and continue down the remainder of the entrance ramp, slapping the hands of the members of the XWL Universe on either side of them. Upon reaching the bottom of the ramp, Gable rolls into the ring through the bottom rope and scales the second rope while Sabin remains on the outside, opting to climb onto the apron and stand on the second rope from the outside. With the duo now on even ground, they extend their Championships towards the main camera, showing not only that portion of the live audience in attendance, but also those watching at home, that they hold the prize that the Undisputed Era desire. They turn their attention to the men standing in the ring, their opponents for the evening in Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly and repeat the gesture, extending the Championships towards them before Gable hops off the middle rope and lands safely on the canvas while Sabin leaps over the top rope and lands firmly inside the ring. Standing on opposite ends of the ring, a brief staredown ensues before the ring announcer steps forward from the corner and pulls the microphone up to her lips to announce the participates of the upcoming match.
JoJo The following contest is scheduled for one fall, and is for the XWL Tag Team Championships! Introducing first, the challengers, representing The Undisputed Era, weighing in at a combined weight of three hundred and ninety seven pounds, the team of Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly!
The duo walk towards the center of the ring, putting their hands together for the trademark “UE” hand gesture then transitioning from that pose to one that oozes of their intentions to become the new Tag Team Champions when they motion to their waists. With that, they take a few steps back, now notably wearing smirks on their faces.
JoJo And their opponents, weighing in at a combined weight of four hundred and eight pounds, they are the current XWL Tag Team Champions, the team of Chad Gable and Chris Sabin, The Trash City Stupid Idiots!
Using this as their opportunity to fire back, the “Stupid Idiots” from “Trash City” throw their Championships over their shoulder and do a mock version of the “UE” gesture, causing Fish and O'Reilly to snicker amongst themselves before Fish looks at Sabin and chimes in with, “You're doing it wrong, idiot!” causing Gable to look at Sabin infact doing the hand gesture incorrectly. Gable quickly corrects the error by taking a hold of Sabin's wrists and readjusting the pose before lifting the Championship into the air, Sabin doing the same a moment later. With the introductions now a memory of the past, Gable and Sabin hand over the prize both these teams for fighting for, one to retain and the other to obtain, in the XWL Tag Team Championships. The referee raises both Championships into the air, the time for talking coming to an end as the time to put up or shut up now begins. Both teams decide which one among them will start the match while the referee hands over the Championships to the timekeeper and checks to see if both teams are ready before calling for the bell, starting this Championship match.
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
The momentum of this match has refused to remain in either teams corner for more than a few moments, instead option to stay neutral, as The Undisputed Era's Kyle O'Reilly looks to put a change to that by locking in the dreaded and infamous Ankle Lock onto Chad Gable, who begins to scratch and claw to the ropes or his partner, whichever is closer and will get him out of this submission predicament. O'Reilly uses his vertical base to his advantage, refusing to budge even an inch to deny Gable any sense of hope that he'll escape, but unfortunately for the Undisputed Era representative, this is one of Gable's go to maneuvers, if anybody's going to escape this, it's him. And escape he does when he brings his body to a near perfect horizontal line, utilizing a push up to end all push ups to give himself enough momentum to roll through the hold and send O'Reilly unwillingly charging forward to proverbial no man's land in the form of the Trash City Stupid Idiot's corner.
Preparing for collision with the turnbuckle, O'Reilly puts his hands in front of his chest in an attempt to stop himself but that wasn't where the damage would come from as Sabin, using the ropes as the third member of his team, launches himself into the air, throwing his leg at the incoming Kyle O'Reilly and catching him across the jaw with a picture perfect Enzuigiri, causing the challenger to stagger backwards right into Gable's waiting arms. Gable wraps those very same arms in a vice like grip around O'Reilly's waist, lifting him up into the air with the greatest of ease, the predictable arc his body takes ends with him colliding with the unforgiving canvas courtesy of a German Suplex from Chad Gable. He bridges over, forcing the referee to drop down onto the mat and begin the count.
1...
2...
3! NO!
O'Reilly's shoulder comes flying off the canvas at the literal last possible second, keeping his team's Championship dreams from being shattered here tonight. Gable begins motioning to the referee with three fingers raised, asking if that was a three count but the referee insists that it was infact a two count. Gable, not exactly thrilled at the call, accepts it regardless and pulls himself up to a knee before making it back to a vertical base, tagging in his partner in Chris Sabin, the duo trading places on the apron as Sabin reenters the match by making a beeline towards the downed Kyle O'Reilly. This proves to be a mistake as O'Reilly's defensive mechanisms have activated, forcing the incoming Chris Sabin to be tripped up, slamming onto the canvas with a thud, and O'Reilly to be in control as a second Ankle Lock finds itself being applied onto Sabin.
Not wanting to relive history, O'Reilly backs himself towards his side of the ring, nearly causing an unintentional rope break but close enough to Bobby Fish to allow him to make the tag. Unaware of Fish's plan until it was executed, O'Reilly looks over his shoulder to see his partner go from being on the apron to entering the ring, the momentary distraction allowing Sabin to make up some ground for the brief moment but not enough to pass the unmarked “halfway” point of the ring when O'Reilly refocuses on the task at hand. Using this as his moment to shine, Fish drops down to the canvas and traps Sabin's right arm inbetween his legs and wraps his arms around Sabin's face, locking in a Crossface in combination with the Ankle Lock, putting Sabin in range for a submission defeat.
Gable, not about to just stand there and watch as his partner becomes a human pretzel, storms into the ring, causing Sabin's eyes to light up as his partner's about to break up the duality of submissions being applied to him. The light begins to fade when Gable walks past Sabin and takes a hold of Fish's leg, applying his own Ankle Lock onto his opponent as he and O'Reilly engage in an intense staredown, the battle of Ankle Locks now being underway. The referee stands in the center of the ring, torn about how to call this, on one hand, the illegal men in Chad Gable and Kyle O'Reilly are in the ring when they shouldn't be. This alone would normally cause him to begin a count to disqualify the interfering superstar, but when the possible submission of Chris Sabin puts that into question. A brief internal conflict plagues the referee before he ultimately decides to allow this to continue for the time being.
Sabin tries to hold out as long as he possibly can but it quickly proves to be quite the struggle, his arm inching closer and closer to the canvas before pulling it away and repeating the process numerous times. Gable, seeing that their Championship reign will come to an end if he doesn't do something and quick, forces Fish to break the Crossface through sheer force alone, dragging him off Sabin and properly applying the Ankle Lock with its optimal pressure. With Fish and Sabin now being face to face as their ankles risk being ripped off their legs, the men applies their respective versions of the hold remain in their staredown as this war for Ankle Lock supremacy ensues. Gable shouts out to O'Reilly, “Mine's better!” causing the latter to yell back to the former, “No, Mine's better!' leading to the downed pair of superstars in Fish and Sabin, the two legal men mind you, to begin trading shots with one another, starting with Sabin firing the first shot then Fish retaliating with one of his own.
A war being fought on all fronts soon comes to its natural conclusion, between the stiff shots being traded by the men locked in submissions to the ones applying said submission holds doing their best to make their opponent submit before their own partner does. The race reaches its end when the pain becomes too much for the men named Bobby Fish and Chris Sabin, both men admitting defeat and tapping their hands on the canvas as if they were trying to put out some imaginary fire, a fire that all things considered would not even be able to ignite the mat so there goes that analogy. O'Reilly and Gable release their respective holds and stand face to face while the recipients of said holds lie on the canvas, holding their afflicted ankles in pain. An argument between them ensues, just exactly who made who tap out first? As each man pleads their case to the best of their ability, the referee, seeing that the submission that both men obtained isn't a valid form of victory since neither were the legal man, begins to count both men for illegally being in the ring.
1...
The first of a potential five falls on deaf ears as both men clearly believe that they made their opponent tap out before the other. We, the audience, know that this infact doesn't really matter as far as the match is concerned but when it comes to pride, every little victory matters.
2...
O'Reilly shouts out “I tapped Sabin out first!” “No, I tapped Fish out first!” is Gable's rebuttal to the situation before them. Sure that words wouldn't solve this argument, both men step up to one another, ready to settle this the old fashioned way: Fisticuffs.
3...
Before the first shot is fired, both men turn their attention to the referee, neither man sure why he's counting as they shift their attention to the other, both having confused expressions on their faces.
4...
The sudden realization sets in and both their eyes widen at what's happening before them, accidentally running into each other as they scramble out of the ring to avoid disqualification, throwing themselves out through the middle rope to keep this match from ending like that. With their argument not having a clear winner, the true victor is the referee for restoring order to this match the only way he knows how. O'Reilly and Gable find their way back to their respective corner as the both men in the ring now begin their own race: A race to make it back to their feet and reclaim the match's momentum for their team.
The struggle is more than apparent as the pair of downed superstars hold their hurt ankles following the submission exhibition that was shown prior to the current moment, Fish crawling towards the nearest turnbuckle, which happens to be between his own team's turnbuckle and his opponents, while Sabin opts to make his way towards his partner. Sabin's grueling journey is written all over his face, the indescribable pain, the sheer tenacity of his will being both put to the test and on display to those watching from the crowd and comfortably at home. Fish makes it to his feet first, well, foot since he can seemingly barely stand after the clinic Gable unleashed upon his ankle, his hurt ankle clearly being shown as he can noticeably barely put any pressure on it.
Fish spots Sabin about to reach his destination in the shape of the Tag Champions corner and Gable's outstretched arm, almost begging for the tag to reinsert himself into this hotly contested match. Not about to let that happen and seeing as he has no choice but to attempt to put a stop to it, Fish hobbles over to the downed Chris Sabin, causing Gable to warn his partner about the rapidly approaching dream killer about his intentions. Sabin turns his head and takes a deep breath before throwing himself up to his feet and quickly transitioning into a basement dropkick for the unsuspecting superstar, sending Fish stumbling forward into the middle turnbuckle and putting himself in a bad way in enemy territory.
Using most of his remaining energy, Sabin slowly pulls himself up using the nearest set of ring ropes before visibly mouthing something that isn't picked up on any of the camera microphones that causes Gable to nod before he's tagged into the match. With Gable scaling the turnbuckle from the outside, Sabin pulls Fish off the middle turnbuckle and using his opponent to secure his own vertical base, he wraps his arms around Fish's neck before spinning him around while hopping on one foot, putting him in a hangman's neckbreaker position. O'Reilly objects to this and enters the ring with the intent to put a stop to this display. He charges at Sabin with a clothesline in mind but he overshoots it just a tad, allowing Sabin to barely duck under it and take a hold of O'Reilly's head, putting both members of The Undisputed Era in a precarious position. Just as the duo of challengers begin to struggle out of it, Gable soars through the air with a moonsault that calling “picture perfect” would be an grand understatement. He crashes across both his opponents, Sabin comboing the maneuver with a double neckbreaker and collectively laying out both members of the enemy team. O'Reilly instinctively rolls out of the ring through the bottom rope, leaving Fish to be put into a pinning predicament by Gable.
1...
2...
3!
With the match finally reaching its conclusion, Gable pulls himself off of Fish, who follows suit and slowly rolls out of the ring to join this partner, and uses the ropes to reach a kneeling position. He looks over towards his tag partner in Chris Sabin, who has taken residence at the bottom turnbuckle, using it as a makeshift seat to keep himself from being completely horizontal and parallel with the canvas. The “Stupid Idiots” from “Trash City” engage in a mutual smile and nod, managing to overcome their biggest challenge to date as their theme plays in the background alongside the cheers from the live audience in attendance. The referee retrieves the XWL Tag Team Championships and hands them over to the victorious pair as JoJo announces their successful defense here tonight.
With each Champion having their prize in their possession, Sabin, holding his half of the Tag Team Championships, lifts it towards Gable, who lifts his half towards Sabin, causing the Championships to collide between them, another successful defense in the books. Gable pulls the Championship back towards himself and extends his free hand to Sabin, who takes it without question and is helped up to his feet, the duo using the other to keep themselves standing as they hold up the Championships they retained high into the air. The final scene shown is just that, a beaten, battered and bruised version of The Trash City Stupid Idiots, but one that remains as Tag Team Champions, a price that will be paid time and time again without question. With that, the screen begins to fade into a promotional video package hyping up the start of the road to Final Stand, the biggest Pay-Per-View of the year.

The referees hand lands the third count as Cody successfully gets the second fall, and with that the match. Cody begins to celebrate as Jimmy begins arguing with the referee, angry that he lost the match and arguing that the referee counted fast. The referee simply lifts Cody's hand in victory as Jimmy stews with anger, sliding out of the ring.
Mauro Ranallo After one hell of a wrestling match, where both men left absolutely everything they had out in the ring, Cody has bested Jimmy Havoc and taken the victory in this best 2 out of 3 falls match.
Corey Graves That's right Mauro. These men put each other through absolute hell, and with either man barely able to stand at the end of this match, I think it's clear that the fans definitely got their money's worth.
As Corey stops talking the camera moves back to the ring, where Cody is celebrating as Brandy runs out to the ring. The two celebrate in the ring when suddenly Jimmy is seen carrying a pink folding chair and sliding back in the ring, holding it as if ready to start swinging at any time.
Jimmy Havoc You know something Cody. You were my white whale. The man that everyone claimed was wrestling royalty. Someone who I was told...if you can make it against him you can make it against anyone in the XWL. But I didn't just want to make it against you Cody. I wanted to destroy you and everything you held dear.
Jimmy pauses a moment as he looks down at the chair and for a moment begins to raise it as if to swing it at Cody. He then throws it to the mat.
Jimmy Havoc Cody, I may not have destroyed you. I may not have accomplished what I set out to. But something that I did not expect to happen was to come out of this match with respect for you. But, you stepped into my environment and took me to my limit. I stepped into yours and did the same.
Jimmy extends his hand to Cody.
Cody extends out his hand meeting Jimmy’s and requests the microphone with the other.
Cody You know something? I came out here to prove a point as well, a point I already knew, that these fans knew, that you being a death match wrestler, legend per say didn’t belong in a wrestling ring with the likes of me. Everyone holds me to wrestling royalty because of my father, my brother, if you can’t make it with me, you don’t belong here. These last 3 battles were the first we ever met face to face inside of a wrestling ring, we bested each other, white flags or not. But I promise you this, these will not be the last I can guaran damn tee you that.
Cody finshes speaking as the crowd cheers for the two standing in the ring shaking each other's hands, Jimmy rolls out of the ring when suddenly the lights in the arena go out.
Renee Young What the hell?
Corey Graves This is happening way too often; can we please turn the lights back on?
Mauro Ranallo Ladies and gentleman, apologies on behalf of the XWL, we have absolutely no idea what is going on, we are working diligently to restore lighting in the arena as fast as possible. Do not adjust your picture, we are still live, experiencing some lighting difficulties, we hope to have power restored soon please be patient with us as we work to fix the issue.
The lights come back on, Cody is left standing in the ring... confused. He looks towards the ramp, and becomes even more confused by the fact standing at top of the ramp...is Paul Heyman!
Corey Graves That's...That's Paul Heyman! What is he doing here?
Heyman is stood, looking towards Cod giving him a sarcastic applause, The applause stops ..Heyman then points behind Cody. Cody turns around.....
And is taken out by a steel chair! Cody crumbles in a heap, and the camera pans out to reveal CM Punk!
Mauro Ranallo THAT'S CM PUNK!
The returning CM Punk lands chair shot after chair shot to the back of Cody! Every time Cody tries to get to his feet, he is hit back down with yet another chair shot. The back of Cody is beaten, red and bloodied by the viscous chair shots. But CM Punk isn't done yet, he lifts up the lifeless body of Cody..... GTS! A sickening knee to the face of Cody, as he once again drops in a heap the mat. Boo's reign down on the former World Champion. Punk just raises out his arms and soaks in the reaction. Standing over the lifeless body of Cody, with a smirk across his face.
Paul Heyman, still standing at top of the ramp is laughing and clearly pleased with the destruction caused by CM Punk. Match officials now enter the ring, to save Cody from any more damage... Punk raises up his hands, backing off. CM Punk exits the ring, and walks up the ramp towards Paul Heyman. They embrace with a hug!
Corey Graves What have we just seen?! CM Punk is back...and with Paul Heyman?
As medics and officials do their best to help Cody, Punk stands and looks back the damage he caused.
We see CM Punk raise his arms out once again, proud of what he's just done...and clearly proud the the XWL Universe fill the arena with boo's. A smirk across the face of both Paul Heyman and CM Punk is the last image we see as Breakthrough cuts to a commercial for Final Stand!

[Mauro Ranallo] FINN BALOR WITH NO REGARD FOR HIS OWN LIFE!
Mauro’s call is dramatic, but it may be the truth with such a risky move like that, off the top of the Cell no less! While it's clear Wyatt take the most of the damage, Finn Balor is still left writhing on the ground after the fall, clutching his elbow and his sides. Both men are left laying there for quite some time, until…
[Corey Graves] Not this again!
The lights in the Smoothie King Center all shut off, leaving the arena in pitch black. While this is something we've gotten used to when these two are involved, this time it's lasting far longer than usual. However, when the lights come back on, it's clear that something significant has happened. No longer are both of the men still on the ground, as Bray Wyatt now stands tall above Finn Balor. However, it is not simply the fact that he has gotten up so quickly that is cause for alarm. As Bray Wyatt slowly turns to face the camera, we see his face is now completely decked in the face pain of the Demon King.
[Renee Young] Oh my god……
[Mauro Ranallo] Bray Wyatt has stolen the power of the demon king!
Bray Wyatt looks up to the rafters and lets out a loud, bellowing laugh, signifying his newfound control over the power of the demon he has stolen from Finn Balor. He looks down at the limp body of Finn Balor, who just risked his own body to try and win this match. But his failure was in and still thinking he had the body of a demon, not just the body of a man. Bray Wyatt slowly scoops up the body of Finn Balor and places him on his back in a fireman’s carry. Wyatt looks to the top of the cell, and the one look he sends is all the fans need to see to know what his plans are. With Balor still on his back, Wyatt begins to scale back to the top of the cell, with a speed we have never seen from either him or from anyone climbing the cell period, as the newfound rush of power he’s been given allows him extraordinary abilities. Once he reaches the top of the cell, he makes his way directly to the middle and removes Finn Balor from atop his shoulders, placing him within his arms in position for a Sister Abigail.
[Renee Young] Bray Wyatt is about to hit a Sister Abigail on top of the Cell! Both men could end up falling through!
[Corey Graves] He has the power of the demon and he thinks nothing can stand in his way!
However, Corey may be wrong in this case. Because as Wyatt tries to hit Sister Abigail on Finn, he can’t do it. Something’s not right. Everytime he tries to do it seems that he stops himself halfway through the motion. However it can’t just be that he’s stopping himself on purpose, as each time he visibly grows more and more frustrated with what’s happening. Eventually it’s not just frustration however, as Wyatt’s face shows that he is in visible pain.
[Corey Graves] What is happening to Bray Wyatt?
But at this point it’s become clear to many. He was greedy. Wyatt doesn’t know how to properly handle his newfound powers he stole. Powers Finn Balor has cultivated, learned from. Wyatt took them as they were and expected them to work for him. A fool’s mistake. And so even as he holds Finn Balor in position for a Sister Abigail, he finds himself unable to hit it. Not only does this delay frustrate Wyatt however, it gives Balor time to recover. In a swift motion that the human eye can barely see, Balor manages to toss Wyatt quickly to the ground and stomp down hard on his chest, breaking the Cell and sending Wyatt crashing down to the ring!
[Mauro Ranallo] OH MY GOD!
Despite his lack of control over the demon powers, Wyatt has managed to use both his own strength and the power of whatever “Celestial Beings” have been speaking to him to still pick up the victory at the ends of this brutal match. He slowly makes his way to his feet as the cell is raised. He looks down at the body of Finn Balor and smiles, before being handed his signature lantern by the referee. Now with lantern in hand, he kneels down with arms outstretched and looks to the sky.
[Mauro Ranallo] What is this?
[Renee Young] What is Aleister Black doing here?
Renee’s question is the one on everyone’s minds, as Aleister Black slowly makes his way out from behind the curtain and down the entrance ramp. Even Bray Wyatt, who some assumed was the man behind this, is visibly confused, watching Black’s every motion as he makes his way towards the ring where he is currently kneeling. Once he makes his way into the ring, Wyatt stands up to his feet, still wary of everything Black does. However, Black makes his way right past Wyatt and walks over to the body of Finn Balor, laying on the ground. He looks down at the body for a few moments, before quickly scooping his body up and hitting the Black Mass!
[Corey Graves] What the hell?
What the hell indeed. What is Aleister’s motivation for attacking the man who just lost? Why did he come out now of all times. Will any of this be answered? It seems the answer is no, as Black then makes his way back out of the ring, but not before stopping in front of Wyatt and nodding at him. As he leaves the ring, Bray Wyatt’s theme begins to play once again. However, it doesn’t seem Bray Wyatt is relishing in his victory any longer, as the last thing we see before Breakthrough continues is Bray Wyatt’s face looking out towards the entrance ramp, unsure of what has just transpired before him.

[Mauro Ranallo] Well, ladies and gentlemen, it is now time for perhaps the most disturbing match you'll see all night...if you have small children? You might need to send them in the other room.
[Renee Young] I don't even know if I can watch this...
[Corey Graves] This war of mind games is about to turn into a war that may just tear these two ladies apart. It's time...for the Greenhouse Deathmatch. We take you now to Peyton Royce's personal greenhouse, where Nikki Cross requested this match would take place.
The bell rings as Nikki Cross and Peyton Royce stand across the...ring? from each other. The ring is little more than a death trap in its own right, with no mats on the wooden 2x4s used to hold the ring together, and ropes replaced with what looks like thick, thorny vines. Weapons such as kendo sticks, tables, a wooden ladder and more surround ringside as Nikki Cross slaps her chest before charging at Peyton Royce!
Peyton screeches out as she immediately slides out of the ring, leading to a chase around ringside. The unhinged "Twisted Sister" giggling as she chased Mother Nature around ringside. However, Peyton grabs a kendo stick and strikes, hitting Nikki across the midsection, sending the Scot to her knees. Nikki groans as Peyton strikes once again, breaking the kendo stick across Nikki Cross's back!
[Corey Graves] Nothing there but Peyton Royce just outsmarting Nikki Cross. A well-timed assault with that kendo stick has Mother Nature's Favorite Daughter in control early on in this diabolical match.
Peyton Royce smirks as she plants a few boots to Nikki's back and midsection before fishing out from underneath the ring, pulling out two steel chairs. Peyton sets them up outside the ring before suddenly she's struck down by a chair shot to the back from Nikki Cross! Cross has a wild look of pure rage in her eyes as she uses the chair and drives the top of it repeatedly into the ribs of Peyton Royce!
Peyton is coughing loudly before Nikki places the top of the chair on her throat, trying to choke the life out of XWL's own Pamela Isley! The Twisted Sister of XWL has a psychotic grin on her face as she tries to suffocate Peyton Royce before Peyton kicks her away with a hard kick to the ribs. Peyton scrambles away as Nikki now fishes under the ring for an object. However, what she pulls out shocks the commentary trio calling this deathmatch...
[Mauro Ranallo] Oh...oh my god...
[Renee Young] What the hell...
[Corey Graves] That's a pane of glass!
Nikki Cross gleefully tugs the glass pane out from under the ring before draping it across the two chairs set up by Peyton Royce! Peyton Royce quickly crawls backwards away from Nikki, a shocked look on her face that Nikki would think of stooping to that sort of level.
Nikki Cross psychotically laughs before climbing back in the ring, as if daring Peyton to join her, Nikki turns around and drops down into a seated position with arms outstretched. Taunting Mother Nature's Favorite Daughter with her antics while wanting to torture her in this wicked war of mind games. Peyton eventually slides back in the ring and hauls off, kicking Nikki Cross square in the back of the head! Peyton goes for a cover, first one of the match, only getting past one before Nikki forcefully lifts her right shoulder off the canvas to break the pin.
Nikki immediately sits back up, giggling towards Peyton before asking if "that's all you got?" and continuing to laugh. Peyton shakes her head in disbelief before going to slap Nikki. However, Nikki catches Peyton's hand, grabs her ring finger and bites down hard on it! Peyton screams in agony as Nikki bites her finger, the Aussie quickly pulling herself away to tend to her newest wound, the camera zooming in on Nikki's teeth marks on the finger of Peyton Royce.
Nikki simply smirks before climbing back up to her feet, bouncing off the ropes and leaping into Peyton with a crossbody before beginning to fire off left and right hands, tugging her hair as she sits on her knees following the furious flurry of fists. The ravenous Scot climbs back up to her feet before diving back outside, going under the ring for more weapons to torture Peyton. However, Peyton goes to slide out to stop her, only for Nikki to pull the apron back and trap her between the apron and the edge of the ring! The Scot then proceeds to tee off on Royce, driving forearm after forearm directly into the chest, the neck, the jaw of Mother Nature's Favorite Daughter!
[Corey Graves] My god, Nikki Cross using Peyton Royce as her own personal punching bag!
[Renee Young] I'm just hoping this won't turn into Tyson vs Holyfield...Peyton Royce will end up looking like Cactus Jack if that happens.
After pummeling the hell out of Peyton Royce, Cross slaps her chest as Royce slumps to the floor. As she does, Cross reaches back under the ring, pulling out a table. Cross tries to set up the table, when suddenly she's blasted in the face by a fire extinguisher from Peyton Royce! Cross is blinded as Peyton hooks Nikki up, delivering a Fisherman's Suplex right onto the ground! Holding her in position, she looks to gain the victory but only gets a two count.
At this point, Royce is apoplectic, screeching and throwing a tantrum before she's suddenly rolled up by Cross for another quick two count. The Twisted Sister swiftly mounts Peyton Royce, firing right hands in her face to the point she's satisfied and crawls off of Peyton, bringing and setting the table up in the corner of the ring. Cross grins as Peyton crawls back into the ring, her nose busted from the combination of forearms and punches sustained during this wild brawl.
Cross is giggling and waves at Peyton Royce before tripping her up, looking to the referee before applying a Figure Four on Peyton! Peyton cries out as she desperately scrambles to reach the ropes, to reach the table, anything she can use to escape the clutches of the Twisted Sister. Peyton tries to slide out of the ring, but Nikki is able to keep the hold locked in, laughing as she clutches the ropes tightly. Peyton is practically on her head on the outside as she reaches and grabs a kendo stick, blasting Nikki across the face with it! However, Nikki simply shouts "FUCK YOU, YOU FUCKING CUNT!" before Peyton begins to wail away on Nikki with the kendo stick, blasting her multiple times across the head and face before Nikki collapses onto the mat, the hold finally released.
"You wish, you filthy little gremlin..." Peyton pants out as she uses the beaten and nearly busted kendo stick to get herself back to her feet. As she does, she looks behind her, seeing the pane of glass ominously waiting. Peyton's eyes widen before her lips curve into a wicked smirk. Sliding the ring apron up, she reaches under, grabbing a wooden board covered in...a thorn bush? What?
[Mauro Ranallo] What in the actual hell has Peyton Royce concocted here?
Peyton looks towards a dazed Nikki Cross before sliding the thorn bush board underneath the pane of glass! Licking her teeth with anticipation, Peyton takes her time in climbing up onto the apron. As she does, however, she's met with a stiff kick from Nikki Cross right into her abdomen. Doubled over, Royce is helpless as Nikki grabs her in a front facelock, turning and twisting her into position before spiking her with a Reverse DDT on the stripped ring!
Peyton is damn near lifeless as Nikki covers her, getting two and a half before Peyton drapes her foot across the bottom rope. The referee, in a lapse of judgment, awards her a rope break, forcing Nikki to release the pinfall attempt! Nikki simply shakes her head, muttering swears under her breath before pulling Peyton to her feet. As she does however, Peyton rises up, grabbing Nikki Cross by her hair and by the belt of her pants, charging towards the corner and sending Cross crashing through the table!
[Mauro Ranallo] Mama Mia! Nikki Cross was sent head first through that table by Mother Nature's Favorite Daughter!
[Renee Young] That just HAS to be it! I don't think either of these women have anything left!
[Corey Graves] You might think they have nothing left...but I'm sure both of these women think they have plenty left in the tank...it's just a matter of which one of them is right...
Peyton drops to her knees, physically and emotionally drained as Nikki Cross lays in a heap of mangled table, a cut forming on her forehead from a shard of wood slicing it during the horrendous demolition derby that was her crashing through said table. Blood begins to drip down Nikki's face as Peyton drapes her right arm over Nikki's body...
1....
2....
....
KICK OUT BY NIKKI CROSS!
[Corey Graves] How in the hell did Nikki Cross kick out of that!?
[Renee Young] Nikki Cross believes she has been possessed by the spirit of Sister April, the woman she loved...the woman Peyton Royce wanted so desperately to destroy...and judging by tonight, she could very well be right...
Peyton Royce simply rolls over on her back, panting, both women exhausted and battered by this horrendous deathmatch. Both women raise up to a knee, trading punches until both women land a punch at the same time, sending them both back down to the canvas. The referee begins a ten-count, but both women make it up at a count of eight. Both women use the thorn-like ropes to reach their feet, but Peyton makes the mistake of charging, causing Nikki to dodge, sending Peyton in the thorns covering the ropes! Peyton cries out in pain while Nikki takes the opportunity to twist and entangle the ropes so that Peyton is trapped in them, giving Peyton nothing but a view of the glass window pane and the wooden board covered in thorns below her!
Nikki grabs a kendo stick and rears back, swinging it like a baseball bat across the back of Peyton Royce! Peyton is screaming in agony and screaming for the referee to free her as Nikki absolutely destroys her back with the kendo stick! Welts and bruises forming on Peyton's back before Nikki slides the kendo stick between her legs, swinging it upwards and right into Peyton Royce's crotch!
Nikki licks her teeth as the referee finally uses, of all things, garden shears to free Peyton from her entrapment, cutting off the middle rope. Peyton clutches her back with one hand, the top rope with the other as Nikki Cross licks her right hand's fingers. With a sadistic smirk, Nikki jams her fingers down Peyton Royce's tights!
[Corey Graves] Nikki Cross is an absolutely sick human being! That's just disgusting!
Peyton screeches as Nikki digs her fingers within her tights and tries to scratch, claw, anything she can at Nikki Cross's face! However, she nearly loses her balance, just barely clutching the top rope to keep her from facing certain doom as the glass pane awaits below her. As Peyton tries desperately to maintain her grip, Nikki Cross twirls the kendo stick. Peyton looks up at Nikki Cross, pleading for Nikki to show her mercy, show her any sort of compassion. However, Nikki's face turns from a sadistic smirk to a cold, ice-like stare. With a bone-chillingly cold tone, Nikki utters the words that would seal Peyton Royce's fate.
"This is for April."
Peyton shakes her head vigorously, desperately trying to reason with Nikki Cross, but Nikki Cross is blinded with rage and pure, unadulterated hate. With one final swing of the kendo stick straight to the skull of Peyton Royce, Nikki Cross would accomplish her mission. Peyton Royce falls from the apron, almost in slow-motion, before crashing through the glass and directly into the thorn bush-covered board!
Mauro Ranallo] Holy SHIT!
[Renee Young] Oh my god!
Nikki slides out of the ring, staring down at the lifeless body of Peyton Royce. The Twisted Sister lifts up her right boot, stomping down hard on the chest of Peyton Royce, holding the kendo stick up in her right hand. The referee begins the count...
1....
2....
3!
[Corey Graves] J-Jesus Christ...someone call the paramedics. Peyton Royce is seriously hurt, guys.
While Nikki's music plays, however, she's not done. Lifting up the lifeless, prone form of Mother Nature's Favorite Daughter, she hauls her into the center of the ring, laying her out in the middle of the wooden 2x4-covered surface. Nikki then reaches under the ring, pulling out a toolbox. Opening it, she slides numerous objects into the ring, including duct tape and a book of matches. However, the last object Nikki pulls out sends the commentary team into an uproar...
[Corey Graves] What the hell is Nikki Cross doing with a can of gasoline!?
[Renee Young] No...Nikki, no...think about what you're about to do here...
Nikki's face is cold and stoic as she grabs the duct tape, ripping off pieces with her teeth before duct-taping Peyton Royce's wrists to the wooden boards forming the ring, leaving Mother Nature's Favorite Daughter completely helpless. Nikki then opens the can of gasoline, the powerful odor of the flammable liquid slowly causing Peyton to come to, only for her to realize she's trapped as Nikki circles around her, pouring out the gasoline in a circle shape around her!
[Corey Graves] Oh my god...oh my god...
[Renee Young] No no no no no...NO!
Nikki grabs the book of matches and strikes one, holding the flame above her head. "Time for you to burn." She coldly remarks before dropping the match into the gasoline, the ring lighting up like a Christmas tree in a circle of flames surrounding Peyton Royce!
[Corey Graves] Oh my god, call the goddamn cops! Peyton Royce is going to be burned alive in her own greenhouse!
Nikki uses the final object in the toolbox, a wrench and swings it at the glass door of the greenhouse, shattering it into pieces. Nikki steps through the broken glass and limps out into the grass field surrounding Peyton's greenhouse while the official grabs the fire extinguisher.
The last shot we see is Nikki Cross with a sadistic smirk on her face, the ring ablaze behind her as the referee desperately attempts to put the fire out with the fire extinguisher as we fade away into an advertisement for XWL's next special event, Final Stand.
Jericho and Chris are both standing on the top rung of the ladder before Chris grabs Gargano pulling him to his death as Jericho hits Gargano with a codebreaker.....THROUGH A FLAMING TABLE!
[Mauro Ranallo] I cant believe my eyes! they have to be dead!
Mauro's call rings true as both Chris Jericho and Johnny Gargano are laid out on the floor, both seemingly unable to make a move. This match has already taken everything out of both of these men, but somehow one of them will have to dig deeper to find something extra to give himself the edge.
[Renee Young] You said it Mauro, both of these men have dug so deep already, if only Chris could cover Gargano, this match would surely be over.
Regardless of what we will see or who will move next, it is clear that what has happened so far has at least entertained the live audience here in the Smoothie King Center, as it's not long before a “This is Awesome” chant breaks out, bellowing throughout the arena
[Corey Graves] Whatever you think of either of these men, you can't disagree with what these fans are saying!
Corey certainly has a point, as anticipation grows and grows of who will be the first to rise, who will be the first to strike, who is going to seize the opportunity that could decide which of these men remains world heavyweight champion? But just as all that is in the air, just as the arena is reaching a fever pitch, something happens.
[Corey Graves] What?
A shrill noise cutting through the air.
[Renee Young] Oh come on!
Something that at a time like this could almost be considered offensive.
[Mauro Ranallo] OH NO!
A sound that by itself sends the crowd here in Louisiana from a buzzing wave of excitement to a sea of boos. A sound that wasn't supposed to play tonight, shouldn't be playing tonight. A sound that could represent so many things depending on who you ask. The future. Wasted potential. Success. Failure. Greed. Hopelessness. What is it that has evoked so many images, provoked the fans and the commentators alike, and could possibly alter not just the rest of tonight, but the course of XWL as a whole?

It's none other than the theme song of Mr. Money in the Bank, Aiden English. A man who has held onto the briefcase through almost a year, through ups and downs, Rusev and the Cabinet, and even through a failed cash-in. But his theme song playing during a world heavyweight championship match can only mean one thing, whether the fans like it or not.
[Corey Graves] What!? there's no damn way. I cant believe he's cashing in right here tonight!
[Mauro Ranallo] In the middle of the damn match?
Sure enough, Aiden English bursts out from behind the curtain, with a more determined look on his face then we've seen from him before. Paying no mind to the boos and jeers he has grown accustomed to, he storms down to the ring, briefcase in hand. Aiden reaches the ring and stops, observing the two men still laying on the mat. He then resumes his quick pace , and circles around to the referee, and hands him the briefcase in a manner that can only be described as shoving it into his chest. Clearly no time is being wasted as English has set his sights on his goal tonight, and nothing will stand in his way. The ref seems confused on how exactly to handle Aiden cashing in during a match, but eventually seems to reach an understanding of what JBL will do to him if he doesn't acknowledge the cash in and walks over to JoJo before whispering in her ear. She nods and walks forward, mic in hand.
[JoJo Offerman] Ladies and gentlemen, Aiden English is cashing in his Money in the Bank.
Now that it's official, the crowd's boos grow even louder, but if he cares, Aiden doesn't show it.
[JoJo Offerman] As a result, this is now a triple threat match!
Aiden is already in the ring, stalking both Gargano and Jericho, waiting for the first one to begin to rise. The anticipation on his face is evident, as all of his normal theatrics have abandoned for at least this moment, as the only thing on his mind is the gold. What he's been after ever since winning the briefcase all the way back in March. What we've been reminded he doesn't have every time he appears with the briefcase. The object that could define his future. The first man to begin to rise is Chris Jericho, and Aiden English immediately focuses on sizing him up. Jericho slowly makes it to his hands and knees, crawling towards the ropes to try and help hoister himself up. Like a cat stalking a mouse, English slowly follows, ready to pounce. Jericho slowly pulls himself up with the assistance of the ropes, one at a time. Eventually, Jericho makes his way to his feet, dazed, seemingly unaware of the man waiting right behind him. But there is a man behind him. Aiden English. And he does not waste this chance. Aiden quickly grabs Jericho from behind and tries to turn him around, setting him up for a Director’s Cut. Turning him around proves easy due to the element of surprise, but actually hitting the move proves easier said than done. There is still some fight left in Chris Jericho, and he’s not giving up until all of it is gone. He struggles in the arms of Aiden English, looking to escape somehow. Aiden is clearly growing frustrated by this, as his attempts to pull Jericho in seem to not be making any progress. Eventually, Jericho manages to push Aiden off, and then….
[Mauro Ranallo] OH MY GOD!
...CODEBREAKER! Chris Jericho digs deep and manages to hit Aiden English with a Codebreaker from out of nowhere! Using this last burst of adrenaline, Jericho quickly flips over the body of Aiden English, and locks in the Walls of Jericho!
[Renee Young] Chris Jericho has the Walls of Jericho locked in! Will Aiden English tap?
As Renee asks the question, it seems the answer may be yes. Due to them being by the ropes, Aiden's only two options are to reverse the move or drag himself all the way across the ring to break the hold. And it doesn't seem as if he's making particularly good progress on either. Indeed, it seems as if he's completely stuck in the hold, with no reasonable way out. Will he tap? Is this how this story will end? What Aiden has been building to since March, the one thing on his mind? The longer he's in this hold the more it slips away but what else is there to do? Perhaps it's fitting, a tragic end for a man so obsessed with works of drama. Maybe he sees this irony. Probably not. He probably just feels the overwhelming pain in his legs as he avoids tapping out as long as he can. At this rate he's just praying for something. Anything. He needs something amazing to happen. Something out of nowhere. A miracle. Aiden English needs…..
[Corey Graves] SUPERKICK!
A saving grace. Johnny Gargano has seemingly jumped back up from out of nowhere and delivered a superkick straight to the side of the head of Chris Jericho. Yet while this moment may be impressive and exceptional, ultimately it is what dooms him. As knocking Chris Jericho back down to the mat hard frees up Aiden who quickly makes his way to Gargano and….
[Corey Graves] DIRECTOR’S CUT!
[Mauro Ranallo] NO!
This time Aiden manages to deliver his finishing move successfully, as Gargano falls back down as quickly as he got up. At first Aiden seems to be making a move to quickly cover Gargano, but stops. He thinks for a few seconds and then smiles, as it seems his more dramatic tendencies have finally kicked in. Aiden drags both the bodies of Gargano and Jericho to the middle of the ring, placing Jericho face down so his shoulders are not touching the mat, and then draping Gargano’s atop his.
[Renee Young] What is Aiden English doing?
Renee’s question is quickly answered, as Aiden makes his way over to the corner turnbuckles, and takes a step up to the middle rope. He points across the ring to the men and smiles, soaking in the moment. His moment. Finally here. After waiting some time, he finally leaps off the middle rope, delivering the same senton that he won his debut match with. “That’s a Wrap”. A fitting name for the possible end of Aiden English’s Money in the Banks saga. Quickly, he covers Gargano, placing himself atop both world champions.

[JoJo Offerman] Ladies and gentlemen, your winner, and the new World Heavyweight Champion, Aiden English!
Aiden leaps off both men and collapses onto the mat in tears of joy. He’s done it. The gold is his. As the crowd in attendance boos possibly the loudest they ever have, Aiden has no care. This is for him. He slowly makes his way back to his feet as a referee enters the ring with both championship belts in hand, and gives them to him. Without a moment of hesitation, Aiden English grabs the belt and hugs the referee, before making his way to the outside of the ring. He runs laps around the ring, giving hugs, shaking hands, and giving thanks. All of this being done to fans who despise the man, but again, it doesn't matter. Aiden English will have this moment the way he has meant it to be. After maybe the sixth of seventh time around the ring, Aiden English finally begins to make his way up the entrance ramp, title belts in hand. Once at the top of the ramp, Aiden bends over with a massive smile on his face, knowing that tonight will forever be remembered as his night. however, his celebration is not quite over as the fans continue to boo as another hated theme fills their ears.
