*As Redemption continues Kevin Kelly is stood by backstage*Kevin Kelly: Ladies and gentlemen last week we heard that The Show Off Dolph Ziggler will be taking on The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels at November to Remember in a two out of three falls match, due to the questionable outcome of their match at The Monster Bash. Then in the main event last week on Redemption The Show Off came up short in his efforts against Brock Lesnar, the same man Shawn Michaels will go one on one with later tonight, whereas Dolph Ziggler will once again feature in the main event when he faces long time friend and rival of Shawn Michaels in Triple H.
*At that moment the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels walks into camera shot and begins talking to Kevin Kelly*Shawn Michaels: And I'm sure Hunter will get on just fine tonight and walk through Ziggler just like everyone expects, just like how I will do the same at November to Remember in two out of three falls, I just hope nobody gets their hopes up because we ALL know that the match won't make it to the third fall, that's if Dolph even makes it past tonight.
*Shawn smirks to himself as he snots derivatively*Shawn Michaels: As for me on the other hand, it's not really a question on whether I get through tonight, it's more of a question of how fast can Shawn Michaels get out of this Pitt and back to civilisation, away from all of these harebrained idiots in the arena tonight.
*When Shawn insults Pittsburgh the camera picks up boo's coming from the crowd*Shawn Michaels: Now everybody knows how dominant Brock Lesnar has been recently, and sure, maybe he deserves some credit but that's then and this is now and now he's stepping into the ring with THE MAN, and that's a step up I know he's not ready to take. So after the show ends, he can go back home to his wife, just like everybody else has gone back home with his wife and he can know he got to go toe to toe with the HB Kid. And just like everyone previously, he will know that coming up short against Shawn Michaels is nothing to be ashamed of, and even though Brock has been known for his "performance issues" in other aspects of his life, I can assure you even if you were running at 100% it still wouldn't be a close contest.
*As Shawn finishes he sentences Kevin Kelly butts in with a question*Kevin Kelly: But Shawn don't you think you're selling Brock a bit short? You've never faced a man as big, as strong and as agile as him, Brock Lesnar is undoubtedly a dangerous man who has the ability to end careers in a heartbeat and you don't seem to be taking him seriously at all.
Shawn Michaels: Kevin, listen up. I'm not afraid of Brock Lesnar and I have no reason to be.
*The two men stand there for a moment in silence until Kevin Kelly eventually pushes Shawn for more information*Kevin Kelly: Ok then Shawn, but what about Dolph Ziggler? At The Monster Bash he took you to a tie and he was defeated by Lesnar last week, what's to say you don't wind up with the same fate?
*Shawn blows Kelly's opinion off by snorts again and looking away from him*Shawn Michaels: Please, Kevin, if you're not going to take this interview seriously then I might as well just go right now.
*Shawn then stares at Kevin Kelly clearly bored of the interview and as he stares at him in silence for a moment until Kevin Kelly bucks up the courage to ask another question*Kevin Kelly: Er, ok. Lastly Shawn before you go, next week is the annual Slammy awards and you find yourself nominated for two awards, Champion of the year for your historic reign as United States champion and the coveted Superstar of the Year, and last year there were in fact joint winners of Superstar of the year, former World champion The Rock and then current champion CM Punk, your thoughts?
*Shawn rolls his eyes back clearly not even attempting to entertain the suggestion of The Rock or CM Punk being compared to him*Shawn Michaels: My thoughts on what exactly? Do I belong in the same category of those two?.. No, quite simply I don't belong in the same category as The Rock OR CM Punk, no no, I'm in my own category, they might be the so called elite of XWL but Shawn Michaels is on another level. So you're asking me if I think that Slammy is coming home with me, probably not, you know just how good I am, just like all these nimrods here tonight, if they know one thing it's that Shawn Michaels is THE MAN, but are they going to vote me in as the Superstar of the year? I doubt it, knowing them and how stupid they really are I expect someone like Ted DiBiase who doesn't even work here anymore to receive the Slammy via FedEx sometime next week even though he hasn't done a damn thing to deserve it, ask the boys in the back and it might take a lot of get it out of them but they know it's true, I know it's true even Dolph Ziggler and his mother knows it's true, Shawn Michaels is simply in a league of his own, and whoever takes that Slammy home, they'll know it as well, that the real Superstar of the year is standing right here, the Showstopper!
*The crowd boo as Shawn begins to rattle off his many nicknames*Shawn Michaels: The Icon!
The Headliner!
The Mainevent!
The Heartbreak Kid!
*Shawn smirks as the crowd continue to boo him then after a short pause he speaks again*Shawn Michaels: Shawn Michaels is the ONLY logical choice for Superstar of the year.
Kevin Kelly: And what about champion of the year?
Shawn Michaels: Who else is there to vote for? I'm the longest reigning United States champion in XWL history and the only reason I lost it was because I was screwed out of it by a mental patient in a suit, and just look how far the belts gone down hill since then. Not only am I THE CHAMPION OF THE YEAR, I am the champion that this company sorely needs, I am the champion of champions and the first time I get the recognition I deserve and am finally rewarded the chance I've deserved for over a year that being a one on one World Heavyweight championship shot I will be beginning a legacy as the soon to be greatest World champion this company will EVER see,
*As HBK walks off screen the camera's slowly fade out to black as the segment ends*
