Main Event

Before XWL's Breakdown comes on the air, we get a brief video package of last night's PPV, X-Treme X-mas, the last PPV of 2013. The video package shows us some highlights of the night including Layla capturing the Divas Championship for the second time in her career, Shawn Michaels retaining the Intercontinental Championship, Antonio Cesaro's big win over Triple H for the United States Championship and Alberto Del Rio retaining his XWL World Heavyweight Championship in a gruesome cage match against The Miz. We then head to the arena where we get an overhead view of the sold-out crowd followed by a display of fireworks.



[Jim Ross]: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the final edition of Breakdown!

[Jerry "The King" Lawler]: That's right JR, this is the final show of the year and I'm sure every superstar and diva is looking to go out with a bang.

[Michael Cole]: Last night had to be one of the most extreme PPV's of the year, hence the name X-Treme X-mas. We saw a lot of matches where superstars put their bodies on the line.

[Jim Ross]: Earlier in the year, The Shield self-destructed with Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns turning on Seth Rollins only for Dean Ambrose to turn on the muscle of the group, Reigns. These three would face off last night and Ambrose would come out on top.

[Michael Cole]: I always knew he was going to be the breakout star of that group, he just had to get rid of the dead weight.

[Jerry "The King" Lawler]: Sangriento and Brock Lesnar would also go one-on-one in an I-Quit match and I have to admit, I had my doubts about this match knowing the huge size difference between the two men but Sangriento put a fight as long as he could but ultimately Don West would throw in the flag for his superstsr.

[Jim Ross]: What a match is was and now Sangriento is in main-event action against the Alberto Del Rio, the XWL World Heavyweight Champion who retained last night against The Miz. The Miz turned on his mentee, Alex Riley, saying he didn't need him and it came back to bite him. He might have needed some assistance last night.

[Jerry "The King" Lawler]: Last night had to be a shocking night for some as former Intercontinental Champion, John Morrison, turned his back on the XWL Universe with a vicious attack on Kofi Kingston. I'm sure everyone is wondering why Morrison attacked Kofi of all people? Could he have planned that attack beforehand? Who knows?

[Michael Cole]: Morrison didn't turn his back on the fans, they turned their back on him when he got injured and he was tired of being the nice guy obviously. A man can only take so much before he snaps.

[Jim Ross]: Well, whatever it is, I'm sure we'll get some answers soon. John Morrison will be in action tonight against James Storm. X-Treme X-mas didn't end just there, we saw two champions crowned. While Shawn Michaels was able to retain his title, Triple H would lose to Antonio Cesaro.

[Michael Cole]: Poor DX, certainly not how they wanted to head into the New Years. But last night, we saw another champion crowned after a special stipulation was placed on the match.

[Jerry "The King" Lawler]: General Manager Stephanie McMahon would place a stipulation on the Divas Tag Match with AJ Lee and Layla teaming up against Bailey and an unknown diva. Whoever picked up the pin in the match would be the new Divas Champion.

[Jim Ross]: Layla would rise to the occasion and pinned Bailey's partner to secure her second Divas Championship and I have to say I'm proud of that young lady. She came into 2013 stating that she'd be the Divas Champion and with hard work and determination, she's leaving 2013 as the Divas Champion. Congratulations Layla.

[Jerry "The King" Lawler]: Congrats Layla. Speaking of divas, we have Josh Mathews standing by with two of XWL's divas, who happen to be in their hometown tonight.

XWL's Breakdown heads backstage where Josh Mathews is accompanied by none other than The Bella Twins!



[Josh Mathews]: Ladies and gentlemen, at this time, I am standing by with the returning Brie and Nikki, The Bella Twins, and what a pleasure it is to have you two ladies back.

[Brie Bella]: Thanks a lot Josh.

[Nikki Bella]: I know we've been missed around here, it's obvious.

[Josh Mathews]: How does it feel to be back and competing in your first singles matches of the year since October? Well Brie, your last match was the Elimination Chamber which didn't end too well for you and Nikki, I believe you faced off against Paige.

[Nikki Bella]: Does it honestly matter who I faced, Josh? I'm sure I walked out as the victor of that match, I'm not even going to try to remember something as unmemorable as Paige. I've defeated Paige countless times, over and over, three count after three count. History repeats itself, doesn't it? Now to answer your question, I'm obviously happy to be back so I can reclaim my spot back to the top, after all, I did win the Queen of the Ring last year, I am still the reigning Queen.

Unusually, Brie takes a much more different approach from her sister and answers Josh quite calmly and seems much more enthusiastic...

[Brie Bella]: It feels so great to be back Josh and I finally get to be back in action. I've honestly been waiting for this moment for a long time. The last time I competed in XWL, I found myself on the receiving end of a bulldog from Maria and followed by a pin that would take me out of the running to be the number one contender for the Divas Championship. I can't honestly blame that loss on anyone but myself but I've gotten past that loss. I'm looking to make 2014 our year and to once again reclaim the Divas Championship, hopefully at the biggest PPV of them all, Final Stand.



[Josh Mathews]: As you saw last night, AJ Lee and Layla would team up to take on the team of Bailey and her partner but General Manger Stephanie McMahon would put an interesting stipulation on the match. The Divas Title was put on the line and whoever secured the pin would become the new Divas Champion and that happened to be one of your biggest rivals in this company, Layla. What was your reaction to Layla becoming the new Divas Champion?

[Nikki Bella]: What the...

[Brie Bella]: This is a family show Nikki...

[Nikki Bella]: Of course, I know. What I was going to say was I was honestly upset that I had to see the division fall another thousand steps because of Layla winning the title. It was bad enough that we had some lunatic named AJ, prancing around and talking to the Divas Championship, but now it's back in the hands of Layla. But I know this reign won't even last two months. I'll give her by Final Stand, where I make my big comeback and take the title away from her.

[Josh Mathews]: What about you Brie? I know you and Layla aren't too fond of one another.

[Brie Bella]: Well...

[Nikki Bella]: Well...

Just before Brie Bella can complete her sentence, we hear a pretty familiar female British accent in the background saying thank you to a crew member on her Divas Championship win. It's the new Divas Champion, Layla, and she's making her way down the hallway, not aware that an interview is going on. Nikki tells Brie, "I'll handle this" but Brie holds Nikki back and tells her that she'll approach Layla and that she can finish the interview up. Brie walks towards the sound of Layla's footsteps and catches the champion off guard, startling her in the process...






[Brie Bella]: Layla...

Brie then looks over to the Divas Championship over Layla's shoulder for a moment and then back at Layla...The champion seems a bit unsure as to what this is about, they're not exactly friends, but given the night Layla had last night she smiles at Brie ignoring their past.




[Layla]
Hey Brie...

Brie Bella looks at Layla one more time before taking a deep breath...



[Brie Bella]: Well, look, you and I haven't exactly seen eye to eye...actually we haven't seen eye to eye at all. Nikki and I have done some pretty mean things to you and you've returned the favor countless times. I'm pretty sure I've called you every name in the book but anyways...the new year is approaching, 2013 was the year where The Bella Twins versus Layla and Paige made headlines and not for the right reasons, we were at each others throats. Now that we're heading into 2014, I kinda want to start fresh. We've fought in brutal matches, bickered over and over and I know I'm getting tired of it. I'm sure you are too. I'm not going to say sorry because what has been said and done can't be reversed and I honestly don't regret anything, it's just how I am. I think it's time we put this feud to lay to rest. No more fighting, name calling or underhand tricks, just good, friendly competition for the new year. Don't you agree?



[Layla]
It would be nice to finally have a clean slate with everyone, that's all I've really wanted since I turned over a new leaf, to put petty differences aside and just have a mutual respect between every single woman here. We all come from different paths, we have different personalities, different things that make us tick, but at the end of the day, we're fighting for the same thing, what's best for this division.



[Brie Bella]:You're right, I mean even Nikki and I, the most alike in the division, argue at times because we're also so different. I'm glad we could come to an understanding. Also, congrats on your title win at X-Treme X-mas, I know you've wanted it for a while and you've finally gotten it. You did say you'd be champ by the end of the year, but now that I'm back, I want you to spend all the time you can with the title because it's coming back home to Arizona soon. *Brie begins to laugh* But again, congratulations Layla.



[Layla]
Aw, thanks hun. It's so crazy how it all worked out, handcuffed to her one second, and then taking her title the next. I guess it's true what they say, keep your friends close, but your enemies closer. To be heading into 2014 exactly as I hoped to, it's just...it's so surreal. When I first held The Divas Championship, I had no one to really celebrate it with, and now I've got people tweeting me congratulations, I've gotten several congratulatory baskets, and now I've got you putting the past aside to congratulate me, it means a lot. 



[Brie Bella]: Yeah I'm glad that we've gotten past the past. Well I just wanted to get that off my chest, I'll be getting back to that interview now. Have a good night.



[Layla]
You too, and tell Nikki I said hey, maybe we all can get together after the show, my treat?



[Brie Bella]: Sounds like a plan, I'll let Nikki know. Nice talking to you.

With that, Brie and Layla both smile at one another followed by a head nod. Layla continues walking down the hallway while Brie returns to the interview that has yet to be finished...



[Nikki Bella]: What took you so long Brianna? What could you possibly be talking to Layla about?

[Brie Bella]: We were just having a small conversation about this upcoming year...

[Nikki Bella]: Here's the thing Brie, WE don't like Layla, she's the enemy, you shouldn't be talking to her. She has something that we want, the Divas Championship. The only thing you should be telling her is how much you can't wait for her to fail as champion and how you're going to be taking that title in no time. Other than that, the least you should be doing is calling her a name.

[Brie Bella]: Calm down Nicole, the conversation wasn't even that serious. I just congratulated her on the title win, she deserves some credit.

[Nikki Bella]: ...you did what? Are you serious Brie? Do I need to repeat myself? There's no reason for you to be congratulating Layla. She made fun of us...

[Brie Bella]: We did the same...

[Nikki Bella]: Whose side are you on?

[Brie Bella]: Yours of course...

[Nikki Bella]: So act like it...

[Brie Bella]: We're sisters, you know I'm on your side before anyone else's but I've gotten tired of the back and forth. We didn't come to XWL to have catfights with every diva...

[Nikki Bella]: I can sit here and argue but I won't, I'm going to let it slide this one time. It's our first night back since October, the Bella Army has been waiting for this, there are bigger things at hand to focus on. We're back in Arizona and what better way to show that we haven't missed a single step than right here in our hometown. Well...close enough.

[Josh Mathews]: Well ladies and gentlemen, tonight we see Brie Bella and Nikki Bella compete in some singles competition tonight. Tonight should be a good night.

The camera fades to black as Brie and Nikki walk off the set and we head to the next segment...

[inb4 logic.]

The titantron comes to life with the image of a door. On the door is a plaque reading "Eric Young" on it. The man behind the camera sighs before slowly reaching a hand out and knocking on it. Almost suddenly, the door is whipped open and a gloved hand shoots out, snatching the camera man inside of the room.


EY turns to the camera man and puts a finger to his lips, shushing him. Eric looks out the door slowly, checking around to see if anyone else is there and then closes it and locks it. EY spins around, finding himself a helmet on the floor. He rushes over to the camera man and signals that he should put it on.

[Camera Man]
Eric, what are you-

Young turns around and slaps him, causing him to shut up.

[Eric Young]
You shut your mouth. You got a name kid?

[Camera Man]
It's Abraham, Eric. I need to ask you-

Eric slaps him again, sounding like a drill Sargent.

[Eric Young]
You're under my roof now Abraham. Shut it, or you'll give us away.

Eric drops to the floor and rolls over to his couch. He looks around and then waves Abraham over. Abraham casually walks over to Eric who scopes out his own locker room. Abraham sits down on the couch as Eric cautiously sits next to him.

[Eric Young]
So what are you in for, mate?

[Abraham]
I was given the ungodly pleasure, if you can even call it that, of conducting an interview with you.

[Eric Young]
I have a better idea.

With that, Young snatches the camera away, turning it around to reveal a tubby guy, wearing a "I <3 WRESTLING" t-shirt, waving to get the camera back. EY puts his foot to Abraham's chest, keeping him away from the camera.

[Eric Young]
WHERE WERE YOU ON THE NIGHT OF DECEMBER THE TWENTY SECOND?

Abraham finally frees himself of the foot, snatching his camera back and turning it to EY who sits on the couch, laughing to himself.

[Abraham]
Look! Stop it Eric! I am not here to play any games with you! I am here to interview you. Now, will you answer my questions.

Young nods and smiles at Abraham, looking willing to comply.

[Abraham]
Alright, so, what happened at X-Treme Xmas where you weren't able to complete your match?

Young smiles in response.

[Eric Young]
I don't know. You see, I went to go and do it, and the guy working the music and lights was like, "no, Chris isn't here." So, I suppose I just got stood up for my hot date. I really liked Chris too. I wanted to treat him right, and he left me.

Young frowns, not liking the way he was stood up.

[Abraham]
Alright. Well, tell me what you plan to do now?

[Eric Young]
Fight off the baddies!

Young rolls off of the couch and into the floor, pulling a pretend gun, shooting it at the door way.

[Eric Young]
Tat, tat, tat, tat, tat.

[Abraham]
STOP.

Young looks up at him, smiling again. Eric gets up, dusts himself off, and sits back down.

[Abraham]
I mean, creative wise, Eric.

[Eric Young]
I can draw!

[Abraham]
No, Eric. I mean wrestling wise. Do you have anything in mind for what you want to do?

[Eric Young]
Well, I mean.... I guess I'll wait to see what management has for me or just wait till someone wants to pick a fight. Though, I don't like fighting. I'm actually a pacifist, you know?

[Abraham]
Eric, you're a professional WRESTLER. How can you be a pacifist?

[Eric Young]
Are you making fun of my religion??

Young jumps up and flips the table in front of him over, huffing and puffing over the supposed insult.

[Abraham]
I am almost positive that being a pacifist, isn't a religion.

[Eric Young]
You don't know.

Young sits back down grumpily on the couch, crossing his arms and pouting like a five year old.

[Abraham]
Alright Eric, you know what? I'm done. I think I'm just going to leave.

Abraham stands up, heading for the door until he hears-

[Eric Young]
No, wait. I can provide real input for once.

He turns around, showing Young on the couch, laid back, hands lapsed over his chest, looking up toward the ceiling.

[Eric Young]
I think it's about time something different happened, Abraham. I've been sitting in the locker room, busting my ass for months now, or, er, when I can. I've had two instances now where my rival has went for the gold, regardless which of us won at our clash. I think it's about time that changed. I don't know what I am going to do creative wise, no. I do however know that I want management to take notice. I don't plan on sitting on the sidelines again for some jerk to go and fight for the gold. No. EY's time is here and now Stephanie. I can't help when people like Chris Hero show up late for the show. I can't help when creative has nothing for me. What I can help, is showing off what I can do in the business I love. Now, Abraham, can I go back to fighting off the baddies?

Abraham is speechless at the normality of the statement. Young stands up, pushing Abraham out the door and closing it behind him as the camera cuts off.

[Open to feedback as usual.]

Diva’s Match

In the final moments of this match, Del Rey drops Nikki with a roundhouse kick, turns around into a swinging neckbreaker courtesy of Eve, but before she can go for the win, Nikki knocks her out of the ring and gets the 3-count on Del Rey.

The Bella’s theme blaring through the speakers incites the crowd to rise up in a heated chorus of boos, although the homestate diva is getting some love from a noticeably large portion of the crowd, which is rare. Eve rolls out of the ring and marches up the ramp fuming as she screams out that she was robbed of the victory. Eve’s anger only brings pleasure to Nikki who cracks a big, proud smile as she orders The Ref to raise her hand in victory. The mixed reception continues, and some men can he heard doing cat calls as Nikki does her signature dance spin in the ring before leaving and making her way up the ramp. Before disappearing behind the curtain she cries out, “And this is the way it’s gonna be from here on out!”

The cameras cut back to the ring, focusing on Sara Del Rey who sits up in the ring and shakes her head in disbelief at the way that match ended. The Ref offers to help her up, but she declines his offer and instead falls onto her back then rolls out of the ring. She places her hands on her hips and looks out into the sea of people who are on their feet chanting “Welcome Back!” in support of arguably one of the top women competitors in wrestling. They’re happy to see her back in an XWL ring, though she doesn’t look too pleased with the way her return match played out. Dey Rey thanks the fans before beginning the long walk up the ramp…



Del Rey halts in her steps as a theme she never expected in a million years to hit, pours through the speakers eliciting a strong mixed reaction that leans more towards the positive side than it ever has before. Again, Del Rey places her hands firmly on her hips, remains standing on the middle of the ramp and gives the leader of The West Side Army, none other than Don West himself, a quizzical look when he steps through the curtains with none of the other members in tow.

Don West
Look what we have here: yet another woman who has come into XWL with dreams of achieving the pinnacle of success, with aspirations of leaving a legacy that can never be taken away from her and with an admirable goal of wrestling her heart out. But what are you left with, Sara? What have you actually accomplished here on this night? Can you look back years from now and smile because you’re proud that you lost? Will you call up your friends and family and tell them to watch the clip of this match on YouTube so they can congratulate you on not getting the job done? I don’t think so, and if I understand a competitor like you as well as I think I do, then you’ve already begun repressing the memory of that triple threat; yeah, you’re already in the process of scrubbing your memory banks clean because even though the old saying goes you’ve got to learn from your mistakes, both you and I, Sara… we both know you didn’t make any mistakes. You wrestled a flawless match but came up empty-handed because of the circumstances you were thrust into on your first night back in this company.

The camera cuts over to Del Rey who nods in agreement at the notion that she wrestled a flawless match and that the loss was not a reflection of her skill level.

Don West
If you wrestled a singles match against Nikki Bella you would have broken that twig in half and if you wrestled a singles match against Eve Torres you would have kicked that pretty little face of hers so hard that she would have booked the next flight to L.A. to get some cosmetic work done. But what did XWL do? They threw you in a match against both of them at the same time, as if you were nothing more than an after-thought. They decided to put you in a match where you pretty much had a bullseye on you from the moment you defiantly stepped through that curtain ready to take on the world because they saw you as a threat: a woman who knows what she’s doing in the ring, a woman who is well-traveled, well-conditioned and well-prepared to take what’s hers – and so they ganged up on you knowing that they were stronger together than alone and it took their combined might, executed as a sneak attack no-less, to take you out, and look at you… you’re already back on your feet making it clear that their best will never be good enough.

The crowd cheers both for West’s words and Del Rey’s resiliency, though some scattered boos can still be heard, and West waits for them to settle down before he continues.

Don West
The question is, though, when will XWL give you a chance to show them you best? Because if you ask me, Sara, you got the short end of the stick here tonight. When a woman like you shows up in a company like this, they should be treating you like royalty… you’re the Queen of Wrestling for Christ sake! When someone like you comes to a company like this, they should be hyping it up the wazoo. I’m talking about your face on billboards, advertisements airing on primetime television, highlight packages of your career airing on Breakdown and instead of these nonsense matches they’d rather book. Instead, they snuck you in here and stuffed you into a match with two women beneath your skill level in what was basically a handicap match, and because you’re not as established here your complaints and demands to be given the respect you deserve will fall on deaf ears. Then again, maybe you’re too proud to complain, but it’s the squeaky wheel that’s gets the grease and you may think you can reach success on your own, but what are you going to do when you reach for it just to find out there’s nothing to grab because they never bothered dangling a prize in front of you in the first place?

West pauses for a moment to gauge how Del Rey’s reaction and when he see that she’s still with him he carries on speaking.

Don West
Sara, you’re a grown woman, you’ve been all over the world, you’ve had your ups and downs in this business so I’m not going to beat around the bush here, I’m going to be straight with you on this one. You see, the truth is Sara, right now XWL doesn’t give a damn about you! They’ve made it this far without you being a prominent figure in their diva’s division, and they think they can go even further without you and it’s time you put your foot down and make them see that they need you! Do you not see the other women surrounding you in this division? Do you not see that you’re heads and tails better than each and every one of them? But it’s not always about skill, if it were, The West Side Army wouldn’t have had such a miserable time trying to scrape together a run that we can be proud of, yet the thing about skill is that you can’t suppress it and when it’s combined with potential all you can do is watch in awe as things unfold before your very eyes that you never thought possible. They can hold you back, Sara, they can try to make it impossible for you to make a name for yourself here, but at the end of the day the only one stopping you from reaching your legacy is yourself.

As West’s shifts his sell to a more aggressive tone, Del Rey’s expression turns serious as West’s words hit hard though she can’t deny that they ring true.

Don West
I’m out here to help you help yourself by offering you a spot in The West Side Army. If you align yourself with me, I promise you that your career will never be the same, and let’s be honest for a second here, can it really sink any lower than it is right now? People like Paul Heyman would lead you to believe that I don’t care about my clients, or that having me as a manager would be the kiss of death for you and all that you toiled for years to build, but he’s wrong. From day one I’ve done nothing but improve the lives of my clients. I made Amazing Red into a star, I helped Melina make Michelle McCool’s life a living hell, I gave Corey Graves and Ryback a shot at the Intercontinental Championship, I brought Sangriento from Mexico and made him an International star, and then there was Kharma. I’m sure you’ve heard this all before through the grapevine, Sara. The tale of how, in a single night, Kharma ended more careers than you can count one hand, a feat that had never and will never be done before. It was because of me that Kharma finally was able to unleash her inner beast and I can help you do the same, Sara.

Del Rey grins as fantasies of her being in Kharma’s shoes on that epic night run through her mind. Is that what she wants? Can West really get her to that point?

Don West
If you join me, Sara, I can make sure that you are never ignored or taken for granted again. If you stand by my side I will always do everything in my power, everything humanly possible to see to it that you are never given less than what you deserve. All I ask for in return is that you stand by me and the others and together we will be an even bigger force to be reckoned with. But I can see it in your eyes, there’s still doubt and I can understand why you’d be a little weary because I do remember that the last time you aligned yourself with someone else is was to join The Kings of Wrestling and that brought you absolutely nowhere. This have changed now, I only want what’s best for you. I’m not a wrestler, I’m not looking to steal the spotlight from you I’m out to make sure it stays on you from now until the day you, just like Kharma, decide that you’re satisfied with what you’ve done. Forget everything that’s happened to you in this place before, think of fresh start, your XWL career is a now a blank canvas and how the final picture turns out will all depend on how much faith you place in me. If you want to do be remembered as someone who made an impact here, then all you need to do is take my hand and let me handle things from here.  

West sticks out his hand, looks Del Rey right in the eye who remains on the bottom of the ramp. The crowd is mixed on this one. Part of them are screaming out “Please don’t do it!” While others are just as vocal as they call out for her to “Shake his hand!” As Del Rey finals begins to put one foot in front of the other to take her up to the stage, she only has a few seconds now to make her decision. Can she really carry on like this? If she declines West’s invitation is tomorrow really guaranteed for her like it is for the other women here?

She has seemingly made up her mind as she stands face to face with the man who has offered to turn things around for her. Does he really have all the answers, or will his “help” be the managerial equivalent to a placebo pill? West must recognize that she’s still unsure as he says one final thing to reel her in: “What do you really have to lose at this point?”

Realizing that he’s right, that while she may have been a big name elsewhere, she’s a nobody in XWL, Del Rey shakes his hand, and the half and half reaction that West is able to draw at will intensifies as he cracks a smile and tells Del Rey that she “won’t regret this.” As Del Rey’s them hits, West escorts her to the back and the last thing he can be heard saying is “Let me introduce you to the boys. Trust me, you’re gonna love it here.”

You know, I was going to do something big for this but I'm pretty lazy right now and don't want to forget to post this later.

Anderson reverses the Angle Slam, rolling off the shoulder and hooking the arm, hitting the Mic Check for the three count.

As we return from commercial break, we head to the backstage area where we see Dolph Ziggler performing one of his famous handstands

Uhm, Dolph

The startled Ziggler almost loses his balance as he hears a voice come from behind him, but he manages to regain his balance and prevent the fall before flipping himself back up onto his feet. He turns around to see Josh Mathews staring back at him.

Dolph Ziggler
Is there something wrong with you? Do you have the slightest idea how dangerous it is to interrupt a man when he's in the zone like that? No, not at all! It's just that, well, I've never seen someone meditate like that before, aren't you meant to cross your legs and arms or something? Isn't that how it's usually done?

Ziggler rolls his eyes and scowls at Josh.

Who cares how it's usually done? Meditation is an art and no piece of art is ever the same, I find it much more relaxing to perfrom a handstand than to sit with my legs crossed, is that a suffice enough explaination for you?

Yes, I'm sorry Dolph, it was never my intention to agitate you, just with it being the thirtieth of December, I was hoping I could get your final thoughts on 2013.



Dolph Ziggler
There's no doubt that 2013 was the greatest year of my career so far. I competed in highly anticipated matches, I had one of the biggest rivalries of the year with Dean Ambrose, a feud that I single handedly carried him through, earning myself a slammy award for the match of the year. The brutal ladder match at Uprising which I would have won if it weren't for those forgettable faces who tried to make an impact, who tried to steal my spotlight, but failed spectacularly and faded into the past while I went on to make history, capturing my first ever World Heavyweight Championship, defeating not only Dean Ambrose, but also the man that no one could beat, the king of the ring twenty-thirteen, and of course the undeserving superstar of the year, Chris Jericho. I put an end to his championship reign. And now, now I'm entering into the new year with all of that, plus a victory over the greatest man that ever lived. I think that's a pretty damn impressive year I've had.

Ziggler looks confident in himself with a smirk slapped across his face.

There's no denying you've had a great year, Dolph, but what do you see for yourself in the upcoming year?

Dolph Ziggler
Well like you said Josh, it's December thirtieth today, that marks the final Breakdown of 2013. It's a chance for every single superstar here to put their past mistakes behind them and to look on into the future, hoping and praying that twenty-fourteen will be their year, that they get the opportunity to showcase their talents, to break through the glass roof and reach the main event status that they've always dreamt of reaching. Well... At least that's what it is for the other superstars, but for me? It's a chance to crush the dreams of those superstars as I bring their world crashing down upon them and destroy their any hope of ever becoming a household name, while I continue my path to glory as the best main event attraction this show has ever seen and will ever see. You see, unlike the hapless roster of talentless fools that I'm forced to associate myself with, I don't need to worry about my position in the company, I already know that I'm an indispensable asset and what 2014 holds for me is a long lasting championship reign.

Ziggler looks even more confident now.

So you have your eyes set on a championship? Any championship in particular that you're aiming for?



Dolph Ziggler
Honestly it doesn't matter to me whether it's the Intercontinental Championship, the United States Championship, the World Heavyweight Championship or even the Divas championship, because quite frankly, the championship doesn't matter, I mean it's almost as irrelevant as Randy Orton's career. All that truly matters, all that anyone ever really takes notice of is the man behind the championship, and that's exactly how it should be. I mean Shawn Michaels' United States Championship and Intercontinental Championship reigns eclipse anything that any World Heavyweight Champion has done in the history of this company. If that isn't a testament to my point, I don't know what is. That's what I want, I want to give the people an even bigger reason to remember me by, and to make sure that they never ever forget me, and what better way to do that than to defeat every single superstar who enters that ring with me?

Ziggler stands silently, waiting for Josh to answer him, but as soon as Josh utters a word, Ziggler cuts across him.

It's a trick question, there isn't one Josh. The year that Dolph Ziggler's about to have is going to overshadow anything that any other superstar or diva in the history of this company has ever managed to achieve. Don't believe Chris Jericho when he tells you that this is year is going to be his year, because it's clearly going to Dolph Ziggler's year to...

Ziggler flicks his hair back with his fingers.

Just as Ziggler is done speaking, Vickie Guerrero appears from the left and taps him on the shoulder, he turns around to face her. She smiles at him and he smiles back before turning to Josh.

Breakdown returns backstage to see the former Divas Champion AJ Lee, looking off into the distance then begins talking...to herself

Did you see what she did to me? She took away my Divas Championship, she took away my life. That is My championship, it is my possession and she took it away...she took my championship...My Pride, My Joy. Everything I had ever worked for! All taken...because of Stephanie McMahon..

As she mentions the name of the General Manager, the hate is clear to see as AJ almost cringes after mentioning her name

Stephanie McMahon...Who does she think she is? Look what she did to me! It's all her fault...It's her fault that I'm not standing here with my Divas Championship. I was finally free... I was finally unhand-cuffed from Layla...Then all of it was taken away from me. I was on the winning team, Layla wouldn't have even had the chance to get the pin if it wasn't for me, I should be standing here still the divas champion...Infact, I am the true Divas Champion. Layla might have that sparkly title, but I am the real champion. It doesn't matter if I don't have the championship, I don't need that to be a champion.

The anger on AJ's face is clear to see, but suddenly the mood changes as she goes from raging anger to almost a blank expression,almost asif she is in a trance

I will get my revenge on Layla, one way or another... I don't care if Stephanie McMahon tries to stop me, I will reclaim my divas championship. I will not let my dreams come to an end like this...I can't let it happen like this. I deserve that championship..Layla doesn't deserve to hold my precious championship, Did you see what I did to her at November to Remember? and now...She has my championship.

AJ suddenly appears to breakdown as she stares down to the floor, she stands still on the spot and begins to shake but her mood suddenly changes



what appears to be a breakdown turns to manic laughter, as AJ just rocks back and forth laughing ,leaving the XWL universe to once again ask themself, what is going on inside the mind of AJ Lee
