XWL Redemption 1/8/2011 - 1/15/2011

Redemption opens up with the lights dimmed and a spotlight in the center of the ring. This Hawaiian crowd is chanting, "WHAT THE HELL?!" over and over again until Sin Cara enters into the spotlight, and then a huge "LET'S GO CARA!" chant breaks out. Cara raise his X-Treme Championship high above his head while the crowd cheers him on, and after he's doing soaking in his reaction, he sets his title on the turnbuckle and grabs a mic from the tech guy........


Sin Cara: Buenas tardes a todo! How's everyone doing here in Honolulu! I hope you're all ready for a amazing night because we have some great matches on the card. We got the undefeated Mason Ryan going against "The One Man Southern Rockband" Heath Slater. Then there's "The Best in the World" CM Punk going one-on-one with "The Champ" John Cena. Another great match should be Redemption resident savior Chris Jericho fighting "The Prince of Air" Evan Bourne in which both men are determined to prove that they still have it. Our main event is gonna be Ted DiBiase taking on one half of "The Awesome Truth", R Truth. And then there's MY match, which is the real reason I'm out here. As you all know, I am not a Redemption superstar, so I'm sure you all want to know what I'm doing here tonight. Michael McGillicutty is my reason for being here tonight. I've been informed by the XWL officials that I have to defend my title sometime this week because they were impressed by what he did to me last week on the special New Years edition of Breakdown. After I got to Honolulu a few days ago I started thinking to myself and I said, "Cara, if Hennig Jr can jump you on your turf, then what's stopping you?" So, earlier today I came and talked to Vickie Guerrero about scheduling the X-Treme title match for here tonight live on Redemption, and she thought that would be a great idea to make this great episode of Redemption that much better. I hope your ready XWL fans because I'm gonna show McGillicutty why my hombres call me "The Mexican Sensation".

Sin Cara drops his mic and throws his shirt out into the crowd for a lucky fan, and starts to head back up to the locker-room when he stops to get a shot with a few fans.....



Redemption leads into the next segment with a promo on Evan Bourne........

We come back from a commercial break, Michael Cole stands up out of his seat at the announcers table and picks up a microphone that was on the table. He takes off his headseat.

[Michael Cole] May I have your attention please?

A huge amount of heat is given towards Cole, he simply shakes his head and starts to walk towards the steel steps. He gets onto the apron and steps into the ring.



[Michael Cole] I have some very important news for you all, this is going to change the course of XWL as we know it. A few weeks ago when facing Ted DiBiase, our beloved Miz sustained a back injury.

The crowd immediately begins to cheer at the announcement. Cole seems frustrated at the fans delight to this.



[Michael Cole] Now now, I know that deep down you're all hurting. It's not good to bottle up your emotions like this, let it all out! Real men cry, trust me. Ted, I know that you're the one who hurt Miz. I talked to Miz after the match and he knew he was hurt, but Miz, he's a fighter. He got tests done and he was diagnosed with Spinal disc herniation, he could miss many months of in ring action due to this. He's going to miss Final Stand for crying out loud! How is he supposed to finally climb the mountain, The Miz is one of the most athletically gifted superstars in XWL and all thanks to Ted DiBiase. It's all gone! Ted, you are a brute! You're providing an unsafe working enviroment for us all, you're just as bad as Kevin Steen. You're an absolute poor excuse for a wrestler, you should be fined or fired for your actions! But atleast The Miz, being the true fighter he is, went through with his match with The Undertaker at X-Treme X-Mas. The Miz went out of his way for the fans, you fans! He put his life on the line to teach The Undertaker a lesson, and boy did he!

The fans are still boo'ing Cole, they obviously don't care about what he's talking about.



[Michael Cole] There is one thing I want you people to do for me right now, I know The Miz is watching at home. While he's on the sidelines I think you should all show appreciation for the most must see superstar in XWL history by getting him trending on Twitter! Yeaaaah! I want all of you tweeters right now to get #GETWELLMIZ trending, how'bout it?! Let's get a chant going, come on guys!

Cole starts clapping his hands while shouting "Get well Miz!" over and over, after nearly a minute of trying. The fans start to cheer "Get out Cole!" Cole gets frustrated and brings the microphone back to his mouth.

[Michael Cole] You all think you're hilarious don't you? A bunch of comedians in Hawaii! Well the joke's on you! When The Miz is gone you'll all notice how much you miss him, he'll have a hero's welcome to XWL when he's back. Just you wait! I'd personally like to wish The Miz a well and speedy recovery, and as a little tribute I've had a video made in your honour. Thank you very much for your time, enjoy the video.

*The crowd booos loudly as the camera fades to Chris Jericho.*



*After that the camera zooms out so both Jericho & Grisham are in the camera view, then Grisham goes to ask his first question.*

Now Chris, I got a question for you...

*Suddenly Jericho interrupts Grisham before he can ask his question.*

No, I got a question for you, Todd.... What is your opinion of Evan Bourne?



{Todd Grisham}
Well, Chris, he's a former World Heavyweight Champion and his high flying ability is really spectacular and he always impresses the fans including myself with his creative moves.



{Chris Jericho}
Do you think he deserved to become a World Champion?



{Todd Grisham}
He earned a match for the World Championship and won that, so I think that he indeed deserved to hold the World Heavyweight Championship, Chris.



{Chris Jericho}
I think this proves my point that you have no clue about this buisness and the very prestige of that World Heavyweight Championship and if you ever dare to call me Chris again, I will punch you right in your mouth, do you understand me? It's Mr. Jericho to you, I'm not one of your hypocritical friends!... But lets go back to the topic, the World Heavyweight Championship was made to be held by the greatest Superstars that this industry has ever seen, then there is Evan Bourne who luckily wins the Championship somehow and destroys the prestige that this Title used to have. Evan Bourne did not deserve to become World Heavyweight Champion. He should have never been allowed to compeat in the Main Event in the first place. He is just another high flyer who tries to steal the show with his moves, and that's it. He wasn't worthy enough to win that Title, but finally the management realised what they caused and put Bourne back in his place. Fact is that we face off here in a new division, but that doesn't mean that I am in the league of nobodies where Bourne is stuck in, right now. I am better than all of these Superstars in the back including the United States Champion himself. In fact I am better than all of those parasites that make up the audience here tonight.

*The crowd boos loudly as Jericho smirks and continues to speak.*

These liars probably already failed their New Year's resolutions by now, but my New Year's resolution still lives. My New Year's resolution is to save this division and that's exactly what I'm gonna do, Todd. Everything I say turns out to be the truth. And the truth is that I am going to become the United States Champion. The truth is that I am going to save this division from what it has become. The truth is that I'm gonna annihilate Evan Bourne tonight and prove to the whole world that Evan Bourne is nothing more than a high flyer who will never have the opportunity to ruin the prestige of any Title, ever again!

*Jericho turns his attention to the camera.*

I know you're watching, Bourne, and I just wanted to inform you that you're gonna pay for interrupting and disrespecting me last week in Toronto. Tonight I'll do that final step that's gonna ban you into the world of nobodies for the rest of your pathetic career! You're gonna get exactly what's coming to you here tonight. You dared to get into that ring with me and now you got to pay the price for it. Last week, I already proved that I am the superior man between us two by countering your Airbourne into a Codebreaker which shocked the entire audience. I walked to the back standing tall while you were laying broken and beaten in that ring. And the same fate will happen again here tonight when Evan Bourne once again fails to bring down Chris Jericho, the best in the world today!

*The crowd loudly boos Jericho as the camera slowly fades off.*

Evan Bourne versus Chris Jericho here tonight! Two former World Champions will battle! Jericho seems to be prepared to step into that ring with Evan Bourne.

{Joey Styles}
Jericho shouldn't underestimate Bourne. Bourne is one hell of an athlete and if Jericho loses his focus in that ring, this match could end very quick!

{Michael Cole}

*Redemption returns from commercial and is taken backstage where Michael McGillicutty is in a similar setting like the week prior, still with an unmanned camera.*



McGillicutty: Last Week was arguably the best week I've had in XWL. Not only did I defeat a very game Kofi Kingston, I also sent a message to the current X-treme Champion, Sin Cara. How you may ask, but hitting my infamous McGillicutter on a steel chair. Just like I told Kofi last week, don't take me lightly because when you least expect it, you will fall prey to a McGillicutter like everyone before you. So Sin Cara, listen closely, you will lose the title that you have won at X-treme X-mas but don't fret, at least you will know that you lost it to the better man. Fate has lead me to this moment, fate will lead the XWL into a new era, an era that will be known as “The Genesis of McGillicutty.” Tonight will mark the first victim of the new era, an era that begins right after I win the X-treme Championship. Before the night is over, Sin Cara... you will be Sin Title. #NewX-tremeChampion



McGillicutty: The best thing about tonight is that I, Michael McGillicutty, will be the face of the X-treme division. The members of this division will now have pride knowing that the greatest third generation superstar to ever grace a wrestling ring will lead them to heights it has never seen before. It's a shame Sin Cara, you will be forever known as the person with the worst title reign in the history of XWL. I guess that's why you wear a mask, preparing yourself for this inevitable moment.



McGillicutty: What I don't understand is how you can pander to these ingrates, is it because they wear a cheap replica of your crappy mask, is it because they cheer your name, or is it because, just like you, they spent their lives living in mediocrity. I mean seriously, there are more than enough people who want the crowd to cheer for them, playing the good guy, when in reality all they are doing is falling victim to peer pressure because they want to fit in a certain crowd. This is why I act like I do, because I refuse to fall victim to them. By booing me, they hope to turn me into a mindless robot who will jump when they say so. I'd rather be booed for being myself than be cheered for being something I'm not. The sooner you realize this Sin Cara, the sooner you will open your eyes and be your own man, a man who can do what he wishes without having to worry whether if these people cheer or boo you. But until then you, just like everybody else in that locker room who wants these ingrates to cheer for them, are my enemy and will be treated as such.



McGillicutty: The amount of people I've beaten should be an indicator of how much of a threat I am to your championship. I've defeated Frightmare, Ted DiBiase... twice, DH Smith, Evan Bourne, and just recently, Kofi Kingston. And after our match tonight, your name will be added to the ever-growing list of superstars who have fallen to the McGillicutter. I'll be honest with you Sin Cara, I don't hate you, I just hate the fact that you have what I want, the X-treme Championship. Unlike my last couple of opponents, you will not have the advantage going into this match because I have finally had a chance to fully heal from my endeavors with Ted. That right, I am finally at 100%. When the bell rings, the time for talk will be over and the war among us will begin. Trust me when I tell you, I will walk out with the championship and you will leave with your pride ripped into shreds. You, everybody else in the back and every man, woman, and child around the world will remember the name Michael McGillicutty.

*Michael, just like last week, rises from his seat and turns the camera off. Just then, Redemption goes to a video package for Michael's opponent tonight and the current X-treme Champion Sin Cara.*

*As Redemption continues the cameras cut to earlier in the day in the arena lobby as Kelly Kelly is stood above the floor with THQ's community manager Tank*



THQ Tank: Ladies and gentlemen, I am THQ's community manager Tank, and we are here in the Neal S. Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii, the site of XWL's Redemption this week, where we are giving the XWL fans a chance to sample our latest games. Such as the up and coming UFC Undisputed 3, the critically acclaimed Saints Row the Third and of course XWL '12, and an exclusive look of the upcoming fighting game XWL Brawl! As well as a chance to interact with some of the Superstars and Diva's of the XWL, such as the person by my side right now, XWL Diva Kelly Kelly.

*Tank turns to Kelly as he continues talking*

THQ Tank: Now Kelly Kelly, you had the chance earlier to look a few of the booths earlier, what did you think of them?

Kelly Kelly: Yeah, they all look great, our game XWL '12 looks amazing, it's been selling really well and it was such an improvement of last years game. Everything looks a lot better and it flows really well, you guys really did a great job with it.

THQ Tank: Thanks. Now the other week we saw you enjoying the game until Natalya interrupted you. Do you play a lot of videos games on your time off?



Kelly Kelly: I don't really have the chance too, I tend to keep really busy, whether it's wrestling or modelling so I don't really have a lot of down time, but I do try to get some time of to check the new game out every year.

THQ Tank: Well have you had a chance to see any of the other games we have here today, like Saints Row or UFC Undisputed?

Kelly Kelly: I'm not really a UFC fan, but a lot of the boys are, so I took a little peek whilst they were playing and the attention to detail is amazing, like when their eyes get really puffy and they get cut just above the eyebrow and it sounded real good to, the crowd really get into the fights and the commentators get all excited, it's a lot like an actual UFC show, they really went all out.



THQ Tank: Now stepping away of video games for a minute, at X-Treme X-Mas you once again defeated Natalya Neidhart after a few months of her interrupting you in your matches and ruining your Maxim cover reveal, how does it feel to finally get rid of Natalya?

Kelly Kelly: It hasn't been the easiest few months obviously, after beating Natalya in my Redemption debut she saw fit to try and get revenge on me and when I beat her again she decided to run around claiming that I cheated to beat her at November to Remember and demanding to get a rematch two weeks later which she beat me in when she actually did cheat when she had her feet on the ropes, and through all of it she tried to make me feel like dirt, and two weeks ago at X-Treme X-Mas I proved her wrong once again and proved all my doubters wrong who said I don't belong in a wrestling ring.

THQ Tank: But you couldn't continue your momentum last week and you fell short against Miss Money in the Bank Layla and later on tonight you will go one on one with Maryse. Judging by the calibre of your competition people are beginning to take you more seriously as a wrestler.



Kelly Kelly: Yeah, it's always a good thing when people start taking notice of you, but I only have myself to blame for losing last week and letting my fans down, they say you're only as good as your last match, and if that's the case then I'm not very good. So tonight I need to beat Maryse before one lose turns into two, and possibly a losing streak. I've worked way too hard to get where I am today and I don't want to throw it all away as quickly as I earnt it.

THQ Tank: Well you've got to admire your honesty. So 2012 is still young, what do you have planned for this year?

Kelly Kelly: You know, I'd love to keep making progress in XWL, as a ended 2011 on a high after a disappointing year, so I'd love to keep that up and keep up and make my mark in the Diva's division. It's been a long time since I've held gold here and if I keep on working hard and getting the job done in the ring hopefully this year I'll be ending that drought.

THQ Tank: Well it looks like that's all we have time for, thanks for...



*Midsentence a brown haired women walks past Kelly Kelly and Tank getting in the way of the camera and walking off as Kelly turns and watches her walk off*

THQ Tank: I'm sorry about that person walking in front of the camera, some people just don't care about common decency.

*As Kelly continues looking in the women’s direction, she turns back around to answer Tank*

Kelly Kelly: No, it's fine, but that can't be who I thought it was can it?

*Puzzled Tank shrugs his shoulders*

THQ Tank: I didn't see her face. But thank you for joining us today, and good luck in your match tonight.

*As Tank finishes talking, the camera's slowly fade out ending the segment*

Directly following a match graphic for the main-event of tonight's show, we're taken to the backstage area where we see Ted DiBiase geared up for his match later and he's standing by for an interview.



{Interviewer}
Here with me now is a man that many feel could finally reach that next level this year, a man that's been on quite a roll as of late, and will be competing in tonight's main-event, Ted DiBiase!

{Ted DiBiase}
What's up interview guy? I haven't seen you since like...last year!

{Interviewer}
As always you look to be in a good mood?

{Ted DiBiase}
Well you know me, even with the bad there's just so much good that drowns out any negativity in this ol' soul!

{Interviewer}
The bad being what happened in last week's main-event on the New Year's special edition of Breakdown?

{Ted DiBiase}
Bingo!

{Interviewer}
For those watching I'll just summarize what went down. The elimination tag-team match came down to three men, yourself and Justin Gabriel against Wade Barrett, despite numerous attempts from you, Gabriel, and Wade, no pinfalls over either of you were enough for a three count. You nearly had a three count over Wade in the final minutes but at the last possible split second Wade got his shoulder up, Justin then found his way back into the match, and fell to a Wasteland from the World Champion, he tried to boot you off the apron, like he did just before he eliminated John Cena from your team, but you saw it coming and retaliated in response. Just a short few seconds later he exits the ring and walks up the ramp, abandoning the match and giving Team Redemption the victory with the last elimination being by count-out. You know Wade very well, the history is there, so what did you think of how last week's show ended?

{Ted DiBiase}
Well obviously I'm with the fans, it sucked! You had six incredible athletes out there, each with their own special something that made that match a must see! We could have seen the match of the year, on the very first show of the year! But we didn't, instead we saw a side of Wade Barrett that honestly I didn't think existed. We knew that Wade had an arrogance that could annoy even the pope himself. But he always took on challenges dead on. He wasn't one to walk away from a threat, so that kind of made me question a lot of things when he did that.



{Interviewer}
I'll ask you now about the World Heavyweight Championship match that was made last week for Over The Limit. Your friend Justin Gabriel versus Wade Barrett, and it's a last man standing match. Do you see Justin being able to defeat the World Heavyweight Champion?

{Ted DiBiase}
What's funny about that question is that I'm pretty sure someone was asked that at some point regarding my match at last year's Final Stand. Let's face it, no one saw me beating Wade, they wrote me off without even an ounce of confidence in me. But I did beat him, I shocked everybody, I walked out the winner, and regardless of Wade claiming it was a "Flash KO" I still knocked his ass out for a count of ten. As for Justin, I actually do believe he can beat him. Normally you'd expect Wade to have the advantage, I mean he did just win three championship matches on the same night! But what's different about their match at Over The Limit...Is the fact that Wade has that added pressure on his shoulders. He remembers losing to me last year in that very same match type, he remembers that no matter what he did I just wouldn't stay down! So the way I figure, he's going to be second guessing himself that entire match...Is this enough? Will he stay down? Instead of having all the confidence in the world, he'll doubt himself, and that doubt will seal the end. It only takes one wrong move in a match like that, and I really believe he'll make it.



{Interviewer}
So in your mind you see Justin Gabriel walking out the New World Heavyweight Champion?

{Ted DiBiase}
I really do, ya' know Justin's had a huge year too, he's had a lot of personal growth, he made some bad choices sure but haven't we all? But it's those decisions that he made that have lead him to where he is right now. He's main-eventing Over The Limit, and his chances of being World Heavyweight Champion heading into Final Stand are very good.

{Interviewer}
We've noticed that you and Justin have become friends again, do you see this as a mistake on your part? I mean he did turn on you almost a year ago, you were a great up and coming tag-team, but Wade Barrett arrived on the scene, and ultimately he turned on you and joined Wade. What exactly makes you think he's changed? What exactly makes you think that this isn't all an act?



{Ted DiBiase}
I'm a firm believer in second chances, I was given one. I didn't deserve it, I had been a complete tool to everyone around me, I saw this image of what my father was, and it made me forget who I was. But instead of the fans mocking me or laughing at my misfortune, they were there for me...They helped me become the man I am right now...Without them I probably would've been future endeavored by now. But instead they've motivated me, they've given me a whole new lease on my career, and that's why I have no doubts about Gabriel's motives. He's a changed man, just like I was last year. Plus we're working on a name for his fan base right now so why would he turn on me?

{Interviewer}
Because you're eyeing the very same prize that he's hoping to soon hold?



{Ted DiBiase}
Look in the bussiness sometimes you face enemies, sometimes you face friends, that's just how things go. We've already been entertaining the idea of a one on one between us at Final Stand.



{Interviewer}
So you think you should perhaps be next in line for a World Heavyweight Championship match?



{Ted DiBiase}
That's kind of a tricky question, I'm all well and good with waiting my turn...But I've been patiently waiting on the sidelines for a few months now, I wasn't pinned in that triple threat number one contenders match back at The Monster Bash...And as you said at the start of this interview I have been on a roll as of late. It's not like I'm asking to have one handed to me, I'm willing to win a number one contenders match, I guess I'm just anxious is all. After all the training I've done this past year, all the learning I've had...I just really feel like this is my year. The year I finally do it...

{Interviewer}
Perhaps if you can defeat your opponent tonight than you can be well on your way to getting that match. Speaking of your opponent, a couple of weeks ago you faced his partner, The Miz. In a one on one match in the main-event as well...Earlier tonight Michael Cole came out announcing that The Miz has been sidelined with an injury. He was quick to point the finger right at you, do you have any response to the allegations that you're the cause of The Miz's injury?

{Ted DiBiase}
What's with Cole picking on me so much lately? If he got injured in our match then obviously I'm sorry but it's not like I did it intentionally. We're in the business where two, sometime more guys kick each others asses on a nightly basis, injuries happen. It's not like I went out there with this evil masterminded plan of injuring Michael Cole's favorite superstar. I send my best wishes out to The Miz, and I wanna send my get well wishes out to Michael Cole too. I understand he's still walking around with a cast on his hand from when he tried to deck me one. I guess he'll learn next time not to put his hands on this million dollar jaw, right?

{Interviewer}
I guess so, so now let me get your thoughts on your opponent tonight? Do you have a game plan heading into your match with R-Truth?

{Ted DiBiase}
Well now that you mention it, I've got a nice big spider I'm bringing out to the ring with me for no reason at all.

{Interviewer}
A spider?

{Ted DiBiase}
Yeah, you know Monopoly is so played out, giant, hairy, and scary spiders are where it's at!

[???] Oh hell no!

The crowd boo's furiously at the sound of the anonymous voice as he steps into view....



[R-Truth]
You have got to be kidding me! This night will go down as one of the worst in Redemption history! Nothing and I mean nothing but disappointment! I arrived at the building earlier on today and I was told by Vickie Guerrilla .......Guerola? ........Guered?......... Hell I don't know, but you know who I mean, the big gal, with the annoying voice, anyway, I was told by her that I would be taking part in the main event tonight! I was happy right? WRONG! I find out that I have to share a ring with you?! I mean no offence dude, but you're quite clearly out of your damn mind! Then, then, my boy Michael Cole announces that my best friend for life is injured?! WHAT THE HELL?! WE WERE SUPPOSED TO GO ON A TANDEM BIKE RIDE AROUND HAWAII TOGETHER!!!

R-Truth looks noticeably upset as he looks down at the floor for a moment in sorrow, but Ted snickers causing him to shoot his head upwards and continue speaking...



[R-Truth]
Don't you laugh at me boy. It will only make your beating tonight worse. I am already as pissed off as a guy with one arm hanging from a cliff with an itch in his ass! And now, finally, the icing on the crap cake that is my night! You tell the world that you have a SPIDER?! WHERE IS IT?! If you tell me now then maybe, just maybe I will kill it humanly........

Ted looks slightly worried for a second as he looks at Truth.

{Ted DiBiase}
Well...

Truth continues to glare at Ted

{Ted DiBiase}
Don't freak out, but he's on top of your head...

Truth begins to absolutely flip out, throwing his head back and forward with slapping his face and shouting...

[R-Truth]
OH GOD! GET IT OFF! GET IT OFF! GET IT OFF! I'LL KILL IT! I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL KILL EVERYBODY! GET THIS THING OFF OF ME!!!!!!

Ted begins to laugh as Truth stops jumping around and looks at Ted confused...

{Ted DiBiase}
OH THAT'S YOUR HAIR? Dude let me send you to my barber he'll fix you right up



[R-Truth]
You think you're funny huh? You see that's why I don't like you, in fact that's why I HATE you! You're annoying, everything you do makes my blood curl, you could piss off a damn happy meal! Even the toy in the meal would hate you, do you see what you have become Ted? You annoy innanimation objects that bring children joy!

{Ted DiBiase}
Don't you mean inanimate?

[R-Truth]
Now you're calling me stupid? You're putting me down? First you make a fool of me with your pranks and now you think it's acceptable to disrespect my knowledge of the English lasagna

[R-Truth]
Don't be ridiculous that doesn't even make any sense! Y'know who you remind me of? My old Math teacher Mr Brennan, he hated me! Always correcting me for no reason what so ever! He actually tried to tell me that twelve times twelve isn't sixteen, I mean come on, seriously. Everyone in this damn company needs to start giving me the credit I deserve! Or they'll get the same treatment I gave to Mr Brennan......

{Ted DiBiase}

[R-Truth]
