Triple H and Shawn Michaels have returned to XWL and have reformed one of the most famous groups in all of Pro Wrestling History: DX. Although they may be a bit older now, this group has the potential to wreak havoc in XWL. They wasted no time in calling out the two dominant factions of XWL, The Bullet Club and The Cabinet.
Over Before it Started
Luke Harper has been on Brock Lesnar's heels for weeks now, chomping at the bit to get his hands on him. He had his wish granted and was scheduled to take him on last week on Anarchy. Harper proved unable to wait and rushed the former UFC champ before the match could even start. Both men were able to get in some solid offense but the interference of security put an end to the match before it even started.
Give Him a Hand
Following his match with AJ Styles, Chad Gable took to the mic to address the incident that took place between him and Sami Callihan that left Gable's hand almost unusable in the nights match. Gable showed that he really is ready and willing as he announced that he will be taking on Callihan at International Incident with hopes of embarrassing him in front of his home crowd of Japan.
He Couldn't See Him
John Cena was informed by XWL medical personnel that he would be unable to compete in his match last week, and after some spirited protesting he accepted his fate and made his way to his car to leave. That is when Eli Drake made his move and smashed him in the head with a pipe. Since losing his Elite title, Drake has become more and more beligerent. Will Cena recover in time to fight back?
You’re Not Worthy
Ruby Riot has once again denied Natalya a shot at her Women’s Championship, leading to the challenger interrupting April’s (temporary) farewell speech. April accepted as a way to give Nat a chance to prove herself to Riot, but stipulated that it be an Iron Man match.
With the final commercial break of the evening coming to a close, we return to Anarchy, where the General Manager in Layla is standing inside the ring alongside a professionally made table and two chairs embroidered with the logos of both the defending Champion in Sami Zayn and his challenger in The Miz. The contract and three microphones sit on the table, one closest to the General Manager and the other two placed next to each other further down the table where Zayn and The Miz would be seated. Layla takes a moment ot compose herself before lifting the microphone up off the table and towards her lips.
Layla Ladies and Gentlemen as General Manager it is my honor to stand here to tonight and talk about what an incredible show awaits the entire world at International Incident next week. Japan is a land that continues to put Wrestling on the map. An evolution of styles and of the Wrestlers themselves. Once they set foot there, their careers are forever changed. The standard is higher, the appreciation is of the utmost caliber, and the talent is truly breathtaking. And heading into such a stacked event, we need a Main-Event that can follow every incredible thing that happens, and deliver one last unforgettable moment. As all of you saw at Breakthrough, The Miz truly proved that he wasn't "average" he was awesome. But The Mr. Money In The Bank Sami Zayn also proved he knew how to seize a moment just like The Miz himself had. These two men have raised their own bars throughout this past year. And at International Incident, we see what happens when two men in their prime face off for the richest prize in this industry, in front of an audience that expects brilliance and it is what they will get. I am out here to give Our World Heavyweight Champion Sami Zayn, and his Number One Contender The Miz, the opportunity to address one another one final time before their clash at International Incident, and to sign the contract to officially sign, seal, and deliver to you a Main-Event worthy of the stage it is set for.
Quiet on the set!
Can we please have quiet on the set?
Images flash across the screen in quick succession as the sound of a camera flashing syncs alongside it in perfect harmony. After all but a few moments of this, the arena falls into darkness.
AWESOME!
The theme of The Miz blasts throughout the arena to a mixed reaction for a few moments before The Miz emerges from behind the curtain and walks out onto the stage wearing an expensive looking suit, as per usual. He does his trademark spin on the stage and points out towards a small section of the crowd before making his way down the entrance ramp. Upon reaching the bottom of said ramp, he turns towards the steel ring steps and begins his ascension before ultimately entering the ring, pulling out the chair and taking a seat.
With both Champion and Challenger sitting across the table from one another and the World Heavyweight Championship, the prize they are both fighting for at International Incident, sitting between them, Layla slides the contract towards The Miz, who intently looks it over, his eyes scanning every word, every character etched on the page to ensure that it's to his liking. After seemingly being satisfied with the contract in question, he moves his hand towards the microphone and lifts it up off the table, pulling it closer. He locks eyes with the man he'll do battle with at International Incident in Sami Zayn for a few moments before lowering the microphone back down to the table. He removes the pen from the contract and doesn't hesitate signing it before sliding it over to Zayn, who seemingly expected some sort of verbal war before they walk into the Pay-Per-View. The Miz rises up from his seat and walks past Zayn before exiting the ring and making his way up the ramp, an uncharacteristic choice from the self-proclaimed “Most Must See Superstar.”
Sami Zayn|The Underdog Get your ass back here Miz! You think you don't have to acknowledge me? I'm the World Champion! Not you anymore Mike! I kicked your skull in and took YOUR Title!
Miz stops at the top of the stag still not looking at Sami
Sami Zayn|The Underdog YOU LOOK AT ME WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOU! I'M SICK AND TIRED OF THIS GODDAMN DISRESPECT! I don't care if you don't think I deserve this Championship Miz because all these people here tonight and all around the globe RESPECT me and believe that I deserved this! I don't care if you think I don't deserve this Title but you better acknowledge that I'm a threat! You've seen what happens to people who take me to lightly, they get a boot slammed into their skull and the last sight they see is me, standing over them.
Miz starts to head up the ramp again, Sami signs the contract then looks to not be done talking to Miz.
Sami Zayn|The Underdog THAT'S WHAT YOU DO BEST MIZ! Walk away! Go ahead, walk Miz walk away from the man that cost you Money in the Bank, walk away from the man who took YOUR Championship! I can finally see that Maryse is the man of the house!
The crowd all let out a universal "OOOOOH" as Miz stops, Miz turns around and B Lines for the ring, Sami tosses his Championship down as Layla quickly exists. Miz slides into the ring as Sami and he start throwing punches, Sami gets the upper hand and drives Miz into the corner laying shot after shot on Miz, Mz is stunned as Sami sees his opportunity Sami rushes to the other side of the ring and stares at Miz for a second who is gathering himself in the corner, Sami runns full sprint and lifts his leg for a massive HELLU-NO Miz brings his first directly into Sami's nether regions! Sami goes down, hunched over. Miz picks Sami up and throws him outside of the ring near the announce tables, Miz lays more punches into Sami's skull which is now bleeding, Miz tears apart the announce table as Graves and Mauro scatter, Miz takes one of the monitors in hand as Sami starts getting to one knee, Miz takes a step back and runs almost throwing that monitor into Sami's forehead. Sami is bleeding even more now as security comes out trying to separate Miz from Sami, Miz attacks the security guards laying them out one by one, Sami is out cold as Miz picks up his motionless body and throws him onto the table, Miz gets onto the table with Sami and the crowd rains down boos. Miz clutches Sami in a full nelson and lifts him to his feet slowly, Miz brings Sami's head crashing down as the table implodes from the impact. More security has made its way out now as has doctors and Layla, Layla orders Miz away before she has to do something she'll regret as doctors check on Sami. Miz throws his hands in the air and is lend into the back by security, XWL ends with Sami in a bloody mess.
