Truthfully we haven't really had many tag-team matches since the return so it kind of was one of those things that you don't think about until you book a tag-team match and suddenly remember....oh yeah, this is something we need to address.
So in the past when certain members did tag-team matches, we'd realize that they're seemingly never ending, especially when people get so good at breaking pins. So we had an unofficial rule that to be honest I don't know why we didn't implement then...but hey it happens. So that "rule" or condition as we called it stated that each team was only allowed a certain number of illegal pin breaks. This stopped the never ending match, and prevented it from becoming a huge mess due to everyone being so "over" the match at a certain point. So given that we've got not one but two tag-team matches booked on today's new card set to go up in just under two hours, it came time to address that issue.
So the rules have been updated, and it will state for you lazy readers out there that EACH team is allowed ONLY 3 Pin Break Attempts.
To put this as simple as possible to make sure there's no confusion what that means is say both teams have done two finishers each, they're eligible to go for the win right? So the first team we'll call them A. does a finisher, the other person's illegal partner we'll say B. breaks the pin, then it happens again, then that legal person being hit with finishers tags out (B), and team (A) hits a finisher and the once legal but now illegal member of (B) breaks that pin. That's it, that is their three pin breaks, and that means that anytime a pin happens at that point, any member of (B) that is illegal HAS to stay on the apron and hope to god their partner kicks out. And it would be the same if (A) suddenly started getting their ass kicked and (B) hit three more finishers, Team A. would then have to remain on the apron just like B.
Simple as that.
