First topic message reminder :

DISCLAIMER:

Tonight's show The General Manager will NOT be used by ANYONE. Instead, a Guest Host will "run" the show if you need a segment where an authority figure of sorts is involved message me and I'll let you know what can happen instead of using Layla.

LIVE FROM: Bell Centre, Montreal, Quebec, Canada
DEADLINE: 4:30 P.M. EST / 9:30 P.M. GMT

-/-  News heading into tonight's show  -/-

1.   "The Gold War"

It all started back in 2009, when Evan Bourne ended The United States Championship reign of R-Truth, the first title either had won in their early beginnings...a victory that would be the start of many reigns, of many titles for Evan, but a loss that would send R-Truth questioning whether he even had what it took to succeed. Two years later, Evan would lay claim to The X-treme Championship, defeating countless men until one man stepped up to stop him, and dish out a little back, R-Truth. He would dethrone Evan, but ultimately this match would prove to be one of the last clashes for a title both gentlemen would have for quite some time. Now almost eight years after their first encounter much has changed, but the more things change the more they stay the same. Matt Sydal as Evan rebranded himself, would succeed upon returning, transforming into "The Golden One"  While R-Truth would win The Money in The Bank Ladder Match and have a contract to cash in whenever he pleased...soon once Matt got closer to the gold,  Truth began to become enamoured with gold, almost as much as Sydal...and a vendetta would be cast, reminding us of what happened, Truth vowed to settle the score once and for all, and pay for Bourne ending his first reign as champion...but before he could Sydal fell defeat to the man he had dethroned, and on the grandest stage of them all...R-Truth, would strike gold, cashing in, and becoming The NEW World Heavyweight Champion. Now here we are, the third match, each holds a championship reign over the other that they've ended, and tonight...we wonder if Sydal will do it again. Or perhaps R-Truth will seize this golden opportunity to finally get the last laugh over his long time rival. Who will leave tonight's Main-Event as World Heavyweight Champion? Will The REAL Golden One please stand up?

2.   When The General Manager's away...The Guest Host Will Play?

Last week after passing her surprise performance review, General Manager Layla was granted a week off, to enjoy a vacation thanks to the generous Vincent Kennedy McMahon...and he would take this opportunity to announce an idea he's had for a while, that he's finally going to put to the test. As XWL nears its impressive 10th anniversary, he'd like to hype that up and celebrate what has lead us to this very year, by having past Superstars come back and host the show, to remind us where we come from, and inject a little blast from the past onto Anarchy. So as we come live from Canada, we've been left with only one clue, they're a native Canadian...and with a lot names listed off in the rumor mill, we ask ourselves...who is returning tonight as Guest Host?

3.   The Demon Vs The Deadman

At Final Stand in the inaugural Stand-Off, Finn Balor was eliminated after a brutal chokeslam off the apron courtesy of The Deadman. But Balor wouldn't let that be the end of him, he walked right into that ring the next night on Anarchy during The Undertaker's match and sent a message...The Undertaker's own signature cutthroat taunt, which would give Barrett enough time to spin him around and connect with The Bullhamer, The Demon costing The Phenom. And the next week Balor would give us an explanation, stating The Undertaker cost him an opportunity, and so he would see to it that The Undertaker didn't receive any of his own if it was the last thing he did. Promising that his end would come at the hands of The Demon King. Balor would strike again later that night walking onto the stage during Undertaker's match with Seth Rollins prompting The Deadman to follow pursuit of him...but while Balor avoided comeuppance for the moment, after his victory over Kenny Omega The Undertaker would appear, choke slamming him. Things escalated from there, The Undertaker holding him captive the next week, brutalizing him into bloody spewing frenzy, before telling him to heed his warning, he was done with him....and if he knew what was good for him, he'd stay out of his way...but The Demon King would not be deterred from his mission, despite being broken, and bloody, he'd challenge The Deadman to a No Disqualification Match, promising he will take him to a world so evil, he can't stand being there. And as the bell tolls, and the stage is set for a clash of unnatural forces, only one will stand tall, will Balor be put to rest, in pieces...or will he claim the soul of the reaper?

4.    Come Get Some

Last week was meant to be the reigniting of a rivalry unlike many of John Cena's throughout his career, a man that he couldn't easily defeat, a man that had made him abandon his "Never Give Up" mantra before...but after fifteen minutes of high paced incredible action, as John Cena sporting a crimson mask, stared down at the man that had just evaded an Attitude Adjustement...a man hopped the barricade, rushed the ring with a chair in hand, and changed....everything. The hood flipped back, and it was none other than AJ Styles, the man that had "quit" two weeks prior. He looked at Matt Sydal, the man he went to war with for 5 months over The World Heavyweight Championship, the man whose career he had tried to end...and SWUNG....AT JOHN CENA?! The Leader of The Cenation fell in a heap of his own blood, and The XWL Universe was in shock, what just happened? Better yet, WHY?! With The General Manager's vacation falling at the worst possible time, there's now a rogue former Superstar on the radar of John Cena, and as John has said before if you want some....come get some, so will AJ strike again tonight? Or will we get some insight as to why he's targeted him?

5.  LETS GO: The Wrestling God Edition

On The Biggest Night of his career, on the grand stage of them all, Sami Zayn defeated The Champion of The Year Leo Kruger, a man that couldn't be stopped, until The Underdog from The Underground did just that. What makes Sami Zayn unlike any Intercontinental Champion before now, is the fact that when he arrived on the scene, he already was Intercontinental Champion of another promotion, a promotion that had fallen, effectively making his reign at the time fall with it. It's been his mission to lay claim to XWL's I.C title, to pick up where his feet were cut out from under him before...and now he's here, he's done it, and he faces his first test, A Wrestling God. JBL is perhaps more dangerous than ever, wiping a new upstart in TJ Perkins out of action after a brutal assault, sending a message to the champion. Not only can he brutalize a man like Sami Zayn as proven with TJ Perkins, but he's got a dangerous new friend in The Big Show. A man that would help him defeat Bad News Barrett to get this opportunity tonight, which poses the question can Sami Zayn overcome the odds? A giant? A brutal match? And an assistant like Virgil that could prove to be a good investment if the right opportunity arises in tonight's championship match. Sami Zayn is a man up against a very tough challenge tonight, but he's also a man that doesn't back down, the odds may not be in his favor, but that's never stopped him before, and it's that heart that could very well lead him to a successful defense. After all, money can't buy you everything, sometimes it all comes down to what happens in that ring if Sami can thwart a Giant, a lackey, and a Clothesline from Hell, he may still reign as Intercontinental Champion when the night is done.

-Mauro Ranallo-
The Big Show. The man that aligned himself with the newly crowned Intercontinental champion JBL. It makes you wonder where he is mentally to align himself with a snake like that.

-Corey Graves-
He knows what is best for him obviously. He aligned himself with a champion! He is on his way up the ladder and now his opponent, Bad News Barrett, is trying to knock him off of it. I think we'll see the Giant settling this tonight.

Big Show arrives in the ring and stands dead center, staring up at the stage.

-Mauro Ranallo-
I'm not sure about this one...he has no respect for the business or the fans but when you compare him to JBL, he almost seems like the good guy.

-Corey Graves-
Good Guy? There's no good guy or bad guy in this. There are winners and losers and this guy is a loser. If he wasn't he would have been fighting Sami Zayn tonight.

Bad News Barrett arrives in the ring and squares up to the Big Show in the center of the ring.
Normal Match

The bell rings and the combatants charge each other, locking up.

Fifteen minutes into the match, Bad News Barrett hits a series of right hands on the Big Show who drops to one knee.

-Bad News Barrett-
JUST GIVE UP!! STAY DOWN!

Bad News Barrett delivers a big boot to the head of Big Show.

Instead of falling to the mat, Big Show wobbles a bit and gets to his feet. Barrett starts to wind up for the Bull Hammer when Big Show slams his large hand around the throat of Barrett.

Big Show lands a choke slam on the British bruiser and lifts his leg for a pin.

Barrett kicks out of the pin right before the refs hand hits the mat.

Big Show lifts Barrett off the mat and again puts his hand around Barrett's throat. Barrett starts throwing fists at the torso and head of the big man. The crowd starts to chant with each successive hit until Barrett is able to break free and delivers one final hit that sends Big Show laying against the ropes. Barrett sees this and lifts his right hand in the air before positioning Big Show between the second and third rope and begins delivering knees before running off of the ropes and delivers another big boot, knocking Big Show out of the ring. Barrett climbs the turnbuckle and waits for Big Show to stand.

Barrett jumps from the turnbuckle towards the Big Show, landing a mid-air Bull Hammer at the same time that Big Show hits a W.M.D. Both superstars collapse to the ground outside of the ring.

-Corey Graves-
OH MY GOD. BOTH MEN ARE DOWN!

The referee begins the 10 count.

Both superstars manage to make it to their feet but instead of sliding into the ring to end the count-out, both men once again charge each other and begin throwing fists and throwing each other into the barricade.

9

By now both men are brawling up the ramp, clearly forgoing any semblance of sanctioned XWL match.

10!

-Corey Graves-
This has descended into chaos. The match has ended in a double count out and they're still going.

A group of referees and backstage officials come sprinting out of the back and rush towards Barrett and Big Show, attempting to break up the violent spectacle unfolding before the cameras. It takes multiple men each to restrain the two men, and the cameras cuts to a commercial as they continue to scream red-faced at each other.

PostSubject: Balor vs. Taker   Mon Apr 17, 2017 2:33 pm

No-Disqualification Match

Balor makes his way down to the ring. His bruises are very noticeable and nearly his entire body is wrapped in tape. Balor wastes no time getting to the ring and waits for his opponent to make his entrance.

The bell tolls as Taker rises from the smoke, making his way towards the ring with a demonic stare straight at Balor. Undertaker was in no mood to play around… he meant business. Taker then steps in the ring and removes his hat as he rolls his eyes behind his head. Balor watches and waits for the match to start so he can finally get revenge on the Deadman. The bell rings and the match starts…

After 10 minutes of Taker dominating Balor, Taker leaves the ring and looks under the apron. He searches for a second only to pull out a steel chair.

Corey Graves:
Oh my God Mauro… he’s trying to end Balor. He’s gonna finish him.

Taker rolls in the ring as Balor rises to his knees. The sounds of chair shots echo throughout the arena as the back of Balor is torn apart by The Undertaker. Balor lies on the ground as taker lays the chair down and tries to lift up Balor for a tombstone.

Mauro Ranallo:
The end is near Corey.. Poor Balor..

Out of nowhere, a speck of life enters Balor as he escapes the tombstone. Balor quickly grabs the chair as he swings at Takers head bending the steel around him. Taker staggers but stays in his feet. Balor hits Taker again with the chair as The Deadman falls to his knees. One last chair shot connects to Takers head as he hits the mat. Balor falls beside him as the small amount of energy left is nearly gone. Balor knew that he needs to finish this now. Balor rolls out of the ring and searches under the ring for to tools he needed to finish The Undertaker. As he searches he finds a table followed by a ladder. The crowd light up as they know what’s about to happen. Balor gets back inside the ring and sets up the table in the middle of the ring and the ladder in front of it. He lays a couple of fists into The Undertaker as he rolls him onto the table. Balor then climbs the ladder hoping to hit his finisher, the Coup De Grace, on him. As Balor climbs the ladder… familiar music hits…

Corey Graves:
It’s The Beast! It’s Brock Lesnar! He heard the challenges laid by both and he has come to take someone to Suplex City!

Balor looks up toward the ramp with a very surprised look on his face. Finn looked over at Brock for only a moment but as he looked back down, Taker had climbed up the ladder and placed his hand around the neck of Balor. Before Finn could do anything, Taker chokeslams him off of the ladder onto the table.

Mauro Ranallo:
Corey! Finn Balor is finished! His career, maybe even his life may be done after that huge chokeslam onto the table! He is BROKEN!!!

Taker climbs down the ladder keeping his eyes on Brock as he folds Balor’s arms and pins his shoulders to the mat.

3!

Corey Graves:
The match is over Mauro… it’s finally over.

Taker stands over the near lifeless body of Balor as Brock stands watching at the top of the ramp. The lights go dark and Taker takes a knee and looks out a Brock. He reaches out towards The Beast… signaling that he is the next soul to be claimed. Then the camera cuts to the next scene.

The cameras cut backstage where we see the World Heavyweight Champion R Truth standing next to Renee Young.

Renee Young
Please welcome my guest tonight, the XWL World Heavyweight Champion, R Truth!

R Truth looks at the Championship that is on his shoulder as Renee asks a question.

Renee Young
R Truth tonight the main event is you vs Matt Sydal for that championship you hold right there.

R Truth
That's right tonight I defend my most prized possession. And if anyone thinks for a second that I'm gonna let Matt Sydal take what is mine again then they need to think again.

R Truth looks at his championship again and rubs it with his hand as Renee asks another question.

Renee Young
How has your perspective of things changed since you saw the truth with Broken Matt Hardy.

R Truth
I was really amazed of what I saw. To be honest I still can't believe it. But either way he is going to be my challenger at Downpour after I beat Matt Sydal here tonight. Whether he was my friend in a past life or not, I still have to focus on one thing. And that is staying the World Heavyweight Champion.

Renee Young
Should we call you Scodrick now?

R Truth looks at Renee like she is insane.

R Truth
What?!?! Hell naw you or anyone else calling me Scodrick. I am R Truth the World Heavyweight Champion and don't forget that.

Renee Young
Didn't mean any disrespect R Truth. Your journey to get to the point your at right now has been a long one and one definitely deserving of everyone's respect. The XWL Universe has really gone on your side R Truth since you cashed in at Final Stand. What are your thoughts on that?

R Truth
The XWL Universe did the right thing as they finally realized the truth. The truth set them free and now the truth is there champion. I couldn't ask for anymore from them.

Renee Young
Thank You R Truth and good luck with your match tonight.

R Truth looks at his title and then Renee with a smile.

R Truth
The Truth doesn't need luck.

R Truth then walks off camera as Renee finishes off the segment.

Renee Young
Coming up shortly is the Main Event stay tuned everyone.

MAIN-EVENT

World Heavyweight Championship Match

[Mauro Ranallo]
Truth immediately seizing control in the first 30 seconds!

[Corey Graves]
He knows what this match has at stake, and he can't risk letting Sydal get any offense, not when it's so quick and so effective, he needs to do this the entire time, keep him in his grasp, and don't let go.

With the rear waist lock tightly in place, Sydal stomps Truth's foot, giving him the second he needed to spin around, locking his arms around Truth's waist now, Truth not to be outdone returns the favor stomping The Golden One's foot, and spins back into control! His arms cinched from behind just as they were before.

[Mauro Ranallo]
A bit of symbolic one upsmanship.

[Corey Graves]
This "Gold War" has been nothing but that, from title's being taken to gold branding, I'd expect nothing less from these two.

[SPOILERS BELOW]

[ALRIGHT FINE BUT THAT MATCH WAS SICK]

As R-Truth bounces off the ropes, setting Sydal up for perhaps the final move of the match, going deep into the well to deliver another axe kick, he runs right into a sudden HEEL kick from The Golden Challenger! Instantly he falls flat on his back, and the fans pop from the unexpected strike. Sydal sits for a moment on his hands and knees, exhausted, bruised and battered from this unbelievable 90 minutes of two men truly at the top of their game. But that moment doesn't last, his eyes gaze up at the top rope, they look down at Truth, The World Champion is right where he wants him. Glancing back up at the top rope, he stands to his feet, still locked on the corner, cheers begin to ramp up and within any hesitation he stumbles to the ropes, staggering along the apron hastily mounting the corner. He falls forward against it, truly spent, but after a second to catch his bearings, he jumps up, and his feet land on the ropes, centering himself now on the top turnbuckle!

[Mauro Ranallo]
If Matt Sydal hits this, this could be over!

[Corey Graves]
I don't even know if it will, we must have seen almost a dozen of these, and likewise, with The Axe kick, and the Suplex Stunner, and The Here It Is Driver! I can't recall a time where two men have been so equally matched, for this long!

[Mauro Ranallo]
It was dubbed "The Gold War" and they've not disappointed. But with every ounce of energy surely nearly gone from both men, all it's going to take is one good move, like The Golden Star Press to seal the deal!

[Corey Graves]
Might we be witnessing the crowning of a NEW World Heavyweight Champion just moments from now?

The fans are on their feet, the energy electric...he rises to a standing position, then takes a deep breath. As Matt Sydal is perched on the top rope looking around the arena the roar of the crowd begins to grow as the feel The Golden Star Press is mere moments away. We switch camera, and we are now outside the ring right below the turnbuckle Matt Sydal is upon.

[Mauro Ranallo]
Get ready Corey as we are about to see The Golden Star Press!

[Corey Graves]
Oh, believe me, I'm ready...I don't think I could handle another minute of this exciting action, I'm emotionally spent!

Out of the corner of our eyes, we see rustling from underneath the ring, the movement continues in front of the cameraman trying to get the big shot of what could be the finale of this match. He notices this, pans down, and slowly a person crawls out from under the ring, trying to not pull any attention from the two men in the ring.

[Corey Graves]
WAIT A SECOND, MAURO....LOOK! IS THAT... oh my god... IT IS...

Fans near the side the man emerged out from under begin to change their excitement, to confusion...for the person that scurried out from under the ring, appears to be....LEO KRUGER?! Sporting a new look, one we almost didn't recognize at first, emerges with a look of pure rage across his face as his head tilts up at the unknowing Superstar of The Year. Right then he Leaps to his feet, then to the apron like an animal on the hunt.

[Mauro Ranallo]
MATT WATCH OUT!!!!!

Without any awareness of anything but R-Truth, right in the middle of the ring where he wants him, the unknowing victim starts to ready his launch, when suddenly Leo Kruger PUSHES HIM OFF THE TOP ROPE WITH SUCH FORCE HE GOES FLYING TOWARDS THE OUTSIDE OF THE RING!

[Corey Graves]
OH MY GOD WHAT THE HELL, MOVE MAURO, QUICK!

That next instant we get the horrifying sight of Matt Sydal plummetting through the announce table!
Headsets are ripped off as the table collapses, and what's left of Matt Sydal lies in the debris, motionless, and broken. The camera switches back to Kruger, who has a big smile upon his face as he takes in a deep breath through his nose, and closes his eyes. The camera switches back to Matt Sydal's motionless body. The referee has left the ring, he hasn't even bothered to call for the bell, fans stand in complete disbelief, horrified by what they just saw happen, such a moment of joy and excitement, quickly sucked away from the sudden return of Leo Kruger! Mauro and Corey kneel down trying to check on Matt Sydal, and Ranallo looks up at one of the nearby XWL personal and yells over.

[Mauro Ranallo]
We need a medic, NOW....HURRY!

Everyone scatters to the scene of the crime, worried for Sydal, scared of what condition he might be in after going through such a grueling match, where Truth speared him through three barricades throughout the match, and now after all of that, he's been thrown from the top rope through the announce table...and he hasn't moved a muscle. The camera switches back over to Kruger, who has hopped off the apron and is making his way toward the direction of Matt Sydal. As he nears it, he stops and squats down looking upon the carnage he has caused. Medics rush into frame, trying to keep their distance from The Hunter, but still assist Sydal. He laughs at his dirty work, and it's the last thing we see as we fade away, still hearing the sinister laughter echo for a few more seconds.

END OF SHOW
