It is being reported that people high up in XWL, including Chairman Vince McMahon are extremely upset about how the situation regarding Prince Devitt's contract was handled. It is believed that the head of talent relations is walking on very thin ice within the company, it is thought that he is allowing one too many big names to just leave the company and he is bringing in random talent because they are willing to work for less lucrative contracts than the bigger names. These superstars however do not seem to last in the big leagues and while the management gives them every chance to shine in the spotlight, their momentum quickly burns out and they head for the exit, with the latest set of superstars to leave just a few days ago. The head of talent relations was reported to think that if he held out on offering Prince Devitt a new contract, that Devitt would eventually agree to lesser pay to continue working in the company. However, they are just finding out now that during the last few weeks within the company, Devitt was receiving very lucrative offers from other companies, including one which he made his name: NJPW.

Prince Devitt is viewed as one of the hottest talents in the industry right now and carries with him a huge buzz and it is reported that Vince McMahon is very upset that he was basically allowed to walk out of the company with very little interjection from the head of talent relations. Prince Devitt is believed to be freelancing on the independent circuit right now and it is reported that he is very close to signing a new deal with NJPW. The officials in XWL regret that he was let go so easily, so we have word that they are trying their best to reach out to Devitt and try to negotiate some form of new contract and have him return to the company.
