XWL Breakdown: 1/31/14 - 2/7/14

After a commercial break, the camera pans up to the General Mangers office. The cameraman enters the room to notice an argument between Stephanie McMahon and R-Truth.

R-Truth
What do you mean that I can't change opponents tonight?! Justin Gabriel's got nothing on me!



Stephanie
I'm sorry Ron, but I can't make do anything about it now. Tonights card has already been decided. You're facing Justin tonight and that decision is final. If there is something else that you would like to say, maybe you should tell me now, while you have the chance. If not, then I would like you to leave my office, and prepare for your match tonight.

R-Truth starts to head to the door, but suddenly stops as he holds the door handle. He turns around and walks back to Stephanie's desk to continue their conversation.

R-Truth
Steph, last week, a civilian drove into the arenas parking lot, and they ran over Lil' Jimmy!

Stephanie sits there confused and baffled as to who is Lil' Jimmy. She then plants her face into both her palms of her hands.

Stephanie
Lil' Jimmy? Ron, maybe you're not in the best condition right now. I thought we'd moved on from these insane stories about invisible children getting hurt and being your best friends! No one, in our company has more medical problems than you, Ron. We still let you in here, thinking that eventually, you would break out of this.....obsession with having imaginary friends talk to you, and apparently help you win matches!

R-Truth would stare at Stephanie for a few seconds, before starting to look slightly aggressive, and starts to raise his voice.

R-Truth
Did you just call Lil' Jimmy....IMAGINARY?!! Lil' Jimmy was my best friend for 2 long years Steph! When I first met him, he humiliated me, cost me matches, and all other crazy stuff! How couldn't you see that in the beginning, HUH?! Now Steph, look where he is, tell me right now where he is! Wait...I'll answer that for you! HE'S IN HELL! I knew from the very beginning that he was going down under, but he didn't know that at all. I pretended to be his friend for 2 years! Now that he's gone, I get to make my own decisions, and my own rules!

Stephanie, still confused, decides to get up from her chair, and head over to R-Truth. She places her hand on R-Truths shoulder, trying to support him.

Stephanie
Ron, don't worry about it okay? I'm here to help. Now, I may not be able to assist you with your match tonight, but, for you and.....Lil' Jimmy's sake, I will always be here for help. I'll also make sure that the roster will assist you and support your needs, as long as they can be done.

R-Truth looks up at Stephanie and his sadness changes to happiness and has a huge smile on his face.

R-Truth
You really mean it Steph?! You'll help me out with getting over Lil' Jimmy?

Stephanie
Ron, I'll be more than happy to help.

R-Truth
Thanks Steph! I knew I could always count on you!

R-Truth then gives Stephanie a big hug, that would last for a while. He lets go, and gives Stephanie an envelope before R-Truth runs out the door with happiness. Stephanie opens the envelope, and it reveals that it's......An invitation. It says:



Dear Stephanie McMahon, if you are reading this, I either gave this to you in happiness, or that you stole this from me, if you did, GIVE IT BACK YOU HEARTLESS BEING! But, if I gave it to you, then that means, you're invited. To what, you may ask, well after the death of my pretend friend, Lil Jimmy, I have decided that we should give him an official goodbye. I would like you to join me at the cemetery of Charlotte, North Carolina, Friday 14th, at 7:00PM. If you do turn up, I will be very much thankful for your support.
Yours sincerely, R-Truth.

Stephanie looks at the envelope in shock, while still looking confused. She places the contents of the envelope into her pocket, which then finishes the backstage segment.

(Sorry it's short, already got an idea set for next week with my feud <3)

The camera cuts to a poorly drawn cardboard square reading "Earlier this week."



A smiling Eric Young takes over the frame. As the screen slowly backs out, it finds Eric Young riding a water ski behind a boat. He begins to pull of outlandish stunts, making all of them. He then cuts a split, waving to a nearby boat. The screen cuts to Young running on a beach. A girl walks past him, and Eric turns to look at her, tripping over a kid and his sand castle. He jumps up, looks at the kid, unsure of what to do, so he takes off running. It then cuts to Young walking down a well lit street in the middle of the night, wearing a leather jacket, the collar proped up, looking rather silly. He then begins to sing with the chorus, lip synching with Stan Bush. Eric wails the lyrics until a car comes by, spraying him with mud, causing him to spit out specks of it.

The screen then cuts to a picture of Eric Young sitting on a park bench, head in his hands. An old, homeless looking man comes by, taking notice of him. He sits down next to him and begins to think aloud.

[Old Man]
A beautiful day, isn't it?

Young removes his hands, a glum look on his face.

[Eric Young]
Yeah, I guess.

[Old Man]
Is there something wrong?

[Eric Young]
I'm tired of being walked on. I've spent my whole life being the little dorky guy. I mean now, I'm just taller. Everyone sees me as a goofy guy that doesn't stand a chance in the real moments. Plus, I have this big wrestling match coming up in about a week and no one thinks I can win. Hell, I don't even think I can win.

[Old Man]
Well, why not?

[Eric Young]
I'm facing this big, strong, and fast pasty guy who actually put me through a table this past week. In case you haven't noticed, I am not exactly the buffest, strongest, fastest, or pastiest guy around. He has a lot over me. I expect it to be a great match, but, I just don't think I am going to win it.

[Old Man]
But does any of that matter? He might be big, strong, fast, and er, pasty? But, I don't think that will lead him to winning. I think you have the one thing he might lack.

[Eric Young]
Oh yeah, and what is that?

[Old Man]
Heart.

Young thinks it over, not sure how to take the compliment. The Old Man smiles at Eric, extending a hand.

[Old Man]
My name is Andy, by the way.

[Eric Young]
Eric, Eric Young.

The two shake hands, and the old man's eyes light up, getting an idea.

[Andy]
The XWL wrestler, right? My grandson watches you on the television all the time. Little Austin says he's a big fan of yours.

[Eric Young]
That's nice to know that someone out there is interested in me.

[Andy]
Eric, I think I might be able to help you train a bit for your match, if you'd like.

[Eric Young]
I trained last week for my match and we see what happened there. What is going to be the difference here?

[Andy]
This time, you're ripping off a movie.

Andy cocks a smile as Young raises an eyebrow at him. The screen then cuts to Eric Young and Andy walking in a snowy field, both wearing sock caps and coats as a song starts up.



As the main part of the song hits, it cuts to a segment of Young running, panting heavily, barely able to keep up with Andy. Then, it cuts to Young barely able to do push-ups. Then the same with sit-ups. It changes again to Young using a big slab of meat as a punching bag. He sends quick and percise shots at it while Andy yells at him to keep it up. Young is then seen again, running through the field, sprinting at a solid pace. He is then seen doing push-ups at a solid pace. Then sit-ups. It then cuts to Young jogging through a crowded city street, following him as people dart out of his way and he weaves in and out of walking traffic. He makes it to a building with a huge set of stairs leading to the top where Andy stands, holding a stop watch. Eric takes off up the steps, making it to the top and jumping up and down in slow motion. He suddenly jumps to far back as Andy, all in slow motion, reaches out for him as he goes backwards down the stairs. The screen pauses on Young, falling backwards down the steps and Andy trying to catch him. The feed then dies.

And what a big win for The Icon, Sting! He took it to Mike Knox, the big guy didn't even have a chance! 

You can say that again, King. I don't think I've ever seen Mike Knox manhandled like that! 

And now ladies and gentleman, we have a special treat for you. Earlier in the night, I got the chance to sit down with the former United States champion, Kenny King, and ask him a few questions about what's been going on lately and how he's changed since returning to action just four weeks ago. And I've got to say, King, I don't think I've ever seen him as serious as he is in this video. Just take a look . . .

Are you ready to begin, Kenny?

As ready as I'll ever be. 

Cole nods his head then begins to search through his notes, clearing his throat once he finds the page he was looking for. 

Okay, so let's start with the obvious question that's on everyone's mind. Why are you targeting Xavier Woods? You two have a long history together, and were, at least in my eyes, good friends. What changed? 

You hit the nail right on the head, Cole. We WERE good friends. But that was before he decided to stab me in the back. You see, a lot of people out there are saying that I'm just jealous. That I can't stand to see somebody else in the spotlight. That's not the case, far from it. This is an issue of respect, or lack there of it. From management, from the fans and from Xavier Woods. Stephanie McMahon is sitting back there in her office, twiddling her thumbs and pulling names out of a hat. I mean, just take a look at who she's got in the number one contenders matches at Uprising! And the champions aren't even defending their titles! Throw me against Antonio at the pay-per-view, give me the rematch that I never got! That you stole from me! And the fans . . . They've got their heads so far up their own asses that they can't see what's going on. I'm not the bad guy in this situation, Xavier Woods is. I'm trying to do some good, I'm trying to wipe him out of this company. And what do I get for it? Just more disrespect. Well I'm done being the good guy. I'm not here for them anymore, I'm here for me. I'm here to win back my championship and headline Final Stand. But first, I've got to get Xavier Woods out of my way, who's no different from the idiots at ringside. You see, Michael Cole, I'm not jealous of Xavier Woods. No, he's jealous of me! He's trying to steal my spotlight, TRYING. But has it worked out so far? I don't think so. It's only caused him pain and suffering. And it's only going to cause him more of it. Like at Uprising. He was an idiot to challenge me to a match. An idiot. He's not on my level, Cole. He's not ready for this caliber of match! And he's going to realize that when I'm driving his face into the mat this Sunday. 

Wow, okay, so ugh . . . On to the next question. Just how do you feel about Eric Young getting a chance to fight for the Intercontinental championship at Uprising? You obviously think it should be you in his place. Why?

Well don't you, Cole? Don't you think that I should be in that match instead of Eric Young? Because you're damn right. I do think that I should be in that match. I know I should. But like I said, Stephanie McMahon likes to pull names out of a hat I guess. The guy is a joke, an insult to pro wrestling. Would you really want someone like him representing your company!? Making a mockery of it? You want to know how I feel about Mr. Young being in that match at Uprising? . . . I feel insulted. But hey, that's just another day in my life. There's a conspiracy circling me, Michael Cole. One led by Stephanie McMahon. I'm being held back, and for what!? Because that idiot Alex Shelley doesn't know how to wrestle properly and injured me in our match at The Monster Bash!? It's ridiculous the way that I'm treated around here. Like some sort of peasant. Like I don't matter. But they'll see, they'll all see at Uprising. They won't be able to turn away this time, Cole. Not you, not Woods, not McMahon, not even the fans. I'm taking back my kingdom one step at a time. I'm the King, I'm Kenny King, and this interview is over. 

Wait, wait! I've still got a few more questions for you! Kenny? Ah, damn. 

I guess that's it then.

We come back from commercial break as the crowd is anticipating what is about to happen. We then hear an un familiar voice come over the arena.

Voice: SILENCE PLEASE!!!!!


The titantron then pulls up an image of a heavily bearded man in a robe walking toward the arena with his left hand out to the side looking like he’s holding something. Music then hits as we see the heavily bearded man walk out holding a microphone in his left hand.





The Heavily bearded man walks down the ramp and into the ring as we hear his voice again….





Voice: I SAID SILENCE PLEASE!!!!!!

The crowd goes silent as the Heavily bearded man begins to speak.

Man: Allow me to beg your indulgence please, My name is Damien Sandow and I am the Intellectual Savior of the Unwashed Masses.



Sandow:  Now if you don’t know what that means, it means I am here to save this company from society. Why you ask? Because you all are nothing but pathetic wastes of breath that this society call humans.
The crowd then heavily boos as a reaction to Sandows words.
Sandow: I SAID SILENCE PLEASE!!!!!!
The crowd then continues to boo as Sandow speaks further.


Sandow: Now any of you pathetic wastes want to interrupt me or cross my path I promise you will regret it. Now if you don’t mind im going to go relax and read some Edgar Allen Poe. Since none of you know who that it is he is a poet , YOUR WELCOME!!
Sandow scoffs and begins exiting the ring when…..

As the crowd settle down, "Off The Chains" is heard through out the arena as Bobby Roode's titantron pops up on the PA System.



Cole: What's Bobby Roode doing back out here? He already had his match.

King: Well maybe he has something to say about his upcoming match against CM Punk.

The entire arena erupts in their usual boos as Bobby Roode comes walking out onto the stage. He pulls a mic out from his pocket as he makes his way down the ramp and into the ring.

So last week I made my return here on XWL Breakdown. I didn't say a single damn word that night simply because my mind was on one thing. That was my opponent and what happened? I beat him in my first match back. Some say I should of had ring rust but that's just a perfect example of how damn good I am. And to follow up, earlier on in the night, I beat Mr. Anderson in a one on one as well. That just goes to show that I can back up what I say and I say I'm the real best in the world. Of course i'm going to have to prove it to Punk because his ego seems to cover up his eyes. But, I can speak about Punk later. Right now this is my first time speaking in this ring since I last left XWL. Let me tell you all a bit about my future here in XWL.



Bobby begins to pace back and forth as he continues to speak.

Bobby Roode
In a few weeks, the Era Of Bobby Roode will begin and you will all witness a series of events going down. I will win the world title. There's no doubt about that, but I don't want to give that generic speech about how I want a world title match. I'll earn that when the time is right. What I am going to do is tell you guys exactly what the Era Of Bobby Roode means.....It's a point in time where all the top stars will be taken out one by one and a storm takes over the XWL. The storm is me. I'll trap everyone in doors due to me being so damn dominant and entertaining that you just have to see how I destroy my opponent each week. I'll cause chaos in the back and chaos in this ring with not only my mic skills but my wrestling skills as well. I'm from Canada which brings you some of the greatest wrestlers of all time. I just so happen to be the best Canadian wrestler there is. So since i'm Canadian, you all already knew from the get go that I would be an impressive athlete. It's just the fact that I say some things that you don't like or I do things you don't like.

Roode let's out a small laugh before continuing to speak.

Well get used to seeing your great heroes falling to a much greater villain because that's what I do. I'll take every single one of them and I'll just add them to my hit list. A hit list that only a king should have. And that's exactly what I am. I'm a king but no just any king. I'm The King Of Domination. The Leader of the Selfish Generation. And more importantly, I'm the IT Factor of professional wrestling. I've got all the confidence a man needs to make a success story, but the question is, are you all confident in my ability to do what I say I'll do? Bobby Roode awaits a reaction with a smile as the crowd gives off a negative reaction. Of course you don't because you're the people who kill wrestling careers with a simple reaction. That's why I choose to go my own way without being controlled by the crowd like a puppet. Similar to Rey Mysterio. A man so high on respect that he doesn't expect any disrespect from others. Now look where he's at. He's on the shelf! That's all it takes to kill a wrestling career. Just look at the risk takers. They take risks just for you're amusement but in the end, you don't realize how much pain they're in because you all just want to see ridiculous stunts. That's why I shall lead this selfish generation to the top by pushing them to ignore the ignorant fans because they're just on the sidelines watching real men put there lives on the line each week!

Roode then receives yet another negative reaction that causes him to wait for the crowd to calm down.

Now as for the men that don't choose to follow me, that's where my path of domination comes in. I'm like a bullet train and when you get on my tracks, you just become yet another part of the trucks as I ride right over you and continue my quest to the top of the mountain where all wrestlers want to be. The difference between the others and I is that they can claim they're going to make it to the top but, at the end of the day, they are only just a couple of spot fillers to be fed to the monsters like myself. I've done some dangerous things in this sport in the past. I'm a dangerous man. That's what makes me a monster when I'll do whatever it takes to get to where I want to be. I don't care how big you are or how small you are. You're all equal in my opinion. You're all fuel for the bullet train!

Roode looks right into the camera with a serious look across his face.

And to start this train, I use CM Punk to get going on my long quest. In just a short time, I'll be going one on one with Punk where we decide who the best in the world really is. Not only that, but that's the night when the Era Of Bobby Roode begins. Punk will be used as an example for any other men who want to step in my way. He's basically a stepping stool whether he likes it or not. He can claim he's the best all he wants, but at the end of the day he'll always look up at me as I stare a hole through his skull sending a telepathic message of how much better I am than him. And maybe he'll realize that all these lies he's led himself to believe are actual lies and he can move on in life. Maybe he can go work on a Chicago pizza restaurant or something. Just as long as he knows that he may of been the top dog once here in XWL, but the torch is being taken from him by a much bigger and badder dog. He'll no longer be needed here since I only need him for one night to show the world exactly how good I really am. And then Punk can pick himself up and walk away from this. His mouth can't save him and his body can't save him. The only thing that can save him his career suicide. Kill of your career Punk before you're name gets put to shame.



Cole: Strong words from the IT Factor!

Roode then drops the mic and leaves the ring as XWL continues elsewhere.

XWL Breakdown cuts backstage to see Chris Jericho with Renee Young


[Renee Young]
Chris, in just a few short days you will go one on one with Shawn Michaels. With the history you and Shawn have aren't you wor...



[Chris Jericho]
Let me stop you right there, Renee. I know you're going to ask if I'm worried, if I'm afraid. Well, I'm not Renee. Shawn Michaels doesn't pose a threat to me, maybe in his prime a decade ago he'd have stood a chance, but that Shawn Michaels is long gone. The Shawn Michaels that I looked up to has gone, now it's just an old..beaten and broken old man. He's just trying to hang into whatever he can get, Shawn could head home and retire without a worry but he'd be out of the spotlight, and he hates that. He hates when all eyes aren't on him and he isn't the center of attention. He and Triple H no longer belong here, they should be sat home far away from this business.


[Chris Jericho]
At Uprising it will be the end of D-Generation X. Shawn Michaels' career will be over, my name will go down in history as the man who ended his career. I'm not doing it for me, I'm doing it for Shawn Michaels. I'm doing him a favour, he might think he still has it, Triple H might think he still has it but they're both delusional. I'm not.. I saw it clear and I see it for what it is. I won't stop at Shawn Michaels, he's just the first on the list. When Shawn is gone, when he's sat at him with his wife...Triple H will be able to join him. They can sit together and watch Breakdown every week and watch the man that ended their careers. After Uprising both Hunter and Shawn will be able to thank me for putting them out of their misery.


[Chris Jericho]
I didn't call myself The Best in the World, Renee. It was a name given to me, a name I earned.  While I may have lost the past few weeks, it means nothing. It doesn't change the fact that I am the best in the world at everything I do. I am still.....

Chris Jericho's attention then turns, to Wade Barrett who walks on screen with a big smirk on his face.  Renee appears puzzled and turns to meet the grinning Brit.


[Renee Young]
Uh... Wade... do you have something to say?


[Wade Barrett]
Of course I have something to say Renee.  After hearing all the garbage come out of Jericho's mouth just moments ago, about how he's the best in the world and all that other nonsense... I have a lot to say to Mr Jericho but I'll keep it short and sweet.  In fact...

Wade's expression turns to a serious one.


[Wade Barrett]
I've got some bad news!  You see Chris, nobody thinks you're the "best in the world" anymore.  Ever since your slow decline towards mediocrity after losing the World Heavyweight title last year, you've been an embarrassment.  To think you were once someone I looked up to and served as my mentor.  It's almost hard for me to believe how far you have fallen from the standards you set yourself.  You're living in a fantasy world and you're blatantly ignoring the facts... maybe it's the old age getting to you but it makes me quite sad to see a man I once I respected become this poor, degraded version of himself.  The fact is, you're no longer the "best in the world" Chris, but you're easily the most pathetic.  


[Wade Barrett]
And while we're on the subject of pathetic, let's also talk about D-Generation X.  Another pair of old fools that nobody above the age of 5 takes seriously anymore.  They're just there for comedy relief and nothing more.  I personally think the entire DX vs Jericho feud has been hilarious for the simple fact that you can hear the old bones and joints in each man creak from the backstage area and it's honestly pitiful that they still think they have what it takes to go toe-to-toe with the best of today's talent.  


[Wade Barrett]
Trust me Renee, if I get an opportunity to step in the ring with either of them I'll make sure to bring them crashing right back down to reality.  Thanks for listening!



With that Wade walks away with the smirk once again creeping over his face as the "#BadNewsBarrett" logo appears on-screen.  Renee and Jericho simultaneously raise their eyebrows in a funny moment as the screen fades to black for a commercial break.
