I personally handled the stories today because I felt like The Slammy Awards was such a great show that deserved a big callback to things that happened and to carry on the hype from that show to this one...but I can't do this every week, I was lucky to be off early so it was possible. But if the stories are something all of you like, and feel should remain apart of our weekly card...we're going to need one of you members to step up and take this over. The admins have too much work as it is, especially the title history which is a huge priority of ours, so if there's anyone that would like to type up the weekly stories we'd greatly appreciate it. But if not, they will be discontinued as of next week's card. LIVE FROM: Talking Stick Resort Arena Phoenix, Arizona
DEADLINE: 4:30 P.M. EST / 9:30 P.M. GMT1. Mella Is Once Again MoneyThe last 3 months Miss Money In The Bank April has been tormented by Nikki Cross, all while she was targeted by Demon Allie in an act of revenge on behalf of Rosemary one year prior. She was so consumed by the mixed emotions and thoughts that she was terrified this could be her downfall. That Nikki would win, that she would destroy everyone in the name of getting her "heart." But as she went out to compete in a battle of dominant beings against Nia Jax...a Last Woman Standing Match...she never saw what happened coming, and neither did. Fully recovered from the injury that resulted in the vacating of her Money In The Bank contract, Carmella would make her shocking return costing April her match...and then as if this were all apart of some diabolical scheme by JBL and his assistant General Manager Drake Mavierick...Drake would come out and declare that April's briefcase would be on the line RIGHT THEN AND THERE against Carmella. While April displayed the very fighting spirit that resulted in her becoming The Longest Reigning Women's Champion...it ultimately was too much for April to overcome, and Carmella once again sized control of The Money In The Bank contract. Have we seen the last of April? And if so..just what does Nikki Cross have to say about this startling turn of events? 2. Tag-Team Ware-fareOn The Trash City Stupid Idiots' first Anarchy since becoming The Tag-Team Champions at Cyberslam...they were set to remind everyone of their journey to being a team when they would meet one on one in a friendly match. While they certainly proved the phrase "you hit your friends harder" very true...their match was unfortunately disrupted by the bitter former Champions Chris Jericho & Kevin Owens. With a calculated assault in action, things didn't look good for Chad Gable & Chris Sabin...that is, until a shock overcame our systems as The Undisputed Era's Kyle O'Reilly & Bobby Fish ran in for the save on The Tag-Team Champions sending The Alpha Club out of the ring wanting nothing to do with these potential new threats to their coveted tag prize that they no doubt hope to regain. A mutual almost show of respect ensued between the champions and the hopeful challengers. But that wasn't all, following Bobby & Kyle's victory not long after, The Alpha Club would look to make them for butting their noses in their business...but The Trash City Stupid Idiots would swoop in for the save, repaying the favor. So the question is, have The Undisputed Era & The Trash City Stupid Idiots formed a temporary alliance to put a stop to The Stable Of The Year The Alpha Club? Or, will tonight tell a different tale? Tune in as The Undisputed Era take on The Alpha Club! 3. A New Prize AwaitsHow do you start off one of the biggest Anarchys in The XWL Calendar Year The Slammy Awards? Our General Manager JBL certainly seemed to prepare quite the announcement that would shape the next coming year in a never before seen way. The unveiling of The North American Championship. A SECOND title for The Women of XWL to compete for. And he wasted no time in revealing just how this historic match would come to be. For at Roulette in The Main-Event, the 2 Year Anniversary since Women Main-Evented a Pay-Per-View...The North American Title will be defended in a Fatal 4 Way. The first participant? None other than a breakout upstart who in one night impressed him enough to be worthy of such a big stage and a huge opportunity. Toni Storm having taken Dakota Kai out in a vicious attack at Cyberslam showed how much she wants it...and tonight, just it will every week from now until Roulette...a wheel will be spun, and a new competitor will be revealed. Who will the wheel land on? What will Toni Storm's reaction be to one of the women that stands n her way of becoming The First Ever North American Champion? 4. What Happened To Finn Balor? Last week on The Season Premiere Finn Balor set out to utilize the fresh start the night would bring and make an impact to get people talking, to recognize his talents so that he could return to his former glory as Champion. And he certainly started off on the right foot, gaining an IMPRESSIVE victory over The Monster Among Men, Braun Strowman. With such a huge win, surely this night had gone better than recently, maybe this was exactly the message he set out to send. But, just as the show had continued on like normal, suddenly a disruption occurred, and as the lights returned...Finn Balor was left lying unconscious in the middle of the ring. As he was stretchered out of the arena, and every day since...we've asked ourselves one thing...WHAT HAPPENED? We hope to have an update on this strange situation tonight. 5. WHO Is Our World Heavyweight Champion?!?On a night that was stacked from beginning to end...at long last it was time for The Main-Event...a 3 Stages of Hell Match between Johnny Gargano, Chris Jericho, and World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose 3 men that have gone to war and had all sorts of tension between themselves. Tension that began at Final Stand when Chris Jericho assaulted Johnny Gargano stealing his #20 spot in The Stand-Off and WINNING the World Title opportunity at stake. Last week was set to be the finale of this story, one man emerging superior, one man emerging Champion...but as Chris Jericho scored the first victory in The Death Match...perhaps signaling this might be his night...Johnny Gargano would utterly shock the world as he beat Chris Jericho AND Dean Ambrose in the 2 out of 3 falls match to follow, in a perfect 2 - 0 - 0 score. It would come down to the final stage, a TLC Match. The very match type that ended Dean's World Television Title reign. The match he needed to win to tie the score...but unfortunately that didn't happen, no...his reign came to an end...but not by one of the men...by BOTH? Both Chris Jericho & Johnny Gargano each grabbing an end of The World Title that was suspended above...pulled it down at the same time resulting in both technically being the victor of the final stage. As mass confusion swept over The XWL Universe...we were left with one question, what does this mean? Hopefully our General Manager is able to clear this unexpected outcome up for us tonight. DEADLINE: 4:30 P.M. EST / 9:30 P.M. GMT7 Hungry MenWith one defense under his belt over Chris Jericho, last week The Intercontinental Champion Eli Drake came out to find out what, or rather who was next. But he was quickly interrupted by The General Manager who announced it was not Eli's decision who would face him, that critical decision was now in the hands of The XWL Universe. They will choose between James Storm, Roderick Strong, Pete Dunne, Daniel Bryan, Finn Balor, Kenny Omega, and JBL's new protege Drew McIntyre. How will these superstars react tonight to the news of their potential Championship Match at Cyberslam? All 7 of them will be in action, as they square off with each other throughout several matches all with an opportunity to secure your votes. WHO truly is "The Baddest"Last week Paul Heyman returned to XWL, signifying what we believed was the return of his infamous client Brock Lesnar. Except one critical detail, he interrupted Sasha Banks & Liv Morgan. He professed that he was here on behalf of his NEW cleint Ronda Rousey with a challenge to The Boss for her to be her first opponent in XWL, at Cyberslam! After a few choice words from The Boss and her new bestie the challenge was accepted. The question is, who's calling themselves the "baddest" and who actually is? A "Ruff" EncounterMatt Sydal's quest to once again become "The Golden One" landed himself against The Returning "Big Dog" Roman Reigns in singles action. Roman didn't see a challenge when he looked at The Longest Reigning World Heavyweight Champion in XWL History...he saw a "high flying chihuahua." After managing to defeat Sydal, Matt being the sportsman he is offered a handshake even after hearing Roman's earlier comments. But instead of shaking his hand, Roman patted him on the head like a child which led to a sudden Here It Is Driver from Matt Sydal, and a challenge for a rematch at Cyberslam. Will Roman accept? Competition Bleeds Into ChaosThe saga between Number One Contenders Chris Jericho, and Johnny Gargano has been volatile to say the least, bitterness and anger have consumed Gargano ever since Jericho stole Johnny's #20 spot in The Final Stand-Off it's darkened him. Because after all he endured with The Miz he's not going to ever allow himself to be put in that position ever again. But on that night where he defeated Jericho and earned his spot into the match at Cyberslam making it a Triple Threat, he took that competitive edge he's displayed thus far and amplified it laying out The World Champion Dean Ambrose as a statement. But last week after a war of words between the challengers and things began to turn physical, suddenly the crack of a steel chair silenced everyone as standing over Gargano was The Champ himself. Dean vowed no more games, and that he'd tap into another side of himself and it's safe to say intends to make good on that promise based on his actions last week. Time To Re-Visit The WarAt Warzone in The Inaugural XWL Tag Team Championship match between The Trash City Stupid Idiots (Chad Gable & Chris Sabin) enemies turned allies. And The Alpha Club (Chris Jericho & Kevin Owens) two of the trio looking to prove their superiority in all of XWL. History was not without controversy as the third man in the group Sami Zayn interfered, leading to a handful of tights and the crowning of The First Ever XWL Tag Team Champion The Alpha Club. But last week with an opportunity for Gable & Sabin to each go one on one with Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn they made the most of that opportunity picking up victories that would set the course for what they would say after the fact. They wanted a rematch, and they want it at Cyberslam. With a post match attack by The Alpha Club following that challenge, have they accepted? We hope to find out tonight as once again they'll all square off in singles action, this time with both halves of the champions.
